And today was all about exercise! The one word my husband hates to hear! LOL I got my voucher for the fitness center at the hospital. So for the next two months, I have free access to the gym, pool and classes. After that I'm not sure what I am going to do. As much as I love the water, that's what I want, but not sure if we can afford a membership right now.

I weighed in this morning at 314.1 lbs! I've almost hi... Thu, 22 May 2014 14:52:42 EST Dropping the Pounds!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5688867 On January 2, 2014, I weighed in at 333 lbs! I know that is nothing to be proud of. But the fact is that now on May 6, 2014 , I now weigh in at 318.1 lbs!!! That's 14.9 lbs!!!! That's the most I have lost in the past three years!!! I'm crying tears of joy over this!!!

Since my doctor put me on Metformin for pre-diabetes, it seems like I am dropping weight every single day! When you see the numbers on the scale go down it makes you feel good. I know we are not supposed to look at ... Tue, 6 May 2014 10:57:17 EST New Game Plan http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5669757 I've been working since January 21, 2014! I was hired as a Customer Service Agent at US Airways. I began training on January 21! We finished training on February 28 and I began working my schedule on March 5th. I love my job! I'm a gate agent at the airport! My classmates/coworkers and I have a blast doing our job. It is like any other job, well maybe a bit worse with aggravated and upset customers, but you have them no matter what job you do!

I got health, vision and dental insu... Fri, 11 Apr 2014 10:53:55 EST Aiming High (well higher than normal)! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5589359 So today is day #5 of no sugar. It really isn't as hard as I thought it would be. But then again maybe that's b/c I have not been outside of the house! I'm on this hot green tea with lemon and honey kick! Its not bad. I'm thinking about trying the peach tea again, this time with honey and see if that makes a difference. Although at this moment I'm too hot to drink hot tea!

I did the Cardio Blast Walk It Out with warm up and cool down. I haven't worked out since last Saturday, so ... Fri, 10 Jan 2014 15:03:46 EST Thankful for Sparkpeople http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5587791 I'm so very thankful for this site. Everyone is on here for the same basic reason. To gain control of their health. You can be as vague about yourself as you want or as specific as you want. No one writes bad things about your weight or your struggle or your journey. Everyone always has something nice to say or something helpful to say.

There's no tunnel vision here because everyone has a different perspective that adds to yours. As many times and I stop and start at this, no on... Thu, 9 Jan 2014 08:30:12 EST Things that Amuse me http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5585801 So yesterday was the first day I was to go without added sugar. I had 2 cups of coffee with no sugar or sweetner of any kind. I managed that quite well!

Then around 10:30 am my sugar decided to drop to 63. I was feeling good and cleaning up the bathroom and bedroom and bam! sugar drops and I get hot, sweaty, and shaky from inside out. So I had a banana and a bowl of cereal to bring it back up.

Later on in the afternoon I decided to have a cup of hot peach green tea... Tue, 7 Jan 2014 14:56:04 EST 2014: The Year of Changes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5583920 I will start out by saying: THIS IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE LONG and NOT all about diet, exercise... This is LIFE!!! So if you want to stop reading now, I will not hold it against you! LOL

I probably start out every year with the intentions of making life better for me. Although the kind of "person" I am, I typically quit after a bit. Something in life comes up and changes things for me. Apparently I don't handle change very well!! So here it is again a new year and I have new... Mon, 6 Jan 2014 07:17:02 EST Day#15 of Body Key http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5363914 Tonight I got, by e-mail, the results of my Body Key Genetics test. I am considered a fat trimmer. People with the genetic pattern like mine absorb more dietary fat into our bodies and have a slower metabolism. I have a greater tendency for weight gain. So for me I have to reduce the fat in my diet and reduce the calories. And the second part of my genetics test says that people with this genetic pattern are less able to break down body fat for energy in response to exercise. We tend to... Tue, 21 May 2013 21:18:12 EST Body Key Day #8 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5356336 Yesterday I started back to water cardio, which I absolutely love!!! Anyway, I did that yesterday and today! 244

Per the scales at the YMCA my weight is now:

I am thrilled about the progress so far! Tue, 14 May 2013 13:03:57 EST New Program http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5349116 So I've changed things up, yet again. This time I'm trying a 90 Day challenge called BodyKey. Today was the start of it. I've sent off my DNA to figure out if I'm a carb burner, fat burner or better balancer and what kind of exercises I should be doing. I plan to finish this week out at home with my Biggest Loser on Xbox and next week, provided my swim shorts have arrived, I'm going back to water cardio. That has worked best for me and I loved it.

Today I took my aloe shot, my Dou... Tue, 7 May 2013 21:30:32 EST 2013: Starting Again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5258011 Life can sure throw you come curveballs! But the main this is do you move out of the way or do you get hit hard by that curveball? I got hit a couple of times but then I learned to move out of the way! Sometimes I even CAUGHT it! LOL Any way, after spending 3 weeks with family in Indiana (not working out at all, eating whatever I wanted), it all caught up to me. I gained back almost all of the weight I had previously lost. I am SO disappointed in myself. But I haven't given up. I've gotten ba... Wed, 20 Feb 2013 21:31:27 EST Day # 52: Where is time going???? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5101703 Wow I've finished day # 52!!!

I'm surprised at myself! Who knew I was gonna make it this long? I'm so amazed!!! I'm making progress too! I'm currently down 15 pounds from when I started! Some of my clothes are starting fit a little more loosely! Which is always a GOOD thing.

Even though I felt as though I was slacking off, things got kind of busy with school starting back up for us. Job interview after job interview after job interview... finally I have a full time job... Tue, 2 Oct 2012 08:53:16 EST Day #36: Progress http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5082028 236 Time for me!!!

I'm so very proud of myself! This morning I was letting myself get down because of the money situation and not having but so much for gas and groceries, so again groceries are suffering. But I'm doing my best. Its NOT a lot of pastas, so that's a good thing!!! Any way I didn't get out of the house at my usual time. I was stressing over money and then I couldn't find my headphones and phone case for working out. FINALLY I got to the YMCA at 8:5... Mon, 1 Oct 2012 11:23:40 EST Day #34 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5079672 Today is day #34.
I went to the YMCA for 133 today. I love playing that game! It's a complete body workout and I sweat like crazy! Good thing I take my 194 with me! I did so much better this week. I didn't pull any muscles and I didn't get hurt. I noticed I wasn't having a difficult time with any of it. Although I was very hot and sweating 198 , but I do believe that is a good thing!

Yesterday was a rough day for my water intake. I didn't... Sat, 29 Sep 2012 14:57:50 EST Day 32/ Things I've Noticed About Myself http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5076780 This challenge for the fall is really helping me stay on track with my water! I've never had so much water! I know its a good thing. This week while doing my walking on the treadmill, I've actually been sweating! WOOHOO!!! That just means to me that I am working hard. I'm doing good!! Mr. Charles at the YMCA told me today when I hit day 84 he's gonna have balloons and confetti for me! LOL So now I have to keep pushing through so I can hold him to his word and see if he actually does it! LOL T... Thu, 27 Sep 2012 08:33:40 EST Day 30 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5074081 On August 28, 2012 I took me 33 minutes to walk 1.3 miles. And today I blew that time out of the water!!!! I walked 1 mile in 17 minutes and 24 seconds! Then I cooled down so I walked a total of 1.21 in 25 minutes. 315 I am so very proud of myself! In 30 days I've improved my WALKING time. I have been striving to do better each time I walk. But for last week I had been doing the stationary bike. 316 I'm just thrilled beyond words right now!!!! A couple of other thi... Tue, 25 Sep 2012 08:32:13 EST Day 28 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5072081 Yesterday I played volleyball for an hour and a half again. 133 Only problem was I got hurt right to start with. I bent over to get the ball from the floor and pulled a muscle in my butt down the back of my leg on my right side. I walked it off and was ok. But then when we were practicing some drills, I dove for the ball and landed on that right hip/butt and pulled that muscle again. That time I was in some pain. I couldn't get up off the floor. But I managed to get up and the Coa... Sun, 23 Sep 2012 21:48:41 EST Day 26 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5069440 I've made it to day 26!!! I've hit a milestone for me! I'm on my longest streak ever! I'm so proud of myself. I've beat my personal record of only 14 days! And today it took me 9 minutes and 36 seconds to walk a half of a mile!!! I'm getting better! I increased the amount of weight in some of my exercises today.

I've managed 7 glasses of water so far today! I'm making progress! Can't wait to go play volleyball tomorrow. I know I will probably be so sore again on Sunday, but Sund... Fri, 21 Sep 2012 16:35:13 EST Day 25 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5067533 I don't know how many people from SparkPeople use the YMCA, but I would not go anywhere else. I tried a gym years ago. Felt so out of place. Then along came the YMCA. I joined because I needed to lose the weight. I was pleased with how nice people were. How willing they were to help. Then things for me changed and I stopped going. Here it is 10-11 years later and I'm still for the YMCA.

I love the one I go to. Every morning I see the same Fitness person on the floor. He's very br... Thu, 20 Sep 2012 09:11:33 EST Day 24 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5066017 Well thanks to SparkPeople and myself logging in and tracking my workouts, I've discovered that I have been doing this for 24 days and not 23 like I thought. I started August 27th. So WOOHOO!!!! Almost a month now! I am amazed that I have gone this long! I'm so very proud of myself! I am doing. I am being productive. I am making changes. I am making progress some where along the line!! 24 days in and I am still going. I am still going to my counselor, so that's another positive!!

... Wed, 19 Sep 2012 09:09:40 EST Day 23 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5064407 Even though I was disappointed yesterday, I'm still here and I'm still going. I can't give up. I will not give up. This weight will come off sooner or later. Although I'd like sooner but I'd rather it come off slowly so I can keep it off! I don't ever want to be like this again. I want to get healthy and fit and be able to be active and find clothes that fit without costing hundreds of dollars. I want to walk into stores and not worry about if they have my size or not. I want to go to amuseme... Tue, 18 Sep 2012 06:35:59 EST Day 22 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5062628 I stepped on the scale this morning. Actually I did it four times and each time the number did not change. According to the scale I've gained FOUR pounds!!!!! I'm not quite happy with this. I'm working out, I've changed my portion sizes, I'm not eating junk. I'm staying within my calorie range, so what's the deal?! After I go to the YMCA I will see what their scale says and then when I get home I will take measurements to see if I've dropped any measurements.

Because this has frus... Mon, 17 Sep 2012 06:32:46 EST Day 21 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5061521 I'm so glad that I decided today would be a day of nada! After playing 90 minutes of volley ball and then spending the rest of the day, from 1-5, helping my husband re-organize the garage, I am moving so very slowly today. EVERY SINGLE muscle on my body HURTS!!!!!!! I can't believe that I hurt this much. I knew I hadn't played volleyball in a long time but geesh! I am really outta shape! Guess yesterday I used muscles I haven't used in years. I don't even know if I could muster up the energy... Sun, 16 Sep 2012 12:18:46 EST Day 20 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5060418 244

I went to the YMCA and played 90 minutes of Volleyball. Oh my gracious, that was so much fun!!!! We were sweating something fierce too! LOL I know at least two of us were drowning in it!! LOL
We all agreed that even if the YMCA "coach" isn't there, we're still gonna meet and play again. Its a workout that is actually a lot of fun!!! I am so glad that I signed up for it. I think I'll keep doing it as long as they have it. Its the one sport that I am pretty decen... Sat, 15 Sep 2012 13:14:06 EST Day 19 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5059167 WOOHOO I have worked out a total of 15 days so far. Which is an accomplishment for me! WOOHOO!

Tomorrow is volleyball at the YMCA. I'm ready! That will be my cardio workout for tomorrow and then Sunday I have a free day!! YAY!!! Even my classes for this quarter end this weekend. So when I get my exams done today I will be completely finished with school for a couple of weeks. It will be nice to have a break from that! But not "breaks" from working out, only ONE day off a week if ... Fri, 14 Sep 2012 13:29:50 EST How Long Do I Wait? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5057137 I changed up my workout routine because I had been doing the same routine for about two years (off and on). But when I do the new workouts, I feel like I am "cheating" myself. I used to do 30 minutes of walking, then lower body machines and upper body machine and the ab machine. But now I just do one thing/area a day. Yesterday was upper body. Today is cardio. I just feel like its not making a difference. I just wonder how long I keep doing this routine before I see it actually working? First... Thu, 13 Sep 2012 06:50:36 EST Middle of Week 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5056085 So its Wednesday on week 3 for me!!

While I am working on my weight, I am also working on my mental health since I battle depression quite a bit. My counselor says that I am way too hard on myself. Everything that comes out of my mouth and brain is negative. I have to start using more positive thoughts and words. I told my counselor I was trying to workout and lose weight and get to the gym... He was like you're not TRYING, you are DOING it. Stop saying trying because you are doi... Now to keep it up this week and next week.

Can't help but to wonder, is it wrong that I take the weekends "off" from exercise? I still eat in moderation and don't binge or eat a lot of junk food... well ok Sunday I did b/c of football. I made our queso dip and chips and a buffalo c... Mon, 10 Sep 2012 06:41:19 EST Tough Workouts On Me! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5048779 I was in a comfort zone for so long and now that I am in a new area, it HARD!!!!!! Oh my goodness, there are some muscles I don't work or haven't worked in a long time and there are others that I don't have such a difficult time with. I managed to complete the workout routines, even though I didn't quite do ALL the reps as planned but I did what I could and let me tell you, my arms are sore and my legs are sore. My arms more than my legs right now.

AND.... I signed up today to sta... Fri, 7 Sep 2012 16:14:38 EST Changing Things Up! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5044218 Typically when I go to the YMCA, I spend about 20-30 minutes on the treadmill walking. I walk for a mile. Trying to beat my time each day. Then I go and do the machines. I do arms, legs and abs all in one day after walking. I've been doing all that off and on for about 2 years now. I've never done it enough to need to change anything. But I decided that I will change things up. I used to do Body for Life many years ago. It seemed to work for me, although I never completed the whole programs. ... I worked out 5 days last week and took the weekend off. I was just tired and felt a break would do me some good. Today is Monday... Normal routine is to be up at 5:30 a.m. but since today is a holiday, my husband didn't have to go to work this morning. So the alarm was set for 7:30 so I could get up and get to the YMCA (they weren't opening til 8 a.m. b/c of the holiday). So I got up, stepped on the 192<... EEKK!!!!
I could make excuses all day long but the excuses only hurt me and hinder me from reaching my goals. So no excuses. Just admitting that I stopped what was working so well for me. That's my history though, I always quit before I finish.

Because of the depression that has crept back into my mind and my life, I've decided to admit I need some help understanding me and how to fix ME. I'm not broken just a few knicks here... Mon, 27 Aug 2012 20:44:12 EST Curve balls a plenty!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4966692 Why is it when I set my mind to something and am determined to do something, life throws me a few curve balls and keeps me from what I was determined to do???

I haven't worked out since Monday!!! UGH. I'm so disappointed in myself. Tuesday I got side tracked by school work and phone calls about jobs. I got a part time job now with Hallmark. So I will be working a mere 3 days a week (maybe an hour or two). Right after that phone call I got a call from another merchandising company o... How can you sleep with fire detectors going off at 1 am and 3:30 am with no fire, no smell of fire, nothing. The weather outside was very nasty. So we weren't sure what was going on. We couldn't get them to stop til my husband took one out of the ceiling and took the battery out only to find that the detector is WET!!! And the ceiling around it was damp. So now we gotta make the landlord aware so he can get someone to come find out what's... Wed, 11 Jul 2012 07:00:32 EST WOOHOO Go me!! I used to just sleep in when he got ready for work at his other job. But now I'm a good housewife! LOL I get up make coffee and make his breakfast and pack his lunch. (He lives with his dad full time so I only get him everyother weekend and 2 weeks during the summer!) I feel like I've been slacking off so bad since he's been here. But I took him with me Monday when I went to my water cardio class. Then tuesday I didn't go to class because I typically go at night on Tuesdays for the deep water class. But I had a telephone interview for a job at 7:30 p.m. so I didn't make the class, however, I still got some exerc... I tried one last year but didn't keep up with it and didn't finish the challenge. This one is for 9 weeks. This is week one. So far not too bad. I managed (2) 20 oz and (1) 16.9 oz bottles of water yesterday. Which is MORE than I normally drink which is 0 water. ( S.N.: Does it still count as water if I ad a green tea mix to the water? I have tons of questions!!) This challenge seems to have started off better than the last one I attempt... The results of that physical are not that great but they aren't that bad either. I have a vitamin D deficiency, so he gave me and RX for that. My bad cholesterol is high but not high enough for medicine, so I have to change everything to LOW fat. Ok manageable. And he said that I am "pre-diabetic", which has a lot to do with my weight. So he said wants to watch me closely over the ... Tue, 5 Jun 2012 22:38:35 EST Going Again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4896303 I swear my weight is a huge roller coaster ride. And it does NOT help that I can't stick to something. I have to find a way to stay on track and get this under control. I'm 34 years old and weigh 323 lbs. My son is 14 and weighs 239.2!!!! I try to get him to get active but the issue is he watches me and says "Well you don't do anything, why should I?" And the old mom thing of "Because I said so" doesn't really work on him when it comes to the issue of weight. So now I have to really get focus... Thu, 24 May 2012 14:45:35 EST Still going! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4664922 Its a new year. I've been slacking a lot about losing this weight. But I haven't totally given up. Back in November I stepped on the scale and saw 300!!!!!!!! I haven't seen that number in over 3 years!!! I was ecstatic. But that didn't help b/c I didn't continue working out. And so I went back up to 311.4 lbs. With the new year came new wants and goals. I say this every year and well as long as I try and work on losing the weight, I'll keep making the resolutions to lose weight. At least I'... Sat, 7 Jan 2012 21:08:40 EST Seeing some results http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4453369 Wow, I haven't written since May 27th?! Geesh! I guess by reading my journal you can tell I don't stick to things very well. I don't know why I just don't. I got on the scale the other day and found out I am down to 303 now! I can actually see under 300 coming!!!! I was ecstatic to see 303 on the scale. I know that's not a number to be happy about to some people. But to me its another victory, another stone turned, another goal down. Little by little. I am NOT where I wanted to be by this ti... Sun, 28 Aug 2011 20:31:49 EST Getting this rolling again... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4260413 At 5:30 this morning, Alex and I were up and getting ready to head out to the gym. I think we made it there around 6:00 am. (Still that's an accomplishment for both of us!) He's still not able to stick with one thing for very long. I guess that's b/c of his ADHD. But he's getting better. He actually did about 15 minutes on the treadmill before he went off ot something else! I got my complete workout routine down. I think that next week he and I will start going to water aerobics classes. I ... Fri, 27 May 2011 18:57:31 EST Stress and Relief http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4258794 My hubby's diabetes has been out of control for far too long. And now that he's trying to get it all corrected, we're finding out that there are other problems. He has been diagnosed with gastroparesis. And now he's got to go to a specialist for his eyes because its like he's trying to look through water. I'm worried and stressed about him. If things don't get better, he'll end up having a feeding tube put in. He says he doesn' t want that to happen. All I can do is pray and help him eat bet... Thu, 26 May 2011 22:40:55 EST Here we go again!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4252008 Well I haven't been active on here or in the gym since January! That's a long time to go without working out! So much has gone on that made it a little more difficult for me to get to the gym. My oldest son, Alex , is now living with me again. He's been living with his dad since 2006. I was unemployed and homeless so it was for the best the he lived with his dad during that time. Any way, he's been with me since January 15th. Before he moved in with us, we were barely getting by on 60 to 100 ... I've worked out 3 of the 4 days of the New year. (Only because the Y was closed on the 1st!).

I went to the Cardio H20 Class again tonight. Good gravy I'm gonna be sore tomorrow too! But at least I'm working and pushing myself through it. I'm on a mission and I can't stop til I've completed everything and reached my goal.

It's going to take a while before I start to feel more energy but at least in a couple of wee... Sun, 2 Jan 2011 13:43:09 EST Dragging Myself http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3774910 I've been doing pretty good by my standards! LOL But then again my standards aren't as high as they probably should be. I'm getting up at 5:15AM. I did it 3 days last week and 2 so far this week. I set a goal to walk 5 miles a week but in the three days I worked out last week, I did over 5 miles. I think that for now I will leave it at 5... I don't want to jack it up and put myself in a bind trying to meet that goal but again I know I need to challenge myself to do more. Well I will work ... Wed, 10 Nov 2010 11:00:54 EST
