I hiked, I walked, I swam.... I struggled, I took Ibuprophen, I limped. I have bursitis in my right hip, plus I'm having exrays shortly to see what else may be going on. The recommended treatment: ice and rest. Not the best way to lose weight. Fri, 19 Jul 2013 06:11:12 EST oh, brother http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5416048 I am starting to get frustrated. Should eating be this complicated? Tue, 9 Jul 2013 22:15:08 EST To coach or not to coach http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5415071 Maybe I should sign up for the spark coach. I think I would benefit from 1 on 1 coaching to address special needs and to make sure I'm on the right track. I like the idea of having someone to discuss my victories and concerns with. I like not feeling like I'm making this journey alone. <BR> So why haven't I signed up yet? I've gone to the sign-up page many times. I just can't afford to pay for a whole year right now. I'd love to sign up for 3 months and then re-evaluate and probably sign... Sat, 29 Jun 2013 18:57:47 EST Opening my eyes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5402104 Last night I read an article about using "I" phrases and writing a mission statement. I wrote the statement and got a new understanding of why I am changing my lifestyle. This morning I was thinking about getting more exercise and how to incorporate it into my schedule. I doing something that has been a routine for years when I realized that by simply turning right out a door instead of left I can easily add a lovely walk to my day. Right near my job there is walking path. Since I eat lu... Wed, 26 Jun 2013 07:46:57 EST Different schedules http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5401913 I need to figure out how to better track my food. When I'm off work this site is great, but when I'm working I don't follow a midnight to midnight schedule. I ate yesterdays dinner at 9:00 this morning, and todays breakfast at 6:30 this evening. It gets confusing and it makes it difficult to figure out how I did today when it's being tracked like I ate it yesterday. Tue, 25 Jun 2013 23:29:10 EST SPARK is great http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5396878 Being able to track my food and exercise is so helpful. Being able to see exactly how much I've had and know where I stand calorie wise at any time is fantastic. Before I have a snack I can type it in and see how it effects my daily totals. I make better, more informed choices. Size 12 here I come! Thu, 20 Jun 2013 23:37:54 EST Plateau http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5390722 I hit a plateau about 1.5 months ago. I asked my GP to refer me to a dietician. Then I went on line and found Spark People and decided to try it. <BR> <BR> I work in a sleep lab. It's probably one of the least active jobs on the planet. For 12 hours at a time I watch people sleep. I spend 30 minutes each way traveling to and from work. An hour to relax before going to bed. I get between 6 and 8 hours sleep, get up shower, eat, do a few chores and go back to work. After 7 days of this... Sun, 16 Jun 2013 11:03:34 EST
