For all the compliments on my quilt!! I've had people tell me it's not a quilt because there is no batting. How ridiculous-- a quilt by definition is 3 or more layers sewn together. TIED quilts are quilts. So are folded ones, such as the one I am working on. Plenty of hand sewing, plus it used LOTS of scraps!!!
Don't let people tell you things aren't right just because you don't do it their way! Dare to walk off the path!!!

Well hes done it again...My friend's son was announced last week as the CAPTAIN of the British/Irish Lions team. Its a great honor to make the team at all..only the top of the top are chosen..but to be Captain is a huge huge thing..and at his young age almost unheard of!! Congratulations Sam!!! This tournament is only played once every 4 years making it all the more special!!

Newfoundlands are water dogs. You would have a hard time swming near them they are rescue dogs. First thing she did when she saw the creek was run over the ice and snow and leaped in!! I'm thrilled she has the instinct...

Morning all---please think good thoughts for me today that the doc lets me start therapy and I can get OUT OF BED!!!
On the up side--down another 4 pounds--go figure I'm as sedentary as it gets and not eating real well due to being at the mercy of a man who does not cook. So how sm I losing???

So. Today was order day . I walkered myself across the street. Figured our how to navigate the bakery stairs (one crutch and the railing) got a bazillion Liners inthe cupcake pans. Kevin did good being talked thru mixing the batter. He made the buttercream while they were baking. Once they came out we came home so they could cool (another hobble across the street)

Well I'm finally home after 7 weeks. It's strange--I can't go upstairs. Sleeping in a pull out couch. Hard to navigate. Once I can actually do things this house is getting a thorough purging!!!

So that's one wonderful thing!! When she realized I was staying she flopped down heaved a huge sigh and slept from 10:30 last might till 6:30 this morning! Once I get some clothes down here things will be better-- I can be on my own schedule,

Sleep eludes me ALOT. Probably from lying around in bed or being in the chair all day. Hopefully when i see the doc on the 29th he will let me start walking!!!

Yesterday I made the painful trek down the stairs into the outdoors. Kevin held my leg while I slid over the seat on the plastic and got in the van. Ma drove me up the road to a lovely farm to see the chickens and mama goats. Beautiful place called Asgard Farm--was the home of Rockwell Kent.
I could sit in that position much longer so we headed back--it was so sunny and pretty I asked if she minded if we went to see Lucy. So I walked around the house to see my girl. She was so excited-...

So after my pity party yesterday (which I only allowed to last half an hour) I felt some better. I have found that if I'm worried, mad, sad, etc, and I allow myself a certain amount of time to totally devote to it, I can let it go and move on after.
Today when I get up for real not just a wake up like now at 2 am, I will make a plan for the day. Other than the county nurse coming I have no plans. But I will!!!

Today is angry day.

I'm angry the surgery didnt go well
Angry that I can't walk
Angry that I have to either lay in bed strapped to a machine or sit up strapped in a stuff brace.
Angry that I can't bake
Angry that I'm a burden on everyone

The days all run together when you know nothing but laying in bed and sitting in a chair. I did convince kevin to let me out for a short walk yesterday. It was hard but the air felt good. -

Ok so. Thursday got up. Washed as best I could. They loaded me I'm the van and we headed for lake placid. Got a wheelchair loaded me in that. Bloodwork done. To the exam room. All looks good. All 36 staples out. Hot the ok to increase flexing one degree at a time as long as there is no pain. Still no weight bearing.

Loaded me back in the car, back to the cottage. My son is here from CT. We had his birthday party then I slept. And slept. And slept. Don't know what's up with that!!!9

Hard day. Fighting with insurance company as they arent paying bills just to find out they were never billed because the woman at the hospital decided she knew they wouldn't pay for the equipment. So now fighting with her, then insurance again. All I want to do is sleep lol. But none of that'd either as the therapist is coming. Oh well!!
