Sat, 4 Jan 2014 13:35:39 EST Thank you letter I just sent a good friend of mine this letter on FB, thanking her for talking with me about her weight loss journey. She worked 35 lbs off her small frame, but it took her a while.
___________________________________-

Hey K

I just wanted to reiterate how pleased I am that we chatted about your weight loss. It's helping me a TON to know that you lost 35 lbs in 18 months - which is actually just 2 lbs a month or a half pound a week. Persepctive is awesome.

... Mon, 24 Sep 2012 20:54:07 EST Sunday dinner overboard, but that's ok. I made some of my favorite things for dinner tonight. Spaghetti and garlic rolls. I weighed myself BEFORE dinner, deciding that Sunday afternoon is a better place for me to weigh in than Monday morning. I'd lost 3 lbs my second week (woo!) so I decided to eat the spaghetti dinner and enjoy myself.

So, yeah, I went overboard.

However... I ate my salad first, and my mixed veggies. When I made the garlic rolls, I substituted wheat flour for about a third of the flour. I did... Sun, 15 Jan 2012 22:40:52 EST Feeling a difference already I'm proud to say that I now have 6 small rocks lined up on my windowsill in the kitchen. I got back from workout number 6 tired, but feeling peppy (can you have both of those things at the same time? I can!)

I've gone to a new, farther park for the past 2 days that's more 'hilly'. With 20-odd pound baby on my back, it makes for a more intense walk. Too bad it was so cold! Did 35 instead of 45 minutes just so I could get the baby back into the car. Even bundled the poor girl had ic... Thu, 12 Jan 2012 13:28:50 EST This feels different It really does. It feels different this time.

I saw a picture taken in the Spark offices the other day that said Moderation Not Deprivation and it really struck home. Normally when I try to change how I eat, I'm just stuck in that same DIET mentality that I seem to always get stuck in. I become afraid of food and don't eat for fear I'll go over my calories. This time I'm doing things differently.

I'm eating more often, and just when I'm hungry. Twice in the past two we... Tue, 10 Jan 2012 16:36:28 EST Baptism by sprinkler. Day one of the re-started exercise routine. I was lucky enough to have my husband at home today to watch the kiddos while I took off for 30 minutes.

I forgot how much I LOVE to be outside and stretch my legs.

I walked to the local park (5 minutes) and then walked the loop, down a hill to the kids' playground area. I took advantage of the good sized grassy hill and would walk up the hill, down the hill and then climb one of the 4 ladders on the playground equipment. It w... Mon, 2 Jan 2012 15:31:47 EST Starting again, starting again, starting again. Having a baby at 40 was a wonderful experience, but the weight just didn't come off this time like it had before. Now at 41 - and just this past week - I hit the "obese" line for the first time in my life. I've always been round or curvy or whatnot, but now I'm just heavy. I can see it.

Sparkpeople worked for me before, but after the baby I took advantage of nursing and this time my metabolism just didn't work the same. I have to make some serious changes.

I've always fe... Sun, 1 Jan 2012 23:06:21 EST A gift from my husband and a new spark at home. Last night my husband drug me into the local sporting goods store and picked out some weight lifting gloves for me (pink!) and some 8 lb weights so that I won't get more calluses and can work on my arms at night while watching TV (which I've been complaining about). Do I have a fabulous husband or what? I mean, being married to someone who is A. Supportive B. Listens and C. purchases things for me that will help me attain my goals of being fit and healthy. How cool is that?

Maybe ... Tue, 21 Jul 2009 17:53:47 EST
