MYAKAYAH's SparkPeople Blog MYAKAYAH's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Its Friday, be well my friends! I'm listening to Etta James right now which is good because I erased my blog entry somehow lol. I give up, I'm going to type my entries in Word and cut and paste them over here from now on so I don't inadvertently erase some mind blowing words lol!

Okay so I took a few days off from blogging basically. I was too tired last night because I had a mad busy day. I had errands, cooking, cleaning, writing out a few more Christmas Cards, taking my Mom to the dentist, going to the store, p... Fri, 19 Dec 2014 06:48:53 EST Spark Article=55 Things the Scale Doesn't Tell You ~Melinda Hershey wrote this for The Spark Blog back on 17th of March 2014!

(It's not the full article but a good portion of it. I thought it would be a handy reference guide for this time of year because a lot of people have issues with weight loss and those of us who are maintaining our goal weights!)

We've all been sucked into the scale's siren song from time to time—and it makes sense why. The scale is appealing because it shows an instant, tangible metric of how you... Tue, 16 Dec 2014 10:33:20 EST Monday's Good Morning! It's all about the attitude seriously! Even if things are going badly around you, choose to be happy is how I look at it! Anyhow, I am sitting here at my desk and it looks like it will be sunny out today despite looking a bit cloudy.

I need to do a load or two of laundry today and clean my bathroom. I was looking through my jewelry earlier and I am going to gift some pieces this upcoming year and for Christmas to my nieces if they come down. If not their birthdays are in February ... Mon, 15 Dec 2014 10:33:22 EST Weekend Update! Okay, first thing I thought of when I woke was has Betty White and Doris Roberts ever worked together? Those two would be funny times together I think. See where my mind goes when I am waking up. The other night I watched The Red Tent on Lifetime. I watched both parts, loved it. I was thinking with the females clothes I would love to wear that lol. Mostly long shifts and robes with ropes used as belts or decoration. I know its 2015 just about but a lot of fashion through time makes me think t... Sun, 14 Dec 2014 10:18:59 EST no rain yet but cloudy! We need the rain since they are going to dig further down to get more water out of the ground here, and charge us more of course. Its how it goes with water. We have awesomely low water bills, not sure how much the bill will go up but I try to conserve water as much as I can and take shorter showers. I'm almost at military showers just about. The smart thing about it is that in winter you should take shorter showers so your skin doesn't rebel too much!

Anyhow, my parents were out a... Fri, 12 Dec 2014 01:37:32 EST No title! More rain coming looks like~ Hello my friends! I'm sitting up here in my office looking down the street and many people have Christmas Lights up and some keep them on all night which is fun. Looks like more rain is coming in over this weekend which is necessary for our drought stricken state. I think we are in for water rationing in the next few years. I am used to it from growing up in California! Maybe I should move back up to Washington or over to Louisiana lol. I hate rationing times but Nevada doesn't get their fair... Thu, 11 Dec 2014 00:55:19 EST A shorty I slightly went over my calories tonight, it was pizza night. I had salad to go with it so all wasn't lost lol! I went over by 100 calories and I haven't gone over in forever so its not too bad of a mess up.

I grated cheese today, wrote out Christmas cards, did housework, played with the cat and his new toys which enthralled him for a spell. Off to do bourbon balls tomorrow and then I shall be caught up.

Pace, Pace yourself definitely! I have wrapped all the presents so ... Tue, 9 Dec 2014 02:59:28 EST Saturday Night, A Date you say? Correct, the SO (Paolo) decided since the 2 young ones were AWOL we should and could go out on a date. He made a reservation and he said let's look pretty for one another. He wore a dark brown suit and so I wore a deep red velvet dress with very low heels!

Once a month or so we go on a serious date outing, we remember we are two individuals and not just a parent, cook, travel agent you get the drill! We don't talk about the 2 young ones, parents, siblings. We chat about ourselves ... Mon, 8 Dec 2014 02:53:32 EST Friday Night Funnies or NOT! The weather is better and we had sun today, we needed a few days of rain and all that it brought with it! I checked the weather and it looks like the mid-60's this week and at night getting down in the 50's-40's depending so it won't feel too frigid more than likely which I can appreciate. My bones hurt a little when the air is frigid.

Yesterday I looked at my calories and I barely made 1200 which was fairly odd because I am usually in the 1500-1600 range most days! I didn't overb... Sat, 6 Dec 2014 00:22:55 EST Did my hair today~ Finished up shopping since I had coupons and saved a bunch of money so that was nice. I bought a Chi flat iron where I do my hair since it was on reduction for $59! I had a flat iron but it wasn't a Chi and never really got hot enough to keep my hair properly so that was a very good idea and the lil one can use it as well for her tresses every so often.

It still feels cold and damp outside so the exercise is indoors. I barely watched football tonight, Dallas and Chicago don't motiv... Fri, 5 Dec 2014 00:22:26 EST Its a bit rainy still so I didn't go out so much today! I slept fairly decent but round noon I was up until 230 so I needed a nap until 4pm. I woke up and everyone was home. We had gumbo for dinner about 515pm which was nice.

My mom is making me a powder blue hat to match the uber long scarf my Aunt made me last month. I don't think she is making a Quillow, blanket, purse or much of anything for this Christmas which may be good. I can tell in certain ways she is getting a little worse in terms of the Pa... Thu, 4 Dec 2014 02:47:14 EST Its Raining Today & tonight! Which is a very good thing since we pray for rain here lol! Its pretty much been steady all day just about from what I've heard!

So I am doing two loads of laundry right now and just cleaned most of the bathroom, ate dinner and did the dishes, vacuumed, dusted, made iced coffee and tea for the pitchers, fed and watered the cat, brushed him and made sure his box was clean and fresh. I had to readjust the Christmas tree a little, did the mail shred, cleaned out the fridge which means... I started yesterday but today I was off since it was football, cooking, housework, shopping and handling business!

My mom made split pea soup and I'm not eating it, I despise the taste honestly. My Aunt is here and I came to my room to escape. I love her but she talks constantly and with all the noise today I am short on patience and more noise. From the moment I woke up until I escaped here it was do this, or do that! No offense but my Aunt can be annoying sometimes. We all can but she'll be out until after New Years. A good long time to miss her!

Had pizza and salad for dinner and my mom is one of those last minute cooks so she rushes around and makes more dishes than on... Wed, 19 Nov 2014 23:57:42 EST Hey ya'll its freekin cold here in Sin City! I think last night we were in the high 30's, it feels frigid, makes me think I'm back in Seattle but not because I have sun in the day! Its cold during the day as well, even my cat says I don't want to be outside as much till this is over!

I was looking at pictures of Lauren Bacall's apartment earlier on Yahoo. Tue, 11 Nov 2014 20:13:40 EST Various ideas~ Just scrolling through my Twitter Feed. I come across a Microsoft Fitness Product called the Band. So I click on the link and it looks like a FitBit Flex maybe. No information, they want you to go to the store to check it out. BAD MICROSOFT! No info, no buy it lol. Sat, 8 Nov 2014 02:28:02 EST Hello Wednesday Last night I had a coffee on the overnight, bad idea. I think I had a lot of caffeine in that coffee. Melitta Colombian Supreme which was a medium blend. I use the pour over method so I may have zapped myself pretty good. Anyhow, I had about 4-5 hours of sleep very bad for me. I need a nap.

Glad sports are calming down for me even if I do love my football. The Bengals and Browns have tomorrow night's game. I am not happy the Broncos lost because its our second of the season and its week 9, gotta get better! I don't care for the Cowboys or Chargers so I don't care there lol.

Okay, so since yesterday it has been cold and windy. No rain on the horizon it looks like. Mon, 3 Nov 2014 00:58:21 EST Happy Saturday In regards to Nevada Day yesterday:
Nevada made it a celebration of Statehood apparently because Lincoln signed the state into the Union in 1864! So its a state holiday the last Friday of October every year, it just happened to fall on Halloween this year. 150 years and it falls on Halloween which is a fun thing.

I didn't explain the voting process properly it seemed because it sounded like you needed a credit card to vote. The weather is supposed to be much cooler for a bit but 50's-40's isn't major. I did my (bedding) laundry yesterday and put away the cooler sheets and broke out the fleece on the bed so I am warmer so I don't have to run the heat except for quite low. I have some housework to do today. One more load of laundry, bathroom, vacuuming and things of that nature. I have already taken care of the dishes and some minor things. Paolo is at work but the 2 young ones ar... Fri, 31 Oct 2014 12:28:15 EST Giants win it all! November challenge & goals~ Let's see tomorrow I am going to vote before my hair appointment and both of those things will be taken care with. I will be glad when its November 5th because no more visits to my house from the candidates to try and sway me to their side. I must tell you no other place I have visited has made me feel so appreciated in regards to my vote lol. (I meant that sarcastically because at least 5 or 6 candidates, their staff have visited me constantly in the past month or so. ENOUGH.)

Any... Thu, 30 Oct 2014 01:15:51 EST Sister called earlier & they are driving from California to here and tomorrow they will drive onto Denver to begin a new life there. They have friends there so a transition is easier that way. Denver is less expensive than Southern California so that is a good thing.

Watched a little of The Dallas Redskins game, boring to me lol. I can't stand Romo or Jerry Jones, I don't really know how Dallas is 6-2 honestly. However, a lot of other teams you just don't know who is going to show up at any given week. Well, except for ma... Tue, 28 Oct 2014 00:49:25 EST Hey, sports nation! I watched LSU/Mississippi St. for a little bit, what a pathetic game. Awful, even if they did win by a hair (LSU). Miss St. should be ashamed as well, I mean you were going to kick it and tie it up to go to OT. Geez...In better news UCLA won it in double OT.

Well the Giants won 11-4 after being down 4-1. Things improved after Bochy lifted Vogelsong. Our middle reliever took it to the Royals, and we bombed their middle relievers, nothing could stop the Giants players from capitalizi... Sun, 26 Oct 2014 04:33:54 EST still feel funky, of course I do! I don't know what this creepy crud is but I'll be glad when it goes away! I think its staying at bay because I have hot tea, orange juice and other liquids like its going out of style. I'm definitely not hungry much but I have breakfast and dinner so I'm alright.

Giants lost so they need to get on the ball and win 2 of 3 in Frisco so they can win it in 6 back in KC. I watched my Blue Bloods and that was a highlight of the day since I feel so crappy, cranky and gross. I am thankful ... Sat, 25 Oct 2014 02:16:37 EST Broncos won~ its really all I cared to watch today, I almost fell asleep a few times.

I'm not gonna lie I feel like hell a little more today. Been drinking a lot, hot tea, cold tea, water, orange juice. I feel like when I am ill my appetite increases a little. I don't get that but I stayed in range. Fri, 24 Oct 2014 02:43:34 EST Figured I'd start the blog for the day... I'm feeling kind of chatty about tea. I made an order for Republic of Tea since it had been a year since I had done one. It's worth it to me to get a more expensive tea since it tastes better than the cheap stuff you get at most regular markets which I don't care for! None of us do really here so I just make the order once a year!

Now, I get my red tea from the old Asian Market where I used to live in LA so that makes me very happy. I could drink that tea exclusively and be happy w... Wed, 22 Oct 2014 07:13:07 EST With the tired I know my problem! Guess who is having the flu, lol! All my aches, pains, tired it was because of that. I am fighting it off but the tired is remaining. I don't feel very nasty sick except for the very tired and body aches. I have no energy though, none lol! I've slept well and if I was okay I would be right on target with my exercise and all of that but until this goes away, I'll be taking a pass on trying to do anything but get up and walk around the house! Maybe try stretching and yoga as well but the ellipt... Wed, 22 Oct 2014 02:06:36 EST I feel so tired tonight! Maybe TOM is trying to come along, I don't know. I have zero energy to do squat so I am resting and trying not to be annoyed lol.

I changed my hair appointment to next week from this Thursday because it just doesn't need colour yet. I could probably go to the first week of November honestly but I'll do it on the 30th instead. I really don't like calling the hair salon because something that should take maybe 5 minutes turns into waiting for 15 to change an appointment so annoying. ... Mon, 20 Oct 2014 23:37:24 EST I gave myself luck with Bronco Orange! The Broncos won more than handily tonight and I took a rest day from walking. Which I do on Sundays and one other day in the week. Still managed 5,000 steps though!

I made my own dinner since everyone else was having pork, beef and veal, just no! I had vegetarian pasta, a salad, sugar free tea and an apple cut up since I can't bite into an apple. In my teenage years I had braces and since then I have to cut up most fruit.

I thought I was getting the TOM but maybe not, we... Mon, 20 Oct 2014 02:08:33 EST Ok, Saturday night 10pm What's going on with the world? I watched the end of the Notre Dame game and for Pete's sake ND, you would of won the game, jeebus! It's not even worth discussing so Florida St. won by a hair down in Tallahassee.

I just came in from my walk when I saw the last few minutes of that game but earlier I was flipping the channels and that Showtime show "The Affair" came on and against my better judgment I watched the first episode. Sun, 19 Oct 2014 01:20:13 EST Watched Blue Bloods & had my walk tonight~ Just finished watching my show, its the only program I watch in real time, everything else I DVR and speed through the commercials to save time off my day. I'm glad baseball is over until Tuesday honestly but I've been replaying the Travis Ishikawa homer from last night. Jake Peavy you nut if you screwed up we may have had issues lol. He was excited I get it but don't interfere with Travis getting round the bases!

I have figured out that if I get in 3500 steps before I go for my d... Sat, 18 Oct 2014 02:35:58 EST Pretty good day So we have the Giants and The Royals in the World Series! It will be interesting to see who wins in low scoring games. The Cardinals beat themselves in this series honestly and The Giants capitalised when they did. How cool would it be to be in your 2nd or 3rd World Series already and you are still a young player like Hunter Pence and Buster Posey are. San Francisco has a great organization top to bottom. So defense and pitching wins games here. We're starting in KC next week so be ready Gia... Thu, 16 Oct 2014 23:45:37 EST A real quick one lol~ I almost made 10K yet again, the Universe is conspiring against me so I can't get over 10K for a few days! I've been quite close though so there is that. I've been doing other exercise as well so maybe that is a good balance.

The Royals swept the Orioles so they are in the World Series. The Cardinals have made key errors against the Giants and you just can't do that against a Bruce Bochy led team they'll make you pay!

The weather is warm in the day much cooler at night ... Thu, 16 Oct 2014 02:58:33 EST "I'm not apologising for being human anymore." I wrote that on my status this morning and I was going to blog on it but I was tired from my work so I tabled it for now!
