I had a bad toothache that had me in tears on a daily basis. I finally had that tooth pulled August 2. Then the jaw on the other side of my mouth began hurting. So pain has been my constant companion lately. The only foods that didn't leave me in tears were things like soup, bread, cheese...my diet went downhill.

Now I my mouth is healed where I had the tooth pulled, my jaw is pain-free. (It was a sinus infection!) I am finally physically feeling bet... Wed, 22 Aug 2012 22:59:59 EST The Right Track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4938007 So guess who is heading back down the healthy track? Me! I've successfully cut back all my portions again, cut out some snacking and am exercising again! I've not been doing terribly well about tracking my food on Sparkpeople, but I am doing better. I was eating 2-3 protein bars a day (Because they are now my favorite food!) but I'm down to one a day, for breakfast only. I was eating 2 sandwiches for lunch, I'm down to one. In the last 2 days alone I've cut in half what I eat at dinner. And I... Fri, 22 Jun 2012 17:21:58 EST So Where Has My Energy Been? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4927104 I have seriously been drained. That cold a few weeks back zapped everything I had. Before I got sick I had been outside EVERY day, working out 5 to 6 days a week. After the cold, I could barely muster the energy to get out of bed...

My scale is still hovering between 189-193 pounds. Which is not un-expected. My measurements are sucking though. For the first time since I started my measurements are heading the other way!

Well yesterday I felt a little peppier. Today I fe... Fri, 15 Jun 2012 00:08:28 EST Zapped http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4918847 Hi guys! It's been awhile. Life has been good, my energy has not...

Ever since I had that sinus infection/cold a few weeks ago I have had ZERO energy. I just feel like laying around or sleeping all the time. It takes all I have just to clean house or do a little laundry. I'm thinking part of the problem is my diet. (Or lack of a diet perhaps?!) I've not been eating very well. I keep saying "Tomorrow I will eat better and track my food," but that is what got me to 205 pounds to begi... Sat, 9 Jun 2012 11:42:03 EST 29 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4893878 Well today is my 29th birthday! I've had a great one too. Lots of love, gifts and cake!
I received some wonderful presents; workout clothes and a new scale to name a couple! My old scale was about 5 years old. It would give you a different weight depending on the mood it was in! 211 My new one measures weight, body fat, bone something and hydration. Plus it is supposed to be fairly accurate. It gave me a higher weight than my old one, so maybe this new scale will help keep me mo... Wed, 23 May 2012 00:00:37 EST 12 Weeks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4871430 Last week: 188 lbs
This week: 190 lbs

That is +2 pounds since last weigh in.

Guess who isn't worried about gaining 2 pounds? Me! Know why? Because as of today I am getting back on track! I did SO much better today diet wise. And the past two nights I have been doing my crunches again. So I'm not worried. I'm pretty proud of how well I did today after a couple of weeks of being too slack with myself about food.

Saturday I worked my tail off mowing. We got... Mon, 7 May 2012 22:45:04 EST Pics http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4866690 I tried to change my profile picture but it just won't upload...Grr.

I don't usually dress up or put make-up on. I'm a blue-jeans and t-shirt type person. Today I felt like getting a little "prettied" up. So I took some new pictures. Plus I recently had 5-6 inches cut off my hair and I wanted to show my new hairstyle. So since I can't change my profile pic I'll just upload a pic here.

I also t... However I just checked and that is -1 pound difference from my first weigh in of April. 39

April was not a winner for me. My motivation ran low, my stress was higher...it just wasn't a great month weight wise.

The fiber problem is clearing itself up. I quit taking the supplements, added even more water, and quit worrying so much about it. I think some of the prob... Wed, 2 May 2012 00:05:40 EST 10 Weeks (A Few Days Late!) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4852656 Last week weigh in: 185 lbs
This week weigh in: 189 lbs
That is + 4 pounds for the week.

Rough week. Still having fiber problems. Cannot seem to get enough. (You can figure out how I know for yourself...) It is quite painful and I have been terribly bloated. I finally broke down and took a laxative (I HATE pills!). But I refuse to do that often. I don't know how I'm going to fix this problem. I think this weekend I will research foods that are rich in fiber that my body c... Thu, 26 Apr 2012 01:24:58 EST 9 Weeks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4838434 Last week weigh in: 188 lbs
This week weigh in: 185 lbs
That is -3 pounds for the week.

I literally worked my butt off outside this weekend! I stayed outside most of the weekend working in the yard, gardening and cleaning house. I got SO much done and the energy was great!

Other people are starting to notice the change. A relative who hasn't seen me in a month or so saw me last Friday and said she could really see that I had lost weight. My face is showing i... Mon, 16 Apr 2012 22:09:19 EST 8 Weeks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4828083 Last week weigh in: 189 lbs
This week weigh in: 188 lbs
That is -1 pound for the week.

I'll take losing a pound. Especially with Sunday having been Easter! I had jelly beans and Cadbury eggs. I just moderated fairly well apparently!

I've still not been exercising like I know I should, but I am more active every single week than the previous. Last week I helped my Dad by mowing our yard. It was a riding mower, I'll give you, but that is still work! (Trust me!)... Tue, 10 Apr 2012 01:51:04 EST 7 Weeks In http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4817134 This week weigh in: 189 lbs

This is -4 pounds from last week.

Yea! I broke through the 190 mark! Woo hoo! I haven't been in the 180's in 7-8 years. Other people are beginning to see the changes too, finally. My Dad said he could tell in my shoulders and sides. I see that too. My face is slightly slimmer, but not where I want. I'm feeling a lot better since the last time I wrote.

I took last week and last weekend and kind of chilled out about diet and exercise... Mon, 2 Apr 2012 16:15:02 EST Another Week Down http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4806547 Weigh In From Tonight: 193 lbs
That is +2 from last week. Not too bad considering I had some "hiccups" in my diet/weight loss plan.
I learned one thing the HARD way! I learned how very important fiber is to the human body. I have been taking a multi-vitamin but obviously I still haven't been getting enough fiber. I went Saturday and bought fiber supplements and have started tracking my fiber on my food tracker too. That is one reason why my weight is up this week.
Another reas... Mon, 26 Mar 2012 23:48:45 EST -3.5 Pounds http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4795862 Monday Weigh-In
3/19 191 lbs

That means I've lost 3.5 pounds in a week. I'm happy with it. I was down to 192 by last Friday though so I was hoping that I might make it to 190 by today, but I didn't. I'm REALLY happy with losing 3.5 pounds, don't get me wrong. I know they say that 2 pounds a week is a healthy loss, but I AM eating right, I'm NOT starving myself. I eat plenty. I've been staying around 1300-1400 calories which is right in the middle of my 1200-1500 calorie range ... Mon, 19 Mar 2012 22:16:02 EST Changes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4791560 I know it has been a few days since I last wrote. I've just been plugging away at the diet and exercise. I'm down to 192 lbs. Hoping to make it to 190 by Monday weigh-in.

I read somewhere (O.k., on Pinterest...) that it takes 4 weeks for you to notice your body changing, 8 weeks for your friends and family to notice and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice. It took nearly 5 weeks before I could really see the physical changes, and even now they are slight. I think my 12 po... Sat, 17 Mar 2012 01:44:27 EST -10 Pounds http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4784511 Today is my 1 month Sparkpeople anniversary! And I have lost 10 pounds!

I feel great! Such a feeling of accomplishment! It wasn't easy, but totally worth it. I hope that in a month I'll be down at least 10 more pounds!

I'll be honest, I stepped on the scale this morning and it was reading 196 so I was nervous about my "official" weigh-in tonight. I dreaded it ALL day. I was even being ill, dreading it. So I put it off until after I had cleaned house (another habit I've... Mon, 12 Mar 2012 21:36:57 EST Water! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4782358 I've been drinking only water for about 3 weeks. We have well water that is unfiltered. My Dad and I were talking the other day about all the minerals that were probably in the water I'd been drinking. So we talked about buying a water filter. Also, I'm a cheapskate and we have bottled water but I drink SO much water a day I would run through those bottles quickly. I'm drinking at least 8 bottles of water a day. I opened 3 new bottles of water and have just been refilling them. Well my Dad al... Sun, 11 Mar 2012 17:37:47 EST Been A Few Days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4782080 It's been a few days since I have blogged. Not a lot has happened.

Yesterday I weighed 195.5! That means that if I have lost .5 lbs by tomorrow I will have lost 10 pounds since I started! 10 pounds in a month! Woo hoo! I'm trying to be careful this weekend with what I eat and trying to keep on the move. I really want to hit that -10 pound mark.

I also realized something Friday night. My brain confuses "sleepy" and "hungry". I stayed up late Friday night and found I wa... Sun, 11 Mar 2012 13:56:10 EST Good News http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4775724 Well, my back is ALMOST back to normal! I have rested it since Sunday, only very very light stretching in case it was just sore muscles from exercise. Apparently it WAS just sore muscles from exercise! Yea! I noticed yesterday that I was able to stand up without pain and that it only hurt after being up for a long time. This morning when I woke up there was just a slight pain on getting out of bed! I'm so relieved. My parent's both have bad lower backs. My Dad has arthritis in his lower back ... Wed, 7 Mar 2012 13:35:24 EST My Back... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4771895 Yesterday morning I woke up with a big problem. My lower back directly above my tailbone was in extreme pain. I could barely move. I spent the day trying to rest my back so that it will heal quickly. It is still sore today. I'm walking hunched over like a 90 year old. Getting up and sitting down is terrible. I don't know if I sprained it, strained it or what...But I do know that I am going to give it another day at least to rest. No crunches or anything for me. 24
My back hasn... Mon, 5 Mar 2012 12:53:30 EST Yipes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4767423 I have not caved in to cravings yet, but no promises. I know one of my triggers to eat is stress. Well I'm stressed...The weather has me about biting my nails, which I haven't done in YEARS! I want so bad for the comfort that snacking gives me. But still holding strong. It's just SO hard. I'm sitting here watching the weather on t.v., checking it on the computer and listening to my sister tell me all the texts she's getting from relatives and friends telling us to keep our eyes on the weather... Fri, 2 Mar 2012 15:41:26 EST I Am Pumped! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4766374 Well, today has been rather uneventful, but that's good I suppose. Got to get some sleep tonight because it looks as if tomorrow afternoon/night here in 'Bama should be interesting.
Diet-wise: I conquered the cravings! Every single day I crave something sweet. I indulge my sweet tooth with a couple of "Nilla" wafers. They may not be the best snack, but they are yummy and my little indulgence! I have also conquered my addiction to Diet Coke! After years of drinking around 6-8 cans a day I... Thu, 1 Mar 2012 23:58:41 EST Craving http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4763607 Today is one of those days where I am craving food so bad! I've had a 200 calorie salad which was yummy, but I had to make a sandwich too because I am SO hungry!
I have been having a hard time hitting 1200 calories a day. So today I decided that mid-morning I would eat a small salad. Now my sandwich is lunch.
I'm craving chocolate so horribly. I've decided that if, in a couple of hours, I am still having the craving I will do like my (skinny) Grandmother used to do; Eat a portion ... Wed, 29 Feb 2012 14:32:38 EST Official Weekly Weigh-In http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4759986 Well after a rough week I did my official weigh-in a little while ago.

2/27: 197 lbs

One pound might not seem like much, but I had a hard time last week. I really thought I was going to be up a pound of two. But nope, down one! And it's Monday-a NEW week! I've got my exercise clothes on, found some better shoes I had and I'm about to go work out. Going to do strength and cardio. Going to work hard this week...

Mon, 27 Feb 2012 14:45:36 EST Rough Week-Honesty http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4754059 I have went back 2 pounds. I know why...and I know I couldn't exactly help it. Next month at this time I will just crank up the exercise. Which is exactly what I plan to do tomorrow...I weigh myself every couple of days and last night my weight was up. I know it is going to do this every so often and that I can't expect to lose 6 pounds every week. So I am just going to keep doing what I know I SHOULD be doing. I know I'm getting the right amount of water, I'm taking a multi-vitamin because o... Thu, 23 Feb 2012 21:44:15 EST Bought My Pedometer! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4751978 Well I went this afternoon and bought a pedometer for myself so I can keep better track of my steps on a daily basis. The one I bought also tracks distance and that is what I really needed. I walk around our property and I have no idea how many miles I do when I walk around it. Now I will! The pedometer I bought is not the greatest in the world as it seems to count a shake as a step, but I really needed it more for the distance measure capability anyway...
I also bought a protein meal ba... Wed, 22 Feb 2012 19:44:55 EST Equipment Question http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4750509 I currently have no exercise equipment. To get my cardio in I either have to walk/jog in place here in the house or pray that the weather in 'Bama cooperates so I can walk around our 1 acre of property. And in the Spring weather here is a mess. I can't walk down the road because I live in an area with no leash laws and lots of people with big, mean outdoor dogs which I am a bit scared of.
My question is: My Dad and I have been discussing buying an elliptical machine and looked at some a... Tue, 21 Feb 2012 23:41:15 EST Man... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4750503 So yesterday I did my full strength workout and still had SO much energy. I felt like moving all day, which is SO unlike me. So I threw in a few more crunches, squats, lunges and pushups before my shower last night. Then I slept so good! I think that taking a multivitamin everyday, drinking LOTS of water everyday and not eating a lot of junk is really starting to make me have more energy. I like it!
Well today I woke up seriously congested. Boo... I always, always had sinus problems. Up ... Tue, 21 Feb 2012 23:37:07 EST Ugh! More Salad! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4747767 Another day, another lunch of salad! It was fine the first day, even the second, but now I'm growing tired of it. I tried adding cucumber (which I had never even tasted before) and that didn't help. (I don't think I like cucumber.)
I'm limited SO much by 1) my pickiness and 2)money. I'm the only one in my house on a diet and no one else really wants to not eat yummy, greasy Southern food. So I have to ask for a special food once a week or so when it is time to go to the grocery store. ... Mon, 20 Feb 2012 13:19:40 EST 7 Days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4745867 I have, as of today, been on this site for a week. I weighed myself this morning and clocked in a 198.5! I haven't been under 200 lbs in AGES! (Seriously, like 8 or 9 years!) I am thrilled! I can't wait to see how far I can get in a month's time.
I have to say, I'm not feeling as energetic as I was earlier in the week. My stress level is a lot higher so I haven't been sleeping well and I think that is the difference. I was feeling super craptastic yesterday so I didn't do hardly anythi... Sun, 19 Feb 2012 10:19:14 EST Already Feeling The Difference http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4741964 I had went years without watching what I eat or dieting. In 5 days time of making myself eat better and move more I can totally feel the difference. It may be mostly in my head, but I don't care, I feel better!
Last night after my shower I realized that I feel better about my appearance already, even if I can't see any difference yet. I was putting so much junk in my body and just letting it set there...no wonder I never felt good! But now adding veggies to my diet and taking a vitamin... Thu, 16 Feb 2012 14:03:43 EST Heading Into Day 5 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4741151 So I feel like I should mention that I am not a "yo-yo" dieter. I see so many people who say that they have tried so many diets; I am not one of them.
As a teen I was average weight, but I had TONS of willpower. I had a poor relationship with food though and I tended toward not eating enough. But it was never a diet, it was just me not liking food. (I'm a SUPER picky eater!)
As I have gotten older I have stayed picky. The difference now is that as a teen I had to participate ... Thu, 16 Feb 2012 02:12:16 EST Hate Exercise... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4737175 I have to admit, I HATE to exercise. Mainly, I hate to sweat...But I sure love the feeling after I exercise! I feel floaty, energetic and pumped. It makes me understand why/how people get addicted to exercise. I find that if I exercise early in the day I sneak in stretches and keep moving the rest of the day. I wish I remembered more clearly the good feelings for longer, maybe I would exercise more!
