Hello Sparkworld: I have been absent from these pages again. I have been dealing with some issues recently including being medically cleared to return to work, which should be a good thing, but as I have no job to return to, it is a problem. I have applied for a couple of openings, and actually had an interview for one, but I am not feeling too confident. He said everything was looking really good and he will see me in a month to see how I am progressing towards possible returning to work. He was telling me that since my surgery, he has completed another case similar to mine, which was amazing. Mine was a case of the stem breaking rather than the usual dislocation of the ball. It is Monday nearly noon in AZ and a beautiful hot day! I have been out to my therapy appointment which went well, except that my muscles all ached as I was doing my exercises. I got a progress report done, as I am seeing my ortho surgeon on Wednesday, and the therapist said I had made improvements in most of my areas. That made me happy. I got the news that all my result were my hemoglobin is back up after my surgical blood more iron tablets for me! I also was told to take Vitamin D daily, as my value was normal, but very much on the lower side so, I lost one medication and gained two new ones....... It is Saturday night and I can truthfully say I did very little today. After a hectic week of VBS. hubby and I needed a day to recuperate. Sun, 11 Jun 2017 00:53:49 EST Whew, made it through the week! Well, VBS is over for this year. We survived! I am all stiff and sore from quite so much sitting, but otherwise fine. Recuperate this weekend and then start new adventures next week. I expect to hear from the Physical Therapy people next week, as well as continuing my home exercises that have been a little neglected this past week. Still all is going well, except for the very end of the closing...I was unable to see what was happening, but there was shaving cream and lots of children involved...very messy! I herded kids into the bathroom for cleanup detail. Not sure whose big idea this was, but not the greatest idea in my opinion. One more day of adventures, including a tradition of "water days". Also not sure what this involves, as I have not been at VBS in the past.... Other than forgetting that I was holding on to my daughter's car keys while she worked at VBS, and stranding her and a friend at the church...the day went pretty good. Wed, 7 Jun 2017 02:32:42 EST Survived the first night of VBS! Well, I survived the first night of VBS. We had 113 kids pre-registered, and I helped register walk-ins until there were 140 registered. Whew, that is a lot of kids to move around from area to area for lessons, games, food and crafts. I got to watch them all move through the hallways and no one got lost, hurt, or destroyed any decorations. Apparently everyone was returned to their parents/caregivers at the end of the evening as well. As I said, the kid-friendly food was not the most heal... Tue, 6 Jun 2017 02:39:29 EST June 4, 2017 It is Sunday evening and we were at church most of the day helping or supervising set up for VBS this coming week. It becomes quite a production! They rearrange the entire church and set up various stations for the kids to move between, as well as prepare a kid-friendly meal to serve them in shifts. A lot of planning goes into this week. My hubby is in the kitchen and has planned the meals and arranged for the food to be used. Unfortunately, kid-friendly does not necessarily mean healthy.... He has been discharged from the hospital since Friday afternoon and is now in a Transitional Care Center.....thirty miles away.....but at least our insurance is covering it even though it is "out of our network".......there was nothing available within 45 miles that was "in network".
