I have not blogged in almost 2 months. I wish that I could attribute my absence to writer's block, but I'm not a writer. By the way, I was wondering why the words to the "Snow White" song were spelled "heigh " instead of "hi". I looked in my trusty old Merriam- Webster's and lo and behold: "heigh-ho is an interjection (takes me back to English grammar and parts of speech) which started to be used in the year 1553 t... She stated that she thought this would be a fun way to get to know more about each other and I did enjoy reading hers. In her blog, she suggested that we keep this going. Just use "copy and paste". <BR> <BR> Please write your version and then send a request to 5 of your Spark Friends, including yourself, to do the same. Yes, you are right, I do live in southern California, land of many earthquakes. But it wasn't an earthquake !! And it wasn't the usual floor shaking underneath yours truly the beached whale. IT WAS THE SCALE !!!! It moved. Could it be a mistake? Oh please God, no not a mistake. I actually think that I may have lost 2.8 pounds. <BR> <BR> Now, I am usually a fairly positive thinker; however, I am a bit of a "doubting Thom... Sun, 8 Aug 2010 16:56:27 EST MY SCALE IS STUCK !! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3500939 So, I have really been trying to stay on track and I think that I have made some progress. I am eating more regularly than I have in many years, much less meal skipping. I have been exercising as much as I can at the present time. I even bought a new pair of walking shoes. I am drinking 8 glasses of water daily. I'm tracking my food. The bottom line is "my scale won't budge". Oh let me clarify, it does fluctuate about 1/2 of a pound up and down. So I revise my diagnosis, the scale is... Tue, 3 Aug 2010 23:18:59 EST "These Boots Are Made For Walking" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3466035 Does anyone remember the Nancy Sinatra song, "These Boots Are Made for Walking"? No it's not one of my favorite songs; however, I have been teaching myself how to play it on the ukelele. WHY you might ask? Well it has the funniest "run" or "rift" that sounds really cool. I am learning to play the ukelele as part of my self-designed physical therapy program. In November of 2008, I was attacked by a psychiatric patient and ended up with a full thickness tear of the main muscle of my right ... Sat, 24 Jul 2010 22:08:13 EST IT's 3:00AM !#!#!#! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3442956 I can't believe that it is 3:00AM and I have not been able to sleep at all yet tonight. My legs are going crazy. I'm not even able to sit down to use the computer, they are sooo restless. Oh well, things could be a lot worse. I did get to spend most of the day with my soon to be 14 year old grandson (birthday 7-29-96). He has cerebral palsy and has right sided hemiplegia; however, he doesn't let that stop him. I tell him that "the sun rises and sets by him" in my life. He and I have th... Sun, 18 Jul 2010 06:21:06 EST Not "Sleepless in Seattle" !! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3419232 Sleeplessness has been the bane of my existence. I have RLS (restless leg syndrome) and sleep apnea. The combination does not lend itself to quality sleep. I use a CPAP machine at night to breathe properly and I tend to rip it off accidentally if I do fall asleep. The other night, I woke up after about 2 hours of sleep and the "nasal pillows" were all plugged up with water from the humidifier in the machine. I ended up with water all over my bed and spent about 15 minutes blowing it dry... Sun, 11 Jul 2010 01:45:08 EST
