You could say I'm fat and happy but the extra weight makes me so tired that I don't want to work out. It's a vicious cycle. Real life always seems to get in the way. The OG's motorcycle battery died so I had to take him to a couple places to see if they had one. That meant that I missed my first zumba class. It would have been so easy to stay home after getting that battery. I barely had any sleep in me. Lately it's been any excuse! I ... Tue, 9 Sep 2014 12:13:08 EST I'm a travelin' fool http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5753780 Been trying to take mini vacations attached to weekends and chore trips, like moving Lauren into her new apartment two weeks ago. Just did another one by going back to the river with my youngest and then taking her to SeaWorld/Aquatica in San Antonio. Aquatica just added an aviary. We love interacting with the animals. The dolphins at SW were awesome. There was a baby dolphin! Mama was teaching him how to roll so we got to see their bellies a bunch of times. Soooo sweet! Petting stingrays i... Tue, 5 Aug 2014 16:57:24 EST Vacation at the beach http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5730763 Went back "home" to South Padre Island. I grew up 22 miles from there in Brownsville. Going to the beach was part of our routine down there. I miss it! The water was really clean although choppy and cool due to the storms we had. The massive seaweed influx was not bad down there like it is in Galveston since they have more sand there to cover it up with. Out of sight and out of smelling range when it's covered up. Yay! I got to swim every day. I like to swim in the surf against the waves and ... Wed, 2 Jul 2014 17:51:49 EST Great start to the week! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5719131 I've been feeling soooo draggy lately (for months actually) and when I'm tired, I eat.... bad stuff. So I realize my trigger is fatigue which just makes me fatter and more tired so I'm in a vicious circle. The OG comes home late so by the time I get to bed it's later than I would like. I have to get in bed at least an hour before I want to go to sleep so I can read for a bit and unwind. I was just exhausted last week and I'm not getting enough done at work or in my personal life. So I told OG... Mon, 16 Jun 2014 13:14:41 EST Wellness Fair http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5715919 We had a wellness fair at work today! Got some free bloodwork that I did well on even though I've been eating way too many treats. Total Cholesterol was 191. I'm grateful for that because I always manage to be just over 200. I wasn't fasting either. Of course I'm too fat at 175 now with a BMI of 27.6 and a cringe-worthy 44.4% of body fat!!!! That's almost where I started fat-wise! Ugh! Meanwhile, the OG keeps telling me how beautiful and stunning I am. I know that if he said, "Hey, you ne... Wed, 11 Jun 2014 16:40:16 EST Great news! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5714398 Well, Lauren graduated as you all know and she accepted a contract position. However, after making a big deal out of how busy they were the hours disappeared after the first week. Guess they couldn't pay her after all. In fact, she still hasn't been paid at all. So she continued to interview and was offered a very lucrative contract position but it would also last no longer than six months. I was grateful for the job offers but not looking forward to her disappointment at the short terms of t... Mon, 9 Jun 2014 17:53:07 EST Feeling blah.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5706210 I have zero reasons to complain. Oldest daughter is graduated and employed. Youngest is as sweet as she can be and the OG adores me and dotes on me. My energy has been low lately. Going to get an mri of my neck tomorrow and then get cortisone shots in my neck. Being in chronic pain from this or that ailment is taking its toll. I really need to watch my food intake but have not been inspired to do so! At least Saturday of memorial day weekend we went to the beach. It was a very long day though... Thu, 29 May 2014 17:55:57 EST Ow my neck...no! my stomach! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5698608 Had another setback with my tummy. Ate a barbecue sandwich while I was out of town for Lauren's graduation. It was my last day there and OG and decided to go tubing down the Blanco. Tons of fun and some good exercise. No drinking, either! We were the only couple of lovebirds there among all the college kids, one bachelorette party and one sold middle aged dude (weird!). I did some back paddling waiting for OG to catch up and I was sore for three days! Guess I need to work on upper body fitnes... Mon, 19 May 2014 16:50:33 EST Where does the time go??? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5685126 It's been two weeks since I've blogged and just over 22 years since I gave birth to my talented beautiful daughter who will be graduating from college (TX State) on May 8 with a degree in Communications Design. And guess what? She has a JOB!!!!! She just started interviewing a couple weeks ago and the first place she went to offered her a part time contract job (no benefits) at a very nice design firm in Austin. It's just what she wanted to get her career onto a great start. She still has se... Thu, 1 May 2014 16:38:25 EST Two hour workouts http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5674322 Soooo I've gained back a bunch of my weight from all the wining and dining lately. It's time to get back to business. I've been doing back to back Zumba and Zumba step on Mondays and I am NOT a monday person. Now they've added a Zumba step with one of my favorite instructors on Wed at 7pm followed by an 8pm zumba class by someone who has always intimidated me because she's also a bodybuilder. I had a bad experience with a superfit instructor who treated Zumba more like it was boot camp. Not f... Thu, 17 Apr 2014 11:41:55 EST Been a Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5673006 Things are going great with the old guy. He realizes he dodged a bullet. He has brought the topic up several times and mentions how stupid that was. He's been coming home early every night. That's one way for him to stay off line where there's temptation. I know he's addicted to the online charge you get from websites. I feel it from FB and it has become a huge timewaster for me but I can't resist checking to see what's going on. When I was online dating I remember the excitement of seeing wh... Tue, 15 Apr 2014 18:28:27 EST Betrayal, Humiliation and Forgiveness http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5667554 OK, so you ladies know something bad happened. It was between me and the OG. He is so sweet and he really loves me a bunch but he's not perfect. You all just see the happy parts, which is 99% of our relationship. He has issues with anxiety and depression. He and I met online on a free dating website, POF. He had been using the site for years, I guess and would come back to it from time to time to check on "old friends". That's what his handle was when we met online. He "favorited" me. He did... Tue, 8 Apr 2014 17:02:01 EST Yay the weather is finally improving! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5661944 Had a nice relaxing weekend with the OG. His birthday was on Sunday. He's now 58 so I can say he's 7 years older than me... Hi Grandpa!! I'm really trying to increase my workouts and keep moving. My thin clothes are getting too tight and I don't want to go keep sliding. Luckily, Monday is my 2hr workout day with Zumba followed by Zumba Step. OMG that combination is brutal!! I sweat like a maniac!! I take an icepack and a wet towel to try and keep my face and neck cool between songs. I have r... Tue, 1 Apr 2014 17:13:23 EST Guess What Day it IS?? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5651521 We're already halfway through the week. Me and the OG live for the weekends. We watch the weather forecast and hope that it's a day we can frolic at the zoo or something. Those days are rare as y'all know but even if we stay inside we love lounging around the house. OG will put the TV on some old black and white movie and talk through the whole thing with trivia about the actors or the setting while I point out plot holes and how terrible the acting is.

TEST RESULTS: I got an ext... Wed, 19 Mar 2014 11:39:22 EST Hurry up Spring!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5650143 I know everyone else is having unseasonably cold weather but down here is where everyone usually comes to get away from all that at Spring Break. However, it hasn't been very much fun. OG and I took advantage of one lonely Saturday where we had perfect weather. We rode his motorcycle down to the Zoo and it seemed like all the animals were so happy to see better weather that they were extra active. OG (Old Guy) is such a kid at heart that he's a joy to be around. He wanted to take all the anim... Mon, 17 Mar 2014 17:06:53 EST I'm not hungry...so why do I still want food? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5620580 Boy do I love food! There, I said it. Yes, I'm probably tired or bored but sometimes I'm just at home perfectly content and just knowing there are treats in the fridge is enough to set me off. I feel compelled to make cookie just because I know there are ingredients in the pantry! Sometimes it's a curse that I know how to cook. When I'm being good I modify recipes to be more healthy but stay out of the way if I'm in the mood to cook junk food. I know I'm not hungry but I want deliciousness an... Mon, 10 Feb 2014 15:51:17 EST The Awful Truth http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5592358 2013 was full of ups and downs. Had the highest highs (met the Old Guy!) and lowest lows (almost didn't get my house and my family disowned me in the process). Both of these things contributed to my weight gain this year, combined with missing too many workouts due to the whole house thing, injuries and dating. Being wined and dined is fun but it really took my focus away! As a result I have regained an eye-watering 13 pounds!! How did it happen so quickly? Most of it happened after this summ... Mon, 13 Jan 2014 12:29:25 EST Rehabbing my knee http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5560707 A couple weeks ago when the Old Guy (OG) came back from vacation I went back to Zumba determined to not miss so many classes. Well, it seems they changed the schedule and after my Monday night zumba class we usually have Zumba toning for 45 minutues. Whenever I tell people that I do back to back classes for almost 2 hrs they react like I'm running a marathon or something! I used to think that was impossible too so I understand the reaction but zumba toning is slower paced and you use weights.... Mon, 9 Dec 2013 17:25:52 EST New Pics and the RenFest http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5555198 Still staying super busy on the weekends with the Old Guy. We saw tons of sites in Baltimore and Washington. I was able to get two Christmas trees up and decorated before Thanksgiving so I could concentrate on cooking and cleaning then going to the Texas Renaissance Festival closing weekend. It was soooo packed. It usually take 1.5 hrs to get there but this time it was 3 long hours! Good thing Victor was there to keep me entertained. The kids didn't like it very much. He kept playing "old man... Mon, 2 Dec 2013 15:46:04 EST Wow! Two weeks flew by! So far, so good. Also, Mango my shy orangey bunny is finally totally cage free in the new house since he's being such a good boy about using his litter box and not chewing stuff. I'll take some pics of him in his new habitat this weekend. It's gonna be a busy weekend. My hot tub is arriving on Saturday. It'll be so good to have those jets on my neck! Fri, 4 Oct 2013 15:39:45 EST The weekend after my birthday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5490406 Well, the boyfriend has been very attentive after his freak out/sleepathon to avoid real life. He's cute but not perfect. Anyways, all is good and forgiven after we had a nice chat about expectations and communication. He really is a sweety. He ordered me a motorcycle jacket and it arrived this week. I love it! I'm a biker babe!! We had a nice relaxing weekend of not doing much but gazing upon each other and giggling like lovebirds. We made healthy smoothies and for "dinner" went split a pla... Thu, 19 Sep 2013 17:00:00 EST Birthday Weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5482782 Yup. I'm now 51 years old. Had a fun Friday night date wih the old guy. He took me out on the motorcycle and gave me my own helmet. I love being on the back of that bike. It's just so much fun! The hostess at the restaurant saw us bring our helmets in and said, "That's so cool!" I agree!!! Spent Saturday being lazy in the morning then started working on the house, cleaning and organizing stuff. Still getting settled. Sunday was my actual birthday. Was supposed to go out with the old guy agai... Wed, 11 Sep 2013 13:51:56 EST Tummy Diagnosis- Pancreatitis!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5470055 Well, I was at work on Friday feeling pretty tired. I wasn't really feeling it but I got to work on time and was in my chair pretending to work but just didn't feel good. Then the room started going dark and I felt much weaker. My stomach had been bothering me for a while and was doing it's bloating thing. I thought the bloating was the reason my back was hurting too... like pregnant women feel from the size of their stomach. Yes, I bloat pretty bad... I got up to stretch my back and almost c... Thu, 29 Aug 2013 15:57:24 EST A New Home and a New Start! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5437413 Well my buyers from hell finally got their act together but even on the actual closing day they managed to screw up. Even though every title company stresses that you bring a cashier's check in the exact amount to closing, they showed up expecting to pay with a personal check! What morons these people are!!! This is the kind of stupidity I've been having to deal with. They had to come back and close at 7:30 at night! Who closes that late?? I waited until I was fairly certain that they were go... Mon, 29 Jul 2013 13:24:08 EST Why is house buying so stressful?? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5396529 My buyers have drug the process down so slow that my new house is now complete and the builder wants me to close. However, my buyers won't be ready (again) until mid July!!!! that means that I am now scrambling to qualify for my home with a current house note and no proceeds from the sale of my existing home. this calls for some yelling and some creative financing. I think I will sell my car and drive my kid's car for a while to make this happen plus get a short term loan from my dad and jus... Thu, 20 Jun 2013 17:01:25 EST New house, new guys, new roomy, new start http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5368090 Well, the house selling/buying process has been interesting as I'm sure anyone who has been through this can tell you. We changed the move date from May 30 to June 13 since there were construction delays due to weather on my end and credit problems with the buyers on their end. Yesterday I heard that they were wanting to change closing to June 30! They are actually changing mortgage companies!! Yikes that's scary! I try not to dwell on it though.
Finally got the pool cleaned, chemicals ... Sun, 26 May 2013 02:33:17 EST Get with the program, Kathy! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5365221 been very good about avoiding the boytoy. He still calls me but now I can tell him that I have a date. I've been seeing my handsome older gentleman at work every day and one day on the weekends. I'm still dating another younger (43 yr old) guy but he doesn't make me fee like my professor does. Prof knows I'm seeing other people and he's OK with it. He wants me to enjoy my freedom since he knows what I went through and that I haven't been single that long. He loves my smile, my laugh, my body... Been very busy with cleaning the house for showings, personal training and the craziness that is my dating life. Well Mario the boytoy and I had such a rocky relationship. He wanted alot more than I could give and he is waaay too immature for me. He doesn't even understand that he has to bring something to the table but he can't hold a steady job, doesn't have a car, cellphone always gets cut off, blah blah blah. I still couldn't tear myself off of him due ... Fri, 26 Apr 2013 14:31:36 EST Yay! I have new Sparkfriends! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5310303 Thank you to the new people I reached out to recently who have accepted my friend requests. I kinda felt like I was just talking to myself and a couple of my long time SP friends since I've seen so many people come and go. I have a weird and crazy life right now but I realize it's a transition so I'll enjoy it while I can. I stepped out publicly with the boytoy by taking him with me to the Zumbathon and my instructor friends took note. 246 Having him there made me work out even ... Wed, 3 Apr 2013 14:48:22 EST Adventures in Cougartown.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5303543 Found out the latest boytoy is actually 27, not 28. He was rounding up because his birthday is in April. He's kind of wild and playful and immature for his age. I can be that way too but I also know when it's time to act like a grown up. He hasn't been properly hometrained as we say down here. He's so infatuated I compare him to a puppy with a new chew toy. Good grief we have fun, then he does something stupid so I throw him out, then he apoligizes and starts with the lovey dovey talk mixed i... Thu, 28 Mar 2013 17:46:09 EST Surprise!! A new boytoy/poolboy for me! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5282758 I've been soooo busy working on the house and cleaning it for showings that I haven't been exercising. I used the excuse of the cortisone injections in my neck to stop exercising completely. I could have walked or done the stairmaster but I just didn't have time for the gym. Also, with the Rodeo and so many free chances to go to fabulous concerts and the VIP clubs I have been partying a little too much. I go right after work and don't get home till just about midnight, then have to work the n... Spent the weekend working on the house some more and had one showing on Saturday. They didn't give any feedback so they must not have liked it. Oh well.... The pool is a big commitment. Have another Zumba party on March 29. Since I had my neck steriod shots I have been restricted to no jumping twisting or lifting weights. Of course since I couldn't do training or Zumba I did nothing all this time! Ugh! Gained a couple po... Tue, 5 Mar 2013 12:23:51 EST Gonna see the Zumba God aka Pitbull at the Rodeo!!!!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5260308 That's right Zumba ladies! I'm going to see Pitbull during spring break. I'm taking my youngest daughter who just happens to be turning 18 on the same day as the concert. We're going to make a day of it with dinner first, rodeo and concert then hit the carnival! Yeehaw!! I'm taking the next day off so we don't have to worry about staying up late. I'm so excited! Going to Zumba tonight and tomorrow morning. I'm sooo happy it's the weekend. Dale! as Pitbull would say. Fri, 22 Feb 2013 17:41:00 EST 25th Wedding Anniversary- Am I still married? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5230605 It is my 25th wedding anniversary today. Or I should say it would have been my 25th anniversary today if Barry were still alive. Someone told me that I was still married because you get a marriage license but there and there is no license or piece of paper that says you are no longer married when your spouse dies. I had never thought of it that way. It is odd that one moment your married and the next your not... The anniversary of his death is also coming up on Feb. 17 right after Valentines ... Wed, 30 Jan 2013 17:56:01 EST End of the World and New Year's parties http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5190959 Well, I've been getting out there on the social circuit. The Mayan calander party at the museum was lots of fun. Loved the salsa band and dj. Note to self - take salsa dancing lessons in 2013. Made an attempt at salsa dancing with a guy. It was fun trying! Saw a guy I met at a singles mixer a week before that and he typed his number in my phone but then I got a text from Muscle Man and called my girlfriend to find her at the end of the party and ended up not saving the number! 39 ... Sat, 5 Jan 2013 00:37:07 EST Red shoe diary- Before the End of the world party. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5176144 The boy toy unexpectedly started emailing me on Thanksgiving day and yadayayada.. we ended up meeting up one last time. It was kinda fun but none of my girlfriends approve of him and he's not in town that much anyway. I had already gotten set up on a (blind) double date with another guy that same weekend anyway. My zumba friend's boyfriend was eager to set me up with one of his friends and I just happened to be free that Friday. I had told this guy that I liked muscles- "someone I could climb... Tue, 25 Dec 2012 21:39:54 EST Found my gallbladder! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5148970 Of course it was an error. My doctor asked them to take another look and lo and behold it appeared and they say it looked normal. Way to instill trust and confidence, guys. I still think there's still something wrong with it. I'm going to have another type of scan on it soon. The saga continues.

Met with the personal trainer for the third time. He worked me really hard. Tue, 27 Nov 2012 23:28:40 EST Personal Training and Stomach report http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5129712 I loved my personal training session on Thursday! The next day I could feel the soreness creeping in. Saturday was terrible and Sunday I was still really sore. I had tons of things to do around the house so I was still working those muscles. I'm rescheduling to Tuesdays so I can have plenty of time to heal up for Zumba on Saturday. At least soreness means I really needed that workout.

Didn't go to Zumba on Saturday- was too sore, plus house chores are taking precedence right now. I... Fri, 9 Nov 2012 15:26:01 EST Personal Trainer and Update on me http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5121623 Hi everyone- It's been almost a month since my boytoy and I parted ways. His contract ended so he's now back in the UK or other cities full time. We knew it had to end and that was the beauty of the whole relationship. It ended just in time for my really busy season at work, too. However, I am missing our little get togethers. I loved the adrenaline rush and excitement of it all. It certainly took my mind off my problems. I'm really OK with it being over. Just wish I had another diversion lik... Fri, 2 Nov 2012 15:11:41 EST Bella Bunny is at the Bridge http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5108344 I could tell when I took Bella in as a "foster" that she had some kind of urinary problem. Her pee smelled really bad. Her other foster mom said that because she was so obese that she had trouble cleaning herself but having been around a bunny in kidney failure, I knew that something bad was going on. I decided to try and bond her to Mango the wild man anyway. After a while, they were finally bonded. It was sweet to watch them together.
Anyway, during the bonding process he must have bi... This is the time of year when I get crazy busy. I do all of the graphics, web updates and coordinate communications for our annual charitable campaign at work. I run our best boss program and near Boss's day we bring the five honorees for a joint function, which means the President and other execs will be there. I do everything for that which means script writing, slides, invites, calendar coordinating, catering, decorations, writing and designing th... Tue, 2 Oct 2012 23:31:28 EST Birthday party- the big Five Oh! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5052505 Yes, I am now foxy, fun and fifty as my birthday napkins say. Since my birthday fell on a Saturday this year and was reaching a major milestone and many people haven't come over since Barry died I figured it was time to have a gathering that was about fun. I showed a few people his urn, told them that he was a lot easier to handle now (just kidding!) well, I guess that's true. Am I going to hell because I can joke about anything- even picking up his gun from the police department? It's just a... Mon, 10 Sep 2012 12:22:40 EST Chocolate Wasted! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5044465 Ugh! I feel bloated because I gorged on the best chocolate cake I've ever had in my life! I have tasted many chocolate cakes in my day so I consider myself agood judge. It was made by my coworker. She said she found the recipe on Pinterest. Since it's my birthday week I figured I would just eat as much as I wanted since it was the good stuff. I will not be wanting any cake for quite a while as a result. My stomach will be paying for this for a few days. Oh well. I will go right back to being... August might be fall up north but down here it's just Summer Part Two- The Welcome to HELL edition. We also get all the humidity of being near the gulf without the ocean view. Anyways, my eldest daughter went back to college and is now in an off campus apartment. It's an exciting... Mon, 20 Aug 2012 00:05:01 EST Bacon or Eggs? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4987191 I posed the following question on my status today. Are you the bacon or are you the eggs? The answer is that the chicken is involved in this process but the pig is committed! I have a friend who has all kinds of sayings like this. I just love talking to him. He's so funny! So, I'm asking... are you the eggs in the process of getting your life in order, eating clean and exercising- Just having a casual involvement, or are you the bacon, who has committed to the process. I don't know what made ... I'm sure they have some wonderful torture planned for me.

Social Life Update:
Um... even though I am still smitten with my working man but he has such bad health problems that we can't really go out on a date. It's sad. We talk from time to ti... His nurse called me back and said that he would call me in about 30 min and that he was saying that my pathology "didn't make any sense." What kind of message is that?? Well, that 30 or so minutes of waiting was like an eternity. When he called he repeated what the nurse had told me. He seemed like he had been having an ongoing conversati...
