This afternoon I am cleaning our 2 bird cages; refilling water, etc., and I realize our cockatiel is missing. What?!?!?!?!?!!! First thing I do is run for the garbage can, altho how I would 'accidentally' pick him up with the messy paper is beyond me. I searched the garbage twice. I got on my hands and knees looking around in nooks and crannies. I looked up - on the curtain rods, the refrigerator. I looked all over the house for evidence that one of the... Most participants take the Challenge for one week, living on a little over $X per day worth of food – the average food stamp benefit. Challenge participants are forced to make food shopping choices on a limited budget, and often realize how difficult it is to avoid hunger, afford nutritious foods, and stay healthy with too few resources.

Members of Congress, govern... How did you develop (or how are you developing) a healthier relationship with food?

Ouch.....I'll cop to a big fat yes to all of the above. I had gone to the sports doc for my knee. He agreed with a dx of pes anserine bursitis, but questioned meniscus involvement. He told me to 'try' running.......I did.......on a pain scale of 0-10, I ended up at about an 8. For several days in a row. I immediately contacted him and scheduled an MRI. It showed a tiny flap tear. Well ok, fine. I have an appt next week to follow up.
I didn't really think running on a torn meniscus was anything more, t... Fri, 24 Aug 2012 09:02:18 EST Pes Anserine Bursitis http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5009609 I really need to blog. There has been so much that has happened in the last few months. Alot on my mind that I really need to vent, no better place than to write it down! Don't have alot of time right now so I'll have to come back to this later....but to get myself started....
I am still in physical therapy and I am STILL not able to run. Whatever happened last fall when I had the stress fracture in my foot and all that ensued after that......well.......somehow it translated its way ... Fri, 10 Aug 2012 11:23:39 EST Horse Camping http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4906398 Over the holiday weekend I went horse camping. Altho I had friends camped in a site just one over from me, I was mainly alone. Just me and my horse in my site. It was good for him. He needs to do some growing up. We had a fabulous time. We rode and rode and rode. Found places we want to come back and explore next time. Did a little 'mountain goat' excursion when the trail had so many blow-downs on it we were trying to find our way around them. I wish we could have stayed longer. <B... Thu, 31 May 2012 20:14:33 EST More tests http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4890357 The MRI came back 'normal'. So I guess my brain isn't full of holes! 20

However, I have to go back in for more blood tests and according to the nurse, the doc is going to be sending me out to an endocrinologist.

Well, whatever they do, I wish it would hurry up and happen. Whatever is actually going on, is not a whole lot of fun. I can only imagine how I'd feel if I were not as healthy as I actually am.

Aside from this, I've been putting HOUR... Sun, 20 May 2012 22:03:46 EST Tomorrow's scary day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4873108 Tomorrow morning I get to have a contrast-aided MRI of my brain. To check up on my pituitary gland. I've had MRI's before, but I have never had to go all the way into the machine. I am not terrified, but I am nervous. Plus I get the added joy of an IV so they can put dye into me. Maybe I'll pee blue for the next week. I dunno. Sorry, a bit of gallows humor.
I am worried about what the results will be. Or maybe I should say I'm worried the results will not show a "simple fix". ... Tue, 8 May 2012 22:36:29 EST A Few More Memories http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4843995 Adding to yesterday's blog....some things I cannot believe I forgot to mention. Hercules never learned how to purr. Can you imagine a cat who doesn't purr? What's up with that?
And, the way he was so much a part of the family....weekends, when we're sleeping in, he'd get right in between us, even if the kids were in bed with us too, and lay there. Not going to ignore him, that's for sure! He'd curl up right in the middle of us, close his eyes, curl his paws under, and smile. Yes,... Fri, 20 Apr 2012 11:37:50 EST Memories http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4842438 Yesterday I had to put my cat down. I want to write down some of my memories, thoughts, feelings.
My cat's name was Hercules. He was a Russian Blue. He came to us 10-11 years ago as a stray kitten. Lost out behind our fence, I guess. Scared, but I got him onto our deck and gave him food. Then I got him into the cat carrier and brought him in the house for the night.
The next morning I let him out. Hmm let's see what he does. I sat down on the couch to watch him. First thin... Thu, 19 Apr 2012 11:21:38 EST "What's for dinner?" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4832338 The three words I hate the most.

I ask repeatedly throughout the week, what meals would you guys like to have? I get NADA for a response. Which then leaves me with NOTHING BUT FOOD ON MY MIND...... ALL DAMN DAY.....EVERY DAY...... trying to decide, what ingredients do I have, what can I make, what will actually be eaten?

Then there is my own eating-schedule-problem......as in......I am not hungry for lunch until at least 2 pm (breakfast is usually at 7 am) and on...
