I am down 6 pounds and I lost 9 inches all over. This program has taught me about portion control and eating clean healthy foods. The workouts were challenging without being overwhelming. I definitely will be sticking with this program. Also, I did the program without using the shakeology shakes. I just have been eating better and working out. Mon, 6 Apr 2015 01:02:06 EST Road I.D. App for iPhone I just discovered the app for iPhone users called Road ID. It is useful for runners to allow them to alert family members in case of emergency, but it is also a great app for anyone with an iPhone. I always keep a pass code lock on my phone, so unless someone knows my pass code my phone contacts cannot be accessed in an emergency. Now with this app, I was able to create a lock screen that displays emergency contact info for up to 3 people to notify. It is also a free app!i plan to add this to... Wed, 24 Jul 2013 15:31:30 EST C25K program I have completed this program once before and I know it really works. I am using an app on my phone called Ease into 5k that I like. Before, I only ran on my treadmill which is better than nothing, but always running on my treadmill put me at a disadvantage when it came time to run outside in an actual event. This time I am starting over and I am doing all my "runs" outside. I am currently on week 3 day2. So far so good. Last week, I was visiting my family back in MS and I did all of week 2's... Sun, 21 Jul 2013 01:51:40 EST Experimenting with Juicing Last night I bought a NutriBullet using gift cards I received from Christmas. I have seen the commercials on TV and I have been reading online about the benefits of juicing. I have issues with my stomach and I have decided I am tired of suffering. Something has to change. Not to mention, I am feeling very miserable and swollen. My energy level is nonexistent also. I am hoping to incorporate more fruits and vegetables to my diet and hopefully in turn this will help my stomach issues and give m... Sat, 16 Feb 2013 04:44:46 EST Another 5K I have taken the plunge and signed up for another 5K. I stopped running a few months ago so I will be starting all over again. It is hard for me to get motivated lately. I don't know if it is the weather we have been having this month or if nightshift is taking its toil or most likely a combination of both. I stay very tired lately. Hopefully, I can get motivated to get off my behind and start training. I know once I finally get back into the habit I will feel much better. Wed, 30 Jan 2013 03:10:58 EST Me, a runner??? Several months back, I started the C25K program. I had attempted it several times in the past, but I could never get past week 2 or 3 at the most. My friend/coworker also started the program and she encouraged me to sign up for the Color Run 5K. This sounded like fun to me, so I did sign up. That was the best thing I could have ever done because this gave me an actual goal to work towards. It also helped that I had someone going through it with me. The day of the race was this past Labor Day.... Mon, 17 Sep 2012 15:27:31 EST Trying to get back focused on my family and fitness I have been working a lot of overtime lately and my diet and exercise, not to mention my family, have been pushed to the back burner. I didn't realize just how bad it was until I actually had a night off last week and I was relaxing on the couch and I got my little girl to come lay down beside me. It hit me that I had only hugged her as I was heading out the door to work every evening. That was sad. I just had 4 days off in a row and it was nice to recharge and spend time with my family. I al... Wed, 9 May 2012 17:56:29 EST Here I Go... I discovered and joined this site several days ago, but I am just now getting around to posting anything. I just finished working a run of 4 twelve hour night shifts in a row and I am feeling sluggish and tired. I have not felt like doing any form of exercise. Prior to working this past weekend, I was succeeding in walking almost every day for the past 2 weeks. I have managed to even lose a couple of pounds. My struggle is trying to get motivated to workout and to eat healthy at night when I ... Tue, 3 Apr 2012 18:52:05 EST
