Note that this is one you will want to prep in day's servings. It does not keep well a second day. Just note how many servings you will need and divide the ingredients appropriately. You can make all the dressing at once and put in the refrigerator.

Simple, easy and refreshing. Mon, 28 May 2012 21:38:19 EST HLC Mental Challenge #8 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4882062 1) I've made the most progress in this area so far: Understanding the need for work/life balance. Besides working 10 dyas in a row (tomorrow is day 8), and working almost 14 hours yesterday, I am just not feeling all that great about food, the exercise and stuff I did this week. I did it (most of the time), it got done (but not well), and I am drained.

But what did go well this week?

I chose water. I recommend overnight. I found the carrots too bitter and the yogourt and pineapple too sour without letting it sit. I did have to add a pinch of salt and pepper to boost the flavour and I also added a couple of tablespoons of dried cranberries to sweeten it up.

It went great inside a pita with some chicken breast. The hardest part I find out of this whole journey i telling people about it. For some reason I feel embarrassed about it. I don't like talking about it with people I know on a day to day basis (my spark friends of course are great!).

BUt i guess despite it being uncomfortable, it's part of the process. So, I signed up for the 5 K today. I am starting to begin to listen to my body - when it needs more fuel versus when it needs less. I worked out hard today, and my body did not have enough calories to sustain it. Fri, 13 Jan 2012 22:16:02 EST The workplace can be a terrible thing for your diet. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4675000 So my colleagues invited me to go out to lunch with them today. I politely declined. My husband lost his job recently and we do not have the money to go out to lunch and not to mention they were not going to a restaurant I was not very familiar with and I did not have time to check calories on the food before we went to the restaurant (which is what I usually do).

My coworker offered to pay for me, which was very dear of her, but it is very hard to say no when someone was real... The first is a 5 km run.

Last year my work put together a marathon relay team for the Rocks Marathon. It means that each participant ran 5 km. With my crazy schedule at the time, there was no way I was able to prep for it. I have done a 5k before - there were kids who walked faster than I ran - but I finished it. I ran it in 54 minutes. The lean beautiful winner ran it in 20 - it was a pretty hilly course.
<BR... I've been on spark before and tried to lose weight. I wanted to have this lofty goal of losing all my weight in one year. If you read my blog from one of my previous weight loss attempts, you will see that I got hungry ALL the time. I am actually seriously afraid of: not having a bathing cap (I think my pool requires one, but I'm not sure), getting in someone else's way, or looking like some sort of idiot when I go.

It's really a fear of the unknown. I have never been to my local pool. I don't know where to go or what to do. No wonder people can be so afr... Wed, 4 Jan 2012 07:32:51 EST A party as reward and part of the healing process http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3951300 One of the keys to succes is to tell others of your plans. I think this is the most difficult step in any weightloss journey. We are scared of not succeeding and by telling others, when we fail it is magnified so much more. However, by not telling others, we are doomed to fail. A vicious cycle, I know. I have told my husband of my weight loss journey and noone else. However, I have in my mind the time when I am going to tell everyone. When I get below 200 pounds, I am hosting a party.... Tue, 18 Jan 2011 21:45:51 EST How "diet" foods cheat you of your money http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3938639 I went to the grocery store today to pick up a couple of my breakfast staples (english muffins) and some vegetables for a fajita I was making tonight. I usually buy the Weight Watcher's English muffins and today they were 50cents off! I was like yay they are on sale for $3! Just below it, the whole wheat WonderBread Enligh muffins were on sale too - for $1.50! I checked the nutrition label. They were both the same calorie, fat, fibre etc. content.

The lesson. Check labels. ... Tue, 18 Jan 2011 20:38:46 EST Every success is an awesome one http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3935376 I think one of the biggest things I've learned in my first 8 lbs of weight loss is that each day you do something good is a success. I think in the past i have developed an "all or nothing" attitude. If I'm not working out an hour a day and going like crazy, I don't eel as though I'm doing anything at all. But now I have realized that if I make a half an hour of time to run on the treadmill, I am 290 calories closer to my goal. He reminded me to go to the gym today and I needed it becuase I was avoiding it at around 4:30 today when I should have been working out. Wed, 12 Jan 2011 21:58:54 EST
