I'm at my heaviest weight ever, and my clothes are just getting tighter and tighter.

Last week I learned that the Zumba instructor I've been going to for the last 4 years is moving. :( We had our last class on Wednesday. I've thoroughly enjoyed her class, and the women who attend it. Over the last year, our instructor had been cutting back on her classes (used to be 5 days a week), and when she did that, several of us got together to start walking. We're planni... Sun, 28 Sep 2014 18:04:06 EST Been a month already?! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5616715 Well looking at my last blog post, I realize it been more than a month since I blogged. I started off strong - for a little over a week, I was tracking my food and exercise. The SP Activity Tracker is certainly helping motivate me there, even if the counts are quite right. For some reason, almost every walk I do gets classified as a cycle event, so I have to reclassify, but its still motivating me. I've only forgot to put it on once since I got it.

I was doing great in at least sig... Thu, 6 Feb 2014 09:30:48 EST Back on the wagon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5581447 As I write this blog entry, I see that my last one was in September. And I see that entry was about the downward trend I saw on the scale.

The holidays and everything now have me at my heaviest. 195 according to my home scale. I am dreading going to the doctor's at the end of the month, as their scale will have me over 200.

Well its a new year, and time to reset. So far I've gotten my 8+ cups of water in 3 days in a row, and I've logged into SP each day since Jan 1. I al... Sat, 4 Jan 2014 00:46:20 EST Acknowledging it http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5490801 So I wrote the other day that I weighed myself the morning after the bike/run/Zumba/bike event, but that I wasn't going to count that weight.

Well that weight has now appeared on the scale twice more this week. So I've logged it. 188.

I do tend to weigh myself a lot. I just don't log it a lot. With my rotating work schedule, its hard to find the same time to weigh, and under the same conditions. For some people, when they weigh themselves a lot, it stresses them out. P... Fri, 20 Sep 2013 05:43:54 EST Its clicking like never before http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5489857 I honestly don't know why this time has been/is different.

There has been no major life epiphany.

But I am finding it easier. Its been 16 days now since I started logging in, spinning the wheel and tracking my food and exercise. I'm not always staying in my calorie range for the day, but I'm definitely doing a lot better than every before. And even better, I'm thinking about my food choices. Most importantly I'm thinking about them instead of just blindly going into the ... Thu, 19 Sep 2013 04:43:14 EST A great weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5486795 So yesterday's bike/run/zumba/bike went well.

I got up in plenty of time yesterday morning (thus the blog beforehand). Since I hadn't pre-registered, I still had an "out". But I didn't back out. I biked down to the park. I took it pretty easy, since I knew I had the run/walk to do. No line to register or to get my timing chip. Then I had about an hour to kill before the race started. I ended up seeing one of my Zumba instuctors there. She recently stopped holding classes at the Bl... Mon, 16 Sep 2013 01:21:16 EST Its working http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5485332 Otherwise I would not have gotten up at 5 am on my day off.

My husband and his friends are on Maui for the Hana Relay. I'm up early today to head to Kapiolani Park for the Recovery 5K - I didn't pre-register, so I have to go down this morning and register. Thus even though the race doesn't start til 7:30, I have to go down at 6/6:30. We'll see how it goes.

So I did the shirts for my husband and his teammates. They handed them out last night in the hotel room. Everybody l... Sat, 14 Sep 2013 11:46:29 EST Did it again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5484244 I'm definitely finding it easier this time around to stay within, or really close to my calorie goals. Not sure how I've managed to do it, but I've been a lot more conscious about when I'm eating the last few days. I know I'm an emotional eater and a distracted eater. I eat when I'm bored, I eat when I'm upset, I eat when I'm happy.

I went to by BFF's house last night for dinner and to finally meet her mom (her mom lives in ND so doesn't make it over to HI often!). We had a great ... Fri, 13 Sep 2013 04:15:38 EST avoided temptation again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5482127 Another day at work almost done, and I managed to avoid the candy jar yet again. Earlier I kept thinking I wanted a piece of chocolate, but I stopped and thought about it. I knew I wasn't hungry (had just had a foot long sub). And I knew I had already not had any for 2 night shifts.

Yea me!

On the downside I did eat a foot long sub. 860 calories. No I didn't check the nutrition count before going to get it. I pulled half out on my plate finished that, and then went back... Tue, 10 Sep 2013 22:41:13 EST Ramblings night 5 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5479280 Not exactly according to plan, but I still have positives to report, and that's what I'm going to stick with for tonights blog.

Yesterday's 24 hour period was my lowest in calories thus far since I started tracking again. Once again proving the point that if you are writing it down, you'll think twice about eating something you shouldn't.

I've now logged 5 days in a row, and am working on my 6th.

I avoided the candy jar on my night shifts.

I fina... Sun, 8 Sep 2013 08:48:23 EST Day (or rather night) 4 ramblings http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5478476 Ok - will continue this streak. I've logged in and spun the wheel the last 5 days. I've now tracked food and exercise for 4 days (didn't exercise on day 4, but was active around the house cleaning and crafting).

My first night shift is almost over and I think I've done well. I still went over my calories for the day, but it was the not as over as the other 3 days, so I am thinking first before I get food.

When I switch from days to nights, there is this off 24 hour perio... Sat, 7 Sep 2013 09:52:57 EST Day 3 - continuing to ramble http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5477356 Ok - I know this. I need to track and blog and be active in the SP community. That worked for me when I lost the 10-15 pounds (which I put back on). I have to keep at it to make this change.

So here I am again. I tracked my food. Made better choices today, but still not in the ranges yet. I'll get there. At least I'm tracking.

And I'm 1 cup away from 8 glasses of water. I know when I lost the weight before, my increase in water intake was a huge help. I still had more so... Fri, 6 Sep 2013 01:06:57 EST Day 2 Ramblings http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5476359 Once again didn't get as much done as I'd like, but I still got some stuff done.

I have tracked my food again today, and I definitely beefed up my veggie intake today, and my water intake. Still not within ranges, but getting closer.

Tonight was the Zumba class outside my door that I try really hard NOT to miss. It was warm tonight, but I pushed through it.

Made beef stew tonight - I love my mom's recipe. So between the stew today and the other food I made ye... Thu, 5 Sep 2013 02:59:44 EST Ramblings http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5475203 I've been off the radar for a while. And I'm once again back at my heaviest weight. I haven't been going to Zumba as much, and I'm definitely eating emotionally. I'm struggling trying to balance work, crafting, healthy lifestyle, cleaning and running the house.

I've been off the last several days, but I haven't done any exercise. Well aside from snorkeling the other day, but that's really not much (but was tons of fun). That's what happens when I have a long weekend (or really any ... Tue, 3 Sep 2013 23:46:57 EST A-Z About Me - from HEALTHYSLIM2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5366326 Since I read HEALTHYSLIM2's figured I better do it! :)

If you read it ... you have to do it :) ... have a little fun

A - Age: 39

B - Bed size: queen

C - Chore you hate: emptying the dishwasher (which is really stupid since it takes less than 5 minutes!)

D - Dog's name: none

E - Essential start your day item: caffeine (in the form of Diet Pepsi)

F - Favorite color: black

G - Gold or Silver: silver
<... Fri, 24 May 2013 04:15:56 EST Zumba and CF Walk http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5365697 I finally got back to Zumba last Thursday night for our toning class. My instructor is changing things up, so the toning class is not really Zumba Toning anymore, but rather a lot more toning. It is good, and we were all feeling it the next day. The next day (Friday) I biked to work, because it was National Bike to Work Day. So yea, I was a little sore for the weekend, but that's ok!

I had to work Monday and Tuesday night, so no class then. Got back to my Wed Zumba class last night... Thu, 23 May 2013 13:01:01 EST Getting back on track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5343917 As mentioned in my previous posts, this week has been emotionally trying. My friends funeral will be on Tuesday, and it's going to be at my parents church. Obviously I will not be going (HI to CT for 1 day, not worth it), but my parents are planning on attending. I also know several HS classmates who are still in the area will make it. The full obit is expected in Sunday's paper (I read the local paper online), so I'll make some time Sunday before my night shift to read it at home.
<BR... Fri, 3 May 2013 02:17:33 EST My friend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5341494 Sunday evening was rough, and the days since have had their trying times. My friend who passed away the other day has always been symbol of where my life could have gone. And I think that's why his death is having such an impact on me.

He was my first boyfriend, but we were friends. Before, and eventually afterwards. No doubt that how I broke up with him was not the best (I was a young teenager, what can I say). As we went off to college, like many of my high school friends, we so... Wed, 1 May 2013 04:16:08 EST Rough week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5340819 The past week has been rough emotionally. Don't want to go into much now, but I do find that if I write something down, then I force myself to follow up.

About a week ago, a high school classmate was reported missing by his parents in Florida. He's had his issues over the years, and on Sunday, just a a few days after the missing person report, he was found dead. I was home when I learned the tragic news (and we don't know much else right now), but had to work Monday and today. I'm ... Tue, 30 Apr 2013 13:40:31 EST Starting over...again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5325438 Well since I wrote last, I have started focusing on my water intake and tracking. Got to start small. And I've done well. Sunday ended up being an off day, but I did walk with my husband to breakfast, and I did have water for breakfast. Just didn't drink that much after that. And on Monday, I didn't meet my water goal. But I'm already through 2 glasses today, and I've been tracking my food - going over my goals, but at least I'm tracking.

Yesterday of course was an emotional day. M... Tue, 16 Apr 2013 16:12:50 EST Stress - obviously not handling it well http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5319245 I didn't realize how much I've let things slip until recently. I lost my cool at work. While most of my points were valid, I didn't handle it well at all.

The last week or so, I've been doing a lot of thinking.

On the down side:
I haven't been happy.
I am frustrated with a number of work issues.
I do have a lot on my plate at work, particularly with this one large project that I am heading.
I'm not devoting the resources I need to for the CF walk on... Thu, 11 Apr 2013 06:26:28 EST March already? Eeeks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5275469 Well, March has snuck up on me. And so has our first trip of the year.

Early last week, I woke up to a crink in my neck. And its been bothering me to some extent since. I've had heating pads on it, taken it easy, done some stretches, etc. I suspect stress is a factor. At least my 1 week vacation should help out there! But more on that in a bit.

I've slacked on most things lately. With my neck, I didn't feel up to going to my toning classes, and only made it to 1 Zumba cl... Wed, 6 Mar 2013 07:47:48 EST GAR 2013 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5256369 Another GAR (Great Aloha Run) is done. I'm feeling it this morning, but I'm definitely bouncing back faster than I did the first few times I did it.

This was my 11th GAR. Hard to believe I've been doing it since 2003. I looked up my times from past years, and my times vary quite a bit. My best time was last year at 1:43:18. My worst was a few years ago when I did it in 1:53:23. This year I did it in 1:51:25.

I know I was running a lot more consistently before the race l... Tue, 19 Feb 2013 15:18:50 EST off the wagon again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5253284 While I have continued to work out (most days), I fell off my water intake and tracking again. Ugg. After logging in just about every day in January, I'm stumbled again.

This past week was a bit hectic. Monday I went to the "new" Zumba class. Its not my favorite, but given that the instructor is willing to help me put on a Zumbathon to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Walk, I feel an obligation. This particular class is a bit more hip-hop than I would like. Its also co-taught a... Sun, 17 Feb 2013 06:46:45 EST A band geek, geeking out http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5242325 Ok - I've fallen off on my water again. I admit it. I know not getting enough sleep is a big factor. I will do better tomorrow.

Ok - I've talked about the walk for Cystic Fibrosis that I'm sort of spear heading. Well we were contact by a local company who helps to organize band trips to Hawaii. They have an orchestra that will be visiting the week of our walk, and they want to perform! Its a school in Ohio - which just happens to be the state where my nephew Drew lives!

... Fri, 8 Feb 2013 02:08:21 EST Jazzercise and Zumba and CF http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5239641 I went to my first Jazzercise class tonight. I had purchased a 10 class groupon a couple months back, but I hadn't yet found the time (ok - made the time) to go check it out. Finally did tonight, since the groupon needed to be activated soon. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but it ended up being similar to my usual Zumba class. Maybe not quick as intensive for as long, but it was definitely a good workout. I have 9 more classes to attend in the next 6 months, so we'll see how I feel aft... Wed, 6 Feb 2013 01:53:24 EST Nights and purging http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5233655 Well I'll be going in for my second night shift tonight. Its nice only working 2 nights in a row - I often get into a cleaning/purging mode between the nights. And this time is no different.

There will be an e-waste recycling event tomorrow at Kahala Mall from 8am - 2pm. Its amazing how much electronic waste we've accumulated over the years. We knew better than to just throw it out, but that also means its been building up in the corners and closets of our condo unit. We've got 3 s... Fri, 1 Feb 2013 19:14:20 EST I ran it! Whoo-hoo! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5225883 Well this morning was my 5K run for the Epilepsy Foundation. Its a tough course - lots of hills. BUT I RAN IT ALL! It took me 41:40, but I ran/jogged the whole thing. Still can't believe I did it.

Now off to the Pro Bowl. More later. Sun, 27 Jan 2013 17:01:50 EST My body is amazing http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5222479 I ran another 5K straight tonight! Whoo-hoo!

It was slower than my run on Monday, but I did it without stopping. Today was a roughly 14 minute mile, but who cares! I was able to maintain a steady pace!

On Tuesday, I did some interval running. Hate that, but I know intervals and hills are necessary if I am going to see a change in my running.

Tomorrow night I'll go to my usual Zumba class. Then Saturday I have to work, and I'll take it easy Saturday night. Th... Fri, 25 Jan 2013 01:39:47 EST I ran 5K! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5217989 I'm still trying to come to grips with the fact that I ran 3.15 (so actually just a bit longer than a 5K which is 3.1) STRAIGHT!

If I have done that before, its been ages. The last few months, despite having some 5K races and a few more races coming up, I haven't been running. I continue to go to my Zumba classes, so I know I'm getting my cardio in. Well tonight, there was no Zumba class. I had given thought to checking out the cycling studio near me, but given that I'll be partici... Tue, 22 Jan 2013 02:58:29 EST Can only blame myself http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5213359 I was running a little late this morning, but I got to Hawaii Kai before the class started. Unfortunately because I got there just before class started, I was pretty much limited to standing in the direct sun. Not good for someone of Irish descent. I stuck it out through about 55 minutes. About the last 15 minutes I found some shade in a palm tree. Yea - you can imagine how much shade that produced. I wasn't thrilled with the location. It was outside which was nice, but shaded areas are limit... Fri, 18 Jan 2013 17:13:09 EST tonight is better, but not the best http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5210957 I'm in a slightly better mood tonight. I did get a good "night" sleep right after my first night shift. And it certainly helps that I remembered my iPod touch tonight. Listening to some Les Mis broadway soundtrack now. :)

I'm definitely looking forward to my time off the next several days. I am going to be coming back to the office on Saturday, but its to give a tour of the office to some friends I know through the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It'll also serve as the time for us to ... Thu, 17 Jan 2013 02:27:38 EST apparently stressed http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5209397 I'm either really stressed or really woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Either this morning or after my pre-night shift nap.

Was awoken this morning at 4am to police sirens and gun shots. Police sirens, not a big deal - however when all was said and done, we were talking probably 30 cop cars. And shootings? That was definitely a new one. Police apparently shot at someone driving dangerously after he failed to stop, drove the wrong way, attempted to run over officers and then was... Wed, 16 Jan 2013 03:12:05 EST and it was... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5205145 The SP DVD that I bought months ago but hadn't used yet!

After my 12 hour shift yesterday, I went home, put dinner in the oven, changed into some workout clothes, went into the spare room and fired up the DVD. I did the warm up, the Cardio Burst and then half of the Cardio and Toning. So total I probably did about 25 minutes of working out. I should have done more, but I was happy that I actually did something. Its really easy after a 12 hour shift to not do anything.

I... Sun, 13 Jan 2013 14:27:20 EST water to 8 servings! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5203717 I finally got 8 servings of water in yesterday! Been the first time in ages I did that! Whoo-hoo! Now I have to concentrate on doing it again today.

I misplaced one of my favorite water bottles recently. And I think I've been using that as a crutch the past week as to why I wasn't drinking my water. Last night before Zumba, I grabbed an older water bottle, and my SP cup, filled them up and off to class I went. I had already had more than half my water yesterday, but this helped for... Sat, 12 Jan 2013 14:15:44 EST Les Miserables...times gone by http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5196255 So last night I took off from work a little early (about 30 minutes) so that I could join a bunch of friends who wanted to see Les Miserables. I have tried to avoid seeing/reading too much about the movie. My husband and his mom also went - I didn't force my husband to go, which is good, because he really did not like it! So at least he can't "blame" me for making him go! LOL!

But anyway, onto my somewhat review and things I've learned. And fair warning that my interpretation/thoug... Tue, 8 Jan 2013 02:40:25 EST Wicked! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5191773 So we took my MIL to see Wicked Thursday afternoon. It was our second time seeing it - DH and I saw it here in Honolulu shortly after it opened, and then we figured MIL would enjoy it.

The first time we went, we sat in the balcony, this time we sat closer. In part because we were closer, and partly because we were already somewhat familiar with the story and songs, of course we picked up more parts of both. At the first performance we went to, DH bought the CD - he liked it that mu... Sat, 5 Jan 2013 15:06:07 EST Better prepared for tomorrow's shift http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5191012 Tonight I went to Zumba - was a tough workout (been off for about 2 weeks), and I know I'll be really feeling it in the morning. But it was great!

Then afterwards I picked up some food for dinner from Chili's. I selected a "healthy" option. While the food was getting ready, I went over to Whole Foods so I could get some healthy stuff to bring to work tomorrow. I have tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, feta cheese, nalo greens, mushrooms, bread, and chicken vegetable soup. Now to make a qu... Sat, 5 Jan 2013 02:18:39 EST 2 days tracking food http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5189339 Well almost a full 2 days in a row I've tracked my food. I know my decisions have not been well. I'm actually pretty fortunate that I haven't put on more weight. I have over the course of the year put back on almost all I had lost the year before. But I didn't get back heavier than I was, so that a positive. And through the holidays, my weight stayed pretty steady. Phew.

I know a large part of that has been that my commitment to my Zumba class has been consistent - if I was off wor... Fri, 4 Jan 2013 01:51:28 EST Always seems like it'll be a better time next week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5187462 I know I need to commit to things better. But its sooo easy to come up with the excuse to wait.

"My MIL is in town - when she leaves next week I can get back into the routine."
"I'm on night shifts, so I should give myself a break - nights are hard."
"We don't go to x restaurant often so getting something not so healthy will be ok."
"Just one cookie won't be bad."

My MIL is still in town for another week. I haven't been planning meals and I need to. I nee... Thu, 3 Jan 2013 04:08:30 EST Do what works for you http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5183774 I'm up early this morning to start the new year. I had to be - I'm working today. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Despite my not getting a lot of sleep last night, I'm feeling refreshed, and ready to re-commit.

With that in mind, I logged into SP and spun the wheel. Something I haven't done in a while. Then I logged my McDonald's breakfast. I know it not the healthiest, but it was that or no breakfast. And I did track it - another thing I haven't done in a while. Then I pu... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 12:11:48 EST Merry Christmas...and I need some sleep http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5176136 I know I've been overeating on my last couple of shifts. And I know I'm doing it because I'm tired. I hope to get some better/more sleep before my 2 night shifts.

My MIL arrived on Saturday. She was supposed to arrive last Thursday, but the snow in Kansas City thwarted those plans. The flights on Saturday were uneventful for her, and that delay meant that instead of running around crazy on Thursday doing the final things, I got to spend Thursday, Friday and Saturday getting things... Tue, 25 Dec 2012 21:35:51 EST Purging bug http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5170336 Over the last several months, I have been spending my "down" time cleaning/purging/organizing the craft room/spare bedroom. Mostly because my MIL is coming to spend the Christmas holiday with us (she arrives Thursday for 3 weeks). It definitely needed to be done, so the deadline of my MIL's visit is definitely the push I needed to get it done.

There were a few boxes of things I would find that had my husband's stuff in it. I finally started moving that to the computer room, which i... Tue, 18 Dec 2012 17:02:24 EST Better 5k, but now feeling cruddy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5168149 So I forgot that we had signed up for the IHS Homeward Bound 5K that was today. I had been planning on attending the GAR in training sessions at Kapiolani Park, but then remembered the 5K. So we got up at 6am, got ready and headed into Manoa for the race.

IHS is the Institute of Human Services - they run a few shelters for the homeless and do lots of outreach. Its a local organization here that we support financially, so we do like doing the 5K. Its a tough course since its back i... Sun, 16 Dec 2012 13:54:01 EST Zumba with an audience http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5163909 I've been wanting to post this blog for over 24 hours - so here it goes.

On Monday's, my Zumba/Zumba toning class is held at the school right outside my condo. We can't have class on the 1st Monday of the month, because the community garden club has been meeting there on the 1st Monday for years. No problem. My instructor just doesn't teach the class on the 1st Monday. We gladly accepted this arrangement if it meant that we could have class on Monday's the rest of the month.
... Wed, 12 Dec 2012 02:49:37 EST Been a while - need to get back on this horse http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5159632 I'm a lot of talk lately. I have to stop talking and start doing.

I did finally email the letter to my dad, and he responded today. It was a nice response, but didn't really address some of the issues I raised. But I do have the sense that he heard me, and hopefully will back off on some of the inherit guilt about chosing a path different than his.

His letter included 2 more of my parents friends who are dealing with serious conditions. One has cancer, and I'm not sure a... Fri, 7 Dec 2012 20:44:41 EST family drama I don't need http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5148870 Overall I consider myself fortunate that I have a great family that loves to spend time together. We're spread out across the country from the East coast to Hawaii, so we don't get together as often as we'd like.

But of course there is that 1 family member that brings the drama, or should I say the Drama to the party.

I finally polished off and sent the email letter I blogged about a couple weeks back to my father. I worked til midnight last night, came home and in the q... Tue, 27 Nov 2012 21:38:34 EST Thanksgiving http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5143622 I have a lot to be thankful for. I have a wonderful family, wonderful in-laws, my airshow family, and great friends. I am working towards a healthier me.

I have 15 nieces and nephews, who are all in good health. Even Drew my nephew with Cystic Fibrosis is relatively healthy right now.

I got to Skype with about half my family today. I may still hear from some others. But that half included my parents and 3 of my siblings, their spouses. 3 of the nieces/nephews were napp... Thu, 22 Nov 2012 17:47:22 EST a new start http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5139944 For the first time in a very long time I met my water goal of 8 glasses of water. Yea!

And I just entered all the food I ate today (pretty sure I remembered it all), and I managed to stay within my caloric range! Yea!

Now I know I didn't eat the best - I mean 350 calories worth was on chocolate things from the office candy jar. But its a start.

Tomorrow I'll be biking to work, so that I can go straight to Zumba toning afterwards. I should have an easier time ... Mon, 19 Nov 2012 01:32:53 EST the run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5138714 yuck. That about sums it up.

The race was out on the dry side of the island. Unfortunately it didn't remain dry today. It was definitely a small run - maybe 300 participants? We got out there nice and early (see earlier blog). My husband stretched (he will not listen to me and does all sorts of stretches while his muscles are still "cold"). I walked around a bit to loosen up. Our 2 friends show up (they are doing a half marathon tomorrow, and both will be doing the marathon next m... Sat, 17 Nov 2012 20:17:56 EST
