New Hobby, Grand Opening, Didn't Win Wed
8 Apr 15
Aaron is getting closer and closer to walking it seems. Before, when I held him by one hand, and walked with him, it was hard for him to keep his balance. But just today, he is keeping his balance much better. It seems like he just suddenly figured it out. So I suspect it won't be long before he is walking.

Thu-Fri
9-10 Apr 15
I think I've mentioned before that I've sort of picked up a new hobby. It's tied in with my love of photography and nat... Sun, 12 Apr 2015 17:42:50 EST Easter, Exhaustion from Riding, Picking My Guitar Back Up Sun
5 Apr
Easter
It was cold and rainy on this Easter holiday. I guess the kiddos hunted indoors this year! Our little one is too young this year. We just carried his Easter gift to him. A stuffed bunny, a Dr. Seuss book and an egg with money in it. We found a cute felt bag shaped like a frog and put paper-shredded grass in it. He had more fun with the grass than he did with the gifts. He-He!

I was still pretty tired from bike riding the day before (don't know... Sun, 12 Apr 2015 17:20:41 EST Shopping and Biking Thu
2 Apr 15
Aaron is learning to scream like Mariah Carey! It's cute now but hope he never does it in a public place. He could break glass with that, LOL! It's not because he's mad or anything. He's just learned that he can do it. It's funny.

Fri
3 Apr 15
We went to town. First stop was lunch at McAlester's. Then to Target for Easter gifts and some baby food and stuff. We walked into the baby food aisle and there was the kids with the baby sitting in the... Sun, 12 Apr 2015 17:05:44 EST My Top Priority Mon
30 Mar 15
I had a chance to get outside again and identify a couple more wildflowers. I took Savannah for a walk, and did some more work on my photo editing.

Tue
31 Mar 15
Danny was gone most of the day to a doctor appointment and some other errands. Allergy season is upon us and it's bothering Danny and Aaron. Aaron was good all day, but he slept a lot and wanted to be held a lot. I could tell he didn't feel well. But we did fine. Just a little tired.... Sun, 12 Apr 2015 16:40:33 EST Enjoyable, Feeling Accomplished Weekend Fri - Sun
27-29 Mar 15

Friday I did some odd jobs around the house. I balanced my checkbook and dust mopped the rooms with wood floors. Where do all those dust bunnies come from!!!

Saturday, was what I call a good "Me day"; at least for most of the morning and early afternoon. Danny was out and about mowing the yard and stuff, so I was able to just do what I wanted without interruptions and such. I did a one-hour workout, a one-hour bible-study session, and wa... Sun, 29 Mar 2015 15:40:08 EST Two Photo Events This Week Sat, 21 Mar - Thu, 26 Mar
It's been a fairly quiet week. Just keeping the baby mostly. We're still not getting him out yet due to it still being flu season. The doctor told his mama that it was good that we were keeping him in. What with that and with the measles threat. Hopefully next month, we can start getting him out more.

His new sounds - "Aah Ooh; Da De (Daddy)!

Other than that, on Saturday, my photo group was either invited or welcomed at Ellis Home an... Thu, 26 Mar 2015 22:58:37 EST Songs By Memory - Challenging, But Fun! I've posted before that I've been trying to memorize songs for the last few months. One reason was just because. Other reasons are to help work on my memory as I get older; to be able to sing to my grand baby; and because it's kind of fun to challenge myself. I've learned a Christmas song ("Santa Baby"); a couple of older songs that I've always known parts of and wanted to learn the whole songs ("I Saw the Light", "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing"); an old jingle I've always liked (the "RC C... At Target, we found a little pillow for Aaron. His mom said he has one at home and he cuddles with it in his Pack n Play, so we thought we would give it a try to see if it would help him stay in it longer. I may have already stated this, but he won't stay in it long anymore. He wants to be held all the time. So we thought we would try it.

<img src="http://photos-ak... Sat, 14 Mar 2015 20:18:57 EST Danny Babysitting, No Water, Marley's Loose, Tue
3 Mar 15
Usual workout. I made it to 2:00 minutes on the Plank Challenge. I'm not sure if I'll go past that or not. It may be too hard for me at my age to go past that and I'm wondering if it's worth it or necessary. I didn't get my jump rope in because I would make too much noise and wake the baby up. I need to figure a better workout discipline.

Aaron is starting to babel more. His mama was telling me he had them laughing this weekend babbling and laughing and... Sat, 7 Mar 2015 21:40:32 EST What Do You Do When You Can't Agree Sat
28 Feb 15
It was a normal Saturday morning. Same routine except I didn't have time to workout because we left and went out for lunch at TaMolley's. Danny was going stir-crazy, so we just decided to do that. I had tried Friday afternoon to talk him into going to Longview and go to a bookstore/restaurant called Barron's Bookstore and spend the night there and bring the dog with us. But we decided the weather was too bad and then he said we could go to Shreveport for the day. ... Sat, 7 Mar 2015 21:00:54 EST We Have Snow! Starting a Jump Rope Challenge Wed
25 Feb 15
Ashley decided to stay home because of the weather and because she's hurt her foot, so we didn't have the baby. The baby had pulled up on a bar stool, and turned it over, and she tried to catch it to keep from hurting him and it ended up falling on the top of her foot right above her big toe. She may have to go get it X-Ray'd.

So I did a longer workout. My normal back/knee routine, plus Sparkpeople workout, plus 30 seconds Jump Rope. I'll increase 10 ... But we ate out for lunch & dinner. McAlester's won out over Chinese food, so that was a minor victory.

I tracked a few daily exercises from daily Sparkpeople emails in addition to my regular back/knee PT.

Did some Bible study before Danny got home from working on a broken fence pole and then jumped up and got dressed and we took off to Texarkana. Fri, 20 Feb 2015 21:53:42 EST Plank, Eating Today, Baby Progress Well, I did 90 seconds again on the Plank Challenge. It's pretty hard for me. I'll probably never make it to the full 4 minutes, but I'll keep on trying at my own pace. I read some stuff online about it. In general, I read that it is good for you, but you have to do it correctly or you can injure yourself. Especially the back and shoulders. And I noticed my left shoulder when I move it certain ways, it hurts slightly, so I really need to be careful and do it correctly. Need to quit whe... Thu, 19 Feb 2015 22:40:21 EST Savannah to the Vet, Keeping the Baby, Plank Challenge Sunday
16 Feb 15
It's getting cold around here again. In the 70's yesterday and in the 30's today! Ugh!!

My plan for today is to balance the checkbook, sweep/mop the floors, work on my pics, and paint my nails. Let's see what gets checked off that list...which ended up only balancing the checkbook and working on my pics.

Mon-Tue
16-17 Feb 15
Monday was a holiday - President's Day. Yesterday my friend called me around 10:00 and wanted me to go to town with her, so I jumped in the shower, got dressed and took off with her. We went to Kohl's, Kirkland's, then decided we wanted to find a new place to eat. We decided on Slim Chicken's. Neither of us had ever eaten there. was OK I guess, but it wasn't a Chic Filet or a KFC. But still enjoyed it...time with the Bestie! Then to Sam's and then to her ... Didn't buy anything though. Just looking and killing time t... Thu, 5 Feb 2015 18:05:02 EST Songs By Memory I'm enjoying the songs I've memorized lately. It's fun to sing to the baby, to sing in the shower, to sing in the car, sing songs from memory. I've never been able to remember things easily and so decided to try this to help my ability to remember...boost the brain power. I'm fascinated at how people can do it. How singers can remember all the words to all the songs they sing. My voice is no song bird, but it's still fun. I've got 4 down pretty good plus one other I already knew. I've ... Yesterday we got up early and went for breakfast at McDonald's. I got the McGriddle with OJ. At least it was OJ instead of Coke. I should have split it to make 2 meals out of it. I skipped lunch. Mary came over and we ate Mexican food at the local restaurant. Then she wanted me to ride her around and show her the town. So we went to our town's museum. I've lived here over 30 years and have never seen what all is in there. I may have been inside the building before, but never to really look at the displays and stuff. The ride was on State Highways and on County Roads, so we were sharing the roads with traffic. We had hooked up with another man, Chip; and another woman, Ginger. Towards the second half of the route, we were all riding single file and we heard a long, loud honk coming up behind us. It was a man in a truck. He passed me going fast, then I saw him pass the man in front of me. He was too close to him. Chip could have reached over and touched h... Thu, 30 Oct 2014 21:03:26 EST We Did It! I only made around 20. It took us about 4 1/2 hours to finish. My knee started to give out, so I hitched a ride with the SAG part of the way and then waited on her and the 2 folks we hooked up with along the way, and then finished the last 5 miles or so on a trail instead of the road. That was the prettiest part, but by then my knee was re... We ended up buying a road bike, or I think it's actually called a hybrid. They're not good for gravel or dirt trails, but they can be ridden on roads, paved trails, and hard dirt surfaces. We're looking forward to our first event coming soon. The place we bought them from, they advised us on what to get, and sized them for us. I got a small and Lisa got a medium, but we got the same type bike. We got helmets, shorts and jerseys, rear-view m... Fri, 10 Oct 2014 22:02:12 EST Getting Ready to Buy a Bike Yesterday, my friend, Mary came over for a visit, so I really enjoyed having her over. We sat outside on the back porch with the baby. He gave her plenty of his jolly smiles. He was so pleasant yesterday. We had him on his tummy on his pallet earlier and he was just oohing, awing, smiling, and laughing. He was rocking on his tummy like a sailboat on the water and looking up at us and smiling so big. Today, he's still being good, but he seems to be really sleepy, but fighting it. He onl... I did better this time than I did Friday. My legs didn't ache afterwards. But my friend said it felt harder for her this time. I told her it all probably has to do with if we got enough rest, if we ate right, and typically just how our bodies are feeling at the time.

When I got home, I spent about an hour weeding my flower gardens. It was time for his 4-month checkup and his second round of shots. That was kind of hard to see. He started crying right away when he first saw the doctor and the PA that came in with her. She was in training with the doctor. Aaron started crying pretty quickly and the doctor told the PA, "Remember, 4 months - Stranger Danger." I'm thinking she meant that... We loaded him up in his little car seat and went to the Junction for lunch. He did really good. We had to wake him up from a nap to leave home. I put his outfit on, and put him in his car seat and off we went. He did so good. He started fussing after a while, but I picked him up and held him for a few minutes and then put him back in his car seat and we never heard anymore fussing. It was all three of them plus one of their wives. I was face-to-face with one of them. I said, "Hello, famous people." Then I grabbed Danny and pointed them out to him. I had to ask him their names because I couldn't remember. So then I got my phone out, turned back around and... I slept sound until 8:00 which is rare for me to sleep that late. I only woke up once during the night and went right back to sleep. I skipped Bible class, but made it to church. The rest of the day was pretty quiet. I worked on my vacation photos. The kids brought Aaron over. He's already starting to teethe, so he's been a little cranky the last two days. We had already been told that Savannah had to spend most of her days outside because she had peed in the house. She didn't know if it was rebellion or not. Because she is house trained. She would put her outside and then she wo... Thu, 4 Sep 2014 21:14:49 EST Our Alaska Vacation Thursday
21 Aug 14
Seattle

We got to Love Field on time.
