NURSETARA0322's SparkPeople Blog NURSETARA0322's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community March 1st A new month! February was a pretty good month for me. I lost 8lbs and 6 inches off my body. I feel like I could have lost a little more, but I'm just happy I had a loss. That's 2lbs a week on average and I'll take it. I'm excited for the month of March. It's exactly 3 weeks until my birthday. I'm going to try to really step it up and lose at least 8lbs by then. That will put me at 75lbs down from my highest weight. If I do that, I'll be buying myself a Garmin forerunner as a prize. I REEEEALL... Sun, 1 Mar 2015 16:19:08 EST February 27 I'm making progress. This well probably be the first month in over a year that I've ended weighing less than when the month started. Crazy. I'm on day 9 of my 100 days of weight loss book. Days 8 and 9 in the book were not particularly helpful for me. They were all about ways to get support and what to tell your support people. That's already been established in my life for a very long time. I have amazing support!

Yesterday was leg day.. my favorite. I'm ridiculously sore and I ... Fri, 27 Feb 2015 11:23:27 EST February 25th.. proud of myself I've completed day 7 of my 100 days of weight loss book. I feel like so far it is really helping. I've been following the book every day but also practicing being more positive. I've been taking time out to meditate and do deep breathing every day. Usually just for a few minutes. But it's enough and it really helps. I haven't even had any food cravings all week. Focusing on positivity is a huge breakthrough for me. I'm such an emotional eater and this is working ah helping me stop that. I... Wed, 25 Feb 2015 22:23:52 EST February 22 Today is the 5th day that I've been working on being positive and not emotional eating. I feel way better than I have in months. It's also a Sunday which is my weigh in day. I've lost 5 lbs this week. I'm really excited because last week I lost nothing and the week before was only 2lbs. Taking off the emotional weight helps the physical weight to come off too! I really like the 100 days of weight loss book. It's very helpful. I'm looking forward to another great week! Sun, 22 Feb 2015 23:09:02 EST Feb 18th- Fixing Myself Over the past few weeks, I have started to realize a few things:
1. I am an emotional eater
2. I am a very negative thinker
3. That negativity leads to feelings of anxiety and depression
4. Those feelings make me eat more!

It's an ugly cycle, and I need to get a handle on it. I have to stop using food as a crutch to feel better. If I don't, I'll never permanently make a change. I thought I could just diet and all would be well, but if that was the case, I wouldn... Wed, 18 Feb 2015 07:44:24 EST Day 17 of February I am horrible with keeping up with blogging! Since my last blog things have been going pretty well. But I did mess up my diet over the weekend. I had a particularly stresstressful week at work last week, and I allowed that to get to me. I am definitely an emotional eater. I'm working on that. I'm also an all or nothing personality. I need to work on that too. I had pizza Saturday and then I kind of gave up the rest of the weekend. Yesterday I got back on track with healthy food choices and hi... Tue, 17 Feb 2015 09:13:54 EST Day 6 of February Challenge Days 4 and 5 went well. The 4th we went to dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. I had a grilled chicken salad. I told them to hold the cheese and bacon so it was just veggies and chicken. It was so good, I didn't feel like I was missing anything. Day 5 I did the Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack DVD with my husband and my son was mimicking the movements too. It was so adorable. We've been eating super healthy as a family. I'm at work from 7pm to 7am tonight and I work the same thing tomorr... Fri, 6 Feb 2015 01:09:58 EST Day 2 of February Challenge Day 2 went amazing! I ate ridiculously healthy and my friend and I had a good workout together. We worked on shoulders, chest, and upper back. Then we did 35 minutes on the treadmill walking at 15% incline. Tomorrow is leg day and cardio. I'm excited! Tue, 3 Feb 2015 01:35:10 EST February Challenge So it's the second month of 2015 and it's the perfect month to give myself a little challenge. It's exactly 4 weeks long. Starts on a Sunday, ends on a Saturday. Couldn't be better. The little OCD person inside me is excited by this. So for this 4 weeks my husband and I have decided to eat totally clean and within our calorie ranges every single day. No cheats! We can do anything for 4 weeks. I'm also going to workout at least 5 times a week which is no problem for me. I usually workout d... Sun, 1 Feb 2015 11:44:49 EST Quick Update Day 20 I weighed in and have not seen a loss this week. I think this could partially be due to bloating. My female time is right around the corner. Anyways.. I've been keeping up with my workouts and I can tell I'm getting stronger. One of my friends from work said she'll start running with me and training for a 5k. I'm so excited to have a partner again! Running alone can be so boring. I think we are going to go for a short run tomorrow. Can't wait! Tue, 20 Jan 2015 09:55:52 EST Day 16 So at my weigh in earlier this week.. I lost a whopping 1lb. Normally I would be annoyed but last week I lost 7. So 8lbs in 2 weeks is just fine by me. I've been having some work stress and I can tell it's getting to me. I've been craving junk. Yesterday we had family day and took our son to the children's museum in Cleveland. He had a blast. Then I gave in and we got pizza. After 2 weeks of completely healthy eating, I could tell my body wasn't a fan of the pizza. I almost instantly got a st... Sat, 17 Jan 2015 00:04:26 EST Day 12- quick update I've been very busy and haven't been able to blog in a while, but I've been doing great staying on track with my eating and working out. I'll be weighing in later today when I wake up. I'm working night shift tonight so I'm going to sleep today beforehand. I'm hoping to see a good loss.
Mon, 12 Jan 2015 07:33:46 EST Day 3 So today is day 3 of the new year and of my restart. I'm doing awesome staying on track so far. Today I'm working 7pm to 7am at the hospital. Fun stuff. So my hours are a little off. But for my late breakfast I had egg whites scrambled with asparagus, peppers, and onions. So good. Before work I'm going to have some steel cut oats. Then for work I packed baked chicken breast, rice, and broccoli. With cut up veggies and some greek yogurt as snacks. I also took an apple in case I'm still hungry.... Sat, 3 Jan 2015 17:07:36 EST Day 2 of the New Year I'm feeling like I've gotten off to a pretty great start. I was sick with the flu for the last 3 days of December, and when January 1st rolled around I was still a little under the weather. But I amanaged to drag my butt to the gym and I am glad I did. I feel like I officially started 2015 off right. I didn't get too crazy, I did leg day for strength training and walked at a 5% incline for 30 minutes. I didn't want to wear myself out and stay sick longer, and I'm happy I at least did somethin... Fri, 2 Jan 2015 08:46:05 EST A New Year, and a Fresh Start So 2014 was definitely not my year. Some good things happened, but overall it was pretty blah. Lot's of stress. I made absolutely no progress in my fitness goals. In fact, I gained back a large chunk of weight that I had lost. I'm pretty disgusted about this, but I'm done dwelling on it. I have thoroughly beat myself up over it, now I'm done. I am so grateful that a new year is starting. I feel like it's a change to wipe the slate clean, pick up from where I'm at now, and just charge towards... Wed, 31 Dec 2014 00:46:09 EST Small Update The fast few days have been good. My husband and I have been eating super healthy and sticking to our workout plan. We went on a run/walk for 5 and a half miles today outside. I'm guessing we burned some extra calories just trying to trudge through the snow. It was freezing but it felt good to be out in nature.

The plan for tomorrow is to do 30 minutes strength training abs/back and 45 minutes of hard cardio. I'm gonna run a mile as fast as possible on the treadmill and then do s... Mon, 16 Dec 2013 01:15:58 EST 12/12/13 So I'm a little late posting my update for he 12th, but day 1 was a success. I did 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill at 15% incline and then 30 minutes of strength training on my legs and glutes. I followed my meal plan and stayed in my calorie range. I had tons of fruits and veggies along with some lean protein and good carbs and I feel better already. I already have my meal plan and workout plan made out for today too. I'm happy to be back on track. No more excuses. Fri, 13 Dec 2013 01:06:29 EST I Need to Get Back on Track So the past month has been rough on me. I have been going through a ton of personal stress, which I don't want to get into. I'm hoping it's all resolved now. I haven't been working out and eating the way that I want to and I haven't lost a single pound in the past 4 weeks. Ugh! At least I haven't gained but I was really hoping to be in Onederland by the end of this year. That isn't going to happen no matter how hard I try. 198

I'll get there, just not in the time line... Wed, 11 Dec 2013 22:12:04 EST Staying Strong So I've been super busy lately but I've been doing awesome with my workouts. Not so much with my eating. Too much candy and too much junk. I've maintained my weight loss and even dropped a pound in the past week but for the amount I'm working out, it's a shame I haven't lost more. I need to get back to my clean eating plan and stop with all the junk. I just have a terrible problem with stress eating. Ugh. I'm a work in progress.

I've planned out all of my workouts for the next 2 ... Sat, 2 Nov 2013 23:21:19 EST Loving Running! I've been focusing on getting my run on and I'm loving it! I did another 3.5 miles nonstop and took 2 and a half minutes off my first time. While I'm running I don't actually always love it, but I love the way I feel after. So accomplished. 2014 is gonna be an awesome year. I'm doing a 10k nonstop no matter what. Can't wait.

I've been doing really well all week eating healthy too. Lately So the past 2 weeks I've been gone from sparkpeople. 2 weeks ago we were camping. Super fun but a lot of unhealthy eating. Then last week we were so busy house hunting I haven't really had time to be online. But we finally found a house and put an offer in and it was accepted! So we close October 28th as long as the inspection is ok. This is our first house so I'm super stressed but excited. I've been eating a lot of sugar. Stress eating. No good. Feeling Kinda Bummed Well the past 3 days have been kind of crappy for me. I haven't been able to work out at all. Monday and Tuesday I was super sick.. fever, chills, and insane nausea that wouldn't go away. Then Tuesday I got an abscess on my inner thigh. I worked a 12 hour shift on Tuesday and it rubbed on my pants and got super huge and painful. So Wednesday I decided to go to the doctor. She put me on antibiotics and cut and drained it. Sorry if this is gross and TMI. But anyways it hurts really bad, and it'... Thu, 15 Aug 2013 02:29:26 EST Day 30 of 50/ BLC 19 WUB/ Today was Awesome! I have a lot going on now. Mon, 15 Jul 2013 09:58:44 EST 50 Day Challege :) Well in the past 2 weeks my eating habits haven't been what I want them to be. Too much sugar and fat and not enough veggies. I've been maintaining my weight but that's about it. It's kind of depressing to not see the scale moving down but I know I haven't been eating they way I should. So my husband and I decided yesterday to do 50 days of eating according to our plan and doing at least 10 fitness minutes a day. I plan to do way more fitness minutes than 10/day ( I usually do 60-90).. but ... Sun, 14 Jul 2013 15:52:23 EST Weekly Update Blog 27 of 52 I'm at a plateau again.. so annoying!
