MELISSAHOPE0079's SparkPeople Blog MELISSAHOPE0079's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community been a long time My life has totally changed. I just had my son after many years of prayer. He was born September 25th. I had to have a c-section. I really didn't gain but about ten pounds my pregnancy. I just weighed myself yesterday and I weighed less than I did before I was pregnant. It's amazing how that worked out and am feeling rather good about my body at the moment. I am gonna keep up on my walking like I was during my pregnancy. Now it's a matter of getting a schedule going with having a baby. Fri, 4 Oct 2013 14:50:23 EST Got to go today Went to the Y with my hubbby. I used the elptical got to 4.5 miles and walked jogged a mile. I was tired but it felt great. Last Sunday at work I was slow so I made a goal chart for each month. If the weight comes off like it should for at least five pounds per month I will be at my goal weight in June of 2014. I know this is a long ways off but I want to loose weight but at the same time keep it off. I for once have had a total different mind set. I not only want to loose this weight but als... Sun, 12 Aug 2012 20:37:43 EST Workout Withdrawls I hate it when I work Saturdays because the Y is closed when I get off work. I started pushing myself to work out for at least an hour and a half instead of the hour. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm really enjoying working out. I use the eliptical for 1:05 and get up to 4.5 miles then I use the abdomial, rotation, and arm machine. Then the last two times I started walking and jogging. I'm gonna get this weight off. Days like today my body craves it. I will go tomorrow though and I ca... Sat, 11 Aug 2012 21:29:26 EST Inspired Lastnight I was at the Y with my husband. Jason(hubby) found a guy's wallet and returned it to him. This guy was the son of a guy we always see there but never met. The son told Jason thanks for returning my wallet. Then his dad told me how I inspire him. That made me feel great and I want to push even harder. God is good! 104 Tue, 12 Jun 2012 09:29:00 EST New mind goal I've been going to the Y for almost two months. I have not been loosing a lot of weight but not gaining any either. I told myself that at least I'm getting healthier and feeling better. I know in time the weight will come off. I can say that at least I'm doing this for myself. Mon, 21 May 2012 08:39:45 EST Going strong Started going to the Y on March 21st. I have been going no matter what. I have social anxiety which makes it hard but I'm doing this to get healthy. I sleep better, feel better, and actually enjoy it! Tue, 3 Apr 2012 22:51:34 EST Getting Back In The Groove I finally joined the Y have wanted to for a long time. Today was my second day going and am loving it! Thu, 22 Mar 2012 22:54:56 EST 20 Miles I had today off so I got to ride as long as I wanted. My husband and I rode for 2 hours and twenty minutes to total 20 miles! The weather was perfect not hot like it has been. I set my goal and I have God to thank for it. I wish I had more days like today. Sat, 13 Aug 2011 14:44:52 EST New record Rode 6 miles this morning and broke my time at 30 minutes! Friday it was 38, Saturday 36, and Sunday was 32. 332 Mon, 1 Aug 2011 08:20:30 EST One Pound! I weighed myself this morning and I finally lost another pound! I was so excited! I'm so addicted riding now, even got us bike helmets lastnight haha! Sat, 30 Jul 2011 21:07:37 EST Highest yet 5.63 miles in 35 minutes! Hubby and I rode this far. I wanted to ride a little longer but have to work. It was a fun ride though. Fri, 29 Jul 2011 08:40:59 EST 3.83 miles in 22 minutes! Wow didn't know I rode that far this morning! I love how you can track your route so helpful. I'm feeling the difference in my body. I should of gotten a bike sooner, been missing out on a lot of fun. I keep pushing my myself to go further each time and what a motivation it is. I can't wait to ride again in the morning! 332 Thu, 28 Jul 2011 09:02:05 EST Bike Riding Oh how I missed riding a bike. God blessed my husband with a bike. I didn't have one so after we had had lunch on his lunch hour I got a bike! I love it! I was reading online and it said that you burn the same amount of calories as running plus it's not hard on your knees, huge bonus. Jason and I rode to my mom's house this evening and it was a lot of fun! I love the freedom you feel. I can go so much further than walking. Gonna ride in the morning before work. Thu, 21 Jul 2011 22:49:14 EST Not enough hours I started my day at 5:30 and have been busy all day just wish I had more time to finish the yard work. I did get a lot accomplished and the backyard looks 100 % better. The pool is almost ready for water, finally got it all cleaned out. It'll probably have to wait though until Friday evening, go to my mom's tomorrow after work. Being pushed for time is frustrating. Gotta head to church in about thirty minutes for practice then I'll come home, crash and start all over again at 5:30. Wed, 22 Jun 2011 17:52:57 EST Busy day Hubby and I walked mile this morning at 6:00am, went to church at 8:30 am, left church at 1ish, got a rake for the yard, ate lunch, took nap, met with in-laws for dinner at 5:00, mowed front and back yard at 7:00, pulled weeds, and trimmed hedges all done by 9:00. I'm tired, feel good, and feel accomplished. Hubby's gonna stick with me on the walking, he's feeling better. About time for bed now gotta get up by 5:30 for walk, then go to work. I'm hoping to get the pool set up tomorrow evening ... Sun, 19 Jun 2011 22:46:19 EST Inspiration I was looking at some old photos and this one is what I'm aiming towards. This was taken in summer of 2000. I was 21 here. In the picture is my dad, my brothers Scott and John, me, and my mom.

Sat, 18 Jun 2011 10:03:08 EST Still on track I only missed one day walking. I'm gonna try to increase my walking. I just wish the sun didn't come up so quick. My body is learning to wake up earlier. 48 Yesterday my husband walked with me so that was nice. Husband took me out to eat for lunch for our 10th anniversary and tonight we're going to my mom's, she's making us dinner. Thu, 16 Jun 2011 17:18:18 EST Day 4 Since I started waking up at 5:30 and started walking at 6:00 I've been feeling so much better. I will admit that comes early but it's the only way to beat the heat. I walk for thirty minutes and get a mile walk in. I was gaining weight before I started walking but am now two pounds away from my low weight when I began loosing. Fri, 10 Jun 2011 07:55:25 EST making time My new goal is to walk in the mornings before work. Since it's been so hot I find this is the only time when it's cooler. That way when I get off work I can do other things. I like the peacefulness and the sun was just coming up. Tue, 7 Jun 2011 08:06:29 EST Slacking The weather this week has prevented me from walking. I really miss it, hopefully I can get back on track soon. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of my dad. I miss him so much. I turn to food sometimes when I really think about him too much. For so many years food has been my comforter. I still struggle to get over this. It's a hard cycle to break and I always feel bad and guilty so why do I do it? Wed, 25 May 2011 23:48:13 EST Thank God for Sparkpeople! I love all the support I get on this awesome site! It's inspires me to keep going. All the motivational stories encourages me. My husband is so supportive and is walking with me! My body is now learning and wanting to exercise more and I love it! If you've never run before (well, besides the obligatory 1 mile in elementary school), then be real with yourself. Don't expect one mile to fee... Tue, 17 May 2011 22:05:13 EST Runner inside me I'm getting back on track again. I'm so tired of being out of shape. Deep inside there's a runner in me that wants to get out. My husband and I went for an hour walk in the park and I jogged a little. I felt for a moment like I was back in school when I had to run. i hated running but now that I'm older I wish that I had kept it up. I get so inspired seeing others running in neighborhoods. I want that to be me. I want to be free to let go of all my insecurties, not caring what people think. Mon, 16 May 2011 22:59:20 EST Taking better care of myself So far I've cut back on what I eat. I am more open with my feelings. This is a bad habit but I've gone a week without biting my nails. I am no longer filling my emotions with food. God has given me a fresh look at my life and who I am and going to be. I am going to be who I see myself as being. Sat, 29 Jan 2011 11:39:03 EST Haven't blogged in years ... I'm leaving my weight loss in God's hands. It has to be Him working through me, I know I can't do it myself. I'm taking baby steps to take better care of me. I was blessed tonight. I know this sounds funny but my niece who's two said my name, and it was so precious. I haven't heard her say my name in quite some time. It sounded so beautiful and God showed me just how pretty my name really is. This is gonna be a short one this time, it's time for bed. God Bless! Thu, 27 Jan 2011 23:39:21 EST
