Almost 12 pounds! This could be my best round in over a year! What makes this round so productive? Could it be the team? Could it be that I am finally focused? Could it be that I had no other clothes in my closet that I could fit into? It's possible that it could be a combination of all of those. All I know is: This Girl's in a Zone!! I am more focused right now, to lose weight!!

I am doing everything I p... Sat, 20 Jul 2013 23:21:04 EST Goals for BLC22 Here I am at the beginning of BLC22 and I am heavier than I have been in 3 years. I lost 3 loved ones earlier this year all in a matter of 3 weeks! I fell into a depression. Emotional eating went into overdrive. I gained 15 pounds. I was going thru too much hurt to even care. I felt like I lost my whole world and I basically gave up on me.

Now I see the damage I have done and I am in the right mind-set to battle it! So I have a handful of goals to keep me focused over the next 12 ... Mon, 10 Jun 2013 00:31:11 EST My Tinkerbell ½ Marathon race story I have wanted to run this race ever since I heard of it! I belong to a team on Spark People that is called: The Forest Green Pixies. So running the Tinkerbell ½ Marathon seemed to be the perfect race, since I’m already a Pixie myself!! So I spoke to the other Pixies to see if anyone else would be interested in meeting up and running it with me. There were 3 other crazy Pixies who registered!

What were the biggest reasons I wanted to run this race?
~To run my first ½ Marathon... Fri, 25 Jan 2013 08:41:44 EST Wifey 2/14/48 - 12/29/12 This is a tribute to my Boyfriend who I called Wifey or WHN (what's his name).

We met in May 1998. He lived about 4 doors away. I went down to talk to his neighbor and he was there too. We visited for a couple hours then I went home. He took me out to dinner a few nights later. We seemed to hit it off really well. He told me that we will try the "2 Week Plan". I said what's that? He says we will re-evaluate ou... I picked Lisa up at her Hotel (we're not mentioning any names here) and took her up to Lake Tahoe for the day! I asked her in advance if she was interested in doing any fitness together and I was happy when she said Yes! Muahahahaha 18 Little did she know what I had in store for her!

At one of the Beaches. ... Tue, 18 Sep 2012 00:19:45 EST BLC19 Challenge #1 ~ Plan it! On July 18th, I would like to be in a size 12 pant. Right now I am between 16's & 14's.

In order to reach this goal I need to keep focused on my Food and Fitness! Food is 80% of this equation! It's so important in the whole weight loss game. But *I* don't think that it can be done by food alone. I must get my fitness in too! I need to keep active! (It feels good)

So here's my Plan:

~Keep my calories within my range 1250-1550 per day.
~Track my food daily... Fri, 27 Apr 2012 00:18:14 EST The 3 mile Red Nosed Run Today was my second time running in a race. All I could think of was, I just want to beat my time from the last race (41:06). Well this race was very hilly, and it was bone chilling cold!! I struggled to run on the hills. I walked most of them. I kept thinking how hard this course was! Was I going to make it? I couldn't even run 1/2 mile without walking!! I wasn't sure if it was the cold air, or the hills. I came to terms that I would run as much as I could then walk for a while to catch my b... Sun, 4 Dec 2011 23:45:18 EST Watermelon Recipes Did you know that there are more than 1200 different varieties of Watermelon, and grown in 96 different countries? Every year Americans down 4 billion pounds of this fruit, or is it a fruit? The Watermelon is more closely related to cucumbers & pumpkins than apples and bananas. So it's generally considered to be both a fruit and a vegetable. It's low in calories and high in vitamins: A, B6,and C. Plus Thiamine, magnesium & potassium. It also contains more lycopene, an antioxidant thought to p... Mon, 27 Jun 2011 23:06:17 EST NOW Challenge - Don't be so critical I can be so critical of me. I am my worst critic! I constantly see my flaws. Jiggly belly, arms, thighs, etc. How often do I look in the mirror or at a picture of me and say: "You've come a long way baby"! Or: "Damn! You look good today"! Those positive words don't come often enough. I really need to be good to me. I have made some HUGE changes in my life and I need to be proud of where I am currently in my weight loss journey!
<img src=" Sun, 29 May 2011 09:47:08 EST My very first 5k Today was my first 5k run. I have been a little nervous about it. I felt that I didn't get in enough training. Plus I got sick about 2 weeks befor the race. Which put a damper on my training. Sun, 1 May 2011 18:35:08 EST the 1st half of BLC 15 So here I am entering the 6th week of my 12 week challenge. My goal is to lose 12 pounds. I figured I would lose 1 pound per week. So far I have lost 8.4 pounds after 5 weeks! I am soo excited!

I have been working out 6-7 days a week doing 60-90 mins of cardio with 30 mins of strength training. As the weather gets nicer and the days get longer I can do more outside.

I have also changed my eating. I do feel that food is the whole reason I have dropped these 8.4 pounds. ... Thu, 2 Sep 2010 22:27:36 EST My Goals for the next 12 weeks Instead of just thinking about my goals I am putting them into words and they are posted here for all to see. Now I must be accountable for them. These are my goals for the next 12 weeks:

1. Keep my calories under 1500 a day. This requires me to enter them into the nutrition tracker daily.

2. Workout a minimum of 500 minutes per week.

3. Get out and ride my bike twice a week.

4. Food: Reduce beef down to 1 meal a week; eat seafood twice a week, and ... Tue, 4 May 2010 21:01:40 EST Spread the Spark Weekend-Reno NV Those of us who live in the Northern Nevada area met up on Saturday January 23 2010 for the Spread your Spark Weekend. We had 11 ladies in attendance. It was exciting to meet everyone face to face. Emerald City Coffee was the site for this meeting. (A very cool coffee shop) We all brought our books: The Spark.

Jeannie & Michelle

Michelle is our local leader and SP celebrity! She actually helps out on th... Sat, 23 Jan 2010 21:49:21 EST The Belly Monster I joined the local gym 10/12/09. I was a little hesitant about joining because every other time I ended up quitting after a few months. (and still having to pay until the end of the contract) As winter nears, there isn't enough daylight for me to continue my 4.5 mile walks in the evenings. Plus my body was showing signs of having flabby skin. I had to change things up. I didn't want to look flabby after I finish losing my 100 pounds! The gym was the best resource to achieve this goal.
<... Tue, 13 Oct 2009 20:55:26 EST It feels really good! As of 8/13/9 I officially made it to Onederland! It feels really good to be here! It has been a long time since I have seen these types of numbers on my scale. I remember being at this weight in 1992! That's 17 years ago! Dang! I look at my pictures that I have posted on SP of when I was at my heaviest, and I just can't believe that was me 6 months ago!

I'm also wearing a size that I never thought I would see again! I can't wait for these to be my "big" clothes! Lol! It definately... Sat, 15 Aug 2009 19:15:03 EST Conquering the "plateau" The end of April and beginning of May was a tough time for my weight loss. it seemed that I struggled with the same 3-4 pounds. I would lose them, then gain them back over the weekend. Lose them again only to re-gain them once more. I was on my 3rd week of a disappointing plateau, when I decided to change 1 thing. I added 60 more minutes of cardio a day. I'm doing a average of 120 minutes of cardio Monday through Friday. Then on the weekends I'm doing 180 minutes.

As of 5/29/9 I ... Mon, 1 Jun 2009 21:19:46 EST Losing the weight Today I weighed in because it was the begining of the month, and I am down to 224! Thats 5 more pound lost in April. Which brings my total weight loss to 20 pounds since February 1st. I am very pleased with all my hard work and overcoming obsticles along the way.

I have noticed that I can raise my foot on to my thigh (without having to grab it and place it there) to put my socks on. I can bend down and pick something off the floor easier. Getting dressed isn't such a workout anymor... Fri, 1 May 2009 08:30:35 EST Wardrobe Malfunction This is a funny story that happened to me this evening. I'm calling it a "wardrobe malfunction"!

I got out of the house to go for a bike ride. The wind is about 20mph, so there is some resistance. I'm peddling as hard as I can, huffing and puffing, but I'm barely moving. (the wind is really blowing) I can feel a draft at my belly button. So I reach down carefully, because I'm still a bit rickety on this bike, and ut oh... The zipper of my pants was down! Not just down a little, it... Thu, 23 Apr 2009 22:35:59 EST
