MONGO2TEN's SparkPeople Blog MONGO2TEN's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Sixty Thousand Steps! Believe it or not , that's what I challenged myself to walk with my fit bit last Tuesday . It amounts to approximately 8 hours of walking/running . That's 30 miles . The thing that surprised me the most was that I wasn't sore or tired the next day . The worst part of the challenge was the huge time commitment . Will I earn my 65,000 badge? Maybe . I know that I can do it . The issue will be finding the day that I have that amount ... Wed, 29 Apr 2015 06:11:14 EST Staying the course.... Been awhile I know. For one thing, I don't like reading what I write. It's kind of like listening to my voice on tape - doesn't sound a bit like I want it to. But since it's helpful for me, I'll try to be better about it.

The good - I've been tracking faithfully, eliminated all the junk from my house and am feeling much better. My weight continues to fluctuate, but for the most part, it's on a downhill course and that makes me happy. My running has also improved - I'm up to 7.... Wed, 15 Apr 2015 08:29:00 EST A little setback? This morning the scales have me up 2 lb.....even though I have stuck with my program faithfully. Disappointed? Yes, but it does happen. Most likely in a day or two the scales will go down 3 or 4 lbs. It happens. Weight fluctuates and the scales do lie. It's why they recommend you don't step on the scales daily. But for me, stepping on daily works - as long as I realize that they do fluctuate.

Keeping my eye on that number though!

I did well yesterday, except for o... Fri, 27 Mar 2015 05:47:56 EST Things I've learned this week.... 1. My "competitive" nature is a flaw. It's ok not to be first (or second) on my dashboard. I have to do the right thing for me. And letting someone else ahead can be gracious.

2. I eat a lot standing up. I'm going through the Beck Diet solution book. They give you one assignment each day. Today's is to make it a rule not to eat while standing up. So far, I have eaten some peppers while cutting them up this morning for my eggs and a strawberry. I've been mindful the rest of the time... Thu, 26 Mar 2015 06:01:34 EST Day 3 Yesterday I didn't do bad, but it didn't go quite as well. I got a little bit of a snack attack last night and while I was eating healthy (fruit, etc) I ended up about 150 calories over my calorie budget. Not a lot, but a habit I need to nip.

I think I had the fruit because I was really craving some bread. A nice Vitatop with peanut butter smeared all over it, was calling my name.

Working on sticking with this. My sleep is better than ever - I logged in almost 7 hou... Wed, 25 Mar 2015 06:25:01 EST Day 2 I stayed on plan yesterday and it was even easier than before. No night eating, slept much better and even managed a 6 mile run in an hour! Fastest I've done in awhile.

Went to my WW meeting and lost 1.2 Considering how much the scales were up over the weekend, that made me extremely happy! Down another lb. this morning, although my ticker won't show yet as I just started using my Aria scales again.

The reset calls for 3 T. of oil (coconut or olive) each day - one at... Tue, 24 Mar 2015 09:00:15 EST Day 1 So, I completed my first day of the thyroid reset diet. It was easier than I thought, although I was really wanting some bread at dinner last night, but I resisted!

I feel pretty good and only woke up one time during the night. What is really good is that I didn't get up and head for the fridge to eat anything. I went to the bathroom and then got back in bed and went right to sleep. My fitbit gave me 6 hours, 12 minutes of sleep - awake 1x and restless only 5x. That's a pretty... Mon, 23 Mar 2015 04:51:18 EST Could it be???? I was doing some research over the weekend and came across some interesting articles about weight loss and exercise. I've been struggling with a few things ....15 lbs that have "mysteriously" came back on over the winter and turning into an eating machine after I go to bed. Hmmm...could these be related?

So in order to make up for my calorie bombs at night, I've done the "sensible" thing - increased my exercise. Which just might be making things worse.

www.the... Sun, 22 Mar 2015 05:34:22 EST Trying to get back on track I've been gone from Spark for a few years. Over the past year, I have gained 15 lbs. I am trying to lose 10 of those pounds and do so well during the day, but at night I turn into an eating machine! It's habit. I'm not hungry. I go to bed. I wake up to use the bathroom and go on autopilot to the kitchen. It's sabotaging my efforts to lose weight.

So I'm putting it out there. My goal is to have a nice healthy evening snack with hubby and then go to bed and not eat another ... I ate more than I'd planned, but not as much as I could have.

Today I stayed within my weight watcher points allotment and got in my healthy guidelines. I feel really good about that. Mon, 3 May 2010 22:25:05 EST Yesterday Yesterday I got to spend an entire day with my daughter and her family. We attend the same church (her husband is actually our preacher), so we see each other, but don't get a lot of time together one on one.

Being with a 22 month old, it was a busy day.
