After running once I returned to my caffeinated, no-sleep, no exercise, night-eating life. Of course, I had the best of intentions to keep up the routine, but life gets in the way. HOWEVER:

- I play ultimate frisbee once a week
- I toss frisbee more often
- I frequently take long walks with Paul (love this one!)
- Ballroom dancing is keeping me on my toes!

Note: None of the above statements are justified excuses for being a lazy bum. I'm still lazy... Mon, 18 Jun 2012 00:24:47 EST Day 1: Success! This morning, I decided it would happen: Day 1 of my 5k training. I've always been incredibly self-conscious when exercising. When people see me struggling to jog for 30 seconds, I want to pretend I'm an ostrich and plunge my head under the sand. Unfortunately, there's not much sand nearby. So I just wouldn't exercise.

BUT

A couple nights ago, Paul and I were walking down an old closed-off road in the state park and trying to watch fireflies. Paul, the runner, mentioned ... Thu, 7 Jun 2012 01:36:31 EST On stress, shopping, and goldfish. Alright! I'm trying the stress relief challenge!

Today's stress level was actually pretty low. One of the aamazing things about feeling motivated- you spend money that way. Don't go to Target when you feel ambitious; I went on a 'Type A' rampage and scoured the offices supply aisles! So, I purchased:

A whiteboard. They're great for daily lists, and they're really fun for drawing pointless doodles when you're procrastinating from aforementioned lists.

Two black... Tue, 5 Jun 2012 01:40:46 EST Spark of hope? I found a great place to train for running today! Paul and I were walking down an old closed road at the local state park this evening. Paul is a runner, and he mentioned that the road would be a great place to train. Thus, starting in the morning, I plan to do just that: train on that road. I'm excited! Sun, 3 Jun 2012 23:58:17 EST Not the best example, here. This post will be brief: I completely lack self-control. Didn't exercise today, ate pizza and ice cream, and am not happy. The end. Sun, 3 Jun 2012 00:51:06 EST New frisbee adventures! One form of exercise that I actually enjoy is throwing a frisbee. My boyfriend Paul is very athletic, and he patiently tosses the frisbee with me almost daily. Today, after trying to eat 'organic burritos' (Lime, a restaraunt near his apartment, claims to have organic foods. Who knows if they're actually organic?), Paul surprised me. We stopped by Sports Authority after dinner, and we were on a mission. I'd like to state here that it is a miracle Paul even got me to walk into an athletic stor... Wed, 30 May 2012 13:03:58 EST Well, this is nifty :D Alright, first blog post! Woohoo!

You know what's really nifty, besides blogs? Glucometers! That sounds ridiculous, but it's true. Yesterday, my doctor gave me a new glucometer that I've never seen before. It's a Bayer Contour USB. This thing literally plugs into your computer like an oversized thumb drive, and it has programmed software that downloads your blood sugar reaedings so you can track them and print out records! I rushed home, ripped open the package, turned on my new g... Wed, 23 May 2012 11:18:55 EST
