Sat, 28 Jan 2012 19:47:32 EST Consistency has left the building -- better yet has left me! Oh boy my consistency has fallen by the waist side. Not that I'm eating bad or anything, I'm just not being consistent. Adjusting to going back to work full time, managing a house, 3 kids & all their extra activities, a hubby who works at UPS (oh wait I don't have a hubby this month), trying to finish Xmas shopping, start wrapping, etc. my personal training clients, coordinating my boot camp classes to start in January, I'm tired. Mon, 21 Nov 2011 16:15:11 EST Gentle reminders As we start to ring in the summer season here in NY, it is important to talk about a few reminders that we are all guilty of not following ~ even me!

1) Always wear SPF! Even if it is cloudy out, put it on. There is hand & body lotion, face lotion, makeup & your typical SPF -- no excuse not to wear it. Tue, 31 May 2011 16:36:24 EST Consistency You want to see results; you want to feel like all of your hard work is paying off and resulting in changes; you want to feel healthy. Mon, 14 Feb 2011 14:41:01 EST Weaknesses We all have them & when you can admit to them you come out stronger & have a better sense of direction. My weakness has always been the diet area. Some people have exercise as their weakness (that is my strongest area) and some just have a combination of both diet & exercise as their weakness. But we all have them, just need to dig down deep & admit to them!
I'm not saying I have always just indulged on whatever, but I do not plan, let it take a backseat, do not log my food intake, et... I have not implemented the nutritional plan that comes with P90X but truly busting it out with the workouts. My eating has been pretty on the course but I think I am going to start week 3 off with following some of the principles behind P90X nutritional plan.
I have 2 boot camp classes (that I will be teaching) starting up the first week of January so I really giving myself that push to make sure I'm ready, especially aft... Tue, 14 Dec 2010 19:19:57 EST First strength workout in 5 weeks WOO HOO I had my first strength training workout in 5 weeks today! I did a very simple routine but one that targeted all my muscles! And boy did I feel it!!! Felt great though!

So my routine, at least for this week is Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4 mile runs & Tuesday & Thursdays my 30 minute circuit strength workout. I will also do at least 30 minutes of stretching, flexibility, yoga moves on these 5 days as well. I really tightened up! On Saturday & Sunday I will not necessari... Tue, 16 Nov 2010 20:28:22 EST 4 week check up & pics I had my 4 week post op check up with my MD & he said I'm healing nicely! I received clearance to start exercising again (although I had already been walking/jogging a bit). The only thing I cannot work on is my abs until I'm 8 week post op.

Ahhhhh where to start!!! I think I'll take the rest of this week to just do cardio & some stretching & then next week incorporate some weights again!

Here's to some new goals being established tonight!!!!

And some lon... Wed, 10 Nov 2010 19:05:40 EST Day 12 I cannot believe it has been 12 days since my surgery. I feel GREAT & recovering quickly. I think my recovery has been easy because I was very healthy to start - I worked out right up until the night before my surgery, I was at a healthy weight, take daily vitamins, eat healthy & more! It pays to keep a healthy lifestyle!

I have started walking again - taking it slow, but moving! I go back tomorrow for a check up and will be able to hear when I can start taking it up a notch,... Tue, 26 Oct 2010 09:03:22 EST Post op Day 5 ramblings Wow I cannot believe it is Day 5 of me recovering! I'm feeling great & more & more like my normal self! I have my first post-op appointment tomorrow & cannot wait to hear how I'm healing.
I have been sleeping in my own bed for the past 2 nights, which is so much more comfy but I'm restless with having to stay elevated. My kids said I was zipping around the house this morning, not my usual tortoise self 211 .
I'm eating healthy, the right portions & lots of lean protei... Tue, 19 Oct 2010 10:50:03 EST Post Op Day 3 Today is Post Op Day 3 and a better day - I woke up feeling much more refreshed, more perkier & more "normal". I managed to get a shower today - boy does that feel good!
But on another note, I'm going to lose my mind with my husband home taking care of the house - things are not getting done, the house looks like a total disaster, not sure if the kids have eaten, etc. Granted it won't be like "how I do it" but it would be nice to be walking around and not tripping over things, seeing... Sun, 17 Oct 2010 16:04:18 EST Day 1 after my surgery Had my surgery yesterday and I'm actually feeling pretty good. The surgery went well & actually probably a good thing I had it done, since my rectus abdominis (your 6 pack ab muscles) were so stretched out that they were starting to develop a hernia. A blessing in disguise I guess here.

I cannot get up on my own yet & need to rely on help & I cannot stand up straight, walking around hunched over. I also have to sleep in a recliner for the next 4 days - which is hard (I like to m... Fri, 15 Oct 2010 12:40:22 EST Less than 24 hours Less than 24 hours till my surgery and boy is it taking a toll on me! I haven't eaten normally (meaning the right amount of calories, not junk) for about 1 week now and I haven't slept a full night since Saturday. My mind races while laying in bed of all the things I need to get done to make things easier for hubby, all the what-ifs, the recovery, the not being able to lift weights for 6-8 weeks.
I know that God has the upper hand right now and is going to walk along side by side wit... Wed, 13 Oct 2010 07:59:43 EST Daily exercising & eating healthy works The proof is in the numbers, blood numbers that is! I recently switched my primary care physician, as part of the switch my new MD wanted a complete blood work up and physical done on me. Last week I had my blood work done & this morning I went for the follow up & physical. Let's just say the MD was impressed with my numbers! All of my numbers were normal or the low end of normal.
It is always a good feeling to see your hard work is also working on the inside - not just the outside... Tue, 28 Sep 2010 15:34:21 EST Day 8 of 30 Here is it Day 8 already -- where did the last 5 days go? Oops for not blogging! I have been sticking to my exercising & healthy eating. I enjoyed my relaxed day on Saturday and have been right on par since then.
I have been struggling with a head cold so that has limited me to resting the past 2 days (except for teaching boot camp Monday night). I did get my run in this morning and felt good, but then this humidity came back, out of nowhere and I have a headache again. But I'm pus... Wed, 22 Sep 2010 17:30:59 EST Day 3 of 30 So today was Day 3 of my 30 day challenge & I'm off to a great start so far. Today I did wake up feeling a bit under the weather so I took it as a rest day. I stayed the same with eating, maybe a bit less but found out that my past few day munchies have been compliments to TOM. I'm looking forward to a run tomorrow morning and then boot camp tomorrow night.

Definitely need to expand some of my choices for snacks & stuff because I am finding I'm getting a bit "bored" with some... Thu, 16 Sep 2010 22:02:19 EST What do you think can happen in 30 days? What do you think a body is capable of doing in 30 days? I have 30 days from today to see what I can do with my body - really working on toning muscle & reducing body fat! Going to take my measurements this morning & do a weekly progress. I'm going to really be clean with my foods for 6 days out of the week and at least allow myself 1 day to not be so rigid. I'm going to crank out the heavier weights on my exercises too!
Who is up for a 30 day challenge with me????? Tue, 14 Sep 2010 11:17:41 EST I'm taking today & not feeling guilty about it. I have 4 different opportunities that were presented to my plate last night and needed to take most of today to work on these 4 avenues to make my business successful!

In the past I would have felt guilty about not exercising or making time to get other stuff done, but I have come to a healthy point in my life & know that if I cannot exercise I need to be really diligent with my eating! So today is total clean foods, lower carbs & just overall hea... Wed, 1 Sep 2010 13:50:01 EST P90X week 4 Today is Day 1 of Week 4 of P90X - what an amazing journey the first 3 weeks were. I definitely felt myself getting stronger! I'm looking forward to the "rest" week here but the change of pace! Do I see much of changes yet - no but maybe my measurements will prove me wrong on Sunday! I am not following the nutritional plan for P90X but am more conscious of what I'm eating.

My second session of Boot Camp starts tomorrow -- I think I am going to have pretty much the same people... Mon, 9 Aug 2010 15:15:45 EST 2 days into P90X & boot camp update Hubby & I bought P90X the end of May and kept putting it off to get started. Finally this past Monday we started! I realized I had just about 90 days until a life changing day & wanted to be in tip-top shape for it!

So far we have been doing it at 9pm, after hubby gets home from work & kids are settled down. Poor hubby works for UPS, busting his butt all day & running non-stop & then has to come home & kick his own a$$ with P90X -- what dedication!

So Monday was D... Wed, 21 Jul 2010 09:01:03 EST Official Start Some of you already know this, but back in April I completed my studies to become a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer & successfully passed the exam. Thu, 1 Jul 2010 09:33:24 EST Busy but still here This past month has been extremely busy but my main focus has been getting my new Personal Training business up & running. Happy to report that will be official on July 1st! I cannot wait for my new venture & look forward to helping others!

And I will also be teaching a 4 week Boot Camp class starting in July -- so looking forward to that experience and learning a whole different level! Send me some great boot camp exercises!!!

Hubby and I are starting P90X tonight --... Tue, 22 Jun 2010 18:20:46 EST Progress Report It has been a month since I took my measurements and I'm pretty happy with my results. But let me start off by saying that most of May I have been pretty lax with my typical workouts and not tracking my food intake BUT I have been very active (to the point of working up a sweat doing gardening, household things, etc) as well as watching what I'm eating.
So here are my results:

Weight - 55 1.3lbs
BF - 55 .6%
Arms - stayed the same
Chest -... Thu, 20 May 2010 13:42:38 EST Certified Personal Fitness Trainer One of my goals for 2010 was to become a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer & I'm proud to report that I received my exam results back early this morning. I am ISSA Certified.

I will look at working part time at my local gym, to gain the gym experience but also look at starting my own business and helping others.

104 Wed, 5 May 2010 07:38:30 EST Can't explain I am down 1.1 pounds this week and I'm not sure why.

This week has purely been a week of relaxation for me -- relaxation from exercising. I took Monday & Tuesday completely off - no running, no gym, nothing. My body was tired & I needed the break. I still watched what I ate & had a high day too. Wednesday I ran, Thursday I took my daughter on a brisk walk & then gardened for 2 hours, and today I'm going to run & then mow my lawn (which if you remember a few weeks back I burned ... Fri, 30 Apr 2010 07:47:04 EST Eating enough but yet staying in budget I have found that I eat low amounts of calories to ensure we stay within our family grocery budget. BUT that means I'm eating 1100 - 1300 calories a day and that's it. Almost have some feelings of guilt for eating so much food when I try so hard to keep our family budget in tact.

Does anyone else experience this or am I just being silly?

How do you make sure you are eating enough to fuel your body but yet maintaining your budget? Tue, 27 Apr 2010 17:37:13 EST End of week 2 report & some progress made I should have posted this over the weekend but it was crazy busy around here. So I just finished week 2 of the bikini body ST routine and thought I would hop on the scale & take my measurements. This is how it all stands:

Weight - the same
BF - down .7%
Arms - same
Chest - down 1/4"
Ribs - down 1/2"
Waist - down 1/2"
Hips - down 1/2"
Thighs - down 1/4" on R, stayed the same on the L

So in 2 weeks I have seen some changes with my numb... Mon, 19 Apr 2010 08:46:59 EST Reminder As we start changing seasons remember your sunblock or SPF moisturizer/lotions. Even if you are going outside to play with your kids, or going out for some outdoor exercise, it is important to make sure you are protected!!

2 years ago this July I was diagnosed with skin cancer and have had to learn to remember my SPF, EVERY DAY! Now I have never been a "sun worshiper", but I am fair skin, always outside in the sun non-stop & both my paternal grand mother & my mother have a histor... Wed, 14 Apr 2010 14:44:26 EST End of week 1 report Last Saturday I weighed myself & gave my starting point, then I started counting my points & really focusing on what was going into my mouth. Monday I started the Bikini Body ST routine in the latest issue of Muscle & Fitness for Her. Tuesday morning I jumped on the scale again & noticed I was up 3lbs from Saturday BUT I had started TOM so I knew that was to be expected.

So how did I do?

I weighed myself this morning and I'm back down to that starting weight as of ... Sat, 10 Apr 2010 07:50:30 EST Weekend status report & Bikini ready program First I want to thank all of my SP friends for your constant support - you are all GREAT!!! 247

Saturday morning I got up, weighed in and started my journal. I counted my points all weekend & stuck to my daily allowance! We even ventured to my dad's house Saturday night for the holiday & Sunday morning he made pancakes -- well I asked if he had oatmeal for me instead -- YUP I had my oats!!! So overall I did GREAT this weekend!

Today I started the Bikini ... Mon, 5 Apr 2010 16:03:06 EST My slap came I decided to see how bad things have really been and get out the shorts ~ WOW what a slap in the face I just had. I can't blame anyone but myself for this. I did it all, I let myself go, I let myself not be consistent! And WHY? Who knows. And maybe I was just too embarrassed to face the reality. Then I grabbed out my WW weight tracker book and had to take a look at the numbers from the past.

From May 2008 to May 2009 I gained 9.2lbs.

From May 2009 to today I ga... Fri, 2 Apr 2010 17:59:30 EST 9 years ago today 9 years ago today this is what I looked like -- ready to become a mom for the first time! Wasn't my stomach just so "unnatural" looking? Those of you that had the opportunity to see "it" & me in person, never knew I was pregnant from the back, I 110% carried in my stomach & all the way out!

And this was 4 days before Nicholas joined us - I had just returned from my OB check up and found out he was going to ... Thu, 28 Jan 2010 18:37:49 EST I will not let my busyness deter me from my goals! Today & tomorrow are going to be crazy & running all around BUT I will not let that deter me or throw me off course! I will stick to my clean eating & my exercising! Let me rewind a bit....

So this past weekend came & I just got lost in calculating my calorie deficit but I'm still pushing strong and I *know* that I'm creating deficits.

Yesterday I had a GREAT day with my eating -- really made the right choices and I felt proud of myself by the end of the day!
