WOW, it's been since April that I was on here -- and yep, my last post was about being so frustrated with my progress! <BR> I continued doing TRX through the end of May.... never losing a pound or an inch... went into the summer feeling like I was going to keep moving... and well... you know, life happened! <BR> So today I start the Bear River Nutrition Weight Loss Challenge -- on one hand I feel like it's "just another attempt"... on the other hand, I feel like it can't hurt.... <BR> I ha... I've not lost any weight and my measurements are exactly what they were when I started. <BR> <BR> Shawn told me yesterday morning that I am so much stronger than I started... being that I'm doing the TRX exercises a lot faster and at deeper angles etc..... he understands my frustration though... he even left ... First off.... did another workout this morning ~ today would be a normal walking day, so I did 30 minutes on the Wii and then a 20 minute Wii Zumba routine ~ keeping on track with my exercise and diet.... <BR> <BR> Secondly, I'm reading through blogs ~ many of them people who are down.... and I can so easily offer advice and encouragement.... when it's other people who are down.... but why can't I take my own encouragement and advice when I'm the one who is discouraged and down?? <BR> <BR> ... I just got back from town where I ran some errands, went to the grocery store to fill the fridge/cupboard with healthy stuff to snack on... and stopped by the school to do the regular Tuesday TRX workout!!! Yeah me!!! I actually did the entire workout! <BR> <BR> So I set the timer in the weight room... and did everything by the clock just as normal.... talk about weird being in there by myself! I had fun while I did it too! <BR> <BR> I did my workout this morning right off the bat.... while the coffee was brewing, so I couldn't put it off! Mon, 25 Mar 2013 22:42:05 EST Spring in NW Colorado Yep, Spring has Sprung in NW Colorado! My last blog was about the sun shining and melting the snow so fast.... and since then, we've got about a foot of snow in 2 days! Yes, it warms up in the afternoon and most of it melts, but there is still snow on the ground! It makes for lots of mud and makes me NOT want to walk outside! And since I'm on Spring Break, I don't want to drive to town to walk in the school! <BR> <BR> So tomorrow starts my challenge of getting my exercise in while on Sp... Sun, 24 Mar 2013 22:46:02 EST "Just" walking today Good morning :-) <BR> So we "just walked" today - no extra exercises - we both did TRX yesterday and Rhonda was pretty sore, so I opted to just walk today - we did 30 minutes brisk walking ~ feel pretty good about it because I don't want to overdue either of our bodies! We'll both do TRX again tomorrow, but plan to do the extra with the walking exercises on Friday :-) <BR> <BR> So I say "just" walking because that's all we did ~ but the point is, we DID do it! We just keep truckin' on! E... Wed, 20 Mar 2013 12:22:40 EST I Survived the doubling at TRX!!! I survived!!! and I was SCARED that I wouldn't!!!! <em>24</em> <BR> <BR> This morning we doubled everything in TRX... so the exercises are 2 times through now... and so are the sessions on the elliptical.... total of 9 minutes of strength and 12 minutes of cardio... but it seems like 90 minutes of strength and 120 minutes of cardio when you're doing it! <BR> <BR> I did find myself holding back and going a little slower make sure that I had enough in the tank to finish... Yes, I snacked more than I would have liked to, but I didn't snack as much as I could have! I was conscious of it more than anything! Mon, 18 Mar 2013 22:43:12 EST weekend challenge! so here goes my biggest challenge in the last 4 weeks of doing the workouts and tracking the food ~ I have to cook 2 meals for 30 people on Saturday - lunch & dinner.... as cheap as possible, so of course I go for the spaghetti... come on, you can feed 30 people for probably less than $10.... but here in lies the issue.... Well let me say, my butt isn't as upper abs are still pretty sore... but that might be from coughing also... dang cold! <BR> <BR> The upper ab soreness is a good thing I'm told... since lots of times people don't work that area.. they just concentrate on the lower abs... I made it through the next step in TRX this morning! Three exercises, 2 minutes on the Elliptical ~ repeated 3 times ~ let me tell you, that last 2 minutes on the Elliptical I thought I was going to die.... but I kept going, watching the timer the entire time... but knowing that I could do anything for 2 minutes! I wasn't sure for several seconds of that 2 minutes, but I survived.... sweating my butt off, but I made it! <BR> <BR> Gotta do that again on Thursday and then we double it nex... So starts another week.... did the morning walk with 'R'..... we did 4 minute laps and then stopped and did an activity (lunges, wall sits, crunches) ~ we concentrated on legs this morning and mine are weak! we both were walking with jello legs when we got done...and our laps were a lot slower the longer we went! <BR> <BR> I'm worried about TRX in the morning.... Adding in the cardio on the elliptical is going to be tough! I talked to Shawn and I only have to do 2 minutes.... I can do ... Mon, 11 Mar 2013 00:33:59 EST snowy Saturday - no road trip! :-) woke up to lots of snow and the trip got called off! <BR> fighting this cold... hoping it doesn't get worse... I have the scratchy throat and cough and my nose was running all over this morning ~ a little dayquil took care of the running though.... <BR> went to Steamboat and go new shoes for walking and Zumba, and a new pedometer since I got a good deal on the shoes :-) Then drove to Craig for lunch.... Sat, 9 Mar 2013 18:57:38 EST Friday & The Wii So I did sleep in this morning.... planned to go walk by myself, but slept in until the last possible minute... and then was still late to work (only by 2 minutes, but that technically is about 45 minutes late for me! lol!) <BR> so after I got off at noon, and we went and ate lunch at the Mexican restaurant... I came home and played on the Wii for 100 minutes! I did about 30 minutes on the Wii fitness and then the rest was bowling, tennis, golf and baseball! I was sweatin' up a storm :-) ... Fri, 8 Mar 2013 21:35:08 EST Week 2 down Finished my 2nd week of TRX today.... and I've worked out 4 days this week! Man am I exhausted! Like totally, completely, utterly, wiped out - kaput - beyond able to function... done! <BR> <BR> And yet, I feel rejuventated because I'm done with the weekly workouts and I made it through them... My body aches ~ which tells me I'm doing something right!!! <BR> <BR> It's a good thing that I have enlisted people to keep me accountable... because I know that I wouldn't have kept myself account... Funny that when I'm looking for a workout partner, there are none to be had.... but as soon as I go out and make arrangements for a "personal trainer"... everyone wants to butt in on my training! I got asked again this morning if someone could come in and workout with my trainer.... like really? i guess I should be flattered, but really, I set this up, so get your own! lol! I made it through 2 circuits of TRX this morning... and felt AWESOME afterwards! I'm not sore (we'll see if I can get out of bed in the morning! lol!) Doing so well, we are adding in the cardio on Thursday.... I may regret saying how great I feel! <BR> <BR> I'm also starting the walking with Rhonda in the morning... I looked up some 30 minute "routines" today, so have some ideas on how to keep things interesting! We have limited time in the morning, but we're gonna make this hap... So I made it through the first week - 2 days of TRX and 2 days of Zumba.... <BR> Then I had a down moment when a co-worker seeked me out to ask if she could come in and do TRX with me in the mornings.... I tried to explain to her how much I wanted to do this on my own and how much it took me to get to the point of asking for help from Shawn.... I just want to do this for myself... Day 1 down... and it felt pretty great while I was doing it! Now, an hour later... my back is killing me... my muscles are screaming and I'm thinking "What did I get myself into?" Mon, 18 Feb 2008 16:05:22 EST Survived Stock Show!!!! We went to Stock Show over the weekend... I survived! We had really messed up eating patterns... eating LATE Friday night, only eating breakfast Saturday, snacking more on Sunday because of not eating on Saturday. But I did workout in the motel on the treadmill on Friday night... and drank LOTS of water... When I stepped on the scale this morning, I'd only gained 1 pound since Friday morning! That could simply be "traveling weight" which I get every time I travel from water retention! ... Mon, 28 Jan 2008 12:11:12 EST 1 week down I'm one week in. I lost 3 pounds!!!
