MMILLER139's SparkPeople Blog MMILLER139's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Thanks To Fellow Sparkers! The BEST "fast-food" tips I got : pre-sliced/packaged fruits and veggies. (My daughter kept getting into the pre-sliced apples today, I think she ate about four packs, which is SO AWESOME) We LOVE THOSE! SO convenient! And the lean cuisine/smartones/healthy choice frozen meals. Here I am, eating more than I thought I would, and still staying within all my ranges. I went over on nothing today! I was under on protein, potassium, and magnesium... but that seems to be a given for me. I'm just pro... Sun, 13 Apr 2014 02:05:35 EST So, I can't think of a title? Tomorrow I am starting fresh. So, I probably didn't pick the best day to do so considering; I have to fast, and skip breakfast for blood-work in the morning; I am staying up all night so that I will make it to said appointment in the morning (hence the extra time I have to update my Spark Page and write this blog.) I am over-educating myself with SP related data, and making a grocery list with suggestions from fellow sparkers, and probably then over-educating myself some more, before getting ... Fri, 11 Apr 2014 02:53:06 EST I'm too busy for this! I am a single full-time mom, full-time student, and full-time employee...who is also caring for a disable parent...full-time... so that's what? full-time x4? Yeah. I don't have time to measure anything, or cut anything up, let alone COOK something. If anyone knows of some good foods that are satisfying, that I can just grab off the shelf that would be great. OK. I know apples, bananas etc. I'm not a total tard. But some variety would be nice, otherwise, I will answer the call from McDonald's ... Sat, 5 Apr 2014 02:14:27 EST Checking in after a LONG time. Hi there! Anybody even remember me? I think I last logged on to SP a good 4 mos ago. It has definitely been put on the back burner while I focus on my studies. I finished off the semester with a 4.0! And will be inducted into Phi Theta Kappa very soon! I have put on a little more weight, but started going to the school gym four days a week as of 2 weeks ago. Only lost 3 lbs so far. I still love McDonald's, I don't think that is going anywhere any time soon. My little girl turned two in Decem... Wed, 12 Feb 2014 19:22:31 EST FOUND SOME SPARE MOMENTS Things are going great with school. I will probably make the Dean's list and be invited to Phi Theta Kappa. I am considering changing my major though, to Bachelor of Science in Applied Nutrition specializing in Dietics. I will have to eventually transfer because this school doesn't offer that program, but I will be able to take some courses that are transferable. I would like to eventually further that with an Associates in Applied Science in Fitness Management, another program not offered he... Many are short, some are longer, but maybe you'll learn a new move that is perfect for you!

I'm ready! Mon, 19 Aug 2013 09:59:05 EST I did half okay today. Stayed within my calorie range... until the baby went to bed... and then I grabbed about 5 mini powdered donuts and shoved them in my mouth before I could even think about it, and blew the calories..... I don't feel too entirely bad about that compared to how I was eating over the weekend. I didn't drink any water today.... milk and diet soda were my beverages of choice.

I exercised today. Went for a 20 minute stroller walk. Also, trying to teach Trinity the Hokey Pokey. That put... Tue, 13 Aug 2013 20:37:50 EST Here I am. I've been slacking. But tomorrow morning I am starting fresh.... again. I have just had so much going on with the school crap, the baby being sick and then getting hives from the antibiotic (which are now tiny bruises all over her), plus I am doing an infant homeschooling with her that is pretty time consuming, and I am having money issues. I am also trying to quit smoking, and sitting in front of a computer screen makes me want to smoke. So does typing that out. I know, excuses, excuses, rig... Tue, 13 Aug 2013 00:09:00 EST BLC #19 (WUB?) So, tomorrow starts the Biggest Loser Challenge #19. And while I am already doing the Summer 5% Challenge, I think I will be able to do two at once. No more though, I might get overwhelmed. Here are the Challenges and Goals for the BLC#19 :

Week 1

Main Challenge
Introduce Yourself!!! 248 Writing on walls 248 , sending SparkMails, or sending Goodies, introduce yourself to at least 5 of your teammates and 3 players from another team. Don't for... Sat, 10 Aug 2013 22:03:14 EST Comme si, comme ca Had a so-so day. Started off having to ask my mom for help with my bills. I just love how she gives me a hard time about it, like I really enjoy asking her for money in the first place, she just makes the experience so much better. Took Trinity on her first trip to the library. She was in heaven. When she walked in her eyes were so huge, she was astounded by how many books were in one place. It was like an amusement park to her. She loved it! We checked out a few books and I signed her up for... Sat, 10 Aug 2013 00:13:06 EST Good things at the Farmer's Market. I went to the Farmer's Market today and got some good fresh tomatoes and red potatoes from the local Mennonites. Talked to the representative of the local fruit farm to see when would be a good time to take Trinity there to pick our own apples. I thought that would be a fun thing for her to do. Then I met this guy. He seemed like someone from the mafia. An older man, very well put together, with a gold chain and a suit jacket. His name was David Vince. I got to talking with him and burst out ... Wed, 7 Aug 2013 14:35:05 EST So much for furthering my education. :( Started out the morning with a healthy breakfast. Went to an Adult Reboot Group at my friend's church. Took the little one with me and she cried the whole time. Came home and ate a healthy lunch. Dropped baby at sitter's. Went to LPN Orientation, Wanna know how that went? It didn't. I got no more than two feet in the door and they turned me away. Yeah, they wait until AFTER I take the test to see if I am able to get financial assistance, AFTER I take and pass the entrance exam, AFTER I pay a ... Tue, 6 Aug 2013 18:05:07 EST On a roll. Stayed within calories, got all my water in. Exercised A LOT today.

Busted out 30 push ups with the ball and 30 crunches with a twist and then went to the dentist first thing in the a.m. And don't ya know, he comes in and just starts drilling. No novacaine or anything. It didn't hurt though. Actually, I think the shot hurts more than the filling, so I kind of preferred it. Then I went and put in 4.5 hours of gardening at two of the houses I do. Stopped and got gas, picked up the li... Mon, 5 Aug 2013 18:08:40 EST My Animated Before and After Pictures Sun, 4 Aug 2013 16:26:31 EST I did good today I think. Today, I stayed within my calories, tracked all my food, got all my water in, and exercised. I also went and got some groceries and took care of one of the houses that I do. So why don't I feel like I accomplished anything? I guess compared to most recent events, this was a pretty slow day. I just feel like I should have done more. An off day is just so unusual for me lately. And since I feel like I didn't get anything done today, I feel like eating to fill that void. But, I won't. I cannot d... Sat, 3 Aug 2013 22:05:34 EST Another busy day! Woke up, breakfast and medicines for me and little one. Mom picked up the baby this morning, she asked me if I needed a night to relax and she would love to keep her all night. I agreed. (But I am not relaxing, I am cleaning like nobodies business!) After she left with Trinity, I went to run some errands. What is with the 1st of the month when everybody is in my way? Dropped off rent, stopped in convenience store to grab a bottle of water because I forgot to bring one with me, stopped at bank... Thu, 1 Aug 2013 19:36:52 EST On top of the world!! I lost 8 lbs in a week!! I lost 8 lbs in a week?? Really? I jumped on the scale 3 extra times this morning just to be sure it wasn't joking with me. I can't even hardly believe it. Then pointed at the scale and said "You'd better not be f*ck*ng lying to me. I will crush you." I joined the Summer 5% Challenge that started Saturday, but I have always weighed in on Wednesdays so I just kept it at that. So, my 5% goal for September 27th was to lose 11 pounds...only 3 lbs to go... looks like I am ... Wed, 31 Jul 2013 10:23:59 EST Visiting daddy. Mon, 29 Jul 2013 20:14:52 EST Teaser photo of Trinity! :) Sat, 27 Jul 2013 22:16:39 EST Busy busy busy...stressed and amazed. These last few days have been long and wonderful and draining and amazing. I figured I might as well come out with it. I never thought I would be the one to say this ever in my life but, my baby's daddy is in prison. He left me when I was three months pregnant, so it was a very grueling process trying to find him. And then we had to go through a paternity suit because I was four months pregnant when he went in, so he didn't believe she was his, considering she is a year and a half old now, it... Thu, 25 Jul 2013 17:52:45 EST Did...kind of okay today. Okay, I started my day WITHOUT a nutritious and healthy breakfast. Went to take care of my sweet 90 yr old man. Got some exercise in there too, because he sent me up and down the steps half a million times for each thing he forgot to take with him. Took him out to K-mart, he got a belt (apparently the 4 we bought AND tried on last week at Wal-mart were "too damn big"), I got my shoes for nursing school, stopped in Giant Eagle, while he sat outside on the bench pestering two teenage girls abou... Fri, 19 Jul 2013 00:50:42 EST I hate to do this, but I am breaking up with you.... on SparkPeople. It is obvious that I am doing okay with the exercise aspect of SP. But I do need a boost on the nutrition. If anyone would like to send me more positivity about not getting to eat that slice of pizza and passing on that delicious cheeseburger and fries, I would greatly appreciate it. I feel like I am losing my best friend sometimes when I have to say no to those things. Like, "Sorry, Mr. Yummy, we had some good times, and you tasted delightful, I really do enjoy your company, in fact I think ... Woke up. Went to visit my Aunt and played outside with Trinity while there for a few hours. Then went to get Trinity's last shot until Kindergarten! I parked as far as possible from the building! Woo! She cried, but I took her to DQ and got her and myself a sugar free nonfat fudge bar (50 calories) and she seemed to forget it ever happened. Went for a walk after dinner, 3.46 miles!!! I am very proud of myself, and it wasn't even that challenging, it was actually enjoyable. On the way back I ... Thu, 11 Jul 2013 20:42:20 EST Very productive day. What a great day! Had a good breakfast, NutriGrain waffle with a little butter, apple juice, and chocolate pudding. Baby had same thing but yogurt instead of pudding. and then took the old man out. He is so spry for 90! We went to Wal-mart and he got some new belts and his hair cut, I got a case of bottled water. Then we went to McDonald's, I had a Ceaser Salad with grilled chicken and low-fat balsamic dressing, a fruit and yogurt parfait, and a sugar free vanilla iced coffee (and that is act... Tue, 9 Jul 2013 20:13:32 EST Maybe I was just too hot? So. Today I didn't meet my calorie goals until the very end. I wasn't at all hungry throughout the day. I had a pretty good breakfast of Cheerios with milk, apple juice, and a spoon of peanut butter. But then I had to force myself to eat a handful of watermelon and puffed rice chips for lunch. I didn't exactly drink enough water (only one bottle) while working in the heat of the yard for 5 hours. I wasn't hungry by dinnertime either, although I did have a massive headache. So I ate dinner and... Mon, 8 Jul 2013 21:49:10 EST Today, I DID IT! Stayed within my calorie range. Walked to two different parks and played on the swings. Cleaned house and did a little gardening. All thanks to the motivation of my fellow Sparkers! My days off are so much easier to keep on track. I am near a computer, and away from outside influences (food pushers). A good day all in all. 334 Sun, 7 Jul 2013 21:40:24 EST Falling off the boat again. Some days I just don't care. I don't give a crap about my health or what I am eating. I want to eat something really bad, I want to eat what everyone else around me is eating. Today is one of those days. I had three slices of pizza for dinner. Way too many calories, but at the time, I didn't care. I was enjoying it. I still don't care as I am writing this, I ate something yummy, it was great. I will probably care tomorrow. I don't weigh myself after a day like this because I already know what... Sat, 6 Jul 2013 18:51:48 EST How I survived The 4th of July. I did very well today! We woke up late after a restless night, so I only had an orange for breakfast, which gave me a lot of leftover calories for later. Had a glass of nonfat milk and a Lean Cuisine lasagna for lunch. For the big dinner I brought my own pretty much. I made the barbecue pulled chicken from with whole wheat buns and measured out my own beforehand, everyone really enjoyed it, and I left the leftovers there, because it is so good I didn't want to bring it home a... Thu, 4 Jul 2013 20:53:32 EST Another slip. It's always at dinner time! The end of the day, after staying on track throughout, I am tired and I want junk food! Or, fast food! Or, any food I do not have to do anything to prepare, just eat. The past few times I have done this, I have only gone 100 or so over on my calorie range,. I don't know why I am so disappointed in myself today. All the other times I told myself that before Spark People it would have been 1000. I th... Wed, 3 Jul 2013 16:08:09 EST So, so tired, but I did it! I stayed on point with calories and everything today. Did 4 hours of yard work. Now I am just feeling worn out so I am taking my snack to bed with me. Hopefully it was worth it today. Tue, 2 Jul 2013 21:08:13 EST A little off track today. So I did good all day. Then I went to Bob Evan's with the little one, went 107 over on my calories and 300 on my sodium. But, I think before I started this, I probably would have been 1000 over on everything, so I am not too too disappointed in myself. Plus we zipped through the grocery store at a high rate of speed for about 30 minutes, so I am counting that as exercise. Not looking for the scale to move in the morning, but I will be happy if it does. 489 Mon, 1 Jul 2013 20:04:01 EST Lose some pounds and gain...something else So today I lost two pounds and gained my period... I am happy about the weight loss but I just feel so drained. I did not leave the house today because I feel like blah. I only got 15mins of exercise at home. I did, however, try to spread the Spark via text message to family and friends about my 5 lb weight loss and all the perks of Spark People. They didn't seem as excited as me, many of them thought it was a spam text message ha ha. Maybe when I am 90 lbs lighter they will listen.. 10... Sun, 30 Jun 2013 19:51:55 EST Another decent day. Today I had a healthy breakfast of orange juice, 3 mini pancakes, and Greek yogurt. Then, instead of sitting/laying on the couch and putting cartoons on and some toys out, I went for a 20 minute stroller walk. That is the first time in a very long time that I have done anything remotely active in the a.m.. I am usually very very sluggish in the morning. I guess all these veggies and water are doing something. I didn't sleep all that well last night either because I kept getting up to pee. Ho... Sat, 29 Jun 2013 21:28:24 EST So proud of myself today! I did awesome on my calories today! I hit everything within the limits, except for protein, I was -1 on that. And I was way off on magnesium and potassium, but that's been a given since I started. I even got my 5 servings of vegetables! Being at home all day makes things a heck of a lot easier. And I wish that these thunderstorms would just stop coming so I can get to take some stroller walks! Oh, and, remember my scale broke? Well I completely forgot that I had a Wii Fit (that's how lazy I h... Fri, 28 Jun 2013 17:40:37 EST Yep, that family get together killed me. The only veggies were green beans. :( And although I probably ate 1/4 of what everyone else ate, I still blew my calories out of the water. Tomorrow I will try harder. Today I just disappointed myself greatly, I don't want that to happen again. 15 Thu, 27 Jun 2013 21:09:43 EST Not. Cool. I got on my scale this morning only to find that the baby broke it when she was playing with it yesterday. Looks like I won't be weighing in for a while because I literally don't have two nickles to rub together to buy a new one. And that one was BRAND new...and kinda fancy. So irked! Thu, 27 Jun 2013 09:13:42 EST This is going to be tough. So, it's 1am and I am still up playing on Spark People all night. I wanted to write this blog before I head to bed for about 6 hours of sleep. Breakfast will be easy tomorrow to try and follow the Spark plan on the nutrition tracker. But then there's lunch... On Thursday's I take my 90 year old friend out, and he ALWAYS chooses to go to McDonald's, I entered in my nutrition tracker what I will have already, trying to make healthy choices, but come on, it's McDonald's, and if I have a side sal... Thu, 27 Jun 2013 01:23:46 EST Starting to Blog, Hoping for Support. Hi. I'm Marci. 27 years old with an 18 month old daughter. I have been overweight for most of my life. Been with SP for about a month, I lost 6 lbs in the first weeks, gained it back, lost 4 lbs, gained it back. I wasn't using the community tools. Last night I was fishing through Spark Pages of people who have had great success on the program. I noticed that most of them kept a daily blog and had lots of support from community members. I have not talked with anyone else using SP yet, so I fig... Wed, 26 Jun 2013 23:01:57 EST
