A closet full of clothes with hopes that someday you will get back into them? I had dresses, blazers, jeans, pants, jackets..... all from 10 - 15 years ago when I was... Sat, 31 Dec 2011 20:28:31 EST 6 months & 5 fills.. the journey continues http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4610964 Thanksgiving Day was definitely a day of thanks for me as it was my 6 month anniversary with the Lapband! I continue to have success with my weight loss, although slow. But my main objective for the band was to keep me from regaining, not so much losing. So far I have been through summer picnics, a very long vacation and 1 major eating holiday and I have lost 20 lbs since the surgery.

I am now at 9.5 ccs in my 11 cc band. I really didn't feel restriction until I was at 8cc's... Sat, 3 Dec 2011 19:35:13 EST My first RV trip to the beautiful SouthWest! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4545073 I just returned from my virgin RV trip to the beautiful SouthWest. What an experience! My husband and I had many plans to travel after he retired. God had other plans for us though. My husband died of a heart attack just 3 days after his last day of work. Six years later, I have retired. I was a bit anxious about buying an RV and travelling alone, but I am determined to live our dreams.

My trip took me and my Bostons, Fred & Sanford, from MD to Florida to pick up my Aunt and ... But I had heard that Spark People was a great resource for weight loss and support. So I gave it a try. I found the Lapbander's team and started reading, and reading, and reading. I kept coming back and always found something that helped.... advice, support, kind words and honesty.

After my surgery, I thought it was time to take the giant leap and find a buddy that I could share ideas and issues ... Am I where I thought I would be 3 months out? No I'm not!

I don't know where I got the notion that the band would start working for me immediately? I soon found out that Bandster Hell is what it is referred to. Appropriately named I must say! I wasn't prepared for the weeks/months it would take to get enough fills to feel restriction. 3 weeks after my surgery, I was ravenous and I wasn't prepared for... But my doc had different plans for me.

I had lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks thanks to the Zumba, Swimming and Walking! I told her I ate some chicken on the 4th and it didn't go down very easy. She said I am doing great! Um.... WHAT? But... but I'm still hungry I said! She told me that I needed to start eating firmer foods, like the chicken. Small bites, chew, chew, chew and slow down. The firmer proteins are supposed to sit in your st... Wed, 6 Jul 2011 18:42:16 EST Those darn plateau's ! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4339374 Right after my surgery, I lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. It stands to reason because I was on the liquid phase of the diet. Regardless, it was a surprise to me and happened effortlessly because I couldn't eat a lot due to the surgery. Then came week 3 when my stomach fought back with a vengance and demanded food. Lots of food! I gained 1-1/2 lbs as a result. I was a little worried about it, not knowing what changes were going to take place after I got my first fill. But, remained calm and foc...
