PRINCESSCHUBBIE's SparkPeople Blog PRINCESSCHUBBIE's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community 40 by 40 So I have decided to come up with a list of things I would like to accomplish by my 40th birthday, in 20 months. Wow 20 months really?! It's coming up pretty darn fast. I am in the process of creating the list, this is what I have so far.

1. Read 4 books
2. Lose 40 pounds or more
3. Visit Washington DC
4. Make 4 quilts
5. Run a mile without stopping
6. Run in a 5k race
7. Take a class to learn something new
8. Do something out of ... Thu, 18 Oct 2012 08:48:47 EST Wednesday Weigh In My weigh in was ok. I stayed the same as last week. I did not gain so that is AWESOME. I didn't lose but I didn't think I would. I have not been on track with eating or exercise. Life is pretty hectic right now. I hope to get back on track in the next week or so.

If your weigh in was today, how did you do? Wed, 17 Oct 2012 08:40:12 EST What is your favorite season? I've said it before and I'll say it again. I LOVE Fall!

We had the best time this weekend. We went on a hayride, walked through a corn maze and picked pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. The weather was sunny but brisk, definitely hoodie/sweater weather. I love it! The smell of fall in the air is intoxicating!

What is your favorite season?

Tue, 16 Oct 2012 07:59:48 EST Family picture when I lose weight Since my kiddos were born I have said "We'll get a family picture after I lose the weight". Well my baby is 12 and guess what?! Still no family picture.

I focused so much on not wanting a fat picture that I have lost out on years of family pictures.

Losing weight is hard and I hope that I can lose the weight I need to, but I am not going skip a family picture any longer. I have scheduled an appointment with the photographer. I can't wait.

I hope you all are d... Mon, 15 Oct 2012 07:50:42 EST Body Bugg or FitBit Have any of you tried a Bodybug or fitbit? What do you like about the one you have used? What have you disliked? I am looking into getting one of these. I wish there was a way to try it before you buy it as these are expensive and I'm not sure which one I prefer. Thu, 11 Oct 2012 08:02:02 EST Self Weight loss or Surgical weight loss? I have family and friends that have had weight loss surgery and have had great results. I have also had friends and family that have had success with losing weight the old fashion way- burn more calories than you eat.

Several years ago I looked into weight loss surgery. I qualified but my insurance only covered 50% and I couldn't afford the remainder. In that time I have tried numerous dvds, books, pills, programs, dr assisted weight loss programs, you name it I've tried it with n... Wed, 10 Oct 2012 07:39:03 EST I love fall I love this time of year. I love the chill in the air early in the morning and being able to wear a hoodie. I love the warm comfort foods of the season. Pumpkin chocolate chip anything (cookies, bread, muffins) are my weakness for sure. Hot cocoa 106 on a chilly morning or evening is another. I love the beautiful color changes of the leaves and trees. Very beautiful time of the year!!

Have a great day today.

Tue, 9 Oct 2012 06:32:15 EST Medical Insurance = Frustration! Our Medical Insurance is only networked in 5 states, we are currently in one state that isn't networked (my husbands works all over the US - we travel a lot). Since I am unable to be seen by an In Network doctor I have to prepay and then submit a claim to be reimbursed. I don't understand why they just can't bill my insurance. What if I needed surgery? I would have to prepay for that? Thankfully I don't need surgery. I could complain to my husbands human resource department about this but ho... Sat, 6 Oct 2012 07:17:54 EST Moving forward So yesterday was pretty hard for me. I went through a wave of feelings. Sadness, anger, feel like quitting, negative self talk and emptiness. Pretty exhausting.

Today is a new start 244 . I'm going to do things differently. I will keep working out as I have found I love my walks everyday. I will continue to eat 5 servings of fruit and veggies everyday and I will drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. I am taking a break from tracking the foods that I eat. I know som... Thu, 4 Oct 2012 08:15:33 EST Disappointment For 3 weeks now I have watched what I ate, track it, work out at least an hour 6 days a week walking 5 miles a day. I drink at least 8 glasses of water, usually more, eat at least 5 servings of fruit and veggies. I have stayed within the limits sparkpeople has suggested. I have little to no stress (except for weight loss efforts), I get great sleep so I don't understand why I have lost only .2 lbs. Don't get me wrong I'm glad I lost but .2 seems pretty small for all the work that I have done.... Wed, 3 Oct 2012 07:04:19 EST Weigh in tomorrow.......fingers crossed Tomorrow is weigh in. I really hope it goes better than last week. I have tried SO hard this week. I have logged all foods, drank tons of water, exercised like crazy and done everything I possibly could to have a great outcome tomorrow.

If there is no loss................Note to self......Please, please don't give up. Please mourn briefly but pick yourself back up and keep going. If there are no inches lost - PLEASE I beg of you don't give up! The number on the scale does NOT defin... Tue, 2 Oct 2012 09:23:02 EST October already?! EEK! Its October already. Wow, where did the year go? Every year I would always dread October. I have always wanted to wear a cute/sexy non-plus size Halloween costume so every January 1st my New Years Resolution would be some plan/program/book to lose enough weight by Halloween. All that ended up doing was making me dread the whole month of October and see it as a HUGE failure since I NEVER even came close to what I said I would do back in January. This October is different. I still can't f... Mon, 1 Oct 2012 08:21:36 EST Dang those cookies!!!!! My kids had the day off and had some friends over. We went to the store to get some snacks for the day. The kids picked out the usual fruit, chips, soda and this HUGE container of cookies. I was hesitant to get the cookies because I LOVE them but figured they would all be gone with all of the kids here. The cookies did disappear but not before I had 8, yes 8 of them. Wow where did my self control go? Thankfully I only ate 8 because honestly I could have eaten the whole container. This has b... Thu, 27 Sep 2012 06:48:43 EST Disappointed I bought a new fancy scale that measures body fat, weight, percentage of water and what my daily calories should be. What a disappointment. The new scale shows 5.6 pounds MORE than the old scale. *Sigh* This is so frustrating. The scale shows my calorie intake should be 2800 a day, ummm that is probably not right. I really don't think I can lose weight eating that much. Good news is that I now have a more accurate starting point. Even if I don't lose weekly I can look to see if my body fat or... Wed, 26 Sep 2012 08:05:22 EST Weekly Weigh ins and me rambling on I've decided that I am will post my weekly weigh ins and body fat percentage on Wednesdays, starting tomorrow. I seen a lot of people do this and 99% of the time they lose weight every single week. Well that doesn't happen to me as much as I would LOVE it too. Some weeks I gain for different reasons. Regardless I am human and will make mistakes, weight loss is not easy, and the number on the scale doesn't define who I am as a person. I think this will be my mantra that I will repeat over an... Tue, 25 Sep 2012 09:01:21 EST Goals, Goals,Goals I decided it was time to set up some goals. This will not only keep me accountable but will give me something to strive for and to see some progress.

Small Goal:
Tell myself everyday I am worth it. I can do it. I can control the outcome (positive or negative) by my choices.

Medium Goal:
Lose 6 lbs by the end of October - should be very doable

Big Goal:
Total lost of 15 pounds by the end of 2012. I can do it!!

I would also like to earn... Mon, 24 Sep 2012 08:42:50 EST Time to set some goals I've decided that I need to go about this differently. I need to set up some goals. Big,medium and small. Hopefully this will keep moving me forward. I'm ready. Let's do this!! I've got my calendar all ready, everyday I will accomplish a goal.

I am so hard on myself, I am my worst enemy. I need to encourage , empower and inspire myself the same way I would a friend or family member. That is my daily goal. I will post a list of goals tomorrow, stay tuned. J/k. Not sure if anyone re... Thu, 20 Sep 2012 09:24:09 EST Weight loss is tough! But I am tougher.....somedays I have really been trying to eat right, count calories, exercise, explore sparkpeople, do all that I can to keep on the right track. Its frustating that I am not noticing the scale moving or clothing feeling looser. I'm trying to stay focused and motivated so I don't give up. I want this. I really want this.
Tue, 18 Sep 2012 12:26:24 EST New to blogging This my first blog and first blog entry WOOHOO! I'm not the best writer so here goes......I have started sparkpeople to help me lose weight by my 40th birthday. Thankfully I have 2 years to accomplish my goal. I have tried to lose weight numerous times, some with great luck, others not so lucky. No matter what I lost I always found the weight and added it back on and then some. This time I am going to do it! I will accomplish my goals! I will lose the weight AND keep it off. Of course it is e... Tue, 11 Sep 2012 08:03:29 EST
