I just have to keep doing what I'm supposed to be doing, keep up with the exercise a watch what I eat. My goal right now is to get down to 165. After I get there I'll work on getting a bit farther down to a healthy weight. Fri, 28 Feb 2014 10:52:03 EST Still going backwards http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5630758 Been busy taking care of my renter due to cataract surgery. Haven't been doing the exercise or counting the calories like I should be doing. Not getting out and doing the line dancing as often because they've cut back on how many times a week we're dancing. Now that it's warming up again I can get back to my walking and maybe start bike riding. I want to go forward with the weight loss not backwards like I seem to be continually doing lately. Sat, 22 Feb 2014 10:48:06 EST Snow is gone finally http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5623856 Will be great to get outside and do things again. Need to wait until the ground gets a little bit firmer. We are now having rain so hopefully no flooding. This has been a crazy winter and hard to get outside to do anything. I am heading in the right direction weight wise again, so that part is good anyway. Fri, 14 Feb 2014 10:36:45 EST Winter http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5617800 I'm getting really tired of the snow, ice and cold. Makes joints hurt and harder for me to do the things I need to do for weight loss. Seems I'm going in the wrong direction weight wise again. Will have to work harder and find indoor things I can do and then make myself do them. Fri, 7 Feb 2014 11:39:53 EST Fun summer http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5443188 I've been enjoying myself so much with the kayaking, line dancing, quilting and just relaxing that I didn't even realize I was toning up and even losing a bit weekly. I haven't had this much summertime fun since I lost my hubby. I'm glad I met these ladies that are teaching me so many new things to enjoy. Sat, 3 Aug 2013 11:32:16 EST Kayaking http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5408707 My line dance teacher invited me to go kayaking with her Sunday night. I agreed to go. This was my first time kayaking and I learned a lot in just a short time, including a lot about myself. We went out on a local lake, winds were blowing and helped us along towards the goal where we'd be turning around and coming back to the dock. The winds increased and I stopped about 1/4 mile from where the other 2 turned around. While waiting for them the wind actually turned my kayak around. I just kept... Tue, 2 Jul 2013 15:10:21 EST Weight Roller Coasters http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5387788 I'm still on that one. I lose a lb, then gain a lb. At least I'm still below 200 and that works for me. I'll keep working on it and keep losing a little here and a little there. Perhaps by next summer I'll get to my ideal weight. I know when I get some more of this off my joints will start feeling a lot better. Thu, 13 Jun 2013 08:58:32 EST WooHoo http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5372411 I've made it past my first goal. That one was to get my weight below 200. I've gotten there finally. Now for the next goal, my ideal weight. I know if I keep watching what I eat, keep up the line dance (good cardio) then I'll eventually make it. Warm weather coming up so will be eating a lot more salads again. 198 Thu, 30 May 2013 10:21:52 EST Slow Downs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5294917 I notice I lose a lb or 2 then it stays at that point for awhile. I'm hoping it's because of the line dancing and other excercise that I do that causes that. Since I started the line dancing I've lost 4 lbs so I know I need to keep doing the dancing. I'm working on finding a good area at home that I can practice the dances so I get more in. At this point I'm dancing in class 3 days a week and teaching a class the 2nd and 4th friday of the month. Just need to fill in on the days I'm not going ... Thu, 21 Mar 2013 11:30:00 EST On my way down http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5254871 I am losing inches and now some weight. I'm doing the line dances at least 5 days a week. I also have a DVD for zumba basics which I may try. It shows the moves then you spend time on them. My thoughts are to do one move at a time and learn it well then I can do the 20 minute workout with all of the moves involved. Mon, 18 Feb 2013 12:45:14 EST Chair Aerobics http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5158234 Between line dancing and chair aerobics I'm seeing a little difference. I haven't lost the weight, but I did see a difference in my measurements, or at least the waiste measurements. I'll keep working at it and eventually will see the difference over all. At least now I feel like I'm accomplishing something. Thu, 6 Dec 2012 12:54:57 EST Line dancing http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5120245 I've started line dancing. I'm hoping that along with my walking this will help with the weight loss. Even if it doesn't it's still fun and something I'll continue doing. Harder for me to walk during the cold months but I get as much in as I can. Don't have any equipment anymore, it seems to have disappeared over the years. I guess I should add that I do know where the equipment went. Even when I was using it off and on, kids or hubby needed a part for something they'd take it from the equipm... Thu, 1 Nov 2012 12:02:55 EST A lb a week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5076243 In the last week I actually lost that lb. I'm hoping to keep doing that each week. Will take me awhile to get to I want to be weight wise, but in the end it will be worth it. I need to find alternative methods of working out. The walks are great, but my hips don't want to move that much lately and back has been bothering me. I think I need to start the pilates and work up to something that works me more. Wed, 26 Sep 2012 20:07:51 EST In Limbo http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5046988 The good news is I'm not getting any bigger, the bad news I'm not getting any smaller either. My weight seems to be bouncing around right now, within 2 lbs up and down. I'm really not getting heavier, just staying about the same actually.

We're still working on my thyroid meds to get them adjusted. Hopefully once we find the right amount I'll start actually losing the weight and toning up. Thu, 6 Sep 2012 11:38:53 EST Still working on it http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5037476 Right now I seem to be in limbo with my weight going up and down by 1 or 2 points weekly. With the heat wave we had this month I didn't get as much speed walking as I do when it's cooler. I still walked, just at a much slower pace which doesn't get cardio up or burn as many calories per step. Now that it's cooling down again I can start walking faster and try to incorporate other ways to burn calories. I just need to keep trying and get to where I feel better health wise. I know what my ideal... Thu, 30 Aug 2012 12:56:52 EST Sometimes I wonder http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5017942 I think I'm doing everything right, but there are days I wonder. I'm watching what I eat adding more veggies and fruits and less of everything else. About 1/2 way through my week I check my weight and it shows a loss. Then comes weigh in day. I always way in shortly after I get up. Those days show I haven't lost a thing. Some weeks it's just so frustrating. Thu, 16 Aug 2012 10:59:06 EST 1 lb a week? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5008171 That's what my Dr. told me. She wants me to loose 1 lb a week. I met that goal for the first time this week. Now if I can do that every week eventually I'll be where I want to be weight wise. She also wants me to be at my ideal weight and gave me the formula for that. A few yrs ago I had made that weight then gained it all back when I quit doing the activities I was doing before. I need to get back to my walking, but the weather has been way to hot to do that. Think I'll go hide in another ro... Thu, 9 Aug 2012 11:45:37 EST On a rollercoaster http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4997926 That's how I feel some days. I weigh in each week and once a month measure. I see some progress, but then comes the monthly weigh in and measurement. I keep hoping to see a difference, especially when during the week weigh ins it looks like I'm loosing weight and inches. The monthly I'm right back up to where I started in both weight and measurements. All I can do is keep trying and hope that as some point I won't gain it all back by the end of the month. Thu, 2 Aug 2012 12:02:45 EST workout vs working http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4990491 In the last week I've been at my volunteer position almost everyday. Even Wed when I was supposed to get to stay home. I run a food bank in another town, so it's also a lot of driving back and forth. Normally I'm only there 2 days a week. One for my volunteer time in the food bank, the 2nd day volunteer time in the church to help out.

This last week, because of being low on food and trying to find some grants etc, I've been working on all the paper work that I can find to fill out... Sat, 28 Jul 2012 12:50:53 EST Back on Track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4977665 I think I'm back on track again anyway. I'm back to my walks, working in the garden and stretches. Trying to stay on track after my trip isn't as easy as I thought it would be. I am seeing a small amount of weight loss again, a pound at a time weekly is what I hope for. I noticed my tummy feels a bit tighter, which is a good thing. I need to keep working on that and getting those measurements back down to where they should be. I'll just keep trying to move forward and not worry about the step... Thu, 19 Jul 2012 11:27:01 EST Traveling and weight loss http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4968722 I have learned that traveling with a group when all food is supplied doesn't always go along with weight loss. I did my best to eat the healthier foods, such as the nuts, fruits and veggies. Some of the foods cooked while with the group weren't exactly what I would eat at home. High in calories and other non-healthy stuff. Needless to say I added a couple of lbs, now have to get back to my healthy foods and try to reloose. The good part was the walking, or more often the stairs. There were 19... Fri, 13 Jul 2012 12:51:13 EST Finally getting somewhere http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4946129 I haven't actually lost any weight in the last week, but I haven't gained any either. Hopefully I'm off the roller coaster of the lose weight then gain in back on a weekly basis. I'll continue to add healthier foods and get rid of the junk foods, continue my walks. If I continue to work at getting healthier and losing the weight I know that I'll make it now. Thu, 28 Jun 2012 11:35:43 EST Small Changes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4936194 Since I have started taking the thyroid medicine I'm seeing small to moderate changes in my body. I'm starting to loose a little bit at a time. Other changes have been problems that I didn't know were associated to a thyroid problem, but they're now changing. I even sleep better and don't need to take something to help me get to sleep lately. All these things add up. Now to get back to the main walking. Will have to do this early in the morning or later in the evening when it's not so hot. I'... Thu, 21 Jun 2012 11:59:56 EST A Big Thank You http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4926170 To all of you that have encouraged me and kept me going during this time. I have never written a on a blog before. When things starting going downhill, or at least I thought they were, and I was getting discouraged and ready to say forget it, it's not working, I remembered when I was younger and things were going wrong I'd write a letter to someone. I never sent those letters, but it did help me air out my problems. I just put them away to read later. I have since thrown them all away, but it... Thu, 14 Jun 2012 11:01:30 EST A glitch in my plans http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4919491 Here I'm doing everything I can to loose weight and nothing was seeming to work. I changed my diet for the better, I started walking and adding extra steps each day. I was getting discouraged then realized I was loosing some of the inches so made me feel better. Now, after seeing the Dr., I find out I have hyperthyroidism. She is pretty confident that if I keep up the good work, and keep to my diet that the medicine will get it straightened out and I'll finally start loosing the weight. All I... Sat, 9 Jun 2012 22:24:25 EST Feeling better about myself http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4916153 Not only did I finally see some good results in weight loss. I also happened to notice myself in the door window while walking up to the grocery store. I used to joke about being in shape and that round is a shape. I noticed I don't have that round look anymore, I actually have more of a figure. It may still be a large figure, but at least I can tell I have a waist now, couldn't see that before. I'll keep working on it and hopefully the results will continue. Will be so nice when I get my thi... Thu, 7 Jun 2012 11:15:45 EST Another weigh in http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4906618 I get so discouraged sometimes when I weigh myself weekly. My weight goes up and down and I feel like I'm not achieving anything. It does help when I see some of my measurements get smaller, I just wished the numbers would be more.

Thank you everyone for all the encouragement you have given me. If not for that encouragement I may have given up already. I'll keep trying and sooner or later I'll win this battle with your help. Thu, 31 May 2012 22:47:24 EST Another goal met http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4901147 Since I was to work up to 30 mins of cardio walking, meaning speed walking/dancing, I have started working towards that. I've actually surpassed that goal and made it to 40 mins of cardio walking.

I also started checking the distance part of my pedometer. Wow was I surprised, what I thought was walking for 1 mile turned out to be 2 miles. I may make that 5 miles goal yet. Mon, 28 May 2012 12:01:29 EST Something new for me http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4896596 My Dr. is helping me with the weight loss. She's adding to my excersize schedule with adding a bit more etch time I go for my walk. A lot of cardio type of walking entered with it and a much healthier diet then what I've been doing. More fruits and veggies. With her help I should meet my goal a lot sooner then I thought I could. My goal here is 7500 steps a day hers is 10000 steps. Thu, 24 May 2012 19:15:26 EST Woohoo 1 mile http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4890173 After all my grumbling and complaining about feeling like I'm getting no where I finally made it up to a mile in my walk. I do these around my back yard because I have the tendency to trip and fall sometimes. They're a combination of a slow walk for warm up and cool downs, speed walking, and dancing the the music I'm listening to. I tend to move to the music and getting a little aerobics in that way. Sun, 20 May 2012 19:27:01 EST weigh in days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4885671 The days I weigh and measure myself are often disappointing. I get upset with myself, a bit stressed, and depressed that I haven't met the goal I set for myself. Sometimes I see my weight and my measurements going up instead of down. Then I remember that I'm walking, working in the garden and flowerbed, doing a lot of digging and shoveling, and I'm losing the fat only to replace it with muscle. I'm not bulking up, and I shouldn't be. I just have to remember that the muscles, which is heavier,... Thu, 17 May 2012 11:58:44 EST
