Mon, 21 Oct 2013 16:14:00 EST still tired tree shopping took a lot out of me Sun, 20 Oct 2013 20:49:25 EST Tree shopping Well, we knew we really wanted a red oak. But we kept being told a texas red oak, but we learned today that a shumard red oak does better here in north texas.
Bought 2 trees today and we had a budget of $1000
We got a 95 gal for the front yard which will shadt the house in a few years, and we bought a 45 gal for the backyard which will be shade for when we BBQ.
and we only spent $900

378 Sat, 19 Oct 2013 20:35:34 EST Statewide meeting Well, it went well. I had 2 representatives here and we talked for half an hour. I showed them the problems and we talked about all the extra time this took.
It isn't Statewide Remodeling policy to give compensation - they want to fix the problems but I told them that at this point I have lost confidence in Statewide.
In the end I did get some compensation and they left my warranty in place.
All in all we are satisfied - I feel they could have done better but it was never ab... Fri, 18 Oct 2013 08:53:53 EST Sleep seminar The speaker told us different ways to help you fall asleep and stay asleep. most of what she said I already knew like stable bed times and getting up in the morning, stimulation like tv, etc...
But what I didn't know was drinking milk at bedtime is a myth. The protein will... Thu, 17 Oct 2013 11:24:26 EST sleep seminar 246 We went to a sleep seminar last night. They had a pretty catchy title - "Youur Speaker will Put You To Sleep!!" Wed, 16 Oct 2013 09:57:46 EST trees Still don't know which trees we will go with but a farm is having a fall festival this weekend and I think we will go and try to take advantage of sales. they also are having a drawing to give a 45 gal tree away - hope we win - that would save a bundle of $$$$$ Tue, 15 Oct 2013 09:39:57 EST which red oak I didn't know their were different varieties - I am down to a texas red oak or a shumard red red Fri, 11 Oct 2013 08:54:21 EST TIMBER!!!! Two trees that I dearly loved when we bought this houuse 2 1/2 years ago are getting cut down. They both suffered the drought of 2011 - when the house was on the market the trees/lawn probably was not being watered. A month after buying the house we lost the tree in the backyard. We hired a company to trim the front yard tree. I saw how much they were trimming and panicked. I called the home office and they assured me that the crew knew what they were doing.
Well, they didn't. The ... Tue, 8 Oct 2013 08:42:42 EST Sodium Soap box Sorry, I am on a sodium soap box today. I just don't understand WHY restaurants add so much salt to their food. I know they want you to order drinks but usually they are free refills anyway so that doesn't really explain it either.
The salad I ate at Olive Garden was only 150 calories but it was nearly 800 mg in sodium !!!! I mean that is nearly half of my days allowance and all I had was a salad. I could have made the same salad at home for fewer calories and WAY LESS sodium mainly ... Thu, 3 Oct 2013 10:28:36 EST Stress test today I have only ever had the I.V. type but today the cardiologist will put me on the treadmill.
My heart rate is too low for her liking and while she does attribute that to my fitness she also says that if my heart rate doesn't climb to "the range" then I will need a pacemaker.
I will know today Wed, 2 Oct 2013 08:27:07 EST mowed It is such a great workout Mon, 30 Sep 2013 11:39:17 EST weekend went to fast RATS Sun, 29 Sep 2013 17:32:59 EST IT'S RAINING YIPPEE Sat, 28 Sep 2013 15:43:20 EST bathroom remodel I was told to set aside the whole day for the work yesterday - it took 90 minutes!!!!
It looks real nice. now all I gotta do is sign off this work order and we can call it DONE Fri, 27 Sep 2013 08:44:14 EST working out again now that I can move without my back hurting I am working out again - feeling sore never felt so good.

On another note: My DH is putting in his first full day at work since hip replacement - He is doing great and expects to stop using the cane at his next appointment (Monday).

My bathroom counter is suppose to get replaced today - FINALLY!!!! I mean a really long time. I have been tempted to just stop at Sonic or some place "easy" and satisfy that craving - then I think of all the added calories and sodium I would consume because that is the nature of eating out.
I picked up the ingredients last time I went grocery shopping and satisfied that craving at lunch today!!!
YUMMY 4 Mon, 16 Sep 2013 15:46:56 EST yard sale was a bust I didn't get anything. DD got some pillows and a clock that doesn't work but it has a real pretty picture in the background. We hope we can fix the clock.

We did stop at another yard sale on the way home and I found a stringless electric trimmer for only $5 and they let me test it. this will be great!!!

On a sour note, DH got up in the middle of the night and dropped something on the floor. I really wasn't anxious to have DH go back to work but we also didn't expect a delay.
The hotshot at work even thought it could be Monday before retuning to work - I squashed that right away. I told them that the physical therepist wants him to start on a Thursday or Friday so if he doesn't start now you will have to have him start at the end of next week. I think that helped put him back in his place, it is one thing to delay a person from coming back to work one day bu...
