I'm averaging a 1.5 pound per week loss. I can live with that! It gets frustrating because it seems to come off so slow and I have such a long way to go. That and my clothes all fit the same. I haven't lost any sizes yet. But, I'll keep plugging away. This time is going to go by no matter what I do and I'd rather look back in six months having accomplished my weight loss goals than not. So... Mon, 9 Mar 2009 20:07:28 EST 7th Week on SparkPeople Well, this is my 7th week on SparkPeople. I was able to accomplish most of the goals I set for myself last week. I could not, however, complete the lunge/squat daily challanges. They were just too tough on my knees and legs. Instead, I just stuck with my Shred and WATP dvd's.

I read some great fitness articles on SparkPeople this week and am applying what I've learned in the articles to my fitness routines. First, I read several articles about Interval training and how effecti... Tue, 3 Mar 2009 18:15:06 EST 6th Week on SparkPeople Well, I'm starting my sixth week on SparkPeople. Last week was a bust for diet and exercise because I came down with Strep Throat. I came down with it on Monday and was out of commission through Friday. I haven't had Strep Throat since I was a kid and, let me tell you, it's much worse having it as an adult! Anyway, I survived and am hoping to get back on track this week with my fitness and diet.

My fitness goals for this week are to continue with the Walk Away The Pounds DVD ... Mon, 23 Feb 2009 08:56:10 EST Fourth Week Update Well, this is my fourth week on SparkPeople. I've had a lot of fun with the nutrition tracker. Last week I discovered that I was low on my daily calcium and iron intake. I fixed that by adding a daily calcium chew and a daily multi vitamin. I love the calcium chew. It's chocolate and makes me feel like I'm getting a 'treat' during the day. This week, I expanded my nutrition tracking to include fiber. I thought for sure that I was getting enough fiber every day because I eat at least 5 ... Thu, 5 Feb 2009 23:23:16 EST Third Week update - slowly plugging away This is my third blog entry. I'm trying to make an entry about once a week. At this point, I've become pretty comfortable with my daily food choices and options. I don't miss high-calorie, high-fat foods. I've found that I am enjoying hunting for low-calorie, low-fat recipes. I created a cookbook on that I've filled with healthy recipes. Knowing that I have that, it's made grocery shopping and meal planning easier. I also started taking a daily multi-vitamin and calcium ... Wed, 28 Jan 2009 11:32:51 EST Slow Beginning Well, I've been working out since January 5th and I started tracking my nutrition on January 8th. My first few workouts were very light - - kind of an introduction back into the world of fitness. I worked out to a Prevention DVD that has a 15 minute walking workout. I did that DVD for two days, January 5th and 7th. After that, I graduated to Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds DVD on Thursday, January 8th. The one I have has a 3-mile challenge and a 4-mile challenge and I've been able ... Tue, 20 Jan 2009 15:11:13 EST Fast Break Stage of my Spark Diet Hello,

My New Year's Resolution is to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle. I am in the "Fast Break Stage" of the Spark Diet. I've been in this stage for one week and plan on remaining in the stage for one more week. I figure it took me a long time to pack on the pounds and it's going to take a long time to lose them. As they say, slow and steady wins the race!

I spent this past week familiarizing myself with the SparkPeople website. It's a huge site to navigat... Mon, 12 Jan 2009 12:13:21 EST
