But, I feel like I am caught in the story of the tortoise and the hare. I've switched so many things around and this journey has changed from where we started! I am working with a wonderful young man who is not only a trainer but a physical therapist. So, he understands my MS issues and is helping me gt leaner and stronger--not just lose weight because I want to. i have completely changed my diet and I actually have an appointment with a... Tue, 27 Jan 2015 05:52:39 EST yeah! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5859240 My doc was great! He changed some of my meds, is pleased with my weight loss. He gave me the go ahead to lift more--but carefully! He even agreed that I should try and see a nutritionist because for everything that is right with what I am doing, something is off--- Wed, 21 Jan 2015 05:12:04 EST MS fog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5856193 Boy did i screw up! I thought my doctor's appointment was yesterday. It wasn't. I walked in a the sweet secretary looked at me and said--you know, he expected you yesterday! My heart fell!! Now I guess I have to wait until Monday to get the answers to my question. Sat, 17 Jan 2015 05:27:28 EST Anticipation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5855546 I am sitting in my doctor's parking lot anticipating this appointment. I am going to ask him to refer me to a nutritionist. After losing 80 lbs. sound silly... But I can't shake the heartburn and my cholesterol is still wacky! So, for everything I am doing right-- I am doing something wrong! I am really hoping he will help. I also want permission to start a lifting program. With ms I want the ability to lift my body weight if I need to. Who knows if he will agree with me. My eating has changed and as a result I have lost 68 lbs since this time last year. My goal this year is strength--spiritually as well as physically. I have a new trainer who is amazing! He pushes--not too hard, but hard enough. I am learning and doing things I could not do before. Tomorrow is unknown and this ticking time bomb within me makes me nervous--but not today! Mon, 29 Dec 2014 07:45:59 EST having someone to talk to http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5312314 I thought I would do this much more often--but time goes so quickly! I have spent the last two weeks with a new trainer. I have known her for awhile and we have talked many times, but she has helped me get serious about getting healthy and taking care of myself. just having someone to share my food tracker with and to discuss the kinds of exercise I am doing has been a great motivator. She has taught me how to group exercises so I am working opposing groups and how to create a mixed workout o... I am so happy for her, that she has truly found her soulmate. He is wonderful and kind and playful--just like her. <BR> However, I am finding that I am more old fashioned than I thought. She is being married by a friend who is mean and sharp-tongued and just plain not nice! It takes something out of the moment. It will be a wonderful wedding with all of her friends and our family-- <BR> It also takes me out ... Today I am 57. I have a full and productive life--3 kids, 1 beautiful grandaughter 2 wonderful son-in-laws. My career in education didn't go where I thought it would but as a district curriculum developer it is crazy busy, wonderful and rich. I visit a local gym 3-4 days a week and swim more for relaxation than fitness. Finding extra time is difficult, but if I make any resolutions this year--that is it!! Finding ...
