He had mild pneumonia and I had a "summer cold" which I'm still fighting off. I haven't walked since last week. This evening I'm hitting the road and doing my two miles. I miss it!! Going to get started back on the C25k as well. <BR> My 20 year old started college finally. It's been a long road for her. She is so introverted and shy and we have always been suspicious that she may have Asperger's. She has been homeschooled since 6th grade... Thu, 30 May 2013 15:56:49 EST Back on track. I officially started a beginner 5k prep program today. It's similar to the C25K. I did pretty well. Still walking 3 or more times a week. Usually over 2 miles. <BR> <BR> Yesterday I did the March of Dimes walk-a-thon. Had a great time. <BR> <BR> I haven't lost anymore weight but I haven't gained either. Mon, 25 Mar 2013 09:53:37 EST Nature hike with my favorite guy Sunday my 8 year old son and I took a hike on part of a 13 mile trail. We did two miles! I can walk two miles easily but was surprised that my little man kept up and even ran ahead of me of a few times. I know what our new pass time is going to be. Next time we are packing a back pack with healthy snacks and extra water and maybe go a little further. Sometimes it just has to click in my head that there are no short cuts to fitness and weight loss. Diet change and excercise are the key. So far I have walked two days this week. Fri, 8 Mar 2013 09:45:54 EST Rain rain went away Yay! It finally stopped raining on the Gulf Coast. I started back walking at lunch today after not walking for over a week. It felt great and I can't wait to do it again tomorrow! My work is 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from the Navy base so I have two places I can walk. The base has a very nice padded walking track but nothing beats walking the sidewalk on the beach. <BR> <BR> Note to self: No excuse for not exercising when I work so close to two accessible gyms and walking tra... It's walking distance! <BR> <BR... Fri, 22 Feb 2013 20:23:33 EST Lunch hour walk Yesterday I managed to squeeze in a 2 mile walk on my lunch hour. I walked the sidewalk along the beach. It's a nice long stretch. I walked a mile and then turned around. I'm loving my walk tracker. It lets me know when I've walked a mile so I know to turn around. Each one a different kind. I steamed some today and this what I have been snacking on. So filling and good. I have always loved cabbage. I use very little salt, fresh ground pepper and some tobasco. In the last 2 weeks I have lost 11 lbs. He is such a joy and motivation to me. My daughter is 18 has been encouraging me to get healthier. She is vegan. I have learned so much from her.
