What? WHAT?? I'm going to take that with a grain of salt....but it sure does make me feel like Wonder Woman!

Today, I went to the new Whole Foods in downtown MPLS, and you guys, THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE JUNKY KETTLE CHIPS I NORMALLY BINGE MY FACE OFF ON. They DO have my 1st and 2nd favorite flavors of Ben and Jerry's, but.....it helps to have one enemy just completely removed from the battlefield when I go to the grocery store. Mon, 11 Nov 2013 16:30:49 EST Day 9 Check in! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5536654 Hi everyone!

It's been nine days, and so far, I've been successful with my plan to cut out ice cream and potato chips. There's been a few rough, stressful days where that was LITERALLY ALL I WANTED IN THE WORLD but I pushed past and came out unscathed. I even managed to make a shopping trip to Target without caving and throwing those two foods in with the rest of my purchases! I'm planning a shopping trip to Whole Foods later on today; please wish me luck!

I've not ... Sat, 9 Nov 2013 15:15:32 EST Go run. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5525514 Go run. GO RUN. GO RUUUUUN! Mon, 28 Oct 2013 12:21:06 EST Long Time, No Blog! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5523863 Hey everyone!
Here's what's new with me:

1. I'm really obsessed with the fact that you can make a blog entry right from the start page now.

2. I've had the "Skinny Jeans Workout" pinned in my browser for about a month now, and may actually start it soon.

3. I've been consistently running about 2.25 miles 4 times a week for the past few weeks, getting my body used to burning around 200 calories a day, and feeling pretty great as a consequence.
... Sat, 26 Oct 2013 11:50:45 EST Back at it! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5377106 2.10 miles in 20 minutes! AHHHH! So happy with that run, and a great start to the week as well! I managed to get a strength workout in, AND a load of laundry AND a healthy lunch.

On the flip side of things, I have to get my accumulator replaced so I can have A/C in my car again , to the tune of $550 dollars. SO. Life is all about balance, right? Mon, 3 Jun 2013 18:38:04 EST Try, Try again! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5373675 Oooof. I got back into my running shoes today after inadvertently taking two weeks off. It was.....not pretty. 2.62 miles in MAYBE 32 minutes? Can you guess why I don't know for sure? Yes, it IS because my phone died again!

I am going to give myself props for taking about 30 seconds to be super-pissed, huffily wrapping my headphone cords around said dead phone, and taking off to finish my run at a steady jog. It was warmer than expected, and I hadn't had breakfast yet, s... Fri, 31 May 2013 13:03:03 EST GOD, MY PHONE IS THE WORST. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5352017 Well, I think? MAYBE? I ran 3 miles in 30 minutes today, but I think it was honestly closer to 31, maybe even 32, because my phone died about 15 minutes in. So, of course I kept moving, and since I do HIIT when I run, I was approximating my fast and slow intervals. Then I tried to turn it back on just for funzies and it DID, but of course, i had no idea what interval I should actually be starting on since I had been guessing for the last 6 blocks, and so my timing was just all messed up. ... Fri, 10 May 2013 10:54:49 EST HEY YOU GUYS! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5347852 So, I've been tracking my mileage....not correctly.....these past two weeks. I forgot to include my 3-minute warm-up jog into my time, so all my times have been 30 minutes, not 27. So, 2.7 miles/30 minutes. But considering my goal is to do 3 miles in 30 minutes, I'm not angry. In fact, I'm pretty jazzed because today's run was......2.92 MILES IN 30 MINUTES! There's something about running fast to your favorite songs that makes you feel like you could just fly right off the ground. <BR... Mon, 6 May 2013 20:33:05 EST Frowny Face. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5346418 I was scheduled to go for a run yesterday.
I didn't.

I stayed home and had popcorn and beer for supper instead.

I feel discouraged.

I'm trying to tell myself that we can't all be Superwoman all the time. Sun, 5 May 2013 16:22:49 EST Running is so great, you guys. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5340887 I feel fracking amazing right now. Sweat is currently pooling in many places and I stink to high heaven, but man, what a great run! My second run in a row where I hit 2.7 miles/27 minutes. I felt so strong when I started running, like I could run for a million jillion miles. I'm so proud of myself for keeping up my new habit of pushing through and jogging/running the whole time, even if means I'm jogging slower than a turtle for 15 seconds.

Have a great day, guys!!! Tue, 30 Apr 2013 14:50:41 EST Exercise: I still can't spell it. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5339724 Nope, I still cannot spell that word correctly on the first try.

But I did strength workout today! Even though I very much did not want to!
I did it! And now I feel great! And am stuck in a permanent state of exclaiming!

I HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAVING A LOVELY DAY; REMEMBER, if you're sad, exercise and listening to One Direction will probably make you feel better, i don't care who you are. Mon, 29 Apr 2013 16:21:01 EST 2.7 miles in 27 minutes. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5337665 Continuous running. For 27 minutes. I thought it was amazing that I was able to do 20 minutes. But then today I added 7 more minutes. And, it seems, I'm well on my way to hitting my goal pace of 3 miles in 30 minutes.

I feel fanTAStic. Sat, 27 Apr 2013 20:44:41 EST I'm so glad to be running again. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5325226 Today I managed to jog for 15 minutes straight. It was exhausting and at times I thought I might pass out and there a SMALL stomach cramp toward the end, but pushing through each time and being able to keep going felt so amazing. I can't wait to try again in two days. Tue, 16 Apr 2013 12:51:46 EST Total Body Sculpting! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5240396 Hey all! I'm planning on starting Coach Nicole's pre-set work out plan for her new Total Body Sculpting DVD next week, with two weeks each spent on Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. But I'm spending the next three days doing the three workouts ahead of time so I'm familiar and ready to go next week.

Today I did Barre Body Blast, and as someone who took ballet as a youngster, I LOVED IT. The squat sequence in the first half of the routine is just killer, and the jette leaps ... Wed, 6 Feb 2013 15:13:17 EST Breakfast and Coffee and Nikita! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5195013 I forgot how much I love making a real breakfast!
This morning, I made coffee with a little bit of creamer. I scrambled two eggs with a smidge of colby-jack and butter, mixed in a chopped-up Morningstar maple sausage and plopped it all on top of a toasted Nutri-grain waffle, and had half a grapefruit on the side.

I listened to an acoustic Dawes/Justin Townes Earle record while I cooked and am currently watching Nikita as I type this.

This has been a great morn... Mon, 7 Jan 2013 12:55:50 EST Hungover. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5184560 Not sure if a workout will happen today - I'm hugely hungover, and my only ab workout has been from upchucking all day. Sorry for the visual?

My roomie and I have been watching movies all day, and soon I'm off to another with a friend. Tue, 1 Jan 2013 19:02:58 EST New Year! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5182684 I restarted the 28 Day Bootcamp today - it was like coming back to an old friend. I also spent about an hour playing Just Dance 4 with my roomie; great fun!!

Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Mon, 31 Dec 2012 18:56:42 EST This workout is great! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5116831 http://www.self.com/fitness/workouts/2012/
11/the-no-equipment-workout-slideshow#
slide=1

I just did this for the first time, and I feel like a superhero now. I could legit fly right now. Mon, 29 Oct 2012 13:47:15 EST Changes! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4998369 I have ONE day of Level 2 Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred before I get to level up to Level 3. EXCITING!! Just wanted to give a shout to let you know that I'm sticking with it even though I haven't written much the last few months. I've also gotten down to 140 and been able to maintain that for 2 weeks; the last time I weighed that was junior year of college. My goal right now is to get down to 135 by September 1, and then maintain that for a yet-to-be-determined amount of time. Ideally,... Thu, 2 Aug 2012 17:32:31 EST 30 Day Shred! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4950671 First day doing Jillian's 30 Day Shred after almost a year of avoiding it since it kicked my butt the last time. This time around, I had two things going for me: I'm familiar with the workout so I wasn't playing catch-up the entire time, and I'm coming of 6 months of consistent, weekly exercise, so my body was prepared for the shock of a 20 minute workout with no breaks. Thanks to Coach Nicole's 28 Day Bootcamp DVD, I'm used to working out much longer than 20 minutes, so my brain was like, ... Sun, 1 Jul 2012 17:32:42 EST Awesome! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4935279 I just did the entire CardioBlast DVD; what can I say? I was feeling a little old-school today.

I wanted to see if I could do it. Not only was it doable, but during the last segment, I breezed through the 30-second interval of mountain climbers like they were nothing.

Mountain climbers are the BANE of my existence; when I used to do that workout, I wouldn't even be able to finish the mountain climbers. I'd get maybe 10 seconds in? Today, they were done before I kne... Wed, 20 Jun 2012 20:25:19 EST Improvising! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4926535 Today is my first day of workouts since officially finishing the plan. I have not lost any weight on the plan, but I have definitely toned up and did not gain any additional weight. My quads, for example, are more toned than they've ever been - I noticed them the other day while brushing my teeth and just standing with one leg bent; the quad muscle on my straight leg just screamed "LOOK AT ME! I HAVE BEEN CHISLED FROM MARBLE!"

I think the results with my overall weight have mo... Thu, 14 Jun 2012 15:24:19 EST Day 28, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4925392 DONE......but not really, because I'm continuing on for three more days. Stay tuned for the final blog! Wed, 13 Jun 2012 20:53:54 EST Day 27, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4922141 I love the Cardio Burst workout, I really do, but truth be told, I'm getting a little bored with it, I think. I caught my mind wandering about halfway through today, so I tried to make sure I was working extra-hard and with good form the rest of the time.

If you've done the workouts, you know that during the cooldown, Coach Nicole takes you from a warrior pose to a standing quad stretch towards the end; today, for the first time this whole program, I was able to transition smooth... Mon, 11 Jun 2012 18:59:36 EST Day 26, 28 Day bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4920806 Guys, I'm dying.

Scratch that, I'm dead. I'm blogging from the beyond, because I just did the Total Body Challenge combined with the Short Cardio-Sculpt, and it killed me. A thunderstorm started just as I began the workout, which was a total of 52 minutes tonight; by the time I was done, it had tapered off to a pleasant rain shower. It's been a million degrees all day today, so I used the thought of how GREAT it would feel to go stand in the rain after my workout was done t... Sun, 10 Jun 2012 22:51:04 EST PAUSE! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4918986 Thursday was a rest day for me; I planned to jump right back in on Friday, but I was scheduled for 9.5 hour shifts both Friday and Saturday (11:30 - 9:30PM) and with my depression kicking in pretty hardcore this week, I just couldn't imagine doing it.

I also got a "thanks, but we have nothing to offer you at this time" letter from an audition I did a month ago in the mail today, so I'm just going to let myself sit around and be bummed today. :(

I have a lot of time of... Sat, 9 Jun 2012 13:59:25 EST Day 23 and 24, 28 Day bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4915173 WELL, yesterday was Cardio Burst, which was really fun; I was in a good mood to begin with, so I pretty much danced my way through it.

Today I had to do Total Body Challenge; it's definitely starting to have more of a flow for me. The first few times I did it, I felt as though I was playing catch-up a bit, but now I've gotten in the groove. Just in time, too, since later this week Coach Nicole's plan combines it with other workouts! EEP. Wed, 6 Jun 2012 18:08:36 EST Day 20, 21, 22; 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4911707 I'm so tired, you guys. I didn't really get a day off this past week, so I feel like I'm just hustling, hustling hustling. I've stuck to my workout schedule, so that's a blessing, although today's CardioSculpt+Tone and Burn felt like hard work. Maybe the endorphins are on their way?

I'm going to try to go to bed early tonight - I am just totally wiped. Mon, 4 Jun 2012 14:34:01 EST Day 19, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4907766 Easy Cardio Burst workout today - BREEZED through. I'm excited to do Total Body Challenge again tomorrow, despite the fact that I've been complaining about my sore legs all week. Not a lot to say - it's a beautiful day today, my brother is taking me to get a bike helmet and then we're going to see AVENGERS!!! Second time for me, first for him.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOT! Fri, 1 Jun 2012 17:00:11 EST Day 18, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4906464 DO I REALLY ONLY HAVE 10 DAYS LEFT??

Wowzers. Tonight was Tone and Burn; some of the leg moves were a little more difficult because I'm still recovering from the Total Body Challenge (seriously, that workout kicks it into high gear) and I've been doing a lot of biking the last few days. BUT my hammies have been so tight the last two days, I thought doing another workout would help them a bit. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. Teetering around in these high heels every day is proba... Thu, 31 May 2012 20:57:47 EST Day 16 and 17, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4904534 OH MY LORD, GUYS!

The Total Body Challenge! Kicked my butt! I felt great when it was done; today I'm definitely feeling it. There's a whole mess of kettlebell inspired stuff for the first half that really makes me want to get one. Today is a rest day; I'm just doing some light biking to work and then to a friend's house.

Seriously, though. I'm sore. Wed, 30 May 2012 15:12:30 EST Day 15, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4901362 Today was Cardio-Burst again; I've started switching to the more advanced versions of the moves sooner than Coach Nicole instructs so I don't get bored. This workout in particular is starting to feel like second nature, which makes sense since I've done it 5 times now.

This is the halfway point for the program; tomorrow will be the first time I do the Total Body Challenge workout! I'm a little nervous because it's 40 minutes total, but then I remembered that I did 42 minutes ba... Mon, 28 May 2012 14:35:34 EST Day 14, Rest Day....For Real! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4899965 Okay, tennis will still probably happen - but I did go ahead and do the Cardio-Sculpt workout yesterday - I'm glad I did it, as I felt great during and afterwards!

Today, my family is coming up to celebrate my and my sister's birthdays! They're only 10 days apart, so now that we're older, we alternate cities each year for getting together. They should be getting here in a few hours!

I'm also getting a new chest of drawers, so I'm off to clean out my old one! Sun, 27 May 2012 12:57:50 EST Day 13, Rest Day....Maybe? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4898911 I'm supposed to take today off, but I'm feeling so incredibly puffy this week for exactly the reason you're probably thinking that I might go ahead and do tomorrow's workout today. If the weather improves, I'll be playing tennis with my brother anyway, so it's probably better to space that it, is my line of thinking.

Sat, 26 May 2012 13:52:49 EST Day 11 and 12, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4898070 Yesterday was a rest day, thank goodness, as I was out at classes and rehearsals all day.

Today was 42 total minutes of exercise: Tone and Burn straight into Cardio Burst, with 10 minutes of warmup and cooldown. I feel completely exhilarated. My emotions have not been on the evenest of keels as of late, so it feels really good to focus on something purely physical for a little while.

Happy 3-day weekend, everyone! I hope you all have a great one! Fri, 25 May 2012 19:49:16 EST Day 9 and 10, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4894571 Yesterday I did the Tone and Burn workout for the first time. I was equal parts excited for a new workout and worried about the longer length (20 vs 12), mostly becuase I was just tired yesterday. BUT! I did it anyway; the standing arm flys were the hardest part - I was very proud of myself for sticking with it all the way through.

Today will be just a quick Cardio Burst, but I'm looking forward to it ; after yesterday's workout, this'll feel like playtime!

I also ... Wed, 23 May 2012 12:33:18 EST Day 7 and 8, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4891042 Yesterday, I finished my first week of the program with a Cardio-Sculpt workout! I also rearranged my apartment, so it fills about twice as big now - I feel like I finally have room to actually workout!

Today will be a day of running errands - I've got to go renew my license, go to a music rehearsal, throw a broken organ away, go grocery shopping AND make waffles for breakfast the rest of the week! Thank goodness the temperature's gone down outside.

I also saw the Ave... Mon, 21 May 2012 10:37:07 EST Day 6, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4888622 Cardio-Sculpt today. It's hotter than can be believed in my apartment right now, so I'm going to go throw myself into the shower. My brain can barely form thoughts. Sat, 19 May 2012 14:00:19 EST Day 5, Rest Day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4887544 SO. Today was supposed to be Cardio-Sculpt.

But as I mentioned yesterday, it was my birthday. While my day was mostly low-key, I went to best friend's new house last night and had about 5 glasses of celebratory champagne. Oops?

I was just too groggy this morning to exercise (I could barely handle making coffee!), and I have the whole day off tomorrow, so I'll just have two days of Cardio Sculpt in a row, I suppose!

Please hold me accountable?? :) <BR... Fri, 18 May 2012 16:24:42 EST Day 4, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4886404 Today was back to Cardio Burst - still just as fun as the first time. It's been just long enough since Monday that I forgot which exercise was coming next, so my mind was alert the whole time as well.

I ALMOST didn't work out today; I meant to do it this morning, but I had to go into work earlier than usual. So then I was going to do it after work, but of course, I had a two hour meeting at 6 that I had forgotten about. It's also my birthday, and I had plans to head over to my ... Thu, 17 May 2012 21:55:14 EST Day 3 - REST DAY! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4884378 Today, I have the day off from the 28 day bootcamp video. I did bike to and from work, so I'm still getting some exercise in. I'm going out to a meeting/happy hour after work at this great craft beer pub in one of the southern suburbs, so tonight will be a test both of my financial willpower and my nutritional willpower. The food there is just so-so, so I'm not too worried about that, but this is one of those places with 35 - 40 beers on tap, which is a problem for me.

If the... Wed, 16 May 2012 15:14:23 EST Day 2, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4882908 Dragged my butt out of bed this morning to do the Cardio-Sculpt - it was great! I'm looking forward to doing it again when I'm a little more awake. :)

I love that a timer runs down in the bottom right corner of the screen, so you know how much time is left in the workout. For me, it helps me push a little bit more in the last few minutes. I envision the time as this big cement block that I'm chiseling pieces off of with every punch, kick and squat until it gets down to nothing,... Tue, 15 May 2012 16:50:51 EST Day 1, 28 Day Bootcamp http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4881009 ALRIGHT! I took last week off from all things health-related due to some financial and job stress (nothing major; just a lot of things at once!) and lordy, I needed a reset button.

I started Coach Nicole's 28-day Bootcamp DVD today, and it felt great to be up and moving again. Coach Nicole is always so calm when she leads videos; I love her demeanor. I'm following the pre-set calendar, so today was the Cardio Burst workout - I really liked the mix of Latin dance, kickboxing a... Mon, 14 May 2012 14:07:32 EST Week 3!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4820846 Well, I'm midway through week 3 of the Drop 10 program, and it's safe to say that I'm not going to be dropping 10. I may drop a few, but definitely not that much. I've been really focusing on intention during the strength training sessions (using what I've learned from Coach Nicole!!) and I can definitely see more muscle definition. I've actually gained a pound since starting the program.

Of course, I'm not following the meal plan AT ALL; that's a whole other can of worms du... Wed, 4 Apr 2012 20:22:52 EST Periods are stupid. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4805818 I am just a monster today - I don't know if my pre-TOM mood swings have ever been this bad before. I'm about to walk to work with my daily coffee for an evening event managing shift; maybe company and a little exercise will lift my spirits a bit.

But goodness gracious do I want processed food right now!

Mon, 26 Mar 2012 15:27:26 EST Tink is Back! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4804181 Today has been a day of pushing myself.

I'm in the week before TOM, so my moods have been super-erratic and my depression has been really present in the mornings especially, just pushing me down and threatening to set a defeatist tone for my whole day.

To try to defeat it, I called my brother and asked him to play tennis with me this evening so I have something active to look forward to.

Then I set about taking care of some minor tasks I have been just not ... Sun, 25 Mar 2012 15:43:42 EST Triumph! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4801595 Today was my first distance run in the Drop 10 program - 2 miles, walk, run, bike, whatevs.

I chose jogging, and was able to complete the entire 2 miles without walking once! I also finished at 19:50, which means I'm still able to do a 10-minute mile!
