The Doctor is getting to know me well. This year (he knows I will go off eating and exercise a few weeks or months after seeing him) he has put me on a strict 1200/day calorie Diabetic Diet and want to see results when I return in 3-4 months or else he will put me on pills. Not sure if the pills are for Diabetes 2 or weight... Thu, 22 May 2014 11:23:35 EST Doctor's Appointments make me Feel Old Well it's that time of year when my yearly physical at the Doctor's is done. I hate this time of year, not so much for the actual physical, but for the results of the tests performed. I guess I am lucky that the big "C" was not found, but other things have cropped up. Hypertension (high blood pressure) and somewhat high cholesterol, plus a raise in my glucose ( not diabetes, but prediabetes). So now, I get the joy of adding yet more pills to my repetoire of pills to be consumed daily. It s... Sun, 3 Feb 2013 12:35:19 EST Starting Over Well....I finally did it, and not a happy camper either. I have reached 195lbs. Not good. My stamina, dedication, motivation and such just flew out the window. I was doing so good there for a while, but between one thing and another the walking has
diminished and the swimming has decreased (not stopped entirely) due to cold and lousy weather. I did swim last week, almost every day, and this week so far, just yesterday. Hoping for maybe today, if it warms up, just a bit.
<BR... Fri, 12 Oct 2012 13:47:56 EST New Swimming Pool It's been a long time coming, but, I finally have my pool. I love swimming. It has been a stressful time since the pool company has tried to screw us numerous times. So far, they put the steps in the wrong place along with the wrong steps, resulting in more cement for the patio to be put down in order to access the steps, and they want to charge us for the extra to correct their mistakes, I don't think so. One day they show me how to run the Auto Vac and then the next day they come into m... Thu, 27 Sep 2012 12:21:42 EST Today is B-Day (Oh the Memories or Lack Thereof) Do people come up to you and say "I remember when you were this high (with their hand about knee level". My answer to them is a big NO. How could I remember when I couldn't even talk then, and especially now some 59 years later. Frankly, I just want to tell them "Lady, I am lucky if I remember what I did last month, last year or even last week. My kids love to tease me and say, " I remember when you told me " knowing I just can't recollect that memory. Some of their so call memories are ... Thu, 8 Mar 2012 13:32:18 EST Keeping it Honest I am trying to keep it honest. Did I cheat this week? No not yet. I did go out for breakfast yesterday and had french toast but left almost half of it, since I was full. I had a banana before I went. I have a banana every morning and if I don't, I feel that something is missing all day. Just a habit, I guess. Being honest has paid off too. I lost 1lb. Yeah for me.

Communication between hubby and myself is somewhat better. We talk quite late at night by emails, since he is at... Sat, 3 Mar 2012 10:06:57 EST OMG I Did It OMG, I finally walked the 5 mile mark today. I have been trying to reach the 5 miles a day mark since I moved here. I used to do it all the time when I lived in New Brunswick. Well to be honest it was easy then, basically because the scenery was magnificent. You never knew what type of animal you would see. Anything from a deer, moose, fox or a bear. Yes, I did see a bear one time and thank goodness I was with a walking friend then, because it sure did scare us. We didn't know if we sh... Mon, 27 Feb 2012 13:06:25 EST Another Weeks Gone By Another week has gone by. Yes I gained 1lb. It is not to say I have been eating carelessly, but more due to the fact that little to no exercising has been done due to an extremely sore back. Some days I can hardly get out of bed, but, out of bed I must get since I had to work most days. I put it out during last weekend shift doing the spring cleaning episode + the snow shovelling. It just hasn't been the same since. Today is probably the first day it has seem to be somewhat normal, so ou... Sun, 19 Feb 2012 11:54:05 EST Magic Jack Sucks I don't know if any of you have ever heard of Magic Jack. It is a telephone system in which you pay an annual fee and you are able to talk to anyone all over the world for free. Well I am here to tell you that it officially SUCKS. My hubby is in New Caledonia (a small island off the coast of Australia). He left on February 1, 201l and I have yet to have a conversation with him on the phone, without it cutting off because of connection problems. It just doesn't work. I can talk with my s... Thu, 9 Feb 2012 11:35:49 EST Lots of Exciting Happenings Well today is the 2nd day of my new life (again).
Ballooning up to 190lbs did it for me. That is enough incentive to move my butt and start back faithfully on SparkPeople. So far:

1. I am back exercising and walking 60 minutes a day.
2. Eating properly and watching what I eat. I have no choice my daughter is living
with me now, and she is doing the cooking and portioning out my food.
3. Eating healthy lunches, breakfasts & dinners, and snacks.
4. ... Mon, 6 Feb 2012 12:39:25 EST HELP!!!! Let Me In .. Let Me In Well I have been MIA for awhile. When trying to get on the site for Sparkpeople, unfortunately the site just won't open up past the bar at the top. I can manage to get on other sites on my computer but it seems only Sparkpeople won't let me in. How long I will be on today is anybody's guess, because as soon as I change the page I lose it and when I close down and try to open again, nope no luck. I just seem to be lucky today.
Well, yesterday was Day 1 of my new start. This time I ju... Mon, 7 Nov 2011 10:16:37 EST Gone but not Forgotten is officially two weeks today that I gave up my best friend and walking buddy, Pepper. I know it was the humane and kindest thing I could do for him, but on lonely nights with my hubby gone, I miss him soooo much, just not all the poop. I have been keeping myself busy so I won't dwell on it sooo much, but it is hard, especially now with my hubby signing a new contract with a firm that will be sending him in the new year to New Caledonia. He will be gone for 10 weeks and back for ... Fri, 7 Oct 2011 09:42:53 EST Saying "Goodbye" is breaking my heart Last March I purchased a 12 week old Coton du Tulear puppy. He has been my walking partner (when possible), my companion (with husband gone so often) and someone to tell all my ups and downs too (yes I know, I am not nuts, but he can still listen. At the time, my hours were few and far between, with no increase in sight, but due to an employee being transferred, my hours have increased dramatically. My puppy's name is Pepper, and being a Coton, he suffers from Separation Anxiety on occasion... Wed, 14 Sep 2011 12:43:47 EST Still Alive and Kicking It's been awhile since I have made a blog entry. Just too busy I guess. I have been working ridiculous hours, in fact, this is the 1st day off in 8 days, that's 55 hours straight working. Whew!!!! I am sooo tired. I even managed to go for a small walk everyday with the dog. To say that my feet are sore is an understatement.

I stepped on the scale and YES, it moved down, 1lb, but it moved at least. Have I been watching what I eat, sometimes, have I stopped night snacking, heck... Fri, 15 Jul 2011 08:59:08 EST M.I.A. but I'm Back Well it has been over a month that I pretty much left SparkPeople. I literally let myself go thinking (stupid I know) just one bite won't hurt me. Ya...that was a month ago. I have officially gained all my weight back, whew not good, and now I have to start all over. My walking buddy has been missing lately because her hubby had hip surgery, but that is no excuse for myself.

I went for a long walk with Pepper, since he can now finally keep up with me. Mind you when we got home ... Mon, 13 Jun 2011 12:06:30 EST A Walking Buddy Finally, I have found a walking buddy. I am sooo excited. No more excuses not to go out for a walk. Poor Pepper just can't seem to keep up with me, and in turn, I just can't get my head around walking so darn slow. I know, he is just a baby still, but I will still continue to take him out for his walk everyday, I just won't count it as the only exercise I will be getting that day. We went for a long walk today (60 minutes) with some sit breaks in between, and when we got home, he decided ... Mon, 9 May 2011 11:42:57 EST HAPPY EASTER I would like to just take this time to wish one and all a very Happy Easter. I hope your weekend affords you the opportunity to visit with your family, friends and loved ones and promises to be a great holiday weekend for all. Take care and watch what you are eating and how much and a successful weekend it should be. Take care all. Fri, 22 Apr 2011 08:20:17 EST Losing Slowly I am being so cautious about overeating, night snacking and portion control. It is paying off, I am losing slowly but losing nonetheless. I started at 186 2 weeks ago and I am happy to report that I am now at 181.4. WhooHoo. I go for walks, not as regular as I used to because the weather has been lousy, rain, rain, rain, but little ones either to get the mail and around the block (which takes about 15 minutes) and try to do it again making it twice a day. Poor Pepper gets tired if I try ... Mon, 18 Apr 2011 08:26:38 EST My 2 Year Anniversary Wow, it is 2 years already that I have quit smoking. I still crave, but it gets easier and easier to just say no. I really don't want to be where I was 2 years ago, coughing, coughing and coughing. I feel great, except for the weight.

I am losing but in ounces not pounds, which is better than not losing at all, I guess. My exercising has decreased only because Pepper can't walk as far as I can, so our walks exist of around the block, sometimes twice a day, but I guess some exer... Fri, 8 Apr 2011 08:19:38 EST Pepper and Separation Anxiety - HELP Well it has been two weeks since getting my little pup, Pepper. He is basically a really good puppy, but I am beginning to wonder if he suffers from Separation Anxiety. Everytime I go to work, whether it is for 4 hours or 8 hours, I always come home to a real mess in his kennel. So much for people telling me they don't mess where they sleep. Uh, ya they do, at least mine does. No the kennel is not too big, it is the size for a toy breed which he is.

Some of you are probably sayi... Sat, 19 Mar 2011 13:58:09 EST Working and Housebreaking a Puppy Well tonight is the first time I have to actually leave my puppy alone. I have to go to work. It is only a 4hr shift, but the last time I left him alone in his crate, and only for 45 minutes, I came home to a mess. Oh what a mess. Ya, I know, I bought the crate a little too big, but it was such a great deal. I bought it at Walmart and no I cannot return it, cause I bought it in Ohio and I am back in Ontario now. I was thinking ahead and wanting to buy a crate that he could use when he was... Thu, 10 Mar 2011 10:27:00 EST Weigh-In Shocked!!!! I am totally gobsmacked, hehehe, I like that word, that I have in fact lost 2lbs last week. I made a conscious effort to keep on track with my eating, opting to have cereal and a banana rather than something at a restaurant for breakfast when we all went out to eat. I only had a coffee. I am totally proud of myself. My two grandsons, myself and daughter-in-law went out for lunch at Gold Star Chili and all I had was a salad (do dressing). Those are the only two times we went ... Wed, 9 Mar 2011 11:11:15 EST A New Walking Buddy I am soooo exicited. I have a walking buddy and he goes by the name of PEPPER Boucher. He is an early Birthday present from my hubby. He is a 12 week old Coton de Tulear puppy. He is all white, nonallergetic and doesn't shed. He is absolutely perfect for me. We have already both gone out for our first walk together since coming home and unfortunately I had to carry him inside my coat for the last half of our walk due to him being cold and shivering. You know what this means, a new coat ... Sun, 27 Feb 2011 13:46:49 EST Day 4 - I feel GREAT Well this is Day 4 of the BC Challenge and my Special K Challenge. To be honest, I never thought I would make it till now, since I always seem to quit for one reason or another after Day 3. I seems that is about the time that I throw into the towel. Well, surprise, surprise, I am on Day 4, feeling GREAT and still motivated to keep going.

This is Day 2 of my jogging on the Treadmill, and it went great. I upped the speed to 6.0 m/hr but other than that, it is going great. No tw... Sat, 26 Feb 2011 13:14:47 EST Day 3 Today is Day 3 of the 28 day Bootcamp Challenge and the video is done. I also did my 35 minutes on the Treadmill, but this time I did not jog. I thought I would take everyone's advice (thank you by the way everyone) and just walk to day giving my knees somewhat of a rest. I woke up and my knees were just fine, but, during my walking on the Treadmill it started to mildly ache, nothing major, not like last time, but actually compared to last times, it is hardly aching at all, so I am glad I to... Fri, 25 Feb 2011 11:26:18 EST Exciting News - WooHoo This is the best day so far. My exciting news is that I actually jogged on my Treadmill. I have been wanting and trying to take up jogging, but everytime I tried I would end up straining, pulling or tearing something in the back of my knees and being laid up for days on end with an icepack everyday.

I started off walking on my Treadmill at 5.0 for 10 minutes then upped it to 5.5 and started to lightly jog for 1 minute, taking it very very easy, then continued to walk for the last 4... Thu, 24 Feb 2011 12:08:48 EST 1st Day is the 1st day of the rest of my life. I have finally done it. I have ballooned up to 186lbs. Disgusting. How could I have let myself go like this. There is no excuse and beating myself up about it, is useless. What I need is action and NOW.
I am tired of being out of breath most of the time and my fingers being so puffy. This has got to stop.
I feel I need to kick-start myself into a program that will give me some incentive to continue. Nothing I have been doing r... Wed, 23 Feb 2011 10:20:52 EST House Cleaning & Decorating I did it, and I am sooo excited. I have been looking at a certain style of curtains in the Sears Catalogue for like ever, but were always too expensive to buy. Well I did it, I bought those curtains, and you know what, they look absolutely fantastic. I love the feeling they give to my livingroom and diningroom. It makes my home feel more comforting and homey feeling. Before I had wooden white blinds up because they came with the house and it felt almost like I was still moving in, so sta... Sun, 13 Feb 2011 07:52:06 EST Yes, Still alive and Kicking I haven't wrote a blog for awhile now. I just had nothing particularly interesting to say. Have I lost any weight? Yes and No. I lose then I gain, so I just don't post until I have something exciting to show.

My weight is a roller coaster. I lost 4lbs last week, but then I have gained back 2. The motivation went out the window, my heart and mind just wasn't where it should have been. I will always be there for another person, to encourage them, to be there in their corner, but for me, not so much. I am not sure what is wrong with me or how to fix it. I really want to lose the weight I have put on, but when it comes to the nighttime, my motivation just goes. I have tried talking myself out of munching, but my stomach growls, and gro...
