Does anyone really ever "get it"? There is no secret pill, secret spell, or secret exercise...there are no secrets to living a healthy, full life. After reading what other people have wrote I realized I HAVE had a lot of success in a lot of tiny, different ways that definitely add up. I no longer add tons of flavored cream to my coffee...black & a stevia will do, thank you. I rarely drink soda's; but I cherish sitting dow... Mon, 29 Jul 2013 09:49:51 EST It's time... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5421659 OK...half the year is gone, I have just returned from a well-deserved, much appreciated 2 week break from work, and I realize just how lazy I have been since January. Why? If I have to be truthful I think I got lazy because SP was WORKING for me! Seriously! I believe I got lazy once I found out SP could help me lose weight because in my mind I found myself thinking, "go ahead and eat that, you know you can lose it later". So I got lazy...no more. A good healthy diet is a way of life. I... Mon, 15 Jul 2013 10:21:13 EST 2013 HERE I COME! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5185475 The holidays are always fun. I especially just like getting together with family and friends. Some of these people I haven't seen in a while so it is so nice to visit and catch up with what is going on in their lives. Overall, I did pretty darn good as far as my diet/exercise over the holidays. In all honesty there were a couple of splurges, but most everything was in moderation. Now, I am ready to put out a little more effort and commitment to my pledge of an overall healthier diet and ... Wed, 2 Jan 2013 07:19:56 EST One Holiday down...2 to go! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5146853 Enjoyed a SUPER Thanksgiving holiday with my family. Our Thanksgiving Day menu was soooo good...and actually different for us. We splurged on a boneless Heavenly Ham (they are not called "heavenly" for nothing!). I made scalloped potatoes in the crock pot (using fresh red potatoes), homemade "southern" cornbread stuffing, fresh green beans, and roasted stuffed tomatoes. I have never before made the cornbread stuffing or roasted tomatoes and they both turned out soooo good. This menu was ... Mon, 26 Nov 2012 09:10:39 EST Upcoming L-O-N-G weekend! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5128124 I missed my entry in the beginning of the week so I will do so now. I feel my progress is going great! Honestly, I KNOW I could do better. However, I want this to be a 'forever' life change and not a limited diet phase. I am saying this because my biggest change has been eating more consciously. Before I let any food pass my lips I really think about it....I think about what I may have planned later in the day. I look for the"good" stuff in food...protein, good fats, good carbs. I thin... Thu, 8 Nov 2012 07:39:06 EST I LOVE SP People! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5118934 Soul baring time...I was NEVER one to tell anyone that I was trying to lose weight. I know why...because I would be embarrassed if I failed. So I always kept it to myself which for me, did not leave me "accountable" so of course I failed!
Thanks to Diet_Friend & George815 for leaving comments on my Blog! That is one of the reasons I joined SP - I was hoping to have to become "accountable", but on a somewhat anonymous basis. Although I really did not think anyone would read what I wro... Wed, 31 Oct 2012 10:28:28 EST The Structure of my Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5116569 Boy, although I work a flex schedule of 4, 10-hr days thus allowing a 3-day weekend, those 3 days fly by as fast as a 2 day weekend! We shared the weekend with our grandchildren which is just awesome. But something really stood out for me this weekend...it is the fact that the laid back attitude of the weekend makes an impact on my diet. I am not at the computer much so I am not tracking my food like I do during the week. During the week I am so structured and organized that it is easy fo... Mon, 29 Oct 2012 10:00:16 EST Biketoberfest & SP http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5108540 Alright, back to the 9 to 5 grind; leave the biker chick til next bike fest (March 2013!) I didn't do TOO bad with diet/exercise; could have been a LOT worse. I did a lot of walking for exercise but was hoping to do more. I did not wear my knee brace in the step class I attended the week before we left which left me with an unbelievably sore right knee (swelling/pain). My diagnosis leads to hyper-extension of the knee. I went to the gym as usual today but did not do any running. And bei... Mon, 22 Oct 2012 13:46:20 EST The Realities of Life http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5093752 Another challenging weekend. That is where I find the unstructured three days (I work 4/10hr days) to be my greatest challenge. During the week I do absolutely great with my tracking and exercise, as well as checking into SP. The weekend....hmmmm. What I have noticed is this: because I am doing so well tracking and watching what I put through my gorgeous lips 4 days a week, that I DO continue this trend through the weekend. Although I don't track on SP as well, I am very mindful of the ... Wed, 10 Oct 2012 09:31:00 EST The Queso did it...I swear! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5086175 So busy yesterday that I missed an entry. 198 Okay, I will 'fess up...had somewhat short of a cup of Moe's awesome queso in my fridge that I knew had to be eaten or be prepared to throw it out! So...I ate it! I must admit I just LOVE Moe's queso! And chips of course. I truthfully added it to my nutrition tracking for the day. Yeah, it took me somewhat over; not as much as I expected though. So, I have learned that since I have been logging my nutrition and workouts, that I... Thu, 4 Oct 2012 07:27:53 EST Stepped on the scale! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5083412 Well, I have been AVOIDING scales for a while now. Hopped on the one at home last night. Not that it is "perfectly" accurate; however, it did show a loss!! This weekend I plan to do a serious weigh in and take notes for my SP page! Although I know I could probably do even better with my food/diet, I am content where I am at right now. I mean, this needs to be an everyday experience, a true life change....eating healthy, thoughtfully and with purpose. Not just unmindful stuffing of the m... Tue, 2 Oct 2012 08:17:54 EST A New Week Begins http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5081756 Had an AWESOME weekend! Weather was great and took the motorcycles out for a quick over night to the beach. Must admit, without the structure of my weekdays that my eating was a little all over the place. I will say after documenting everything that went past my lips last week, that I was more aware, and more critical, of what I did allow myself to eat. This is good... Still working on getting more protein in on a daily basis. I am trying to focus on eggs, milk, chicken and fish. And of... Mon, 1 Oct 2012 08:28:54 EST HUMP DAY! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5075397 So far so good...I must really be determined to do this as I have not felt "deprived" or hungry or anxious. I actually feel pretty damn good. I bought new shoes and although I don't think they had anything to do with it, I have done something to make my right knee VERY sore (it kinda feels swollen). However, I did not let it stop me from walking at least a mile after my weight circuit workout yesterday. I brought my knee brace today as this is normally my cardio day and I alternate a fast... Wed, 26 Sep 2012 08:06:11 EST Day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5074059 Didn't do too bad yesterday overall. LOVE the review you get at the end of the day. Although I had planned a dinner in the afternoon, I ended up changing it at the last minute, but still stayed within my ranges for calories, etc. Was not anticipating how low I came out with my protein and carbs. I actually need to ADD more! Perhaps that is why the weight is not coming off? I also need to figure out what amount of calories I am burning during my workouts.

THANK YOU Princess & ... Tue, 25 Sep 2012 08:10:16 EST Monday...a beginning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5072561 Here it is, Monday morning, and a beautiful morning in FL it is! Fall weather greeted me on my way to work. I am all prepared to begin this journey of living healthy. I started off my day with the Sun Salute before I got dressed. What a great stretch. My lunch is packed and I am going to think about anything I am putting in my mouth before I actually do it! My workout is cardio on the treadmill today and a set of core exercises tonight with the Gym Boss. I will be keeping my journal jo... Mon, 24 Sep 2012 08:58:12 EST
