Oh ya, last year!
1 Year ago after new years I was in the worst health of my life, at 425lbs and 21 years old I was a ticking time my first year of the 'new me' I think I have made tremendous strides....I have of course had my ups and downs and have been on and off the wagon a few times, but I can look back and say 1 year later I have definitely changed for the better.

With the new year comes a re... Mon, 4 Jan 2010 17:15:41 EST My Reason for Being HERE I've put a lot of thought into this the last couple of days and I really need to reconfirm my reason for using Spark. I started using these resources in January as a way to educate myself, track my progress and find support. I fell in love with this site and built a lot of strong friendships. Unfortunetly most of my friends and support have stopped using this sight and dissappeared.

I am here to help me on my journey that I need to take. I like to help others along the way, but... Sun, 15 Nov 2009 21:55:12 EST My passion!! I got up at 7 on my own, made a healthy deliecous breakfast of fruit, omelette, yogart and oj. Plugged away at homework from about 8:30-noon. Got TONS done. Today is end Week 20.

In 20 weeks I have lost 81.6lbs or 19.20% of my original body weight.
My goal for the first 20 weeks was to lose 20%/85lbs, which I fell just short of.
I am still working towards my 100lbs lost goal by my birthday which is June 27th.
However that is another 18.4lbs to go in just 5.5 weeks.
May not be quite doable, but I am going to try my best and if I only reach 95lbs by my birthday thats still 95lbs done.

I have noticed my weig... Tue, 19 May 2009 11:37:14 EST Staying Committed... This blog is more of an affirmination needed for myself than anything, and something I can look back on when I need to.

Lately I have been having one of those 'blah' days for the last several days. I've been sticking to my workout routine and eating right, but my weight loss has been really starting to slow--to like around 2lbs a week and I am just starting to get bummed that I am not going to meet my goals by the dates I have set out.

I don't want to go back on my goal... Wed, 6 May 2009 23:38:31 EST Another milestone! I broke the 350lbs mark this week!!!
I am now *officially* fat enough to be able to use the machines at the gym!
All these warning signs about maximum capacity being 350lbs, and only allowing that to be imputed as the maximum weight, etc. BUT, I had asked the staff and my trainer at the beginning which machines were okay to use for someone of my weight, etc.
BUT now when it said enter weight I proudly entered 348 today!

Also, I could use the 'normal' scale at the gy... Mon, 27 Apr 2009 12:24:45 EST I'm a Motivator!!!! WOW!!!! All I can say is THANK YOU to everyone who voted for me as a motivator.

Less then 4 m onths ago I was a 21 year old kid who was living like an 80 year old person on their death bed. I was constantly miserable, unhappy, mean and to be honest scared. I know that if I had not changed my life I would have been dead before I turned 30-that is scary to say, but so true. The abuse I was putting my body through was terrible, and I know that it wouldn't be able to hold out much ... Sat, 25 Apr 2009 17:24:41 EST Happy to go shopping! Okay, so I'm a guy, and I'm fat, shopping equaled NOT my thing!!! lol!!!!
As long as I could remember probably from the age of 16-19, 16 is when I first started gaining weight, I could wear a mens XL for shirts/sweaters, and about a 36/38 inch for pants, which is the highest size 'normal' stores have for mens clothing.

Okay, so here's the embarassing part, I dreaded shopping , actually avoided it at all costs. When i turned 19, almost 3 years ago now, (actually about during 1... Wed, 22 Apr 2009 12:46:29 EST Double Digits! Last Monday I wrote about making mistakes, admitting them and working to fix them. I had lost almost nothing last week becuase I overindulged and missed my workouts. This week I definetly made up for last week! I lost 10.8lbs this week! My first EVER double digit weight loss for a week. I know that I was a bit bloated last week and probably retaining water weight, but a total of 11.4lbs over 2 weeks, is still not bad, or 15.8lbs over 3 weeks if you take it back that far, or 71.0lbs in 15 ... Mon, 13 Apr 2009 12:54:55 EST My Heaviest Pics After seeing some friends posting their heaviest pics I decided it was time to open those email attachments I have avoided and look at some still can't believe I was this big.
I have some pics from a family function in November and over christmas in December and wow.....comparing them to Christmas 2007 I had gained A LOT of weight in 1 year! Seriously probably the last 80lbs were gained in 1 year.

Anyways I was posting these as I have another dilemma to fac... Wed, 8 Apr 2009 22:58:36 EST Admitting mistakes and working to fix them.... I had a rough, rough weekend and friday/saturday/sunday I stressed and reverted back to old habits rather quickly.
Don't get me wrong, I am not at all proud of this mistake, but I'm admitting it to figure out why it happened and how I can prevent this from happening again.
This is the first time I missed going to the gym 3 days in a row! The most I ever took off was 1 day/week, but this weekend I just ate, and ate and stressed and took pity on myself.
First things first, the p... Mon, 6 Apr 2009 15:23:09 EST Pushing through the last 3 weeks of my university career! In just 3 weeks I will have my 4 year BSc honor degree! Hard to believe! Come April 14th I will be FREE until Sept 7th! That gives me nearly 5 months of ME time! Then I will be doing a 1 year teachers college program which is a whole other story with stress/work etc, but not to worry I have tons of time before then.

To start off, I actually can't believe I'm graduating, like seriously it feels like yesterday that I was getting dropped off. I have to say part of me wishes it was... Sun, 22 Mar 2009 22:27:29 EST Goal 2 Reached 2. Lose 10% BW (42.5lbs)-382.5lbs
Goal: 03/02/2009
Reached: 03/02/2009

Today was the end of Week 8, officially 2 months in and I weighed in at 376.8lbs! Down 9.8lbs from last week! Turns out my sparkfriends were correct....(I love sparkfriends!)....that my body was holding onto water weight the week prior where I only lost 2.2lbs. This makes an even 12lbs in the past 2 weeks, which is so motivational to keep going.

I'm officially down 48.2lbs in just 8 week... Mon, 2 Mar 2009 23:30:39 EST A Disappointing Result SW: 425lbs
End Week 6 Weigh IN: 388.8lbs
End Week 7 Weigh IN: 386.6lbs
Loss: 2.2lbs

Let me start by saying, I know 2.2lbs is a loss, and something that some people are very happy with, but for me it was a huge disappointment and my first real ‘failure’ since New Years.

As many of you know this past week was my Spring Break, or as I had dubbed it my Spring Break Shape-Up Challenge. I spent 3-4 hours a day at the gym, plus I ate the best I have done so far ... Mon, 23 Feb 2009 23:45:56 EST Goal 1 Reached 1. Lose 25lbs-400lbs
Goal: 2009/02/02
Reached: 2009/02/02

Today was the end of Week 4, officially 1 month in and I was down to 398.2lbs, down over 25lbs in the first month. I can't say that I see a great deal of change in my appearance yet, except I do see it in my face a bit, but my energy levels have been through the roof and exercise has now become routine. The first 2 weeks were hard with always being hungry, sore and tired. Now I don't mind going to the gym, I ...
