MARJORIEWRIGHT's SparkPeople Blog MARJORIEWRIGHT's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community My Progress 10.28.15 Happy Wednesday!! I have been participating in a couple of Biggest Loser Groups through my work. I started out at 216 lbs last month and am now currently down to 206.4 as of last Friday. The final weigh in is this Friday and I'm looking forward to seeing if I have continued to loose. I am very proud of myself with everything that has been going on that I have continued to loose weight. There was one week that I gained but that was due to traveling on business and not eating healthy most of th... Wed, 28 Oct 2015 09:41:02 EST Saying "I love you" before it's too late I lost a wonderful lady in my life a week ago. My grandmother passed away last Tuesday while my Aunt (her daughter) and I were on our way out to see her. We found out about the second weekend of August that her kidney disease was progressing and so we made plans with the full support of my husband to go out to see her - we were scheduled to spend some time later this month. Then two weeks ago we received word that she had developed congestive heart failure. I worked with Southwest and they we... Tue, 1 Sep 2015 22:07:45 EST Looking at the Pictures Took family pictures this weekend and have realized that I really need to get serious about adding some healthy activities to my daily life and cut back on the eating out. I've been in denial for a bit about the weight I've been putting on. I'm not down on myself but I realize that I need to make some changes so that I am setting the right example for my 3 children. I want to have more energy to take them and do fun activities.

I hurt myself a few months back...broke or badly brui... Mon, 6 Apr 2015 15:19:08 EST Back into the workout routine I'm back into the workout routine. I've been doing well and getting between 10,000 and 19,000 steps for the last 2-3 weeks. It's great because I'm also working out with my husband which is nice too. I'm enjoying sleeping through the night. Tue, 6 May 2014 20:58:25 EST Need to get back into a routine I took some time off late last month and earlier this month to get over my really bad cold. I haven't really been very good about getting back into my exercise routine. It has been a crazy busy month.

I need to get back into the habit of doing my morning walk/jog before work and then try to get back into doing my 30 minutes at night too.

I got some walking in this morning but not happy with I'm at so will need to do some walking tonight when I get home if I have a chanc... Thu, 21 Nov 2013 12:03:15 EST Halloween Costumes from Last Week

Pictures of my kids in their costumes. My mother and I made the girls' costumes. I think they turned out very well. I'll have to get a picture of my costume loaded up too in the next few days. Thu, 7 Nov 2013 16:07:05 EST I hate being sick! It has been a really rough 2-3 days. I'm at least starting to feel somewhat better. I'm hoping to get back into my exercise routine over the next few days but won't push too hard. I definitely not want a repeat of how badly I felt Thursday and Friday. Glad to have some medicine that seems to be helping. Now I'm just hoping that I haven't shared any of my germs with my husband or kids. I really want my cough to go away. 24 Sat, 19 Oct 2013 23:35:01 EST A Good Day It's been a great day.

I was able to get in 2.5 hours of exercise in. I walked/jogged over 10.5 miles. I am very happy with myself for keeping this up. Let's see how I do tomorrow. Wed, 2 Oct 2013 22:34:50 EST Monday - 30Sep13 I was able to get in over 12 miles a day for the last 8 days. I pledged to walk 96 miles over those 8 days. I was able to get in almost 98 miles. I do still have a few hours to get in a couple more miles. I will cycle the last of the miles to get me to 100 miles tomorrow. I am so very proud of the company that I work for. They agreed for every kilometer pledged that they would donate $1 to the Shelter In a Storm Fund which helps out employees and communities affected by natural disasters. Fel... Mon, 30 Sep 2013 22:05:53 EST Saturday - 28Sep13 It's been a great day. I got the girls out for a walk with me. The guys went fishing together while the girls and I walked a mile over to the local Wal-Mart to get some gifts for their friend who was having a birthday party. They had a great time.

I was able to get in 13 mile today. 224 Sat, 28 Sep 2013 23:45:19 EST 26 Sep 13 - Still going strong Yesterdays Distance and Steps - 12.08 miles & 25,797 Steps

Today (10:53pm) - 12.11 Miles & 26,010 Steps

334 224 345 244 Thu, 26 Sep 2013 22:54:48 EST Getting My Steps In - 9/25/13 I've been doing well this week.

Monday - 311 / 312 11.23 miles which was 25,180 steps
Tuesday - 311 / 312 11.36 miles which was 25,434 steps

Today so far (as of 11:15am) - 311 / 312 4.48 miles which was 9,759 steps but not done yet because I still have to get 10 miles total in today too

I'll also have to remind my husband to call his brother to wish him a happy birthday. I took the day off from work because I have an eye appointment this morning and then an appointment for my son in the afternoon. I had asked my mom to take me to my eye doctor's appointment because I knew my eyes were going to be dilated and my mom agreed since it was her day off.

She called early to see if I wanted to go to breakfast; I thought that would be a great idea but told her I had to make sure my son... Fri, 20 Sep 2013 22:39:29 EST Thursday - 19 September Today was a good day. I am feeling much better than Tuesday. I was feeling better yesterday and so was able to go to work. It was nice to not feel so crummy. I still have a little bit of a cough but nothing like Monday afternoon and Tuesday. The day to rest really did work wonders. I took it easy yesterday too. I only got in a little over 10,000 steps. I got in a little over 13,000 steps today. Hopefully, I'll be feeling good enough next week to get in 10 miles each day.

My work is... Thu, 19 Sep 2013 22:57:23 EST Tuesday This is the first time in a while that I have felt real bad. I didn't get my steps in like I have been but I was just feeling so bad that I felt giving myself a day off to feel better was the best way to go. I hope tomorrow morning I'm feeling better so that I can get back to my walking routine. I have found that I really like getting in my steps. I shoot for over 10,000 steps a day and try to see how much I can do. I am feeling better this evening after staying home and sleeping most of the ... Tue, 17 Sep 2013 21:45:09 EST Wonderful Sunday It was a great weekend overall. Today was absolutely wonderful. I was able to get out and mow the lawn with our electric lawn mower (it is not self-propelled and is definitely difficult to push when the bag gets full). It took me about an hour and a half to get both the backyard and the front yard done with having to empty the bag about 3 times for both front and back yard. It sure is a workout trying to empty the lawnmower bag when is really full. I'm glad to have gotten in the exercise toda... Sun, 8 Sep 2013 22:07:32 EST Busy Week It's been one busy week. The kids went back to school. I had a contest for Toastmasters that I help at by being a judge. Wednesday Night was Girl Scout Training so that I can help out at the girls' Troop meeting and other activities. Tonight was Open House where the teachers explain what to expect and to answer parents' questions that may have come up since the first day of school. I am so hoping that tomorrow night is nice and quiet so that I can relax a little before picking back up with ac... Thu, 22 Aug 2013 22:27:43 EST Half way through the week Nearly to the weekend. I survived one Meet the Teacher Night last night. I have another one scheduled for tomorrow. All part of getting ready to head back to school. I will be glad when we get back into the rhythm of school again.

I was able to get in over 12,000 steps today. Wed, 14 Aug 2013 22:23:04 EST Monday It's a Monday. The beginning of a new week. I was able to get in over 13,000 steps today. One more week and the kids will be back in school. Looking forward to an interesting year with one in first grade, one in third grade and one in eighth grade. It's going to be a busy year. I just have to remember to take it one week and one day at a time. 30 Mon, 12 Aug 2013 21:22:57 EST TGIF It's a great Friday!! I got in some great steps today. It was also 13 years ago today that my husband and I welcomed our first addition to our then new family. Fri, 9 Aug 2013 22:07:18 EST 7 August 2013 Happy Wednesday. It's been a crazy day but I was successful in getting in my 60 minutes of walking today. Wed, 7 Aug 2013 22:38:33 EST Another Tuesday It was another typical Tuesday. I got up I did about 30 minutes of walking before heading off to drop the kids at camp and then head to work. I then got a lot of work do and wouldn't you know it about 4:15pm this afternoon the sky opened up. I am very thankful it's Friday! It's been a busy but very good week. I'm glad the weekend is here but I'm sure that I won't be resting for most of it. I've got some great Toastmaster Training going on tomorrow and then Sunday if it doesn't rain then I'm going to get outside and mow the front and back yard. If it stays nice maybe my family and I will go over to my husband's parent's house and mow their yard for them too. It's going to be a busy weekend but it'll be packed with some great activ... Fri, 26 Jul 2013 21:29:56 EST Busy Day Glad the day is coming to a close. It's been a bit busy. Woke up this morning and got in 60 minutes of walking and running. I went to work and got a bit done and hoping to finish up or at least refine some more tomorrow. Came home and got in another 30 minutes of cardio. Now it's time for sleep so that I can get at least 7 hours. Hoping your day is a good one tomorrow. 30 Thu, 25 Jul 2013 23:10:11 EST Trying to Remember Not Everyone Understands the Autism Spectrum My son is 12.5 years old and will be 13 in August. I'm not happy that is looks like rain most of the weekend, but at least it won't interfer with my workouts since I do a lot of indoor stuff. I love using my Wii Fit Board to walk/step each night to get my steps in. Some nights have been better than others but I'm always working to ensure I get in my 10,000 steps each night. Not so good this week but doing better. I've gotten 3 days out of 5 over 10,000 steps. I've had better weeks but still not doing too bad. I ...
