Dec. 15, 2017 I’m sitting here this morning in the quietness of my home. Up before my husband, TV on, but more interested in reading various items, comments, articles, blogs, on my iPhone. My two dogs are on my blanket on my lap. This quiet time before the excitement of the day begins - kids in from Arkansas; also looking forward to a lunch date with a friend, then preparation for tomorrow’s early Christmas. But for this moment, I am pondering something I have been going through since mid s... Fri, 15 Dec 2017 09:24:07 EST September Through December Dec 14,2017 Hey to anyone reading this. Let’s see... Little Aaron changes almost every day. He says the cutest things! He’s so funny. Just this morning he came to get me as I was sitting in the living room. He said, “Hey Nana, You wanna crack open some fun?!” Hehe, How could I turn that down? And yesterday, we were eating out and Aaron asked me what Papa was eating. I told him, “A Salad.” He said, “Papa’s a Bunny!” I’m pretty much ready for Christmas except for some stocking stuffers a... Thu, 14 Dec 2017 08:54:11 EST Rehash of My Year Sep 24, 2017 Oh goodness! It's been almost a year since I've blogged on here. Reason being that I started a personal journal. It's an app called My Wonderful Days. A little more private (but not too private😉 because I realize nothing online is really private); and on it I feel I can write about my day to day events and activities and it may be monotonous and even boring, and only interesting to me, myself and I, but it helps me remember things. Especially all the cute things about my grand... Sun, 24 Sep 2017 17:43:44 EST Clothing Party, Bubble Lawn Mower, Riverboat Tour, Halloween, Cousin's Reunion 16 Oct 16 - 6 Nov 16

I went to a clothing party hostessed by an old friend. I usually don't go to party's like that, but I thought it was nice that she invited me. We've known each other since 4th grade and I never get to see her, so I just wanted to go see her mostly. I got to meet her two sweet daughters and saw her little sister too. I spent $80 dollars on an outfit though. Probably didn't need it, but on the other hand, a new dress for church was nice. I also won a pair o... Sun, 6 Nov 2016 18:36:50 EST Judging an Art Show, Memorizing Songs, Teaching Sunday School, Saving a House Finch 26 Sep 16 - 15 Oct 16

Time for a new blog. It's been over a month since I've written. Things are just plugging along. My eating is still not what it should be. However, I did make dinner the other night. (That's a rarity for me. My husband does almost all of the cooking). It was actually a SparkRecipe. Asian Chicken Salad. It was delicious. And good for us. We definitely need to cook more meals like that. Danny loved it. And I did too. My exercising had gotten slack f... I've been losing energy, passion, and desire for it. I've got to get back to working out more. Not just hooping, but my routine exercises. I'm feeling that my energy level is dropping. Plus I have hurt my right shoulder and having back flareups. Whether it was from doing too hard push-ups, or from some new tricks I've been doing in hooping. I keep aggravating the injuries. I'm still bike riding though. Just ... Mon, 26 Sep 2016 16:04:00 EST Kids Visit with Kids, Word Rocks 2 Sep - 11 Sep 16

The weather is starting to cool off here. It's 77 this morning. September up till now, though has been in the high 90s. So it's nice to see the signs of Fall on its way. It's a great time to ride bikes. Lisa and I rode one day this month, and another friend, Cathy, was finally able to go with me last Thursday. She wants us to let her know when we ride and if she's not working or spending time on weekends with her family, she wants to go again. We may end u... Or is it my computer?! I've been having trouble since last night.

Here goes...I'll keep on trying.

I took on another activity. I started teaching Sunday School. Five- and Six-year-olds. It's a small country church; so far, I've only had two of the same little girls. They are so cute. One is a little rambunctious and hard to keep settled, but I'm working ... Mon, 26 Sep 2016 12:00:13 EST Getting Back On the Bike; New Photo Project; Shingles Shot 1-21 Aug 16

Since July, we've only ridden bikes 2 or 3 times. It's been so hot and between the 3 of us riders, it's been hard to get us all together between vacations, and going to visit kids and other activities. Of course, I could ride alone, but where I live, there is not much enjoyable riding places to go and I don't like to ride (or walk) alone due to not feeling safe. But we are planning on riding tomorrow. The southern states have gotten a lot of rain. Further south, Ba... Sun, 21 Aug 2016 17:23:04 EST Bad Things Happen, But Feeling Better Now - Being Artistic 16-31 Jul 16

As I stated in my previous blog, it took us a few days to recuperate from our vacation. I'm good now, but there for a while, things were "off kilter" so-to-speak. I got to thinking that maybe my lack of energy was due to not taking my regular vitamins while we were gone and/or not exercising. I also believe I was depressed and stressed because of some bad things that have happened lately, i.e.,
* the little 2-year old baby who shot himself. Thankfully he's ho... Sun, 21 Aug 2016 16:07:32 EST Boston Vacation It's been almost a month since I've posted a blog. I post daily on a personal journal I have now which is the reason I'm not on here as much. I felt like I was getting too monotonous on here, so I decided to cut back. I then go on and summarize since the last time I blogged.

Aaron is doing well. I think he's at that "terrible two's" stage. Well he is two, duh! He's very busy all the time. We say, "he's wired today!" We have to watch him and chase him a lot lately. But that... Tue, 19 Jul 2016 10:17:49 EST During the Hot Month of June Well, this month has been pretty typical. Nothing out of the ordinary. I've ridden bikes 2 or 3 times but it is getting so hot and muggy. I told Lisa, I would be OK with waiting until September to get back on the bikes. But we will see. Maybe we will ride once a week if we can get up early enough, like maybe 6:00. If I don't ride, I will still do other types of exercise. Especially my hoop dance workouts.

I've been on a couple of photo shoots with my photo club once and with... Sun, 26 Jun 2016 21:54:33 EST Day with BFF, DeCluttering Photos, Adelynn Visiting, I spent one Friday with my friend, Jana. We shopped at JCP's, ate at TaMolley's, and then went to about 4 Nail Salon's before we found one that didn't take too long to wait. We got tickled while we were sitting in the massage chairs. Mine was beating me to death and then I looked over at Jana and hers was pounding on her. We started laughing out loud and the lady in the chair next to me started laughing, and the nail tech working on her was laughing. It was like we were having convulsion... Sun, 5 Jun 2016 17:26:18 EST Mini-Vacay - Little Rock 20-21 May 16

Lisa and I went to Little Rock for a mini vacation to ride our bikes on the Arkansas River Trail. It started out badly, but for the most part, we had a great time. But at first, we were thinking maybe this wasn't such a good idea and that we should turn around and go back home.

Before we were half-way there, she discovered that she lost her credit card. So we pulled over and she called her husband to see if she had left it at home. But it was nowhere to... So I picked it up and took it. A few minutes later, Danny asked me what happened to his pill. Oh no, I took his pill! It was his antibiotic! Come to find out, it was a sulfa pill and I'm allergic to sulfa. I called my step-daughter who is a pharmacist and left a voice mail. I called the pharmacist in town and he... Thu, 12 May 2016 20:17:25 EST More Recent Highlights 18 Apr - 12 May 16 These days, babysitting, bike riding, exercising (hoop dancing, yeah!), photography, guitar practice take up a lot of my time. The little one is doing well. Changing every day, picking up new words, trying to make sentences. He told Papa today, "Papa, barn, get it, key." He wanted him to take him riding on the lawn mower I think. So cute! He had his two-year Doctor appointment. It was all good. He did so good. Only cried when he got a shot but was over it quickly. Last time he didn't do w... Thu, 12 May 2016 20:01:32 EST What Are You Passionate About? The other day I was thinking philosophical thoughts. I got to wondering what makes people like the things they do. What sparks their passions. What do they love? So, tell me, what are your passions; what are your hobbies; who or what do you love? I love animals in all shapes and forms. Sometimes I feel I do better around animals than I do around people. I love the wildlife. I long for opportunities to photograph them but sadly, rarely get it. I love horses. I think they are the most beaut... We got rid of the old landscaping timber and are replacing it with sandstone rocks. It looks so much better and should last from here on out.

---

The grandbaby has been sick. The doctor tested him for strep throat, but luckily it was negative. He said it would just have to run its course and it did. He has been better for the last few days... Mon, 18 Apr 2016 15:53:00 EST I Don't Understand I guess this is a bit of a rant, but I can't understand people who trap innocent wildlife and then kill them. A certain person called me and said her husband had a raccoon in a trap. She suggested I bring Aaron over to see it. Well that didn't happen. I don't remember what I told her, but didn't say whether I would or not. Ok, so maybe it was getting in his garden, or maybe he considers it as a rodent, or whatever the reason. Why can't he just trap and relocate? Or just leave it alone. If... Fri, 8 Apr 2016 16:35:44 EST You Make Me Feel Like Dancing I decided to share my latest choreographed hoop dance video. Tue, 5 Apr 2016 22:37:01 EST A Spur-of-the-Moment; Unplanned, Beautiful Day I had an unexpected but fun spur-of-the-moment outing Saturday. My friend, Mary called wanting to go on a photo shoot to Cooper Lake near Sulfur Springs. I had never been and didn't even know about it. It was about a two-hour drive from my house. She said she didn't really expect me to go, but wanted to see if I might. I surprised her and said I would go. We decided to take some back roads to our destination instead of taking the Interstate. So we headed in that direction. On our firs... Tue, 5 Apr 2016 21:59:26 EST Passions, Hobbies, and Things That Come to Mind Fri, 1 Apr 16

I'm thinking that from now on, I'm gonna quit blogging about my day-to-day affairs or maybe just put them in a more private journal. They seem to have become a bit monotonous and similar. Mainly, I just want to start posting things I'm passionate about; things I love; things I love to do, the thoughts that come to mind; that kind of thing. The one thing I have on my mind right now is my hobbies. My "Me" time. I don't get a lot of it. I babysit, come and go with ... Fri, 1 Apr 2016 20:38:48 EST SNORE POLICE - STOP IT! If you snore, is it OK for your spouse to shake the bed to wake you up? And then to top it off, roll over and start snoring himself?! And then I worry about snoring again and then can't go back to sleep. I probably got only around 3 hrs last night. That's not the first time he's done that. I feel like it's a bit selfish. Am I wrong? I don't wake him up when he snores. If he gets too bad, I use my ear plugs. I don't think I snore all the time, but now I'm worrying that I'm getting worse.... Sat, 26 Mar 2016 22:10:39 EST Aaron, Roadhouse, Biking, and Hooping Thu-Sat 24-26 Mar 16 The other grandparents kept Aaron Wed night, Thu night and Friday night so Ashley could have some time to recover from her surgery. They would bring him home to be with her and Cody for a bit and then take him back with them. He finally went back home today. I got to talk to him on the speaker phone. Aw. So cute talking to a 22-month old on the phone. He was saying Nana, Papa, red trailer, and just chattering baby talk. So cute and sweet. We'll see them tomorrow and brin... Sat, 26 Mar 2016 21:30:55 EST Sleepover Thu - Wed 17-23 Mar 16 When I don't blog for almost a week, it's hard to keep up with stuff so I'll just try to remember what little I can. Let's see, last Friday my friend Jana and I went for a pedicure to a salon we hadn't been to before. It was so so but probably won't go back. Nice environment, but my guy just sort of rushed through it and her girl hurt her a little with the cutting clippers and then they just sort of left us hanging at the end. Oh well, our toes still look purty, He-H... Wed, 23 Mar 2016 21:16:47 EST Tornado Warning Oh my goodness! A tornado warning hit in our area this morning. It was so sudden. I first got an emergency warning on my phone. Then Red Alert came in on both my cell phone and my home phone. I grabbed the baby and headed towards the bathroom. But first I looked outside and took this quick snapshot. Then Danny came rushing home and made us get ready and take off to our kids storm shelter. So I grabbed ... Wed, 16 Mar 2016 20:07:26 EST My Friend Broke Her Hip Fri-Sun 11-13 Mar 16 Friday I hooped for an hour. I'm still working on a routine to "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" by Leo Sayer. Then we went to Texarkana and I got my new sunglasses. We ate at McAlesters. I love McAlesters. Great menu. I had a Hot Grilled Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Tortilla Soup. Yum! Then we went to visit a friend of mine from church. She's an elderly lady I sit with at church who had fallen Wednesday and broke her leg up close to her hip. She slept through our visit... Sun, 13 Mar 2016 17:52:26 EST Spring Break With Rain, Rain, Rain Sun-Thu 6-10 Mar 16 I don't remember if I've already posted, but we got Aaron a new toddler bed. It's a crib size inflatable bed. I bought it one day last week. I inflated it and set it up Sunday. I let my niece borrow the Pack N Play he has outgrown. It's Spring Break this week so Ashley's dad is off and her mom also took off. So they kept Aaron Mon and Tue. Danny was going to take his mom to the doctor and I was going to have a little time home alone. I had planned on exercising, hoop da... Thu, 10 Mar 2016 21:09:09 EST Eating, Shopping, Fish Fry, Bike Ride Thu-Sat 3-5 Mar 16 Aaron did better at the Junction Thursday. The week before he cried when a little girl scared him when she cried. But this time he ate good and didn't stress too much. At one point he covered his eyes and watered up a little, but he made it. He even got down and ran down the little hallway where his favorite picture is. He likes to look at it when we eat there. It's a country scene with a tractor and a house and barn. He loves tractors and barns. Friday I went to town wi... Sat, 5 Mar 2016 11:03:08 EST Hopeful Trip Before End of Spring Sat-Wed 24 Feb - 2 Mar 16 Saturday, and then again on Monday, Lisa and I rode bikes. We did 8.5 and 9.8 miles. We explored 2 bike trails in Txk we had never been on. One at the local park and one near the hospital. The one at the park was nice and we were able to make several rounds in it to total the 8+ miles. The second trail wasn't very long, so we rode some in that local neighborhood and then got back on the trail at the end of the ride. Both days were very pleasant weather days. In th... Wed, 2 Mar 2016 21:36:17 EST Baby Don't Cry Tue-Fri 23-26 Feb 16 We've been home all week up to Thu when we carried Aaron to The Junction. Well...there was a little girl there who cried out and it scared Aaron. He cried so I had to try and console him. I carried him out to the foyer and tried to settle him. It worked a little and we went back to the table; he ate a little but he was so stressed and he started back up again. I don't know why crying babies scare him so. I so hope it soon will pass. We headed on home afterwards and he ... Fri, 26 Feb 2016 16:31:33 EST Kids Run The Line Too. A Kid's Half Marathon. Wed-Mon 17-22 Feb 16 It's been almost a week since I've blogged. I'm slipping. I finished Day 7 of my 30-Day Strength Challenge. Today was a light day. It was only stretch exercises. The last couple of days I was really sore but today it seems to have worked itself out. The rest has been my typical exercise routine. My weight has jumped back up mainly because I haven't been tracking it. Got to get back on that band wagon. It's hard for me to think back a whole week. The only thing I c... Mon, 22 Feb 2016 15:44:09 EST Valentine's Day Sun-Tue 14-16 Feb 16 Sunday was Valentine's Day. We had really already celebrated on Friday when we went out to Texas Roadhouse. But for Sunday, we just went to New Boston and ate at Subway and did some shopping at Walmart. And I bought my mother-in-law a red & white heart balloon to carry to her along with some photos for her to put up in her room. Then we went by to give them to her and visit a while. We didn't get to give Aaron and the kids their's until the next day because they were so b... Tue, 16 Feb 2016 21:03:30 EST Bought a New Guitar, Another Dog On My Mind Sun-Sat 7-13 Feb 16 Sun-Thu was a pretty quiet few days. We had Aaron all week. We got out long enough to eat lunch Thursday, but I was home other than that being entertained by him. Such a cute age. After he left Thursday, we ran to Walmart for some groceries and I got some Valentine's for the kids. Friday, Danny encouraged me to go back and look at guitars again. So we went to Pete's Music Store. He showed me one and it was nice. I asked to look at some more. He showed me another and as... Sat, 13 Feb 2016 21:52:01 EST Looking for a Guitar Thu-Sat
4-6 Feb 16
Thursday, it ended up that we didn't have the baby, so Danny and I decided we wanted to go do something. I suggested we go to Magnolia, AR, for a Wildlife Photography Seminar at SAU which was from 7:00-8:30. We could leave sometime after lunch, go to the Seminar; we could carry Savannah with us, & get a motel for the night. It would be fun. Well...he wasn't fired up about it, so I didn't push the issue. I wish I would have just packed up and went myself. Nex... Sat, 6 Feb 2016 22:41:13 EST Bike Ride in Paris Mon-Wed
1-3 Feb 16
Lisa and I rode bikes in Paris, TX on Monday. We had a good time; rode 10.5 miles. The only problem was over half of the trail was loose gravel. Several parts of the other end of the trail is still under maintenance. Not the best riding conditions that we like. But it was still fun. It was a beautiful day. Temperature was in the 70s. We had lunch at a Mexican Restaurant, and after the ride went in Belk's for a while. We were home by about 4:30.

... Wed, 3 Feb 2016 11:42:11 EST Celebrated Our Anniversary One More Day Sat-Sun 30-31 Jan 16 I was able to get in a much better hoop workout Saturday morning. I finally got my 3 routines re-memorized. I had forgotten some of it recently due to inactivity since my bike wreck. I'm better finally. Then I did some freestyle. That was fun. I've learned enough "tricks" to be able to flow from one movement to the next a little more fluidly. It's time to learn some new moves and create a new routine. We didn't go to Red Lobster for our anniversary Friday like we usua... Sun, 31 Jan 2016 16:12:01 EST Happy Anniversary To Us! Thu-Fri 28-29 Jan 16 We could tell Aaron is feeling better from having his tubes put in. He was so comical yesterday. He would do things like trying to get on my laptop. He knows I won't let him play with it yet and then we would scold him and then he would take off running bent over with his arms behind him. And I let him play with those little rubber pages with sticker-like flowers and butterflies and letters. He would get handfuls and stack them all up and then he would laugh out loud lik... Fri, 29 Jan 2016 20:45:52 EST Welcome to the World, Baby Cooper! Mon-Wed 25-27 Jan 16 Let's see. I guess the only thing of note really is that we have a new baby in the family. Cooper was born Yesterday, 26 Jan 16. He's my great-nephew. New baby brother to little Chloe and also to big-sister Katie. So Aaron's no longer the littlest one, He-He! I went to see him in hospital about 2 hrs after he was born. So sweet, precious, and handsome! Also yesterday, I went to a photo club training class. We learned about replacing a dull sky with more vibrant sky and... Wed, 27 Jan 2016 17:03:55 EST Movie, On The Border Fri-Sun 22-24 Jan 16 Friday I went with a couple of my friends to lunch and a movie, "Sisters". Saturday Danny and I went to Texarkana and ate at On the Border and then to Academy where he bought some new jeans. Sunday other than the usual routine, I put on some new Jamberry nails. Other than that I've been home just puttin' around doing a little this and that. My workout was hooping Saturday. I'm having trouble getting my "mojo" back though. I just can't seem to get back the ener... Sun, 24 Jan 2016 17:45:21 EST Work Out, Healthy Recipe, Tubes for the Baby Tue-Thu 19-21 Jan Tue was my back/knee workout, I skipped Wed, and today I worked out to some Sparkpeople workouts. Pretty moderate. For dinner last night, I made that healthy recipe that I've had planned. It's called Harvest Wheat Berry Salad. It was really good. I've never had Wheat Berry's before. It had that, plus Pumpkin Seeds, Dried Apricots, Dried Cranberries, Chopped Apples, and a from-scratch Vinaigrette Dressing. Very good and healthy as an added bonus. I fixed Grilled Pork Chops... Thu, 21 Jan 2016 14:31:45 EST All About the Hair My hair stylist I've had for at least the last 15+ years retired last December. I had decided at first I would go to a woman whom I had read about several years ago. I've kept her name and number in my phone all this time. She is supposed to be able to cut your hair according to your face shape. The only problem is, I've been spoiled to only paying $30 for a cut and color. I knew I would never find another stylist that cheap, but the new stylist charges $48 for just the cut and $50 for the co... Thu, 21 Jan 2016 14:15:40 EST New Recipe, Downton Abby, More Shopping Sat-Mon 16-18 Jan 16 I've been home mostly through the weekend. We just went late Saturday to Walmart where I got the rest of the ingredients for my healthy nut and fruit salad I'm planning on making. Sunday, a typical day of resting mostly, and binging on "Downton Abby" season 5. I downloaded the whole season off Amazon. Going to buy season 6, the last season, also after this. It's a really good show. Love the period acting and scenery. I worked out hooping for about 30 minutes. Today, Mo... Mon, 18 Jan 2016 18:01:14 EST Went To the Cemetery, Discovered The Granery Fri, 15 Jan 16 Busy day today. After I finally got out of my recliner, I did almost 30 min hooping. Yikes. It aggravated my shoulder a bit and so I took a couple Tylenol. But then got up and got dressed to go to the cemetery to put flowers on my mom's and dad's grave. Today is 5 years since I lost Daddy. Mom has been gone almost 15 years. I can't believe she's been gone that long. I always feel such a sense of peace when I go there. But also a little sadness. Then we circled around to town ... Fri, 15 Jan 2016 18:48:13 EST Morris' Funeral and Going to a Movie Wed-Thu 13-14 Jan 16 Yesterday was Morris' funeral. Danny was a pallbearer so I went by myself. Cody stayed home that morning and kept Aaron. It was a very nice funeral. It's a big family. He was one of 13 kids and from there came many cousins. One of the cousins can sing beautifully and she sang at the funeral and then she spoke. She did a wonderful job recounting some anecdotes about Morris. Another cousin also sang at the graveside services, but I didn't go to that so I missed a beautiful ... Thu, 14 Jan 2016 13:57:21 EST Aaron Still Sick, Bike Ride, RIP Morris. Mon-Tue 11-12 Jan 16 Yesterday we didn't have Aaron because his mom stayed home with him and carried him to the doctor. He was diagnosed with a pretty bad ear infection in his left ear. So he's back on antibiotics and has an appt with an ENT specialist on Monday. He may have to have tubes. But hopefully not. I spent the day working out some, hooping, and then I put a couple things on and eBay to try and sell. We had dumplings for lunch and BBQ ribs for dinner. I tracked what I a... I worked on my dance routine #1 and made sure I could remember it all. I had to remind myself on some of the moves. And part of it, I can't do yet, i.e., where I put my arm through the hoop and then drop my head through. It's still too painful with my shoulder. Gonna keep trying though.

Saturday, we took off to town and did a little shopping and just did some things... Sun, 10 Jan 2016 21:48:07 EST
