Over the past few weeks, I had Gluten-free noodles, Gluten free Pizza, and dried fruit on 3 seperate occassions.

I am noticing that when I eat excess carbs from non-vegetable sources, I get brain fog badly. Eating a more reductionist approach has really helped me to determine which foods cause me problems.

Knowing specifically what foods give me issues really ... Wed, 26 Jun 2013 13:50:50 EST Don't let the Perfect be the Enemy of the Good http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5400268 I had a really great weekend. I went to the farmer's market, I cooked a lot, went to see an author speak, spent some time working on the house, and started a baby sweater, because believe it or not at 35, I am a great aunt! Yikes, that sounds old.

I feel really good lately. My back is healing up and my feet are feeling better. Because I haven't been able to do much the past few weeks, I have been focusing on "keeping moving" around the house until I can handle regular exercise ... Mon, 24 Jun 2013 13:32:02 EST Practical Paleo http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5393518 After finishing Bob's Jumpstart to Skinny, I was feeling really good. Then I got off track. I find that worked really well with this program was prepping things ahead of time.

Life got in the way, as it does. My grandmother (at 97) passed away after experiencing a sharp decline in health, and I spent a lot of time helping care for her and my parents and preparing for the funeral. I didn't go fully "off the rails" but there was a lot unplanned in general at that time, which affe... Tue, 18 Jun 2013 14:12:43 EST Fruit, Carbs, PCOS and explaining choices to others http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5364645 Okay, so I try to keep this blog pretty positive and factual, but I have a little rant to let loose.

Why is it that other people always assume to know more about your eating choices than you do? From family to friends to co-workers, etc. I feel like I am constantly justifying my choices.

For example, I try not to eat refined carbs, or sugar in any form, artificial sweeteners, excess salt, excess grains, and excess fruit. This is because PCOS makes me extremely sensi... Wed, 22 May 2013 13:31:04 EST Week Three of Jumpstart to skinny http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5359382 I am almost done with Jumpstart to Skinny. I wanted to recap what I did, what I didn't do, and my results.

First, although Bob Harper claims that you can loose 20 lbs in 21 days, that much of a dramatic weight loss was not my goal with going on this plan. My goal was to eliminate carb and sugar cravings and form better sleeping, meal preparing habits and loose a few lbs.

About 2/3rds of my meals followed the Jumpstart to Skinny program. I had one cheat meal a week (a... Fri, 17 May 2013 13:55:41 EST Jumpstart days 11 and 12 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5351886 Well, I did awesome on Wednesday, but yesterday I decided to have Pizza with the guys for dinner. I don't feel bad about it though - Under the "skinny rules", you are allowed one cheat meal a week. I think I stay a little more sane if I let myself have one planned cheat meal a week. It is easier to say, "I can pass up on that doughnut, bowl of cereal, etc now because on this day I will be having this chosen meal."

Today at work we are having a food day, which is hard because t... Fri, 10 May 2013 09:28:53 EST Jumpstart days 9 and 10 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5349588 I am about half-way through the Jumpstart program. I thought I would give an update on how I have been doing with the program as well as the pros/cons.

Exercise: Due to problems with my feet, I have not kept up with the exercise program. I have decided not to do the cardio in the morning, and instead focus on the strength-training until my feet are doing better. Ironically, I am able to modify videos like th 30 day shred without too much of a problem, but "simple" walking is to... Wed, 8 May 2013 09:29:13 EST Jumpstart to Skinny 6, 7, and 8 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5347454 The weekend is over, here is my update:

Saturday I went "off" of the skinny rules - I had a cheat meal, permissible under the skinny rules, but not under the Jumpstart to Skinny program. I had 2 pieces of pizza. Throughout the weekend due to time issues, I also replaced some meals with protein shakes.

Sunday I went grocery shopping and prepped breakfasts and lunches for three days. For breakfast, we will be having greek yogurt with flaxmeal, pinneapple and mango. For... Mon, 6 May 2013 13:27:27 EST Jumpstart Day 5 - Friday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5344105 Yesterday I was super busy again with errands and chores. Jacque and I have both been working long hours and are really starting to feel it as the week comes to an end. Last night and this morning both, I had protein shakes for a meal replacement. I know it isn't the best option, and hopefully next week I will have some more time for meals. I am not skipping meals, though which is what I was doing previous to the diet.

I will admit that as the first week comes to an end, I am f... Fri, 3 May 2013 08:46:54 EST Jumpstart Day 4 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5342920 Last night I prepped a few meals ahead of time, since I will be out of the house almost all day tomorrow. After cooking three meals, and cleaning up the aftermath, I just couldn't sit down and eat a meal. There is such a high quantity of food on this diet that I feel like I am chewing all day! So, I opted for some protein powder in milk, just so I wouldn't wake up hungry in the middle of the night. It isn't on the diet, but it satisfied the calorie requirements.

This morning we... Thu, 2 May 2013 08:18:29 EST Jumpstart Day 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5342045 Last night we had Turkey patties on sauteed spinach with avocado. This morning we had a smoothie with watermelon, berries, spinach, and ground flax seeds with our 1 egg 3 egg whites. Pretty good. Getting better as the week goes on.

For lunch I am eating chicken, apple, celery, lemon juice, parmesan, and olive oil salad. This is the best salad so far. I am having a really hard time eating raw broccoli and peppers in the quantaty Bob describes, this seems to sit better in my s... Wed, 1 May 2013 13:36:53 EST Jumpstart Day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5340827 We were able to get in strength training last night, and had a dinner of watermelon, mixed greens and chicken.

I did not work out this morning. Hopefully I will be able to walk when I get home. Breakfast was a little better today. We had the Peanut Butter and "Jelly" Oatmeal, and we cracked an egg into our egg whites. While not "Bob's" way, it was much more palatable than a platefull of from a carton egg whites. I think next week, I will just crack eggs for the whites the squi... Tue, 30 Apr 2013 13:45:37 EST Jumpstart to Skinny Day One http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5339798 Jacque and I decided to do Bob Harper's Jumpstart to Skinny together. So far so good. I am feeling a little lightheaded this afternoon, but I am not hungry. I haven't started the electrolytes yet, because Jacque couldn't find them at GNC. I am going to go to Walgreens tonight and see what I find.

Breakfast was egg whites, asparagus, avocado and ezekiel bread. Just so you know, egg whites without salt taste like sadness.

Lunch was mixed greens, broccoli, red bell pep... Mon, 29 Apr 2013 17:37:57 EST It's a Brand New Year http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5177785 There has been a major change in our lives! While it may not seem a big deal, my husband got a promotion and is now working the same time I do right across the street from me. This means a lot of things are changing.

1. J likes to eat healthy, but we used his schedule as an excuse when he worked overnights and weekends to eat on the fly. Now, we can cook together which we like to do.

2. We eat together 3 meals a day, which means we have some accountability. We do b... Thu, 27 Dec 2012 13:59:06 EST Rule # 7: No Carbs After Lunch http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5129463 Hey! I have been gone for a while. Sorry about that! It was a very busy summer and fall for me. Well I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that in my few month hiaitus from SP, I did not gain any weight. However, I didn't lose any either! I was pretty happy that I maintained without tracking, but it just goes to show that I need the accountability of Spark people. The tracking helps keep me honest and the blogging reinforces my decisions!

So, previously... Fri, 9 Nov 2012 11:00:01 EST August 2, 2012 - Progress http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4998327 I will return to covering the Bob Harper skinny rules in my next few posts. In the meantime, just wanted to check in and update on how I have been progressing.

Well, I started "over" at the end of June and since then I have lost 12 lbs. Last week I only lost one pound, and so far this week I have not lost anything, which isn't a good sign. I am not doing anything differently, and am still following the "rules" so I think it is time to move to the next step and add in more activi... Thu, 2 Aug 2012 16:58:16 EST Rule #6: Apples and berries! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4986403 Bob wants you to eat fresh apples and berries every day. This rule is also pretty straightforward. Apples keep you satieted and people that eat apples when dieting do better than those who do not. Berries have good anti-oxidants and are good for your brain.

This rule was one that I thought would be hard for me, because I don't really like fruit (weird, i know, I like veggies but not fruit). Mostly, fruit textures can bother me. Mealy apples, mushy berries, etc. Plus, the cost... Wed, 25 Jul 2012 13:28:13 EST Rule #5: Eat 30-50 g. of fiber per day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4986375 This rule is fairly self explanatory. Bob only supports a few grains and bread products.

I am getting better at bringing fiber with me to work for snacks to help add more fiber in. At first I had a hard time cutting carbs and getting in enough fiber but now I eat the following to add fiber to my diet:

Oatmeal
Ezekiel bread
La Tortilla factory low carb tortillas
wasa crackers
apples
berries
veggies
nuts
beans

Although... Wed, 25 Jul 2012 13:13:57 EST Rule number 4 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4975003 Well, I am not blogging about these rules as quickly as I would like to, but anyhow, Bob's skinny rule number 4 is to slash your intake of refined carbs.

For breads, he really limits readers to Ezekiel (sprouted grain) breads or La Tortilla Factory low carb tortillas and whole wheat wasa type crackers. And then, only 30 carbs from grain sources for every meal.

For grains, he suggests Faro, wheat berries or quinoa or whole wheat pasta or plain oatmeal. Bob is not really... Tue, 17 Jul 2012 18:29:22 EST Rule #3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4968793 My progress with Bob Harpers new book : The Skinny Rules

Rule #3 is to eat protein at every meal. Bob states that we should be eating protein in grams equal to half your body weight. So, right now I weigh 244, so technically I should be eating 122 grams of protein per day.

Bob recommends lean protein, and breaks down "best" and "worst" cuts of meat by saturated fat content.

He highly recommends fish and non-animal sources. Then chicken and Turkey, then be... Fri, 13 Jul 2012 13:36:10 EST Rule #2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4964015 So I am going over Bob Harper's skinny rules and how they are working for me.

Rule #2 is Don't Drink Your Calories. Bob really doesn't want you to drink juice (with the exception of fruit smoothies you make yourself), no milk, soda (even diet), etc.

Basically, his reasoning is that your body doesn't respond to liquid calories, so you wind up hungry. Diet sodas are not good for you, and they encourage cravings for sugars.

So, how am I doing? I drink a ton ... Tue, 10 Jul 2012 14:02:21 EST Rule 1- Skinny Rules http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4962324 Rule 1: Drink a large glass of water before every meal-no excuses.

This is a pretty straightforward rule. I have been drinking a large glass of water in the morning and about 2 stainless bottles worth (about 5 cups) of water at work. I am getting in about 10 to 12 cups of water in daily.

I think drinking this water has really helped to detoxify my body. I feel like my allergies are better, and I am more sensitive to my thirst than I have been previously. I think the... Mon, 9 Jul 2012 13:55:55 EST July 9, 2012 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4962315 I am finally starting to lose weight again after several weeks of frustration. I am eating a little differently, and it is working very well.

As I am taking care of a large garden plot, and spend quite a bit of time at my garden, I haven't had much time for traditional exersize this summer. While the gardening keeps me active, it is hard to lose weight with such light activity. I have had to focus on my diet alone which was not working very well at all.

So, I bought... I am planning on heading to the garden after work, stocking up on food for the weekend, and getting my house ready for our weekend visitor. I have a lot to do today, and I am looking forward to it.

Yesterday I planned my meals ahead of time and tracked them before I ate them - this was more helpful in determining what to eat when. Fri, 25 May 2012 14:08:58 EST Thursday May 24th http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4896862 An update on my progress:

Lowering my calories. Still not in the range that I should be but very close. I am increasing my protein, and focusing on eating more veggies.

As always, challenges for me are sleep and water.

Haven't got in as much activity as I should this week, I didn't track any gardening as I just put plants in and weeded, but nothing like the hand-tilling I was doing before. However, I have been busier around the house since I have more en... Thu, 24 May 2012 22:51:32 EST Monday May 21, 2012 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4891442 This weekend was fairly successfull. I overdid it on the carbs, as usual and had a few treats that perhaps I should not have, but better than usual.

Saturday it was extremely hot and windy. I spent about an hour in the garden in the morning, but it was so hot and the wind was so bad that I was getting pelted with sand and pebbles. After fighting the sand and wind, and smacking my shin with the pickaxe, I threw in the towel for the morning. I went home, had a salad, drank some w... Mon, 21 May 2012 14:04:30 EST Friday, March 18 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4887543 I am beat. I have been fighting weeds in the garden all week. An hour and a half a day weeding, chopping up the clay, picking out the rocks, roots and cutworms, leveling and trying to get things planted. Gardening is supposed to be relaxing, but right now I feel like it is kicking my butt.

I have just one more section of the garden to hand till- ha, ha, if you can call it that - I feel more like I am mining for coal in the hardest dirt I have ever dealt with in my life. Then I ... Fri, 18 May 2012 16:24:29 EST Tueday May 15 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4882824 Yesterday I went to my garden plot, weeded more and leveled the ground. Then I planted peas and lettuce. I am really excited to start seeing things grow!! It was so nice out and I really enjoyed myself. I could have stayed out there all day.

I really like the smell turned earth. Our garden plots are tucked in by a small hillside covered in trees on one side and the Hospital grounds on the other. There is hardly any traffic, and it is very quiet. The other people gardening ... Tue, 15 May 2012 15:37:03 EST Monday May 14 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4881153 My husband typically works weekends, but he took this weekend off to spend some time with me. We worked in the garden, went out to dinner, hung out and went to our friend's daughters 5th birthday (a pirate party, super cute).

I got some exercise in, spent time outdoors, rested my back and ate more than I should have, but all in all had a very nice weekend. I feel like I am coming back from an extended vacation today. I also went to a festival and bought a loom for weaving. Su... Mon, 14 May 2012 15:30:11 EST Saturday May 12 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4878023 Yesterday I came home to find that my husband and roomate had gone to the community garden plot for me and scratched the weeds so that it would be easier for me to come back later and pull them up. What nice guys!

So afterwork my husband and I went to the garden plot to pull weeds. After an hour and a half we have about a quarter of the garden (20ft by 5 ft strip) completely weeded and hand-tilled. We worked for about an hour and a half and I wore my heart rate monitor. Jacque ... Sat, 12 May 2012 08:50:50 EST Thursday May 10 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4875788 My husband and I put up the stakes, deer fencing and lawn staples for my community garden plot last night. My garden is quickly being overcome with weeds. The plan is to go Friday night and clean it up a bit, maybe seed my spring crops.

Tonight I am going out to dinner with a pal, then I am heading home to make breakfast for Jacque (yes, we have odd schedules), while getting the kitchen supercleaned for the weekend. Then to bed early.

I am eating slightly better than ... Thu, 10 May 2012 15:59:37 EST May 9, 2012 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4874299 I am recovering from a herniated disk. Today is the first day that I feel well enough to get some exercize in. I have always wanted to lose weight "for health reasons", but not for specific health reasons. Well, just in the past year, I have blown out my back twice, this time the worst that I have ever felt. Anyone with back problems can probably relate. The pain is horrible. I felt terribly nauseous and was unable to walk by myself. That is a pitiful state to be in.

More ... Wed, 9 May 2012 16:39:54 EST Thursday March 29, 2012 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4810725 This week I am not doing so well packing meals ahead. I stayed up too late last night, slept through my alarm, and rushed out the door, so I forgot to grab one of the meals that I had packed ahead of time. I didn't get breakfast either. So by lunchtime I was starving and had fast food.

Getting enough sleep is such a cornerstone for me, but I seem to not be able to do it very well. I am always finding things to do.

Tonight I have to work on our taxes some more, but ... Thu, 29 Mar 2012 13:03:59 EST Tuesday March 27th http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4807221 I overslept this morning. I had a cluster headache yesterday that really did me in, I think. That and allergies. So, I had a hectic morning and didn't get anything to eat. I am trying to hold off until lunch as I am going out with some co-workers but I may need to run and grab a little something in the meantime.

The nice thing about going to our cafeteria at work is the large and well-stocked salad bar. It is much more convenient than waiting in line for something greasy, too.... Tue, 27 Mar 2012 12:05:01 EST Monday March 26th http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4805722 Weigh in day. I am happy to say that I have lost three pounds the past few weeks. Considering that I have just been cutting calories to start and increasing my activity, but not necessarily "working out", I am very happy with these results. My goal is to be under 200 lbs by October, and I think that is very doable.

This weekend we worked on the house quite a bit, putting in a pantry and reorganizing the entire kitchen. I still have a lot of work to go, but it is getting there... Mon, 26 Mar 2012 14:26:25 EST March 15, 2012 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4789205 Yesterday went fairly well. I didn't do so great for dinner, I made chicken fajitas. My recipe is actually fairly healthy, but I had 2 tortillas and those processed bread calories add up, and I ate more guac than I probably should have. I ate dinner too early, and so I had a piece of toast with a little honey for "dessert", as I was really hungry later and we don't have too much else in the house right now.

I didn't work out, but I did run errands, cook, scrub out the tub and do... Thu, 15 Mar 2012 14:35:54 EST March 14, 2012 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4787711 Thank goodness tomorrow is my Friday here. I have some much needed vacation coming up.

I had toast and coffee for breakfast, my vegetarian wild rice bake and yogurt for lunch, and I didn't do so well this afternoon. My snack was a snickers. I need to bring more food from home so that I don't snack here on junk in the afternoon. I need some almonds and fruit or something.

I have plenty at home for dinner, thanks to all of the cooking that I have been doing the past ... Wed, 14 Mar 2012 16:56:03 EST day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4786392 Well, the donut and cadbury egg today were not in the plan. But aside from that, I think I did fairly well.

I walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes. Hope to increase this time by the end of the week. I increased my water intake. Still not quite where I want to be, but at least I am drinking water again. My calories are still over, but I am tracking, and eating food that for the most part I made myself from scratch.

I am very happy with my dinner. I made another re... Tue, 13 Mar 2012 22:33:04 EST Tuesday March 13 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4785682 I did not get to bed early last night. Or on time for that matter. I am dragging today because of it.

I did make toast this morning. Unfortunately, my husband was not aware that I was starting to eat healthy again (because I need a baseball bat to get a message accross sometimes) and brought me a donut for breakfast (not a normal thing for him to do). Of course, I ate it. Whoops. Guess I am not having a gin and tonic with dinner tonight.

I did pack my lunch. I br... Tue, 13 Mar 2012 14:07:03 EST Day one http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4784673 I didn't do great today, but I didn't do terribly either.

I planned the meals for the week, and went shopping. I ate at Subway instead of more greasy fast food. I tracked my meals.

I did not watch any TV. I ran errands, went grocery shopping and cooked a healthy meal.

I ate reasonable portions.

So those were the positives today. What I could do better:

I could have eaten breakfast. I could have found something better than a snicker... Mon, 12 Mar 2012 23:08:52 EST Spring do-over http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4783831 Yep. Starting over. Again.

This time I am not discouraged however. Last year I was able to lose 15 lbs, and I know it is possible to do it again. Even if I did gain it all back over winter.

It is finally spring here in Wisconsin. That means we are getting rain instead of snow. So, my brother's wedding is in October and my goal is to be under 200 lbs by then. It has been a very horribly busy winter here at work. Now that I am back to 40 hour weeks I feel like I am... Mon, 12 Mar 2012 13:50:15 EST February 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4718713 I got sick again. I have had a nasty chest cold for over 2 weeks and am finally, finally recovering. Unfortunately this is the busy season at my work as well, so I have not been able to recover well.

I am trying to get back into the swing of healthy living. My plan is to get back into tracking my food, writing my blog entries and slowly starting to exercize again. I plan to walk on the treadmill a little today when I get home. Food - I did not do well yesterday. I do not think I will be buying Pita chips from Aldi's again anytime soon. I have a hard time limiting myself. I really need to up my freggies. Today I am doing better and I have plans for a good dinner

2. Water - Did not get enough in yesterday, and haven't had any yet today. Thu, 15 Dec 2011 16:12:13 EST Wednesday Dec. 14 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4625821 1. Food Tracking - Yesterday I was only slightly over my range. I am definetely improving. Today I got a little off track, but not horribly. I am really glad that I am under 2000 calories/day. It was hard to get to that point the first week.

2. Water - yesterday I got in 6.5, today I have only had three, but will drink more.

3. Sleep - Still not doing well here. Got 6-6.5 hours last night. Trying for at least 7 tonight.

4. Exercise - did an upper bod... Wed, 14 Dec 2011 18:41:55 EST Tuesday! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4624236 1. Food Tracking - Yesterday I was much closer to my calorie range than I have been in a long time. Today I am not doing so well, gave in to fast food. Hopefully grocery shopping tonight will help.

2. Exercise - I worked out for 1/2 hour on the treadmill. I burned slightly more calories than I have before, and I think it is because I did a few minutes of jogging. My goal is to eventually run a 5k in a 1/2 hour. Yesterday I made it to 1.37 miles, so I have a ways to go. Tonig... Tue, 13 Dec 2011 14:08:37 EST So Frustrated. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4623093 I get so frustrated with myself. I do well all week and then blow it on the weekends. So irritating.

Anyhow, I am doing better today. I didn't bring my lunch, so I had subway for breakfast. Their breakfasts are really good. You can choose egg white instead of egg and I add spinach and tomato to my sandwich. I held off eating as long as I could so that my late breakfast would help carry me through lunch. Not my usual style, but I didn't want to buy too much today. This afte... Mon, 12 Dec 2011 18:09:35 EST Getting back on track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4616779 I am reminding myself this week why I shouldn't take such a long break from working out. Man, do I hurt! Monday I did Jillian Michael's 30 day shred level one. Yesterday I walked on the treadmill for a half hour. I even jogged a bit. I burned around 230 calories each day. I want to keep doing cardio, but my legs really need a break. My inner thighs are killing me!

I did better today calorie-wise. I knew that it would only take a week of tracking to get me back in shape. I ... Wed, 7 Dec 2011 18:25:45 EST December http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4614054 I have really not been doing very well the past few months. I am really trying to get back on track before the end of the year.

Well, rather than writing about the things I am not doing, I will tell you what I have been up to! Today I did Jillian Michael's 30 day shred level one. I used my heart rate monitor, and even though I was "phoning it in" a bit as Jillian says, I did the best I could, given that I haven't worked out in so long. I was shocked. I had always tracked Jil... Mon, 5 Dec 2011 22:20:24 EST November and the Holidays. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4596622 So, my back is getting better slowly. I have not been working on the treadmill like I should be, though. Once I get into the habit of not working out, it is so easy to make excuses. I have been cleaning and organizing more, trying to stay "active" when I get home so that I don't just sit and veg, though. I have also been trying to eat more healthy, cooking meals from scratch, drinking blended fruits and veggies, and eating oats for breakfast. At work, I am terrible. There are so many fa...
