While this feels so slow, I believe it is a good way to lose weight - building muscle and some cardio to shed more pounds. Going to continue to track my food and use the containers over the next few weeks, including Thanksgiving! I don't want to undo my accomplishment. I took before and then after pics and it was amazing to see. When you look at yourself every day in the mirror, you might see subtle changes, or feel some clothing fit looser,... Wed, 19 Nov 2014 09:55:27 EST Day 30! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5818908 Today is the last day of my 30 day challenge. Technically, I send in my weight tomorrow, but I had gone ahead and weighed and measured today. I lost 3.4 pounds and 3.5 inches. I'm going to continue on through the next week, but I'm going to start another 21 Day challenge starting Dec 1st with the same program.

Tue, 18 Nov 2014 11:44:23 EST Day 26 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5816733 It is Day 26 of my 30 Day Challenge and I'm in my second round of 21 Day Fix. As of last Sunday when I weighed, I had lost 3.3 pounds, which is great. I bought the Ab Fix and Barre Fix workouts and they are sure tough, but I threw those into the mix this week. When my challenge is over, I plan on completing the 21 days of this program, and from there, not sure what workout plan I will do.

What I love about this program is that it is only 30 minutes and there are alot of exercises ... Fri, 14 Nov 2014 12:01:24 EST Day 1! 21-Day Fix http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5801407 I'm pretty pumped about my 30 day challenge with the 21 Day Fix and meal plan, although I woke up kinda tired today. When I received all the little tupperware things for the various foods, I thought, wow, these are SO small. But this morning I had eggs and the amount of oatmeal I should eat and I almost couldn't eat it all! Plus I am going to try to eat every 2 hours. I am thinking at first I shouldn't have a problem with feeling full, but then as I workout every day and my body gets used to ... Mon, 20 Oct 2014 10:04:26 EST Slight Detour Ahead http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5795924 It's not really a bad thing . My plan is to eventually finish Turbo Fire- that's my ultimate goal. Through some random encounters, I will be doing a 30 day challenge, starting on October 20th. This will be with the workout and eating program called 21 Day Fix. I"m really looking forward to joining a group to do this. So until then and after I'm finished, I'm going to do Turbo Fire.

Fri, 10 Oct 2014 15:33:30 EST Milestone #1 Complete http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5795398 I just wanted to express my congrats to my Aunt who finished her last chemo today for breast cancer. Now the next milestone will be surgery, which we don't have a date for yet. So for now we celebrate this milestone and then move forward! Thu, 9 Oct 2014 16:55:59 EST Week 2 of Turbo Fire http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5794072 I have completed one full week of TF and I'm on to the next week today. I tried making my own granola and butternut squash pancakes this past weekend. Pretty good! Monday I started tracking my food and calories again so I can monitor everything. I still feel like I'm starving most of the time. My weigh in days are on Sunday and I have lost 2.5 pounds since I started eating differently and doing TF. I'm not counting on that much loss each week, but I'd take a pound!

Tue, 7 Oct 2014 13:09:50 EST Week 1, Day 4 and Clean Eating http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5791104 So I'm chugging along here with Turbo Fire. Got through the first two days, with a break today and then a workout tonight. The original plan has only a one day break, but I have found that I do better with two breaks. I usually break on Wed and Fri because Wed is halfway through the week and Friday is just too hard to work out. Sometimes I use Friday as a makeup day if I end up with a headache or another work out day.

I've been reading about Clean Eating, which is what a coach on ... Thu, 2 Oct 2014 11:58:31 EST Workouts, eating, and my life http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5786684 So pretty sad, but already dropped off doing the Turbo Fire prep schedule. It was just not keeping my attention because it's so slow. I plan on starting Turbo Fire on the 29th, but then that scares me. Seems like too much. If only there were a happy medium. But the weight gain is annoying and frustrating. Must do something about it.

The eating. I pretty much eat the same as always. I rarely eat bread, don't eat too many sweets, eat many veggies and fruits, try to eat protein at ev... Thu, 25 Sep 2014 09:54:27 EST Prep Schedule - Turbo Fire Week 1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5773442 Really tried hard to get back to this level where I can do Turbo Fire again. Just love this program, but it can be intense. Started with the Prep schedule this week, which I didn't even know was in the book. So far it is very calm with just a few cardio workouts during the week and alot of stretching. I believe this is 9 weeks long and then I plan to begin the program. Thu, 4 Sep 2014 16:08:34 EST Just another blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5723960 Sometimes I have no idea what to title my blogs- as you can see. LOL I did my official weigh in on Sunday and I lost about a pound! Woohoo! I'm starting up with Turbo Jam and Chalean Extreme. I don't mind these workouts at all, but I get bogged down sometimes and have never finished the full plans they say you should. Let's see if I can do this!
Mon, 23 Jun 2014 09:22:10 EST On the Bandwagon again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5719232 Ha, my last blog entry was in April and it is now the middle of June. While I have not gained significantly, I have not lost either. But I know with discipline, I can get back to where I was before this break in eating properly and other things. Starting back with walking again, but I would like to get back to my cardio workouts in the house since it's going to be really hot. Mon, 16 Jun 2014 15:42:21 EST Determined this week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5681776 to do ALL of my workouts that I have planned. Last week was a fail! I was either feeling sick with a headache or too exhausted. Making excuses. So this week I am determined to do them all.

Sunday: Punch, Kick, Jam

Monday: Fat Blaster

Tuesday: Cardio Party 2

Thursday: Booty Sculpt and Abs
Sun, 27 Apr 2014 17:33:28 EST Two Week Follow Up http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5678796 Because I was on a lower dosage of my BP medicine, I went for my follow up. My BP was even lower than it was two weeks ago. 118/70. So now I'm going to start closely monitoring my sodium. I have been half heartedly looking at that prior to today. She said that I can take myself off the meds for two weeks, while taking my BP, if I have been monitoring my sodium, losing more weight, and continuing my exercise, through July. Of course I'll have to let them know! Good plan for me!

Wed, 23 Apr 2014 15:14:40 EST A little behind! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5678053 I finished 15 weeks on Sunday, of dieting and exercising. Only lost about .4 but that's alright! I went for a two hour hike on Sunday and it was great. Here's the rest of the week.

Tuesday: Cardio Party 2

Wednesday: Fat Burner

Thursday: 3T
Tue, 22 Apr 2014 16:31:08 EST 14 Weeks Completed http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5670990 Almost a pound lost! Woohoo! Tue, 8 Apr 2014 19:25:24 EST To my Aunt http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5667443 who just found out she has a highly aggressive breast cancer. Today is measure day and I have lost 2.5 inches from my chest, 1.5 inches from my waist since Jan. I'll take it!

So now for my next goal. I'd like to lose the rest of my weight, which is about 11 pounds by July 19th, which is my 1 year wedding anniversary!

This week's workout schedule!

Sunday - Cardio Party (although I might have to hike today!)

Monday - 20 Min Turbo Jam

... Sun, 6 Apr 2014 11:58:30 EST Week 12 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5659826 Not too happy with myself this week as I gained, but I was really lax with my diet toward the end of the week. Plus I didn't work out as hard as I wanted as I fought a headache for 2 days. So going to pick myself up, and start over again today.

Sunday: Cardio Party

Monday: Turbo Sculpt/Ab Jam

Tuesday: Cardio Party

Thursday: TJ 20/Ab Jam

Saturday: Stretch Sun, 30 Mar 2014 08:15:20 EST Week 11 Under my Belt http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5654651 Lost 1.3 pounds this week! I lost 1.6 pounds this week- yay me! I've made great food choices when I went out twice for lunch and once for dinner. I've almost made it to 10 pounds! Sun, 9 Mar 2014 09:57:23 EST March 2 - March 8 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5637479 Sunday: Cardio Core Express

Tuesday: Cardio Sculpt Express

Thursday: Turbo Jam 20 Min

Sat: Cool It Off Express

Sun, 2 Mar 2014 08:54:12 EST Week 8 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5637478 So I gained .1, which is not much of anything. I'm thankful to have stayed basically where I was last week. Wish I could have lost more, but perhaps next week. I can't really say that I did anything really wrong this past week. I did all my workouts, with the exception of my long stretching yesterday, because I didn't really feel well, but I plan on doing that today with my workout I planned. I made good food choices. Probably didn't drink enough water.

This was my measure day, as... Sun, 2 Mar 2014 08:52:05 EST Week of Feb 24- March 2nd http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5632722 So I'm borrowing this idea from someone else's blog because I'm hoping it will keep my more accountable.

So this is the workout plan for the week!

Monday: Slim in 6 Burn It Up

Tuesday: Slim in 6 Ramp It Up

Wed: Break

Thursday: Slim in 6 Burn It Up

Friday: Break

Saturday: Slim Series Cool It Off Express

Sunday: Slim Series Cardio Core Express Mon, 24 Feb 2014 17:10:57 EST Week 7 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5631455 Amazing is all I have to say! I can't even believe I lost this past week because it was my husband's birthday and I took him out for lunch. (-1.4) I actually ate pizza and birthday cake- not on my diet at all. I was still consistent with my workouts and tried to drink lots of water. Yesterday was so nice outside that we went hiking for about 4.5 miles. This week I'm on to the hardest level of Slim in 6. Sun, 23 Feb 2014 09:47:37 EST Week 6 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5625384 I've made it through 6 weeks of dieting and exercising. I keep bouncing back and forth on two numbers on the scale, so this week I gained back about a pound, so that was a bummer. But, I did go shopping yesterday and I went down a pant size in my dress pants, so that's a plus! I noticed that I have a baggy butt in the pants I'm wearing now, so it was time to remedy that. LOL

Sun, 16 Feb 2014 09:28:49 EST Week 5 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5619425 Completed Week 5 of my diet/workout. I lost .6 pounds from last week, which is a win. I did my best to drink as much water as I could. I did manage to get between 6-8 glasses every day, which is a major win for me. I worked out 5 days this week. Going to continue drinking water and working out!

Sun, 9 Feb 2014 12:32:59 EST Feeling Good! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5613985 This is the ultimate compliment- when someone asks you if you have lost weight because you look smaller. WOOHOO! Mon, 3 Feb 2014 12:14:11 EST Week 4 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5612963 This week I gained half a pound, which is a little disappointing, but I know weight loss goes up and down. I am going to try to drink more water this week. I am measuring monthly and I have lost 2.5 inches overall. On to Week 5! Sun, 2 Feb 2014 11:19:55 EST Did It! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5610542 I have been easing into the entire workout thing due to the fact that I had some set backs last year, as a few may know. I have been using Slim in 6 and a few workouts from the Slim Series, with a stretch on Saturdays. 3 days a week is my main focus, but if I feel like I have energy or want to do another workout I will. I also incorporated Walk Away the Pounds as another easier exercise to ease into it.

Today I was feeling rather energized and feeling like I wanted to dance a litt... Thu, 30 Jan 2014 19:57:48 EST Week 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5606185 Week 3 is a great success. Actually worked out 5 days this week, which was unexpected. I lost 1.7 pounds. On to Week 4! Sun, 26 Jan 2014 13:20:28 EST Week 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5598710 Well I got through another week. While it was a little easier to follow the diet this week, I found that I was a little lazier and relied too much on bars and shakes. Much better weight loss if I eat lots of veggies. I've lost a total of 5.2 pounds. Down 1.5 from last week. Technically I can begin the next phase of Atkins, which is OWL (ongoing weight loss). You slowly add different types of foods that may have more carbs. The first things you add are nuts and berries. I'm going to try a litt... Sun, 19 Jan 2014 08:28:39 EST Week One http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5591038 Week One under my belt and I lost 3.7 pounds! I worked out 3 times this week as I'm trying to get into the swing of things. (Slim in 6 Start It Up). I purchased a Walk Away the Pounds DVD and I want to try it this week, and continue with Slim in 6.

Following Atkins during the Induction phase is no joke. You have to be very disciplined and avoid the carbs and sugars. I struggled quite a bit during some days and I gave in to a granola bar craving twice. Better than giving up! So I f... Sun, 12 Jan 2014 09:52:02 EST Prepping http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5573014 I have decided to try the Atkins diet. I've heard so many people talk about how much weight they lost and I have heard all the hype. I'm not sure if I will jump on the bandwagon to eat their branded shakes and bars. I have found a deal on them, but I don't tolerate fake sweetners very well, especially if I can taste them. I did receive 3 samples of the bars, so I tried one this morning and so far, so good. I didn't taste the sweetner and I don't have a headache yet. I am going to test out the... Fri, 27 Dec 2013 11:54:57 EST Disappointed http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5535162 Went and talked to my doctor about my BP. Not sure what is going on, but I still have the high pressure, so she put me on medication. I've taken it for one full day and it makes me feel so sleepy and weird. I've read that it may take about a week to feel better with it. I have to take my pressure every day for a week and call in with my measurements. They may increase the dosage from there.

So yesterday I was pretty down on myself. Just felt like what is the point of all the worki... Thu, 7 Nov 2013 19:31:37 EST Friday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5524548 Went to see the orthopedist last Friday and he said everything seems to be healing well. I really don't have much pain anymore. I'm to finish out my last two PT visits next week and see him again in 6 weeks, so that takes me to Dec. I'm still wearing my lace up brace during the day and when I ride the bike, but hope to wean myself off of that in the next few weeks.

Have a doctor's visit in a few weeks to discuss my BP. It's been high for awhile. Not sure if the working out is help... Sun, 27 Oct 2013 11:03:14 EST Quick Update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5520472 I'm on week 3 of PT. Yesterday they had me do the majority of my ankle exercises standing up. I got through it but last night my ankle was kind of aching, so I iced it. That's the first time that has happened. When I go in tomorrow morning, I will let them know. Other than that, I've been doing pretty well walking around. I am not really able to wear heels yet so that makes me sad. LOL

Still doing the exercise bike at least 3 times a week and tonight I'm going to increase the tensi... Tue, 22 Oct 2013 14:49:00 EST Physical Therapy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5507108 Today I saw my physical therapist and she said the mobility of my ankle is very good. She gave me stretching exercises to do with a band. Count of 20 for all 4, every day. I have to go two times a week for 4 weeks. It is what it is I guess. The next visit is on Friday. And I can wean myself off of my boot by wearing my lace up brace again and then just bring my boot in the car in case I think I need it. Mon, 7 Oct 2013 15:03:22 EST Chugging along http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5504265 First things first. I went for my orthopedic visit yesterday and had xrays done. Said my ankle is healing. It definitely doesn't hurt as bad as when I saw him 3 weeks before but sometimes it will ache. I feel like it's way better and I'm just anxious to get past this. So I have to go back in another 3 weeks for another set of xrays. Plus I go in on Monday to have an initial visit with a physical therapist, which honestly, I think is a little unnecessary, but I'll go. From there it will be det... Fri, 4 Oct 2013 10:02:13 EST Revised eating http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5501601 My husband is doing a Biggest Loser challenge at work and so I am assisting by changing my eating habits. I'm going back to the basics of putting my food into Sparkpeople, counting calories. I'm trying to watch my sodium and fat the most, but just really trying to eat a balanced diet with not alot of calories.

I go back to the orthopedist on Thursday for my recheck. I really want this boot off! I do feel a lot better, so that may happen. We'll see. I have been riding the exercise ... Tue, 1 Oct 2013 16:23:42 EST And it Continues http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5483616 So it has been a month since my ankle injury and while I am able to walk faster, I still have pains in my ankle and it still swells. I am on week 3 of my weights. On this past Sunday, I decided to go with my husband to walk, while he ran. I wore my lace up brace and completed a mile, which was a huge feat! On Tuesday we went to the apartment gym and I rode the bicycle for 30 minutes and my ankle was ok. Usually before I work out, when I come home from work, I put my foot up for about 15-30 mi... Thu, 12 Sep 2013 11:25:25 EST Tried some new foods http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5475961 So I saw this detox plan in Self Magazine and for 7 days you eat foods that are high in good fats and antioxidants. Each morning is a smoothie and then then they either have a recipe or recommend going to a certain restaurant and what to order. They also include a cardio and strength plan for each day. I'm not really following it, but decided to try some of the smoothies, which meant I had to buy some ingredients I've never eaten before. So I tried almond milk, almond butter and kale. I reall... Wed, 4 Sep 2013 17:32:59 EST Happy September! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5472367 Well, last week I started lifting weights with the Chalean Extreme program. I decided to do this while my husband ran, since I still cannot do that. I can't do anything with any cardio right now. I can walk farther and a little faster this past week, but still need the brace. For a little bit I was wearing an ace bandage type brace at night because my foot would ache. When I walk awhile or have to stand for an extended period in one place, my ankle tends to swell. I'm a little frustrated beca... Sun, 1 Sep 2013 09:16:41 EST Coming Along http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5464075 I've been walking "normally" since last Thursday. Slowly, but surely my injury is healing. I find that I do tend to walk better without the brace on my foot since it kind of impedes normal walking, but I prefer to do what the doctor says ;) I am still having a little difficulty going down the stairs, so I take them one at a time. I'm going to give myself another week of recovery before I start using my foot more, but because I'm feeling rather lazy and my weight is not going anywhere, I'm goi... Fri, 23 Aug 2013 13:05:31 EST Recovering http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5456545 After 3 days on crutches, I went without today. Only had a brace on my ankle and I made it. I don't do alot of walking around at work, so that helps. I ordered a stronger brace and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow, so I'm hoping that will work for me when I later try to work out again. For now I'll just focus on continuing to get back to normal. Thu, 15 Aug 2013 21:00:15 EST Fail http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5453069 I'm thinking to myself, This is what I get for trying to be healthy but I know I shouldn't be so negative. Was feeling great at the beginning of my run yesterday but by the second to third interval, my ankle was hurting. Not super severe. Felt like my muscles were tight. Tried interval 4 and had to stop halfway. Was so bummed. Spent the rest of the day on the couch with ice on my foot and elevated. This morning got up and I felt better but the longer I walked on it, I could tell the pain was ...
