It has flown by so fast. New friendships have been made and a lot has been learned. Now I need to plan for 8 weeks between BLC 21 and 22. Can I maintain the progress I have made? Will I continue to lose?

My plan for the next 8 weeks is to:
Continue to track my food on a daily basis.
Stay in my calorie range
Continue to drink at least 8 cups of water a day and track it, 194 <B... Mon, 1 Apr 2013 19:03:01 EST Merry Christmas I wish all my spark friends a Blessed Christmas and the joy of family and friends! Tue, 25 Dec 2012 10:41:33 EST WOO-HOO I am making progress! 104 My DH and I just spent 10 days away on a great vacation to Branson, MO. Ten days with no scale and no kitchen to prepare any meals. Six days in a car, with some exercise but not as much as I wanted. We ate out 3 times a day. I did pack safe snacks. We found a very nice buffet that served 3 meals a day. I said that this was not an option every day and my DH agreed. The best laid plans can fall apart. We ate a lot of breakfasts and dinners at this buffet. I was able to s... Fri, 5 Oct 2012 19:35:20 EST WooHoo!!!!!!!!!! I am Sparked!! I am excited!! Weigh in was today. I have finally lost 30 pounds. I never thought I could accomplish this. I have been heavy for years, probably most of my life. It really was not to bad until I had my daughter. The weight never seemed to leave, just increase. I did lose 25 pounds before I found SparkPeople, but I hit a plateau for a couple of years. With SP I discovered a whole new world of help. From nutrition to fitness to support to challenges to push me further th... Sat, 21 Jan 2012 13:46:07 EST Seven Months of Sparks Seven and a half months ago I found Sparkpeople. I had no idea what I was joining. What an education!! I discovered that tracking what I eat is VERY important. I love the fact that I do not have to research the calorie content of each food. Sparks makes this so easy,

I started to exercise. Exercise was always a bad word to me. Something to avoid at all costs. And yes there are costs that I paid, Overweight, high blood pressure and cholesterol. I love to swim or should I s... Sat, 31 Dec 2011 07:40:17 EST Stationary Biking 324 Stationary biking interests me because I can do it in my home without others around. Both my husband and I can use the bike. Well we treated ourselves to a stationary bike this month. It was put together on Sunday evening. Yes that is right, my husband put it together on Christmas evening! I have been on it every day since. Yes it is only 3 days, but it is 3 days of more exercise than I did before. My husband has also been on the bike each day. Together we will head int... Thu, 29 Dec 2011 19:17:07 EST Exercise Goals I avoid making goals especially on exercise. Ten minutes a day on most days could work for me. I didn't say I would lose weight on 10 minutes a day. Early last week I realized that if I worked in most than the 160 minutes each week, that I could reach at least 1000 minutes for this month. Now I am on a mission. I have a stationary bike that we put together this week. It has helped increase my exercise time dramatically! I know that I need to set goals to continue this in the coming mon... Wed, 28 Dec 2011 19:59:33 EST Goals I have never been good at writing down goals. I guess 7 months ago, when I joined SP, was the first time in a long time that I set a weight goal in writing. I am not quite on track, but I am not far off the projected time line. During the EOY challenge I kind of set a goal to be down to 200 pounds by the new year. I guess it may be possible but not likely since there is one week to go and 5 pounds. But I am close!! And I am happy about that. I would not be this close without SP and the ... Sat, 24 Dec 2011 14:22:48 EST Measurements Most of the time we measure our progress by our weight and the scale. Yes I am happy this week with the scale and my increased energy and stamina. So today I decided it was time to get the tape measure out and see what progress I have made. I have not done this since October. I was a little disappointed that the numbers did not go down more than they did. I know that I need to increase my cardio, so that may make a big difference when I measure in the next month or so. 311 <e... Sat, 24 Dec 2011 14:05:18 EST 4 Day Holiday Weekend 446 Today was my last day of work for 4 days! It was interesting today. There were not many people at work, only 5 or 6 in my section. I had holiday music playing. I found my self "dancing" in my chair. It felt great to be moving and sort of exercising while at work. The day went by fast, much to my surprise! Then I discovered that it got colder during the day. This evening my husband and I picked up the stationary bike that we ordered last week. We decided that we both ne... Fri, 23 Dec 2011 21:25:05 EST Why Join A Challenge? 220 223 Why should anyone join a challenge? I think that challenges encourage us to go beyond what we think we can do. They also give us a cheering team to encourage us to do more. We find out through messages that we have similar trials and stumbling blocks. We get ideas on how to over come these obstacles. It can be hard to find a way out of our own obstacles but it is easier to help someone else. As we help others we also help ourselves. Holiday time may not b... Sat, 17 Dec 2011 18:29:48 EST Energy 104 I have noticed that I have more energy than I had seven months ago. I can now walk up and down the 26 stairs to my office without getting out of breath. I feel a spring in my steps as well.

I am very active at my church especially this time of year. I used to come home on Sundays and take a nap in the afternoon. Now I still come home tired but after sitting for about an hour without a nap, I get up and feel like I had a nap, and have energy to to other things tha... Wed, 14 Dec 2011 19:49:27 EST TO BAKE OR NOT TO BAKE 471 Pies are a favorite in my house. I used to bake frequently. Pies cakes, cookies, we love all of them. They also create havoc with a healthy life style. I planned on baking last Friday but power shopping got in the way. It seemed so easy to bake when I was younger. There was also our daughter and family who helped eat the baked goods.

In recent years I slowed down on the baking. There is just my husband and I now and you can guess who eats most of the baked go... Mon, 12 Dec 2011 20:50:20 EST Christmas and Exercise How do Christmas and exercise go together? Well in the last few days I have logged more the 9000 steps per day with Christmas activities. There was power shopping yesterday. Four stores in 4 hours. A lot of walking. Last nigh was the wrap party that was a lot of fun. I got everything wrapped for children and grandchildren, church and work! I had help which was great!

Today was setting up the church for the children program tomorrow and rehearsals for the program. A lot of... Sat, 10 Dec 2011 18:00:27 EST Christmas Is A Coming! 446 I have 4 days off. Now do not think that I have nothing to do. Today I did 4 hours of power shopping. I was able to get all the gifts that I need for work and church. I even picked up a few items for my husband. Of course there were a few things for the children and grandchildren.
It was important to pick up these gifts today because there is a wrap party at church tonight. If you never heard of a wrap party (as I had not until a couple of years ago), this is where ... Fri, 9 Dec 2011 17:00:04 EST Weekend! This weekend I hope to decorate the house for Christmas. I still have Thanksgiving statues in the window. They really need to be put away. I love to see the angles in the window and have them lit in the evenings. The Christmas tree will have new decorations this year. We found blue and silver balls and birds. There will probably be some other colors, especially red birds. I hope that Sara, our cat, will stay out of the tree. I know that she likes to climb trees when she is outside. ... Fri, 2 Dec 2011 22:27:43 EST 6 month Sparkversary Today is 6 months since joining Spark People. It has been a very good 6 months. It started on my mother's birthday. I had had enough of the weight yo-yo issues. I knew that a sensible approach and healthy eating was the only way to lose weight and keep it off. With SP I started tracking my food intake and realized that I needed to also measure what goes on my plate. I started to see the weight go down. Not only was I losing weight but I was losing inches. Exercise is still a challenge... Sun, 13 Nov 2011 23:51:29 EST My Five Month Journey I have been a member of Sparkpeople for almost 5 month. In that time I have lost 22 pound. Pounds that wanted to stay where they were for the past 2 years. I have discovered that tracking my food intake is essential to my progress. Along with tracking my food I discovered that exercise was essential. exercise was a terrible word to me. Something that I did not want to do. Since I started in the spring, my pool was opening and I started to swim and tread water. I would treat water for ... Sat, 5 Nov 2011 20:00:00 EST Sparkpeople What has Sparkpeople done for me? I found this site through another site. A couple of weeks earlier I tried to enter another "free" diet site. The other site needless to say was not free. When you got to the diet they wanted money. My first clue that there would be an issue with that site was when they asked what my goal weigh was. Then they said "Oh no, this is what you should weigh".
So when I saw Sparkpeople, I thought "Yeah, right" , but something pushed me on to enroll. My ... Fri, 4 Nov 2011 20:48:15 EST Blogging - what is it? I have read blogs of others and enjoyed them. Some make me laugh and other teach. I never considered writing a blog until I was challenged to do so this week. I still do not know what a blog really is. I never thought of myself as a writer. Maybe you do not need to be a writer to blog. Maybe a blog is just putting your thoughts in writing. Well this is enough for today. Have a great day! 104 Thu, 3 Nov 2011 19:29:51 EST
