Have lost about 4 pounds in 4 weeks.....which is not particularly quick, but it's steady & it's by doing things that I can STAND to do. I'm not starving. I'm eating yummy food....just yummy food that's better for me than the old yummy food I was eating. Strawberries instead of a candy bar. Rice crackers with hummus instead of a bag of chips. My big ginger tom is VERY unhappy with me at the moment, won't stop hissing & swearing. I hope he'll get used to her soon. Tue, 19 Apr 2011 07:56:31 EST Taco Bell Ok, so after rushing to the PO, taking out the trash, going to the laundromat, walking from there to the drugstore, going back, folding etc, I was so beat last night that I could not face going home & having to cook & wait another hour to eat. Between the laundromat & my house, which is no more than 2 miles, there are, get this: Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Burger King, MacDonald's, Subway, Papa Gino's, and D'Angelos. Not to mention a local Chinese restaurant & a local sub shop. So ... Thu, 14 May 2009 07:18:25 EST DEFINITELY banished the 160's Ok, so for some reason I seem to have overcome some hurdle & have fallen like a stone the last week, despite it being "that time of the month" week. Lost 2 pounds last week. Dietician says I can't expect more than 1 pound a week at my size. Maybe all that working out has finally built enough muscle to be gobbling up more calories. Big news; joined the gym! Got a great deal & have actually been 3 times; going again tonight. Since my podiatrist said I can't walk more often than every other day, I've been going on alternate days to ride a statinary bike for cardio, and using a few of the machines for weight training. Have lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks from the all-time high of 170.8, so I guess I'm on the right track so far..... Tue, 21 Apr 2009 15:12:10 EST I'm back..... I discovered that I've been underestimating the amount of calories I'm getting in the whole wheat pizza dough I make. I was using the "one serving pizza dough" listing instead of plugging in my own ingredients in the proper amounts. Considering that I've been making pizza (with chicken & low-fat cheese by the way) several times a week, that means I've been underestimating ... My ex-husband's younger brother died suddenly at 41 & the family asked me to speak at the funeral, which was stressful. I got sick with the flu on Easter. Now I think my Crohn's is flaring up. Why is it always the ODD years that suck? Every odd year in the spring it seems like I have lots of troubles. It's been a pattern since '01. I should have known to expect weeks of no visible change on the scale after 3 consective weeks of significant loss. Still depressing. Really wanted to see the 130's this week but no soap. I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right....I'm about to change up my strength exercises, I'm trying to gradually increase the speed & distance of my walks, I'm staying within the recommended calorie intake almost every day. Let me tell you, I was scared to step on that scale. I have tried to take very much to heart all the advice about focusing on feeling better, having more energy, clothes fit a little looser, etc....but it SURE is rewarding to also be able to see the scale go down, for the second week in a row!
