While it may have taken me 2 years to lose 60 pounds, and it may take me another two years or maybe just 9 months, the important thing is knowing I’ve made a lifestyle change.

It doesn’t matter that I ate poorly today, because I know that tomorrow I’m going to pick mys... Sat, 10 Mar 2012 02:28:55 EST Set Backs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4780021 I definitely messed up today. Not that I binged or anything, but I ate probably 600-700 calories more than I normally do, good old overeating/emotional eating. On MFP I’m in the red on everything except protein and sodium.

Normally what I do is plan an idea of what I’m going to eat throughout the day while I’m eating breakfast, and then I log it on MFP before I finish my breakfast. Today, I was going to start making my lunches pack more of a punch calorie wise and trim down on my d... Fri, 9 Mar 2012 23:58:51 EST I weigh what my drivers license says I do! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4768600 I’ve been licensed to drive in the United States since I was 16. Roughly 7 years. And for the past 7 years, my drivers license has said that I weigh 193 pounds. Before today, what I meant by 193 pounds was add somewhere between 20 - 60 pounds. I’ve been so excited since I woke up! I even screamed when I weighed in this morning. I’m sure my roommates appreciated that considering it was about 8AM on a Saturday.

Oh by the way, I hit my 60 pounds gone marker too! Technically 61 pounds ... Wed, 15 Feb 2012 22:36:20 EST 2 pounds away from 60! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4732395 I recently found documentation ( a doctors appointment) that my actual current start weight wasn't in the 240's like I have on SP. But it was like 254. And this morning I weighed in at 196, which puts me 2 pounds away from having lost a total of 60 pounds! And I know it's taken me close to two years to get this far, but I'm almost 60 pounds down!

Who cares how long it takes. As long as you NEVER give up, and NEVER lose sight of your goals :) Fri, 10 Feb 2012 13:02:47 EST I love grocery shopping :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4704404 Tillamook has this yogurt that is called Baked Apple Pie. The only problem with it is that I'm fairly certain it has as many calories in it as a slice of apple pie. 190! It tasted SO GOOD. And I guess I shouldn't be complaining, because it was low fat yogurt without artificial sweeteners or coloring, which you certainly don't get with Yoplait. I didn't even realize how many calories it was until it was halfway done. But I guess extra calories for no artificial sweeteners is a trade I should t... So I didn't write much about it...

So, I originally talked myself out of doing 30DS today… So instead I did 50 chest flies, and then 50 crunches, 50 reverse crunches, and then 30 oblique crunches on each side. One point in time yesterday, I was in the middle of one of the pushup sets and I went down and kept trying to get back up. Like my body was saying no more, and today, I made it through all of the pushups! And hopefully by the end of shark week this week, I will see 190-something. I no longer have any of my finals week chocolate left lying around. I ate all that in my pms angst a few days ago haha... Sat, 7 Jan 2012 23:01:10 EST Why I wear a ring... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4641106 I wear a ring for two purposes. One, wearing a ring helps me monitor my water retention/intake, which helps me down more water throughout the day. Two, it serves as a way to notice my weight loss progress. And today, my ring fell off. I was extremely fond of my ring... but I feel like it's also a small victory.

And as we all know, it's the small victories that count :) Wed, 28 Dec 2011 03:48:14 EST Oooh water, I love and hate you so! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4629792 I love water. I spend all day drinking it! I like my water in my BPA free 32oz red nalgene bottle, and my water bottle never leaves my sight all day! My love hate relationship with water starts in the morning. I drink a bottle in the morning, and then one in the afternoon - and I love it!

My third bottle of water starts in the evening. Coincidentally, so does the hate side of my relationship with water. Mainly because what goes in must come out. And about 10:30 at night, no matter... Sat, 3 Dec 2011 18:34:42 EST Workout DVD's! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4596279 I got 30DS in the mail AND a yoga DVD in the mail this past week. And I've only tried the yoga one, and I really enjoyed it! I haven't done much today though :/ I woke up and finished packing to head home, and then went to class, found out the pass was closed, came home made sure I had everything packed, and then the pass opened up! For 20 minutes. So needless to say, by the time I was 30 miles west of Ellensburg, the pass was closed again. It took me literally 6 hours to get from Ellensburg ... Sun, 13 Nov 2011 14:28:04 EST Working things out... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4581479 I know I keep saying I'm coming back to Spark. I've been doing more blogging on tumblr though. And most of it is I just keep forgetting to post, but these past few weeks, I've been making a conscious effort to track my food and get at least some exercise in, whether it's a walk, or a set or two of crunches and lunges. Just not tracking it. But I feel like it's a step in the right direction. I was trying to do C25k again, but my lungs just weren't having it. And I talked with my doctor about i... Sat, 12 Nov 2011 22:04:16 EST Journaling. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4440959 I ended up going to the mall today because I got a coupon in the mail for a free pair of Victoria's Secret Incredible HipHugger panties [which I got the black and white paisley design], and I happened to stumble upon Borders, which has moved into 40-60% off everything storewide. I hit up the nutrition/weight-loss section and I got a really cool book. It's kind of a book at least. It's called the Diet and Exercise Diary. And it is for a whole year. for $2.60 or something like that after tax. A... Mon, 22 Aug 2011 00:26:40 EST Back From Running http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4435210 So I started out doing the five minute warm-up walk and then I started to jog and before I knew it, i looked down and it had been two minutes instead of one. So it wasn't that bad :). I might have to find one of those C25K programs where they interrupt the music and tell you to start walking again. I'm really bad at keeping track of things. And I'm going back to the Y again today for some YOGA!

But I did notice that my lungs felt like they were on fire and it was hard for me to c... Thu, 18 Aug 2011 17:04:31 EST Excuses made up my last year. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4434971 So obviously I haven't been sparking. Which you can also probably conclude that I also haven't been exercising.

I have been EXTREMELY inconsistent since ooooh lets go with about a year ago. And then I got my yearly notification for my check up at the doc. I remember last year being all yeah, I'm losing weight. And now I'm like, yeah, I've become lazy and complacent.

Not as healthy. And I feel terrible about it, because I let myself down this past year. I rocked the sum... Thu, 18 Aug 2011 14:35:38 EST Yoga! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4215708 So, I've never done yoga before, but one of my friends was suggesting that I try doing yoga before bed at night. So I've been looking at podcasts to find one, and I don't really know where to start. Do you guys follow any yoga podcasts that you like? I think I'm going to take a shot in the dark and try one tonight... I don't really know what to expect, but I think/hope it will be fun!

OH! I know that may not sound very great, but they have a weight loss category that lately has been seriously helping me keep on track in the recent weeks. And I found something I'd like to share with you guys! I found this web page a little while ago, and it's everything that helps me stay focused, and it's what has really helped me keep from straying these past few weeks, so I thought I'd share :)

www.bripblap.com/2007/101-thoughts-on-lo<... Thu, 5 May 2011 02:12:11 EST It's been a while... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4147164 I think my title says it all. I haven't stepped foot in a gym in 3 weeks. Two of which I have been sick. Aside from that, I think I'm ready again. Ready to Spark once more! Through most of winter, I stopped counting calories and I stopped religiously going to the gym. Instead I went to the bar. Which don't get me wrong, I love. But I don't love it as much as I love my jeans getting looser.

So this morning, when I woke up, I took my measuring cups out, and I set them on my counter ... Wed, 6 Apr 2011 15:03:38 EST 3 Times. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3980693 3 is the amount of times I stepped on my scale this morning. I woke up late for class, I had a bad eating day yesterday - 2 slices of apple pie (my church gives new members pie, and mine happened to be apple. I love apple. It's second to strawberry rhubarb), peanut butter m&m's, a slice of pizza, and two servings of this really tasty chicken dinner thing that was to die for.

I wasn't even planning on weighing in this morning because I haven't been eating my best, but I did. And it's mostly my physical therapy... But with a little added extra it equals about an hours worth of aquatic activities!

I'm planning on doing it Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Which means I worked out today. And I forgot how much energy swimming takes. And I was reminded today as I stepped out of the pool. And is going to make tuesdays super long because I'm in class from 9-1 on tuesdays and then I'm in work from 4:30... Sun, 23 Jan 2011 22:42:56 EST I love food. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3934281 And I'm looking for some new recipes.

When I was in Montana this weekend, I raided my Aunt's cook books, specifically one labeled Big Sky Cook Book. And there are some wonderful recipes that I can't wait to try out.

And it got me thinkin', that maybe some of you would have some good single or double serving recipes that you have tried out recently. Or just recipes in general.

And here's another thing, whenever I go to Montana, I always seem to lose weight. ... Mon, 17 Jan 2011 16:43:39 EST Back to the Grind! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3908153 Ohh after my wonderful not entirely relaxing break from school, I'm back in Pullman, and not entirely sure what I'm going to be doing with myself. I wasn't accepted into WSU's College of Education, and it's looking like that is never going to happen. And even transferring to WSU's other campuses, I'd still have extra classes to take before they would accept me that WSU Pullman doesn't offer. And I have other GER's at other universities that WSU doesn't offer. I really don't think I'm ever get... Sun, 9 Jan 2011 21:47:28 EST It has definitely been a while... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3844114 So my last blog... I was 2 pounds from being under 200. Annnnnd now I have no idea where I am. I think I'm about in the same pound range. I've been sick since 'officially' Thursday and I slept and ate all day Friday and then I went to a study abroad meeting for Camp Adventure and then went back to sleep, and then woke up Sunday evening, studied for a final, and then went back to sleep and made my way to campus and took my final. Forgot my doctors appointment in there. I had to go in to get or... Tue, 14 Dec 2010 18:21:05 EST Forgot Something! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3776153 The BEST part of yesterday in junk food.

Tangy Carolina BBQ Chips.

New Favorite. I don't even really like chips. But these are SO delicious.

And fried rice for lunch

And I did eat a good breakfast :) Special K :) Wed, 10 Nov 2010 21:19:46 EST Almost Under 200 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3776126 Day 167/168

I gave my self the biggest free day ever. It could have been cause of how stressed I've been, but I went for it. Reeces Pieces, Smarties, Reeces Peanut Butter Cups [my ultimate weakness], and pizza. And it all tasted so good. Actually the pizza could have been WAY better. Until I woke up this morning with no energy and a serious stomach ache that rivaled the flu.

So I've had a better day today! and I'm 2 pounds away from being 199 or lower and it's SO WEIRD.... Wed, 10 Nov 2010 21:03:03 EST Day 140 - Back on the Wagon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3728628 I'm officially back on the wagon. I hopped on the scale this morning and I weighed in at 206.2.

I feel like all the weight that wouldn't budge was because I wasn't taking the time to eat healthy. So I swapped out the unhealthy for the healthy and started drinking more water, and it literally melted off. I feel like a lot of it was from water retention and with the healthy food and water it went away. Does that make sense?

I put carrots in my fridge and I started putting... Wed, 20 Oct 2010 13:51:00 EST Day 138 - The Bottom Line http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3724983 I've finally started to see the scale go back down. However, i have to lose the 4 pounds I gained first. I'm going to work hard to get below 200 by my birthday.

I wanted to share this poem with you guys. It's called The Bottom Line.

Face it.
Nobody owes you a anything.
What you achieve, or fail to achieve in your lifetime,
Is directly related to what you do or fail to do.

No one chooses his parent or childhood,
But you can choose your own d... And they make my butt look good. And I just have to remember that At the beginning of the summer, I couldn't even get them up over my thighs. And now I can button them.

And I bought a pair of flats and barely have the foot muffin top.

And here's my favorite. Tue, 12 Oct 2010 02:50:36 EST Day 133 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3709377 So I haven't been on track lately. I'm legitimately crashed and burned on the side of the railroads type of off the track. I'm so stressed out between work and class and physical therapy, and not being able to work out because of my back, and eating on the go because I'm always studying or at work, or eating at work and not knowing what's in my food, and spending countless hours pouring over notes and journal articles in the library.

And then I had my interview for the school of e... I really have a hard time believing it. Except when I notice that my skinny pants are now my fat pants. And The only pants that fit are the ones with draw strings because I have yet to buy a belt. Which I meant to do last night. Until I ended up buying a pair of PJ booty shorts that are probably going to fit me in a month or two. And I'm pretty excited for it. They are super cute and they say WSU COUGARS across the butt and ... Fri, 3 Sep 2010 15:35:29 EST Day 92 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3594240 Soooo, my jeans were super big on my yesterday so I washed them. And when I took my jeans out of the dryer last night, I had to try them on to see how the were fitting fresh out of the dryer. And they were looser than ever. My jeans feel like they were never washed. So I went to my favorite store to see if they had a cute belt that I could get to hold them up, and out of curiosity, I found myself at the jeans rack, picking up a size 14 jeans. And I looked at them and I was like I'm never goi... Tue, 31 Aug 2010 20:52:52 EST Day 83 - Ouch http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3561479 So I've been working like mad for the last week and then some and my back finally called it quits today after working my longest shift. Normally my shifts are split up into 2.5 to 3 hour shifts but today I was covering a ton of shifts and I was supposed to work for a full 13 hours. and 2 hours before I was supposed to be done my back was gone. Like I'm still laying down and after taking 800mg of ibuprofen, I'm hurting enough to not be able to do my exercises. And I can't even go to student he... Sun, 22 Aug 2010 01:25:30 EST Day 77 - Post Vacation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3539862 So I got back to Pullman, and I didn't weigh myself until I had two days back on my normal eating habits to drop out all of the sodium weight that occurred from eating fast food on my way back to Pullman. And.....

My weight in put me at 216. And right before I left for vacation I was 214.6. SO I don't think I did that bad on vacation. haha And I also don't know if that's cheating if I waited to weigh in until this morning. Haha And I'm not longer hoping to be under or at 200 by the... Sun, 15 Aug 2010 17:38:30 EST Day 72 - MRI Update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3524220 So I heard back from my chiropractor today. I haven't gone into the office yet, but I'm working full-time for the rest of the week when I get back into pullman, and I dont have next weeks schedule yet, but I said to schedule me as much as I can be. So that will probably end up as full time too. So my chiropractor just told me over the phone some of the things that showed up in the MRI.

I have 3 bulging discs, at L4, L5, and S1, and it looks like T5 is susceptible to bulging. And I'... Wed, 11 Aug 2010 03:04:04 EST Day 70. In Seattle! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3515028 Soooo I'm in seattle. And done with vacation. And I have no scale. Well I do. It just shows me weighing in at 230. which is some extreme amount of BS. You don't gain 16 pounds in a week. So I'm anxiously awaiting my return to pullman and my scale. So I know the damage the last week did for me.

And the 470 calorie kids meal I had at wendy's was not as bad as I thought it would be. Except the sodium content was terrible. and the fat. But at least I went with the kiddie meal.
<... Sun, 8 Aug 2010 12:18:25 EST Day 63 - Vacation D1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3492448 I've been so worried about gaining weight on vacation instead of losing. And I think I might come out all right. Even though last night I did have a Jack and Coke and 1.5 Daquiri's, today I went huckleberry picking, which is basically hiking up hills. And I went tubing, which is great substitute for weight lifting. And swimming.

So all in all I'm pretty sure I burned off all of those calories I had yesterday in alcohol.

And Tubing, you think about it, you are constantly ...
