There’s something about it that just kills my calf and shin muscles to the point that I can’t run very long. I’m sure my form is changed just enough to throw me off that little bit on the treadmill. Today I made the decision that I’m going to have to toughen up and run on the track. I don’t like running in front of people, and at my gym the track passes directly in front of a line of ellipticals, bikes... Tue, 11 Dec 2012 21:30:20 EST Now this is Cold!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5145850 A couple weeks ago I commented that it had been in the 30s when I was going for my runs, well that was nothing, considering I think it was in the upper 30s. This morning it was 25 or so when I left the house, 30 when I returned. It was cold, but good! I invested in layers that I was able to wear this morning and other than my legs I didn’t feel that cold. I’m going to have to get some warmer running pants if I want to keep running comfortably in the cold.

Just about 4 weeks unt... Sun, 25 Nov 2012 10:42:40 EST Jingle Bell Run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5123839 Today I had the Jingle Bell Run at the zoo. Overall the run was great. I was a bit worried that my knee might not hold up, as I started having issues with it a couple weeks ago, but I wore my knee strap and I didn’t feel any pain throughout the run. I think the toughest part of the run was the hill at the zoo that challenged most runners. We had to do two laps, and the first time through I made it halfway up the hill before I stopped to walk, and the second time around I made it about a q... Sun, 4 Nov 2012 17:09:06 EST High Expectations http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5120819 When I started running earlier this fall, I don’t know that I had intended to enter into races. Sure, they inspired me, and part of what got me going might have been the benefit walks I was doing, but I don’t think I ever saw myself as a competitor. Now I’m sitting here wondering if I can train for a half marathon in 6 months. The Door County Half Marathon is May 4th, 2013. All I’ve run so far is a single 5K, my second one is this coming Sunday. My average pace was around 13 min/mi, whic... Thu, 1 Nov 2012 21:49:06 EST Brrr... It's Cold Outside!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5115463 I’ve been keeping up my training even as the temperatures outside have fallen. The past couple days it’s been in the 30’s on my morning runs. I took a couple days off this week since my knee has been bothering me, but was able to get back out there yesterday. I didn’t run as fast and as long as I normally would have, but I at least wanted to see if I could keep going. I managed to get outside to run this morning as well, although I could tell my knee was still not quite right.

T... Sun, 28 Oct 2012 10:32:03 EST New Distance Record! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5106324 This morning I went out for my Saturday run, which has become regular in my schedule. It was a little chilly, but that quickly went away once I got running. My intent was to run 3.1 miles and see if I could improve my time. While it’s not all about time for me, it is a way I can measure my fitness level.

Once I got through the 3.1 miles I decided to keep going to make it 4 miles. I’m going to have to push myself if I want to improve, and I really want to do a quarter marathon n... Sat, 20 Oct 2012 19:08:18 EST Ran My First 5K http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5097524 Today I ran my first 5K, the Get Your Rear in Gear – Milwaukee for the Colon Cancer Coalition. My father died from colon cancer almost 13 years ago, so it meant something to me to be able to participate and work toward a cure. I’ve been training to run a 5K since the middle of August, or so, and I’ve definitely seen improvement. This was my first real race.

This morning the weather was somewhat threatening. The race started at 8:30, and when I was leaving the house at 7:00 it w... Sat, 13 Oct 2012 11:53:00 EST Ran 10 Minutes Straight! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5081657 Last night I was so proud of myself, I ran/jogged 10 minutes straight! I wasn't so sure it was going to be a good run at first. I usually warm up with a couple minutes of walking to get to the main road/trail. I started running ok, but a couple minutes into the run my calf muscles started hurting pretty bad. I had to stop to walk, then started running again, they were just killing me. I decided to stop and stretch them, which seemed to help. When I got to my turnaround point I stretched... Mon, 1 Oct 2012 07:20:35 EST The Importance of Rest http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5075059 Tonight when I went for my run I learned how important the day of rest really was. When I started running in the beginning weeks I would run each night if I had time available. Even if my legs were a little sore I would get out there. I was doing alright. The past couple of weeks have been a bit busier and I’ve been forced to take days off in between my evening jogs. The latest example was this past weekend, I ran on Saturday afternoon, walked in the Susan G. Komen walk on Sunday, was bu... Tue, 25 Sep 2012 22:24:58 EST Walks, Runs, and Races http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5071968 Today I participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. I walked the 5k, and it was great to get out and support a good cause. As I was waiting for my fellow walkers to get moving, I was thinking, "I could have run this one." Even if I had to stop to walk every so often I think I could do it.

With that said, I was looking for other races in the area and I found one hosted by the Colon Cancer Coalition that interested me. This one interested me specifically as it was what ... Sun, 23 Sep 2012 20:26:00 EST It's Been a While http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5051308 It's been a while since I've made an entry in here. I've had some changes to my weight loss/fitness journey, as it had become stagnant. I've recently become motivated by running. I signed up for my first 5K in November, and am really hoping I can pull off a half marathon in a year. I realize losing weight will be critical to my success in running, therefore I'm looking to utilize the resources I have available.

I'm using Livestrong to track my food, as I really like their food ... Sun, 9 Sep 2012 17:11:45 EST Going to lose this week! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4748450 So last week didn't go as well as I'd hoped, granted I wasn't surprised when I stepped on the scale and gained. Thankfully it was only 0.9 lb, but after a streak of constant losing, it was a wake up call nonetheless. I ended up writing a paper for the class I'm taking for most of the week, and didn't make it to the gym except for the previous weekend, I know what I could have done better.

This week is going to be better. I already have my meals planned for the week, as well as m... Mon, 20 Feb 2012 21:13:51 EST Ready for the Elliptlal? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4721632 Well, I didn't lose my 5% this year, but I did lose 1.2 lbs this week, not bad! To keep the momentum going, I'm heading to the gym this afternoon after I do some errands this morning.. cat has to go to the vet, I need a haircut, fun, fun!

At the gym my normal routine on weigh training days is 30 minutes on the treadmill, 30 minutes using the weight machines, 30 minutes on the recumbent bike. I'm starting to get more and more accustomed to the treadmill, so I think I'm ready to di... Sat, 4 Feb 2012 09:23:02 EST Another Challenging Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4719492 This week was challenging as I was having trouble staying motivated. I start my "fitness week" each Friday and do my weigh in, etc that day as well. I went to the gym early on Saturday as well as Sunday for an hour and a half each visit. Then, on Monday I went after work. Tuesday I was just mentally drained from having a nonstop weekend, as well as a hectic start to the week, so I didn't go to the gym then or Wednesday either. I went back tonight and did another hour and a half workout. ... Thu, 2 Feb 2012 22:38:09 EST Continuing to Lose! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4694860 I had my weekly weigh in yesterday and lost another 2.2 pounds! I'm so excited that my diet and exercise plan is actually working. I've been continuing to go to the gym 4 - 5 times per week. I do cardio as well as strength training, which I think really helps. I'm also following the WW PointsPlus program, which I've done in the past and have been successful with.

It's cold out here today, hoping to get some stuff done, but when I woke up it was -1 outside. Sat, 21 Jan 2012 09:36:34 EST It's a New Year! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4655292 The past couple weeks have been pretty productive for me. I joined the gym, have been going at least 3 - 4 times a week, granted it's only my second week, but it's a good start!

Last night I went for a free fitness eval they give you, they have you do situps, pushups, measure you, all that fun stuff. My results turned out to be "fair," so I have some work to do, but it's motivating. Tonight I went back and did an hour on the treadmill and 20 minutes on the bike. I feel pretty g... Tue, 3 Jan 2012 21:06:54 EST Made it to the Gym! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4633338 Well, I'm pretty happy with myself. Last night I went to a local gym to tour it, they gave me two free passes to try it out before I decide to become a member. I used my first pass tonight. I spent an hour on the treadmill, and feel great. A little sore, but that's ok. I was pretty nervous since I haven't really used a gym in a good 10 years, but I was glad to be back. Everyone's there for the same reason. I'm going to use my second pass either Thursday or Saturday if they're open. Lo... Tue, 20 Dec 2011 21:55:17 EST Challenging Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4630078 This week has been extra challenging for me. We had a potluck holiday lunch at work, and then the next day we had our holiday lunch that was sponsored by my employer. To add to it, I had purchased a new exercise bike last weekend that was faulty out of the box, so that was discouraging, and it had to be returned. I was hoping to use it, and having it at home made it easier and more motivating for me to use it.

This week I'm going to try to do better. I'm actually considering jo... Sun, 18 Dec 2011 10:56:54 EST No loss this week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4350851 Well, I didn't gain, but I didn't lose either this week. I consider that a success. I've been exercising regularly, eating well, and doing good overall. I'm not sure why I didn't lose weight this past week, but I'm not going to stress too much over it. I'm just glad I didn't gain.

I'm planning on getting to the grocery store and getting some healthy stuff for the week. I'm finding tracking my food regularly is helping me quite a bit. I know exactly where I'm at at all times. ... Sat, 9 Jul 2011 08:21:49 EST Happy 4th! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4340303 I hope everyone out there is having a great 4th of July weekend! Mine has been pretty good so far! Saturday I went to Taste of Chicago. It's a food festival featuring 59 Chicago restaurants. Thankfully every booth had small portion options as well as many had healthy choice options, so it was pretty easy to find something to eat. It was an extremely hot day (90 - 95 all day). Thankfully there were drinking fountains and Gatorade available.

Yesterday I just relaxed most of the... Mon, 4 Jul 2011 11:06:18 EST This weight loss thing is a lot of work! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4329160 Today as I was driving home from work, I started thinking about the night ahead of me. I was going to try to have a decent dinner, get on the elliptical for a half hour, and just have some me time. The more I thought about the exercise and diet piece of my evening, it felt like I was on my way to my second job.

Nobody ever said this would be easy, and over the past couple months of not losing any weight, I think I was slacking a bit. I could have tried harder, and I feel like ... Tue, 28 Jun 2011 20:41:47 EST Monday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4326910 Today was a good day. I had a decent day at work, although it could have gone by a bit faster. Came home, had a healthy dinner (chicken and apple sausages - thank you Johnsonville) with some veggies, and jumped on the elliptical for 20 minutes. I was proud of the 35 I did yesterday, and I'm just as proud of the 20 I did tonight.

The rest of the night is for relaxing. I'm working on a baby blanket for one of my employees who's due in August. I really hope I can get it done in t... Mon, 27 Jun 2011 21:26:29 EST Great Day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4324362 I like days like today, where I feel like I've accomplished something and am going in the right direction. I started off by going to the grocery store and ended up getting fruits and veggies for the week, as well as some healthy snacks. Then cleaned up the apartment and vacuumed. Nothing better than having everything put away and in its place. I watched some tv and then jumped on the elliptical for 35 minutes. Since I hurt my knees doing the C25K running program outside, I've decided I'... Sun, 26 Jun 2011 20:30:06 EST C25K - A New Approach http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4318878 It's been a couple weeks since I stopped doing the C25K program because I hurt my knees. I couldn't even walk without pain, so I'm not sure if it was a lack of stretching, just too much force on my knees or what. Anyway, I've decided I'm going to get back into the C25K program, and start over. This time I'm going to use my elliptical instead. I'm going to do the walking portions slower and the running portions faster. I haven't done the elliptical since winter since I like to get outside... Thu, 23 Jun 2011 21:51:18 EST Good week so far! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4301245 This week started off a little shaky with me being on vacation (my eating habits get out of whack when I'm not at work), but with the purchase of my new iPhone app that logs pictures of my food as well as going back to Lean Cuisines for lunch (tasty, yet few calories) I feel like I'm back on track. I was right at the bottom of my calorie range both today and yesterday. Also, yesterday I opted for a spinach and strawberry salad for dinner, healthy choices! Anyway, I'm excited and hoping for... Wed, 15 Jun 2011 20:38:51 EST Taking pictures of my food http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4295303 In an effort to further get my eating under control, I've started taking pictures of my food. I found an app called "Foodish" that allows me to use my phone to take a picture of everything I eat, and then rate it on how healthy it is. I think it creates better awareness of what I'm eating, and forces me to identify how good it is for me. I already had this knowledge prior to rating my food, but I did so much mindless eating before, I'm hoping this makes me a more mindful eater. I'm offici... Mon, 13 Jun 2011 10:02:32 EST Starting over http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4293214 Last Saturday was the last day I went for a run on my C25K program. I was starting to notice some knee pain, and as the week went on it got worse. I either didn't stretch or warm up enough before running, or I just did too much at once not being in great shape. I'm going to try to keep walking or at least riding my stationary bike to stay active. My motivation to be active has just gone down.

I went grocery shopping last night and picked up a bunch of healthy things, lots of fr... Sun, 12 Jun 2011 09:44:16 EST Beginning of a healthy week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4278237 I woke up this morning feeling like this is going to be a good week. I stocked up on fruits and veggies at the grocery store yesterday and have my week planned out for the most part. Last week I bought an iced tea maker for making fresh iced tea (from bags or loose tea). Much healthier than the powder mixes I used to get, and since I'm a tea lover, just don't like hot tea as much in the summer, it works out great. I can make a whole pitcher at once, and I'm all set for a day or two.
... Sun, 5 Jun 2011 10:28:39 EST C25K Day 4 Complete! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4276610 Well today was definitely much more challenging, I moved onto week 2 of the C25K, which involves 90 second runs and 120 second walks. It probably didn't help that it's hot and humid outside, but I did it anyway. There were a couple runs that I had to stop a couple seconds early, which I don't think is a big deal. If I'd known it was only a couple seconds away I probably would have just kept going until the end, but I hide my iPhone in a pouch, so I don't know how far along I am, other than... Sat, 4 Jun 2011 11:32:44 EST C25K - Day 3 Complete!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4273476 Week 1 of C25k is done! I feel great! I still had to push myself a little bit in the 8th and 9th run, but I think this week went well overall. I'm looking forward to starting week 2 on Saturday. It combines 90 second runs and 2 minute walks (week one was 60 second runs and 90 second walks). I really think this is a great program. I've never been a runner, and in the past have hated running, but maybe that's because I've never tried hard enough or been very successful with it. This time... Thu, 2 Jun 2011 20:52:43 EST C25K - Day Two! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4268121 I've just completed day 2 of the C25K, and I feel great, although I should have waited a bit for it to cool down. It says it's about 78 degrees out there, but it felt like 90 with the humidity. Either way, I think it went well. I completed all 9 runs successfully. I started this program on Saturday, so I'm hoping to finish out the week on Thursday. It says it's supposed to rain, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't.

Now I just have to work a little harder on my die... Tue, 31 May 2011 18:17:36 EST C25K - Day One! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4261479 About a month ago I bought an app for my phone that would guide me through a Couch to 5K. It sounded really motivating, and I wanted to start jogging again. I had jogged a couple summers ago and I felt like I really had a good workout once I would do them, but after that year I had stopped. Today I decided to pick it up again. The app is really nice, you can set your own playlist using music from your phone, and it guides you through walking and jogging in interfals. Each week you do the... Sat, 28 May 2011 12:09:15 EST 500 calories an hour?! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4202057 Can I really have burned over 500 calories an hour walking? I'll admit I do need to get in shape, but that just seems a little high. It's definitely motivating to get out there and walk more though. I decided to get out and start exercising again today. It's such a nice day, and looks like it's going to be a nice week as well. There's a paved trail that goes by my house that's great for walking or biking (hoping to get out and bike a bit this spring/summer). I got a new heart rate monit... Sun, 1 May 2011 10:54:52 EST Time to get serious! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4200711 Why is it that we often go back and forth about what we want. If I really want something shouldn't I really want to work hard for it? I feel like this is my problem losing weight and getting in shape. Maybe it's that the weather has been pretty crappy lately, I think it's rained all week. Who wants to go out and exercise in that? I haven't really wanted to exercise inside at all either. I've also bee pretty tired and working a lot. I'm hoping the majority of my working too much has end... Sat, 30 Apr 2011 17:04:17 EST Developing Healthier Habits http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4172159 It's time for my weekly update again. Yet again, I didn't lose any weight this week, and I know that's my own fault for not exercising enough and not reducing my food intake enough to lose, but I still feel that I made progress this week. I'm learning to care for myself better, been having healthier lunches, not snacking, etc, so I'm getting there.

Yesterday I discovered almond milk. I thought it was really good, almost too good. It has half the calories of regular milk, and I ... Sun, 17 Apr 2011 16:31:43 EST Grocery Shopping http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4155431 I did my weekly grocery shopping this morning and I'm extremely proud of myself. I didn't do as well with losing this week as I'd hoped, as usual the week was very stressful due to work, and I gave in to comfort food two days this week. Every week it seems like I'm starting fresh, but I guess if that's what I have to do, it'll work.

I'm happy to say I picked up all healthy stuff at the grocery store this morning. Granola bars, trail mix packs that are low in calories, and sandwi... Sun, 10 Apr 2011 11:33:42 EST Out of Energy... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4142314 It was back to the work week today, and I'm dead tired. I can't say I had a rough day, because it really wasn't that hard, but I could go to sleep right now. Instead, I made a sandwich and veggies for dinner, and am going to jump on the stationary bike for a bit. I'm hoping that the "it takes energy to get more energy" thing holds true. I know that getting over this cold hasn't really helped things either, but I don't like being so exhausted that I get home and don't want to do anything. ... Mon, 4 Apr 2011 19:19:47 EST Saturday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4136076 Well, it's Saturday. I made it through the week, although I'm going in to work for a bit this morning. My staff is going in to catch up on some stuff, and I have to make sure they're doing their job. At least I don't need to stay the whole time with them. Between working 10 hour days lately and stressing, I could use the time off. Thankfully we can wear jeans.

I need to find some better things to make for meals. At the beginning of the year I made a resolution to cook somethi... Sat, 2 Apr 2011 07:48:48 EST Good start to the week! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4124891 This week is off to a good start. Although I wasn't feeling well yesterday I managed to get on my stationary bike for a half hour. I tried out my new heart rate monitor, loved it! It shows I burned more calories than the bike showed, who can argue with that? Besides, it should be more accurate since it's monitoring my heart rate, weight, age, etc.

Work was pretty hectic today, but that's been the norm for the past several months. I'm getting used to it. Last week started off ... Mon, 28 Mar 2011 19:38:12 EST Ready for a new week! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4120980 Last with the week prior, last week wasn't very productive for me. I at least managed to stay on track with my food, but the exercise didn't happen. Working long stressful days will do that to you. I've also been fighting a cold, so between sneezing, headaches, and everything else, just haven't had the motivation to work out. I invested in a heart rate monitor, which I ordered last week. It showed up in the mail on Friday, so I'm looking forward to using that, but right now my priority i... Sun, 27 Mar 2011 08:18:52 EST Busy week! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4104617 Last week was quite the challenge to stay on track. I've been working 10 - 12 hour days, driving to and from work an hour each way, I feel like all I've had time for is to come home, relax a little bit, and sleep. I honestly haven't exercised in the past week.

The other struggle I've had this week was lunch. I took my lunch to work, the things I would normally eat to stay on track, but because I'm on a special project and not where I would normally be working I opted to go out f... Sun, 20 Mar 2011 11:09:53 EST No loss this week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4087639 It's been a little over a week since I've done my last blog entry. I've been so busy at work that I just haven't had much motivation to do much else than relax when I get home. This week I'm getting back on track. I didn't lose any weight over the past week, but I didn't gain either, which is good. I'm looking forward to the time change where it will be lighter outside later, so I can start walking and possibly jogging again. One thing I'm thinking of investing in this year is a heart ra... Sun, 13 Mar 2011 08:09:09 EST Went Over My Calories http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4050634 I have to say, overall this week has been a success. Most days I've stayed within my calorie range and exercised. Tonight I went over to a friend's house for a get together and they served some good food. I ate more than I should have, and I tried to make some good decisions, but I slipped a little bit. I have to tell myself that this is ok once in a while, and it's not a failure. Definitely not something to beat myself up over. I think it's ok to go outside the daily allowances once in... Sun, 27 Feb 2011 00:16:53 EST Happy Friday-Eve! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4045372 What's better than the night before Friday? Well, Friday I suppose. I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend. It's been quite the week, although I've managed to stay within my calorie goals all week, and it's showing on the scale. I'm really not stressing much about it either, which is great. Normally I'd be in the fridge looking for something to snack on, but I feel satisfied. Maybe it's the exercise that's helping, who knows...

I'm hoping to make it to a friend's house... Thu, 24 Feb 2011 20:29:20 EST Working out with the pets http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4039440 I got my exercise in today, did 30 minutes cardio on the stationary bike, and did my strength exercises for the first time since starting SparkPeople. I have 2 cats and a dog (6 lb yorkie), and between the 3 of them there was always one who seemed to want to help me when I was on the floor trying to do my exercises. They're great, but can be a bit in the way sometimes. Regardless, I was able to get all my exercises done. Again today, I'm on track with my food as well. I'm also a day ahea... Tue, 22 Feb 2011 19:37:20 EST The Struggle Within http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4036261 It's such a dreary day outside, it's been snowing on and off all day, it's cold, and gloomy. This is the kind of weather that makes you just want to curl up on the couch and watch tv. Instead, I'm staying committed to my decision to get healthier. My stationary bike is sitting right here in front of me in the living room. I'm at least going to get in 30 minutes on the bike, and stay on track.

I've stayed within my calorie range today so far as well. I still have about 250 calo... Mon, 21 Feb 2011 18:55:04 EST Back on Track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4032460 After my first week back on track, I'm happy to say that I lost 1.5 lbs. This definitely isn't easy work, as I have to watch my portion control very carefully, make sure I exercise daily, and avoid snacking, one of my biggest downfalls. I've also made the decision that I don't have a specified weigh in day. While I'm mostly likely going to aim for Sunday, if I feel I need to wait until Monday, that's ok. I've taken such a strict approach in the past, and I feel that a more relaxed approac... Sun, 20 Feb 2011 13:20:06 EST Week 1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4029660 This is my first week on SparkPeople. I signed up back in November, but never really used it. Now that I need some motivation, I've decided to dedicate some time every day to logging in here, tracking my food and activity, and seriously trying to lose weight and get healthier. I've found this difficult lately since I have a renewed interest in cooking and baking. While this can be healthier, I like making the "good" stuff too, like cupcakes, breads, and other yummy treats. After seeing t... Sat, 19 Feb 2011 09:07:29 EST
