Sun, 13 Nov 2011 08:53:57 EST I can do this Hi Spark friends

My back was playing up again last night, so I decided no running this morning - sorry JayeJo - but decided to get up and go for a swim instead
Well I used to swim 4-5 times a week (used to go in my lunch break) but that was over 10 years ago. A rubbish job 10 years ago, along with a house move and loads of stuff meant I stopped going regularly, kept eating the same rubbish and gained even more weight - less of this, it's is a positive blog today!

I'... Sun, 25 Sep 2011 04:05:59 EST another busy day - trying to make sensible choices so I set off to work this morning having eaten baked homemade granola, blueberries and plain yogurt, followed by a boiled egg.
I knew today was going to be a long one, with meetings from lunchtime so I packed some of my butternut squash soup from yesterday, 150 grams of cottage cheese and an Alpro soya desert - yum
I left the office just before half 11 this morning to travel to my first meeting (due at 1) I'd already had some soup and a dried fruit snack
Good job I did - arriv... Mon, 19 Sep 2011 15:03:30 EST Watch Me shrink challenge - before - picture blog Morning spark people

Well having joined this challenge mid week and not doing anything about it, I thought I'd wait till usual weigh in day to take pictures, measurements and weigh myself It's been a tough few weeks with my bad back and because I haven't wanted it to flare up again I haven't done much exercise, and it shows in the measurements.

So here goes, it's not pretty, but it will motivate me to do more / more consistently etc.

The recommendation from A... Sun, 18 Sep 2011 04:50:27 EST It's a struggle Morning all

Yesterday I was much more mobile and was even starting to think that the pain was going. Alas I woke up this morning and it's back to Friday's pain.

This is just so frustrating.... I have loads to do - should be back at work tomorrow as it's coming out of my ears at the moment (what recession!) Sun, 21 Aug 2011 06:03:07 EST Pain Hi there Sparkers

I'm in agony again - 2 weeks ago I was suffering from sciatica and struggled to get around - it lasted 4 days and painkillers just didn't touch it
Then almost as quickly as it arrived it went again.

Sat at my desk yesterday afternoon, feeling as though I could go out for a run, aaarrrgh - little squeal of pain and poorly back. This time it felt different, pain all across my lower back (not just the left side) and shooting into my left leg still. Re... Mon, 18 Jul 2011 16:34:49 EST Goals SO last week really didn't go according to plan which was entirely my own doing

I've left and re-joined the 10 minute streak sparkteam and will make sure I do 10 minutes each day.
I'm going to allow myself up to 1700 calories per day which I think is more realistic for me.
I'm starting the training I need to be able to do a 10k by November - 3 runs per week, every week, starting today with our usual 3.3 miler (going to try and jog the whole thing and as I'm with Jayejo s... Sun, 17 Jul 2011 04:30:58 EST 10 minute exercise streak - day 1 So I decided I needed a kick up the bum today so joined the 10 minute exercise team. added to the motivation I'm getting from the Yorkshire team (thanks girls) will kick start my weight loss again.
Even with the busiest day at work I can fit 10 minutes exercise in

So here's to the end of Day 1 - managed to get 25 minutes walk / jog in (1.7 miles in 25 mins) but it really hurt. I haven't been out regularly since my holiday - and have got into the habit of not exercising. Honest... Mon, 11 Jul 2011 16:01:32 EST Super holiday in Morocco and a weight loss (with Pics) I was really looking forward to our holiday, having only 2 weeks notice and going somewhere I've never been before, if a little apprehensive of having a Tankini on again without losing much more weight

So I'd been shopping and bought a gorgeous Pink and White tankini (I didn't used to be a pink person!) and had the blue and white one left over from last year's holiday. I also decided to buy a proper swimming costume with scaffolding in for my ample bosom!

We arrived in M... Thu, 16 Jun 2011 16:28:12 EST Can't believe I inspire people After the high of yesterday's 5k, I took a phone call from a friend at work

She's decided, having seen my race pictures from yesterday, that she's going to get fitter by starting to walk more and has signed up for a walk round the lake for a charity she's involved with.
I've inspired her to do this, to improve her health !

Me ! Go figure.... I just keep on plodding along, trying to get healthier. I suppose this is a side effect, my spark has spread and inspired oth... Sun, 29 May 2011 09:20:07 EST looking forward to my 5k run Wow - I can't believe the Race for Life is THIS Sunday!

I went out for my last run this morning - I managed 2.8 miles in 37 minutes - although there was about 6 minutes of walking in that. I'll know exactly how I did when I download the run from my Garmin

I was really pleased, but I hoped to be able to do the 3.1 miles in 35 minutes.
Then I think, I shouldn't be disappointed whatever time I manage, because I've worked really hard at my fitness since November and I ... Fri, 27 May 2011 14:28:55 EST Has had my faith restored in people Well - I thought I'd share this with you

Some of you may remember I had a horrid incident about a year and a half ago - I was out running in the rain and these teenage girls (well one of the 2) laughed so hard I thought she'd pee herself. Her friend was mortified as was I - I went home and cried (alot).

Anyway, pick myself back up and continue with the running - I don't care how daft I look - I'm out there improving myself!

I had another incident with a grou... Sun, 8 May 2011 06:48:18 EST A look back at this week Hi all

So this week has been reasonably good - I've made sure I got my exercise in, I have drunk my fluids as I should, I've had 4 - 6 portions of freggies each day.

All good

I've watched what I've had for breakfast, lunch and snacks. But I've come home on a night and ended up going over. So does this mean 1550 maximum calories per day is too little for the exercise I'm doing

I'll weigh in on Sunday anyway, and hope I've still lost some. If I've los... Wow

For the first time in probably 10 years, I'm in the 13 stones

I weighed in this morning expecting to have maintained (or gained) due to not being able to eat / drink yesterday from breakfast.
