We've had him as of 6pm tonight for a full week. In this time I've been up every morning around 7am (most uncommon as I dislike getting up before 9am) and out of the house by 730 to give Payton an hours walk /run /training session. The nurologist I saw told me that being MORE active would mean less pain in my lower back and hips he was WRONG I'm in way more pain then before. My daily pain scale has gone from 3 to 5 up to 5 to 7 plus my left leg and f... On top of keeping him active he's also getting him outside and walking so he's not feeling confined to the house. It's also ment I'm getting less sleep because I end up getting up earlier to take him for a morning walk to give him the necessary break from my husband to be just a dog so to speak. Wed, 13 Apr 2016 20:14:35 EST Dental Surgery = OUCH http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6105382 Well Tuesday I had Dental Surgery. The same one I had close to 6 months ago that failed. Went back in and he put the implant in = bleep fripping bleep that was painful. Come to learn the bone had fully healed back to new while I was putting off going back to see him. So turned out in this case my procrastination might have actually been a good thing. So far since surgery my glucose levels have been in range only one hypo since so not a problem in general. I go back to see him for a follow... Fri, 26 Feb 2016 12:25:16 EST Chasing hypos http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6100629 Got to love Diabetes in general, you do as you should and watch everything necessary and you still have days that it bites you. Past couple of days I've been in the low end of numbers 2.5 to 5.5 maybe popping up to 8 but not for very long. Not needed as much insulin which is nice to see of course, but waking up at 7am testing and seeing 2.5 or 3.2 not so much. It goes in bouts I've noticed almost as if my body is following a hormone cycle (I'm post menopausal before the age of 40) yet ther... Sat, 20 Feb 2016 14:36:39 EST Long walk - 11km http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6087923 Well wasn't expecting to walk 11km on only 200 calories in the body, but it happens. Ended up burning like 900 calories apparently so ya treat of a pizza slice didn't even make a large dent in the calories burned and I'm still under 1200 even with the pizza. Grrrr Thu, 4 Feb 2016 19:01:34 EST Next to empty fridge http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6071445 Got to love looking at the fridge and seeing it going empty, look at the freezer and the same look at the pantry and it's semi stocked but not in options I can eat (think celiac nightmare). Got 30.00 to last till the end of the month = oi oi oi oi Sat, 16 Jan 2016 23:18:38 EST Weigh In http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6070291 Ya talk about slipping my mind about hitting the scale, well finally had the brain power to remember to check my weight. Unfortunately for me it hasn't changed still sitting at 120kg (apx 260 lbs) so the weight hasn't shifted in a few months but holding stady instead. Well hope everyone is having a good Friday take care! Sat, 9 Jan 2016 20:47:46 EST New Year will be better than last year! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6060341 Well happy new year everyone, hope you are enjoying spark. Last year went well in general, lost 10 pounds so was 10 short of my goal but 10 is 10 regardless, my doc isn't pleased and is ordering tests because based off my eating, hormones (plus thyroid) and my workout log more than 10 should have been lost. I'm blaming the weight on the insulin (mostly the Humalog) since I started actually paying attention to my numbers the weights not shifted as it was when I wasn't paying attention to m... Mon, 4 Jan 2016 19:01:37 EST Day 4 n 5 of N in the Hospital http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6040090 Well Wednesday didn't go as planned N ended up having a tonic mild clonic seizure shortly before they where getting ready to release him. Was asked to stay with him over night since I have such experience with his seizures. Didn't want to stay as I didn't have extra safe food with me, more extra insulin. But I did say, got a large coffee triple sugar plus bottle of regular pop n siped them throughout the night, freaked out the duty nurse when she saw my glucose number as she was taking N... Mon, 30 Nov 2015 14:21:44 EST Day 3 of N in the Hospital http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6037751 Well got to the hospital at 1030am to find N sitting up in the chair looking a world of a LOT better then he had when I went home. The nurse said that N needed to get up and walk at lease three times today, so that's what we did. We slowly walked to the elevators and back to the room. He was tired and sore but in good spirits. He's had lunch that he enjoyed to degrees and went for his second walk/stroll. The surgeon just came in and said that he just might be able to come home this evenin... Most of the day N spends dozing until 330 when the doc from medical comes and starts talking to him. Around 4pm in walks the anesthesiologist and that's the q for N to be taken into surgery. We head up to the surgery floor talk to the doc who's performing the surgery get a few things cleared up and off he does into the... Wed, 25 Nov 2015 14:01:40 EST Day 1 of N in the Hospital http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6037680 Well it's been a bumpy road the past three days, early Monday morning N woke me up and off to the ER we went hours later he gets a ultrasound and by late afternoon we learn he has to have his gullbladder out, but because he had a seizure while in the hospital care they will not operate unless it's life threatening so he's put on the stand by list. Around 6pm where told they are going to admit him and surgery will be sometime Tuesday. I phone his mom and let her know, then I call our bish... Wed, 25 Nov 2015 11:15:40 EST Toujeo insulin http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6022680 Well my endocrinologist enrolled me in the trial program for this new insulin that's just been approved by health Canada. I don't start taking it until Friday night so I'll have the weekend to deal with any side effects before needing to be at work. Semi nervous about the new insulin as its a condensed version of Lantus (yes I know it's not interchangeable but for all intent of purpose it's condensed Lantus). Reading the drugs profile n side effects increased hypos until correct dosage... Wed, 28 Oct 2015 14:46:17 EST That time of season http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6018305 Well almost three months of being in the schools and it's catching up on me. As in the little germ filled hands are being seen more and more that I've caught the cold that's going around and it's not letting me go. Glucose levels have been elevated for the past several days Sunday, I was spiking like crazy that I ended up taking over a 100 units of Humalog just to stay around mmol 12 (216) cause I was spiking between 15 n 20 (270 n 360). Monday was back at work, thankfully at a high school... Tested my glucose levels a few times today and like clockwork was going hypo - by clockwork I mean I knew that I'd likely be on the low side if not actually hypo itself. I'm not taking my insulin as I should becaus... Wed, 7 Oct 2015 18:43:28 EST Yet Another Low Calorie High Burn Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6006360 Grrrrrr Well SP says I can eat upwards of 5k in calories because I've burned 2k today. Umm ya that's so not happening it's already 730 pm n I'm just over 1k as it is, trying to figure out what more to eat to get me over the 1200 mark that isn't junk based (though really I could eat the pint of soy ice cream n still have more than enough calories left over today). I'll figure something out but it's becoming a habit of work that I can't always get the calories in that I've burned. Had this ... Get to the location for the day to learn it's a half day. Do the shift, repack my 500 pounds of gear n haul it back to the van. Glucose levels all day are close to hypo or at the hypo mark - woke up at mmol 2.6 had sugary cereal for breakfast instead of the protein shake only spiked me to 5 thus after setting up I was back down to 3.2 It's one of those weeks up n down no rhyme or reason to it.
