Slow going to get back this time. Lots of swelling kept me in the #@%$@^*& boot until August and then I got so fed up I bought a pair of big sneakers so I could get more normal. In late September I finally jammed my foot in to my normal sneakers. The foot is still a bit swollen and tight but it is in there. I am running short distances less than a mile but doing 4 plus on the elliptical got a knee walker ... It is all flat in the indoor track. I plan to move outside soon and get on to the hills. I took pictures of me in the mirror at the gym today. I know it isn't great but it is better. Sat, 15 Mar 2008 23:49:43 EST Minor Set Back Last night my husband slipped on the ice and hurt his ankle and leg. This got him out of going for a walk, I was hoping to start doing this each evening with him. It looked not so good either, not much we could do at 9 PM. <BR> <BR> Well this morning we went to Sports Medicine. He had torn the ligaments and broke the fibular and the cracked the ankle. I have been doing great. I was visiting in Anchorage for 4 days and I manged to keep active and not eat bad. <BR> <BR> We were able to go for walks and go hunting for Geocaches. But I am eatting well and I will be home Monday night. I am still losing weight and my body fat has gone down too. A very happy moring I was down again in weight a 1.25 pounds. I love to see that duck move! I have been working hard. I have been working on the exercises in the MTC book. I am not ready to start the program yet. I am working another one right now with a class I am in. But I want to be ready. I have started just plain old running again. Wasn't sure about my foot but Monday I ran 1/4 mile, Wed. I ran 1/2 a mile and today I ran 3/4 of a mile. Foot seems to be keeping up. Nothing beats... You think that I would as a scuba instructor but in the pool I wear a wet suit, the chemicals do that in fast enough with out also eating up a suit. I mostly dive cold water in a dry suit and there you wear a snow suit under your dry suit. When I do make it to the warm areas I just wear a sports bra and sometimes lycra shorts or bike shorts under my skin or wet suit. I have a real long bod... I don't tend to follow a recipe very well and just cook by the seat of my pants most of the time. The only goal I have scored before was one for the other team when it bounced of my skate until today. I scored in a game in Healy Alaska against the Healy Coal Queens. Healy is a coal mining town about 20 miles from Dena;i National Park in the Alaska Range (You might know it as Mount McKinley) . The weather was great and we were playing outside.
