Ruptured the cartilage in my knee and so am unable to exercise properly. With overeating an no exercise the weight piled on. SO back i came and logged everything and a 10lb weight loss. on my first week. Bit high but it is my first week after nothing for months. Does give me a buffer on my plan so any plateau weeks should balance out. Sun, 14 Jul 2013 06:49:56 EST Back to the running.. Have started a training program that should have be running a 5k in a decent time. It is set out with three runs a week but I am trying to fast track and I have a bit of a base level of fitness so I did the first two sessions. Spend more time walking than jogging at the moment but I'm out and about. I have an app on my phone that breaks up older play lists so it makes being out a little fresher every time and fun. There is a 5k training app I have as well so instead of the gym I have these. <BR> <BR> Have also treated myself to a pair of running shoes. So went out today and did the beep test over a 15m distance. Wet grass, snow falling and still did it. Didn't do very well though, got to 6.2. That gives me a Vo2 score of 33.6. The range for people my age is 44-47. So another challenge is set for myself. Stretches done today... was more like a power yoga session hard work but a break from the massive cardio work. Still keeping on it and going strong Wed, 10 Oct 2012 17:37:38 EST Insanity Day 2.. Just finished the first insanity workout. Was hard but not really bad. I think it is comparable to some of the boxfit or rugby training sessions I have done, the difference is this is scheduled for 60 days every day. The other is this is a 40min sessions where as the others are an hour so you do work harder for the time you put into it. Just done the fitness test for insanity. It's hard, but I did a bit better than I thought I would do. The good news is as this is a base line test I can only get better as well. Recovered fairly quickly as well so the rugby training I have done recently is showing. <BR> <BR> Add to this a 7lb weight loss for the week all seems good. The start of the week and I have been out on the bike and heading to the gym later. I am looking to get to rugby training twice a week and still head to the gym. Lost a stone in one week and put 8lb back on. The kids are back in school this week and a routine should be easier to settle into. Time to adjust the weights in my strength training and try to get a meal plan least knowing what will be for tea the night before will help me on the calorie front. I had one of those days yesterday but watched the food and then dragged myself to the gym. When I got there some one that had come to a class I did for a while was leaving and said I looked as though I had lost weight. RESULT!! <BR> <BR> Workout done and back home makes the sweat worth it. Thu, 23 Aug 2012 07:48:28 EST Weight Seesaw.. After being disappointed last week with a three pound gain, logging calories and doing my gym workouts I have just weighed in. I have lost a stone in a week when I missed the gym...admittedly calories have been counted and I have been better at staying within range but my diet didn't suddenly get that lower. <BR> <BR> I have found in the past diets are funny things and I am happy there is a loss this week. In the rain today as I was coming back from the gym I managed to come off my push bike. Coming round a corner I rode over a wet manhole cover <em>230</em> , or some iron work, my bike skidded out from under me and I ended up lay in the road. Was out today early did my strength training and a 30min X-trainer warm up, after riding my bike for a mile to get to the gym. They make the logging easier as I know what I have had for breakfast and dinner. These are also rather filling when hunger is hitting. Hopefully they will help me reduce my rather large appetite. Wed, 8 Aug 2012 05:10:40 EST Reboot Day 3 So second day of weights and wasn't so bad today, can really tell the difference in strength between my arms. <BR> <BR> Fell into an age old trap yesterday, log everything you eat or drink when you eat or drink it!!! I have the diet app on my mobile so there is no excuse, but I had a fizzy drink with some medication and forgot to log it. Come the end of the night all calories tracked and desert eaten when the fizzy drink rears it's head and my calories are blown again. Still lesson learned.... Will be trying to get to the gym tomorrow, better late than never....better avoiding injury as well. Had a nightmare resetting SP page and over ran calories for my weight loss it kept resetting calorie intake from what I had set. Ah well got a week to make it back. Not worrying too much with four days biking to and from work with another session at the gym and some stuff at home. The route planner is great as it allows me to show my route and then uses my weight from the site to work out calories, things I have used in the past just seemed to pick a figure out of the sky that did not take weight into consideration. Sat, 13 Aug 2011 16:59:10 EST 5K run So the other sunday completed a 5K charity run. Time was around 45 mins and completed evry obstacle that was on the course. Target was below 1 hour so very happy. Also kicked off a return to the gym after working away a bit and being ill. Fri, 12 Aug 2011 09:07:38 EST Holiday off Autumn half term has been and gone. Kids off and the other half ill all week it was had to keep up with the gym. This slipped and my weight gained a pound. Getting back on track now but the weather has been against me, using some home stuff to work out but need to go for a swim... Wed, 3 Nov 2010 18:29:20 EST Week 5 end So after a harder week than the rest I still managed to loose another 6bls. Now tipping the scales at 19st 12.5lbs. Only 9lbs of the 10% target weight loss for the course I am doing. Hopefully these changes are becoming set for when the course ends. Rather than being a diet the course is a lifestyle change with the education and support to make it stick. Eight pounds gone this week with 1st 1lb lost in total. After one month the numbers are getting big. Now it might be time to look at toning up as hopefully the inches will start falling now as well. <BR> <BR> <em>244</em> Mon, 18 Oct 2010 12:25:43 EST gym improvements Had a shorter gym session today but have increased the speed on the treadmill to 5mph only a slight increase but three weeks ago I wouldn't have said I could run 15 mins on a treadmill. <BR> <BR> Tried a little trick as well, visualised a rugby player running away from me with the ball. Green and red hoops on the shirt, number 9. It's amazing how fast I was running, limited by the speed of the treadmill. So far I have been concentrating on counting calories and working out. Tonight I was going to the gym to get an extra workout in but ended up talking a friend I have not spoken to for a while, and then just had a gentle swim and then a pamper time in the spa and steam room. Thunder and lightning and lashing rain. The gym looked like it would have to wait tonight, it's a long walk to get soaked and my gym bag isn't waterproof as I found out on sunday. I also don't have a waterproof coat at the moment, but a can of waterproofing spray will soon sort that out. As it is the rain stopped and off I go. <BR> <BR> It would have been swimming only as my swimming kit will fit in my bike pannier and I wouldn't have got as wet. There is alway... One of the good things about commuting on a bike is that my activity level doesn't drop too much of I don't go to the gym. The lifestyle change I am doing with the help group is a calorie counting one and yesterday is the first time I have gone over the amount I can have. Not that I am beating myself up over it.
