Mon, 11 Mar 2013 20:25:28 EST Thank You I just wanted to say Thank you to everyone who has taken the time out to read my blogs, comment on them and for all the support I have gotten.
I feel that without all of this support I would not have gotten as far as I have and won't be able to accomplish what I plan to do in the next few months.
Thank you again. Mon, 11 Mar 2013 12:37:49 EST Accountability I started this year off with a bang. Lost weight and inches like there was no tomorrow. The end of February rolled around and I started slacking. I quit exercising as much and started to slip back into my old ways. Luckily I have not gained any weight. But I feel like crap. I am being lazy and not wanting to do anything. I am always tired again. Funny, because before I started to act like this I stopped being as active in the SparkPeople community. So today I decided that I am going to become... Thu, 7 Mar 2013 17:43:10 EST Link to previous blog! Please if you haven't read my last blog "One Size Does not Fit All!" Please take the time to do so. I am adding the link to it. There is a very important message that a lot of people who are here need to read.

I am sorry if this is going to sound repetitive but this is the blog I will post daily until Sunday.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

urnal_individual.asp?blog_id=5258059
Thu, 21 Feb 2013 11:18:52 EST One Size Does not Fit All!!!!!!!!! I normally only blog once a day or less.... However, I was reading something a few minutes ago on another blog that just got under my skin.

In this blog the author was praising eating 5-6 meals per day because that is what works for him/her. I am all for praising something that works for you. But this person was suggesting that every person should do exactly what they were doing becasue that was working for them and because there is research that supports this style of eating for ... Wed, 20 Feb 2013 22:07:49 EST Revelation I want to show everyone who is so focused on the scale that there are much better things to focus on when it comes to your health.

I moved to Texas in October of 2008. When I moved here I weighed 199 pounds. I could walk. I walked everywhere before we got here. So much easier to walk in Florida than where I live. But anyway, I am getting off topic. When I got here I was in between a size 14 and 16 in jeans.
A year later I had my fourth kid. I was at 217 pounds when I deliver... Wed, 20 Feb 2013 13:52:30 EST Bloated and BodyRock I think yesterday I must have still been retaining water. Because today I was actually down 2 pounds from yesterday. I usually fluctuate about 2 pounds and Tuesday and WEdnesday can go either way. Last week on Wed I was up to 226. Today down to 223. Will Just have to wait and see where Sunday leaves me.

Today I am starting a 30 day BodyRock Challenge. Debating on whether or not I should wait til this afternoon and do today's workout. Do yesterday's now and today's later or just sta... Tue, 19 Feb 2013 11:59:39 EST Curious Update #2 Ok so I had a week of eating horrible. Never really went over 2500 calories. Just a lot of junk. Junk I have found bloats me beyon belief so I didn't weigh or do measurements until today. NOt a big deal.
My experiment seems to be working. Athought I gained a little weight, I think I may still be retaining water, I lost inches. Like lots of inches.

My measurements when I started my journey were:

1/26/2013

Weight: 226 Pounds
Waist: ... Mon, 18 Feb 2013 11:35:04 EST Why didn't I do this before? Today I tried something completely new. I had been doing the Jillian Michaels body revolution workouts and thought they were ok. Just too tedious for my liking. So today I tried a higher intesity HIIT workout from
OMG!!!! I felt it all over and am still breathing a little hard. It was tough. Made it through 2 of the 3 four minute rounds. It was INTENSE!!!!! I am loving this though. It is a different workout everyday. 6 days a week. They offer modificatio... Fri, 15 Feb 2013 15:28:33 EST Curious update So it has been two days since I upped my calories. Tuesday I did good. Ate fairly well. I would be eating all day if all I ever ate was clean food and no junk at all. I even lost an entire pound.
Yesterday started off really well. Then I had to run an errand right around dinner time and knowing it would be a while before I got to eat because we were going to my dad's for dinner. They have company in from out of town and they wanted us all over. Well I ran through the Arby's drive throug... Thu, 14 Feb 2013 10:30:19 EST Curious I am a little curious about calories lately. Especailly since the amount of calories I am taking in should have me dropping weight like crazy. So I did some research. In order for me to maintain my current body weight I need to take in almost 2800 calories a day. My BMR is 1793. So simply by me cutting out soda and starting to exercise I should, in theory be dropping weight fast.
According to my research in order for me to lose 2 pounds a week I need to take in 1780 calories per day. Sp... Tue, 12 Feb 2013 11:40:51 EST Frustration setting in This week I went over my calories a few days and stayed within or went slightly under a few days. It averaged out to be about 1500 calories per day. worked out 3 days so far. Today at some point will be day 4. The scale wont budge. I guess I am going to have to up the work outs. Especially since apparently working out til I am about to die for half an hour only burns around 230 calories. Maybe I should add waling on the treadmill for 30 minutes each day. That will burn a few more calories. Wh... Sat, 9 Feb 2013 14:19:02 EST Better Morning The baby seems to be feeling much better today. I slept a little better last night and am not as tired. Got so much to do today. Have to run to the pharmacy to get my oldest boy's meds. Have to figure out what I am going to make for dinner. Was thinking maybe some Chicken Parmesean. I can make that low fat and low cal and still taste yummy. Work out. That is going to be first on my list for today. And clean the house from top to bottom. With 2 going on 3 kids sick I need to sanitize my house. Fri, 8 Feb 2013 11:17:19 EST ARGHHHHH I was doing so well for most of the day, when I took both of my sons to the doctor and was there for 2 hours. I decided then that we were going to have take out for dinner. I should have grabbed a sub from Subway when I got my youngest girl hers. Or maybe a salad from Boston Market or Arbys. (Yes I went to 3 restaraunts). But no I got a sandwich and fries from Arby's. My tummy is yelling very loudly at me right now. I guess that wouldn't be so bad but I had a pretzel at Target before, because... Thu, 7 Feb 2013 22:41:24 EST Sick baby and exhaustion I need to work out. I know I do. I always feel better when I do. On that note. I don't want to. I just want to sleep while my three year old is. Since that is about all he has been doing for 3 days and I haven't slept for 3 nights because he is so sick.
I am calling the doctor today to see if I can get him in. He is miserable and running a fever.
Sorry just had to vent. Thu, 7 Feb 2013 12:53:06 EST Excited about vacation I never get excited about going anywhere. Because it usually involves a preplanned itenerarry that I had no say in and places I don't really want to go. This year, I got to make all the decisions. (First time vacationing without my parents).
Around June 14 of this year we are going to go to Mustang Island State Park in Port Aransas, TX and go camping. We are gonna get to camp right on the beach. That is going to be so much fun. We came to Texas from South Florida, and there was no campi... Thu, 7 Feb 2013 08:57:04 EST Progress

This is me when I started on my journey. I was over 230 pounds. YUCK!

Ok, I know two pics of me before! But I need to show the difference. Mainly for me. I see it in the mirror now. Before when I looked in the mirror I would see the me and if I looked straight on, unless I was naked. I would think, "Wow, I don't look that bad."... Wed, 6 Feb 2013 12:09:18 EST Gardening In our family we eat a lot of veggies. And it is getting to that time of year when we can start planting. Being in the south, mid February is perfect for planting your spring crops. This will be our first year doing this. Two years ago we tried tomatoes. That was funny. We planted them, gave themwater and nutrients they needed to grow. Just enough sun. What do we get. Little hard rocks that looked like Cherry Tomatoes.
This is going to be an interesting adventure. I know that once we ge... Tue, 5 Feb 2013 13:40:49 EST Cardio and foot cramps I have been doing these Jillian Michaels Body revolution videos off and on for the past month. Started with Insanity, did about 3 days and couldn't handle the high impact yet because of a sore back from being so heavy. Switched to JM and have been able to handle. At least the HIIT days. I try to do the cardio days and my feet cramp so bad that I am crying and doubled over in pain. When that was a problem I tried the treadmill. I have a preset button for 1 mile. It goes from 2.8 mph to 5.5. As... Mon, 4 Feb 2013 10:35:47 EST This and that I am tired today. Have been for a few days. I cannot seem to get enough sleep. I average around 5 hours per night on a good night. Last night was one of those "good nights". I woke up twice and once 7 am rolled around I couldn't go back to sleep. So I got up, did my running around, made breakfast, started the laundry, took a nap, had lunch and now I am ready to pass out again.
I need to clean out and wash my van. Maybe I will go outside and do that. It is a beautiful day out. Hopefully ... Sun, 3 Feb 2013 14:30:26 EST MY PANTS ARE TOO BIG My pants have fallen down since I bought them. When I first put them on in the morning after they are washed: because they are too tight. Then later in the day because they have stretched out. Today I put them on clean and they were too big. Loose in the legs, gaps in the waist, baggy in the butt!!!!!! Woo Hoo I can't believe it. It has been so long since I put a pair of pants on that were too big. I love this feeling. Guess that means it is almost time to retire these ones and move to the si... Sat, 2 Feb 2013 10:44:29 EST Eating too little I came to the realization last night, after I had eaten my dinner and still had 330 calories minimum left over that I may be eating too little. Maybe that is why my weight loss has stalled a bit.
This is a breakdown of how my weightloss has gone so far this year. I quit drinking soda the first Monday of January. The first week I lost 2 pounds. The next week I lost 1 pound. The next week I didn't lose anything. Last week, after kicking up my workouts a little, I lost 4 more pounds. This... Fri, 1 Feb 2013 16:47:17 EST Way too long I can't believe that I haven't been on Sparkpeople since April 2011.

The whole time I was continually gaining weight and losing the same 5-10 pounds. I knew I should have been doing better. No Soda, less fast food, more fruits and veggies. Did I care? No, not really. I just wanted to be lazy and do nothing. I guess it didn't help that I was depressed and my husband was never very encouraging. He always makes fun of me when I am working out. And when I try to fed us better, he co... Thu, 31 Jan 2013 18:34:05 EST Having a great day. I am having a great day today. It started off with breakfast with my mom. she cooked. Ok so biscuits and gravy aren't exactly good for you; but it was a nice treat. After breakfast William and I came home. He took a nap. I put in a Zumba video and go t all kinds of sweaty. I have managed to get 3 loads of laundry done. A miracle around here and after the kids get home from school in about 3 hours we will be going back to dads to go swimming. Yeah!!! Two fun exersices in one day. Who could h... Wed, 25 May 2011 13:54:21 EST Cuban Ok I know I have already blogged today but as I sat eating my leftover Cuban pork from the other night I got to thinnking I need to find some more Cuban recipes that are healthy. I am so missing being able to walk to the corner and grab a cafe and tostada. (Thats's cofee and toast). Although Cuban cafe con leche has more sugar in it than a can of Coke. It was a nice treat. Since we moved from South Florida to North Texas the extent of our Cuban food has been only what I know how to make. Pic... Fri, 20 May 2011 13:20:34 EST exercise I have spent may hours trying to find a workout that was right for me. One that I would stick to . I have tried everything from a personal trainer, to boot camp. even signed up for classes at the junior college that I attend. I haven't stuck to anything. Until now. I have finally found something that I wanbt to do all the time. I LOVE ZUMBA!!!!!!!
Zumba is so much fun. I am still in the process of learning the steps but I don't want to stop. Even just learning the basic steps you are... Fri, 20 May 2011 09:02:08 EST Waiting I work everyday to incorporate my favorite foods int a healthy lifestyle. I exercise at least 30 minutes a day even if it is just a light stroll around the neighborhood. I try to stay within a 1500-1800 calorie buget for my food intake. I have weeks where the pounds melt off like butter in a ho frying pan and other weeks where the needle doesn't seem to want to budge. This is frustrating me extremely. I know that I need to make changes and either eat less or exercise more when the weight sta... Mon, 16 May 2011 12:10:46 EST Power 90 Day 1 I finally pulled the Power 90 dvd's out of the box after having them for almost 3 years. I did the complete Power 90 Circuit 1-2 Cardio workout and about 10 minutes of the sculpt circuit. I feel wonderful but I so need a nap. This workout is simple, No strenous moves, no crazy dances, just straight forward cardio. Unfortunately being so out of shape made the workout challenging to me. Luckily challenging workouts are so much better for burning calories. Mon, 2 May 2011 14:21:27 EST Back on Track Wow, I have been doing terrible on my Spark journey. I have been eating horrible and not exercising as much as I should. My Husband has been a major inspiration. The man who could eat McDonald's five times a day and never gain a pound has decided that he is going to eat healthier and start exercising. Now I have no excuse for not getting at least 30 minutes of exercise in every day. None of this 3 days a week bull. I am going to do this finally and I am going to live a long healthy life for ... Fri, 29 Apr 2011 11:11:44 EST Weekend Worries Wow my weekend was so hectic. Saturday started bright and early at 5am. We had to leave our house by 6:45 am in order to be at our 6 year old son's first Tae Kwon Do tournament. That felt like the longest day ever. We made it to the tournament by 7:20 and we left at 3pm. I thought food was going to be an issue. It really didn't seem to be. Granola bars were a life saver. We had thin crust pizza for lunch and then came home and made dinner. I unfortunately didn't record what I ate all day so ... Mon, 18 Apr 2011 22:55:38 EST Day One Today is the first day of a healthy lifestyle. I am so ready to lose weight and feel good about myself. I am so sick of wearing clothes that fit funny. No matte what I wear I feel like I look like a giant pumpkin. I want to feel like I am Hot. Like everyone has always told me.
