NEWPEGGY's SparkPeople Blog NEWPEGGY's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Cize I am officially starting on Monday, as I have many things going on the end of this week, but I decided to do the first workouts today to judge where I am.

I am on the basic track, although doing the first dance routine didn't kill me.

I went to Shoprite and bought some containers (they have the rubbermaid on sale for $5), and plan to do the beach body diet included in the package.

Will post how much weight and inches really come off. Also, not sue what the fi... Tue, 3 May 2016 07:51:59 EST fitbit My family received fit bits when we were in the Family Circle healthier living contest. It was the original fitbit, but I ran it through the wash and it died. (That's the problem with the fit bits that clip on - you forget them in your pocket).

I just got a new fitbit - the blaze. In many ways an improvement, but the old fitbit - knew my name and a flower grew as I exercise throughout the day. I think I miss the old fitbit. Thu, 3 Mar 2016 09:05:48 EST Diet bet at work About half the office decided to run our own diet bet.

We put up $15 each, and weighed in.

We need to lose 4% of the weight by the Thursday before Easter. The free version lets you do the first 1.5 weeks for free, so try that.
To my surprise, I continued to do the runs, so I bought the upgrade for .99

You can play music while running the ap
I recommend slow music to start so the beat is closer to the slow pace you are likely to manage. <... Tue, 20 Aug 2013 22:02:18 EST ups and downs My husband is going to the gym three times a week. I am having trouble getting there more than once per week.

I am doing at home work outs, but I seem to have reasons why I do not make it to the gym - late meetings four times/week... etc

Excuses can't rule my life, but my life is unlikely to become less busy. I need a plan, so this week I am scheduling time - let's see how it goes Mon, 25 Feb 2013 06:43:42 EST One week in Weigh in last night...down one pound.

In this past week I went bowling, swimming, and to the gym..... A good start towards a new life.

Weigh in and stay motivated Wed, 20 Feb 2013 21:25:08 EST sunday My daughter, Amanda, and her friend Nicole, and I are planning a day of church, movies, and bowling - or maybe - iceskating. It should be fun.

I am counting the bowling as my exercise for the day.

Tuesday night is weigh-in

Sun, 17 Feb 2013 10:38:34 EST Saturday 4 days into Lent THere are things I have been doing well; I am eating a little better, and exercising daily.
I trained with a personal trainer on Thursday, so I count that as going to a class at the gym.
I have a big day planned for my daughter and I tomorrow, but we are trying to figure out what we are going to do today.

Keep with it everyone!
43 days until Easter!

Weigh in Tuesday night! Sat, 16 Feb 2013 08:27:23 EST Happy Valentine's Day Today is Valentine's Day.

Typically, I buy all my children candy and pack a little Valentine's Day card in their lunchbox. This year, three of my kids are at school, but I sent them little gifts - flowers, tunes and photo processing gift certificates instead of candy.
I bought my husband peanut/cashew mix, instead of a chocolate box.

Rather than going to dinner tonight, we booked a personal trainer this morning - I am working the night shift anyway.

Thu, 14 Feb 2013 06:35:17 EST Day one - Ash Wednesday So far, I managed to eat okay and exercise. Yeah!

I remembered not to eat meat - after I brought a Lean Cuisine to work for lunch...luckily I had granola and peanut butter in the kitchen.

I went to the gym and worked out for about 45 minutes between work and my operations meeting.

Everyone joining in, remember to track throughout Lent. 45 days until Easter. Wed, 13 Feb 2013 21:30:37 EST Weigh in Ok. Make someone smile once a day
Blog three times per week
Tue, 12 Feb 2013 22:31:37 EST getting ready for lenten challenge... water We all know the path to good health - more whole foods, more water, and less sugars PLUS exercise.

Drinking 8 glasses of water should start in the morning. Get up, drink 8 ounces, exercise, and drink some more. This way, you have already had two glasses before your first shower.

Having a glass of water BEFORE you eat any meal is a good idea, because our bodies sometimes confuse hunger and thirst. If you eat three meals a day - you have 5 glasses done without thinking. <B... Sun, 10 Feb 2013 14:17:18 EST Lent: guilt and its ability to help you diet Okay, so I have completely fallen off the wagon of diet and exercise.

I need to get into the habit again, so I propose the ultimate Lenten challenge. Lent is about giving up things which are hard to give up, and doing things which are hard to do. Bringing yourself into a better place.....

Yes, it does sound like a Weight Watchers commercial, so how about a Lenten challenge.

Weigh in on you healthy habits for this challenge.

Goal: 10% of your weight... Sat, 9 Feb 2013 08:17:13 EST kids leaving Today my three kids in college all hopped on planes to head back to school. While they were home, I made apple pie, CHristmas cookies, chicken pot pie - and a myriad of other "home favorites" - few of which are diet friendly.

I am going out today to stock up on fresh vegetables and fruit.

I think the problem is that I have yet to real find healthy recipes that I love, so it is easier to fall back on the familiar favorites when the kids are home.

Amanda, my onl... Sun, 6 Jan 2013 11:16:19 EST not so good yesterday I am a stress eater. In the past year, my in-laws, whom I have known since I was 16, suddenly became old. My father-in-law and mother-in-law are both having health issues. I went to see them before we all went out to dinner and they had Christmas cookies. (I love homemade CHristmas cookies). The plan to not eat before dinner FAILED. I ate Christmas cookies for lunch and then went to dinner and had chicken parmesan.

Not a good eating day.

At least I started off in the gym... Fri, 4 Jan 2013 06:15:30 EST Three's a charm The nice thing about not having to go to work is having extra time. It is 6:36 am, and I would have been on my way to work already, but today I am dressed and ready to meet with the personal trainer in an hour.
I know she will kick my butt at the gym.

I also know that I am going out to dinner with my brother and sister in-law's tonight, so I have decided to eat only zero point foods (according to WW scheme) between now and then.

I know that I am not supposed to "sav... Thu, 3 Jan 2013 06:40:47 EST day 2 - so far so good Today is day 2 of the New Year, and I am still trying to exercise daily.

I know what you are thinking - it is only day 2, but what you may not realize is that I already almost gave up.

Today, I thought about exercising in the morning (I am off ), but I decided to be lazy and stay in bed until 7. I had to run errands all day, and I returned home in time to start dinner.

I thought about NOT exercising, but I finally convinced myself to get on the treadmill and d... I want to be under 150,

I want to find time for friends - not simply a "hello" to my child... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 13:00:01 EST
