MAMACRAFTY1's SparkPeople Blog MAMACRAFTY1's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Whoot whoot moment! Since getting out of the hospital three weeks ago, I've lost 11 pounds. I have been trying very hard. Almost dying really changes one's perspective. I know the DR will be glad at tomorrow's visit. He has been on me to loose 20 pounds for the past two years and I always tell him " yes I will, but never do" Wed, 4 Feb 2015 08:14:42 EST Dr Appointment Today I went to the Dr today. Started strong antibiotics and steroids. Diagnosis is now pneumonia. The CT scan shows a nodule on my liver and kidney. I can't deal with that right now. I just want to be able to breathe. Thu, 29 Jan 2015 21:20:14 EST Standard of Excellence I have been out of the hospital one week. I forgot to weigh today to see how much I am down. Steroids can be very naughty for those trying to loose weight. Being cooped up in the house is causing me to go bonkers. That about sums up my past week. Now I need to look ahead at the coming week. Look over meal plans, become more educated and reacquainted with nutrition 101. I found my Fitbit. Dusted it off, recharged it and guess what? It still works! So with this in mind I am going to strive to... Wed, 28 Jan 2015 17:51:20 EST What a day! OK.. so it's fathers day. Not a day to poke fun at the mom. One of my kids posted to facebook a card and it went like this: Thanks Dad for sticking with mom, even after she got fat.
FAT??
I am sooooo gonna kill that kid the next time I see him. I might even go toilet paper his tree tonight.... He lives in a posh hood and I wonder what his neighbors will think?? Maybe I should suran wrap his truck?? Let me think.............what else could I do??
O yeah!! I could call pest pa... Mon, 17 Jun 2013 00:24:53 EST FITBIT- Gaining weight!! HELP!! this weeks blogs goes like this:
On Mothers Day I got a fitbit from my kids. I was so excited! I love how it tracks and it has made me more conscious of my activity. I never knew how many times I actually go up & down stairs. One day it logged 47 stairs! I check my fitbit several times a day and find myself jogging like crazy at 11 PM to get in my 10,000 steps or more.

Now on to my calories:
I write down what I eat....even the bad stuff that I know I shouldn't... Mon, 27 May 2013 08:32:43 EST Mortgage Nightmare....when will it end? A major set back happened.
After a long and harried 18 months of trying to re modify our home back in June of 2012 we finally got an approval for trial payments. We made them on time, never missed one. I kept in contact with BANK OF AMERICA and they always said "they are working on permanent modification."
December, 28 2012 we got an approval letter with documents to sign by January 5, 2013. We didn't have a week to get them back. We signed them and not only sent them back over n... Tue, 30 Apr 2013 08:47:56 EST Is it another Matelote Monday? Today upon trying to build my vocabulary I came across this word. Matelote. (n. - Highly seasoned soup or stew made of freshwater fishes (eel, carp, perch) with wine and stock)

Not that I would make it or probably even try it, given the chance. Do you have a new word??

Have a blessed day!! Mon, 29 Apr 2013 07:45:54 EST Enjoyed living today! Today I really enjoyed myself. The sun was out, the sky was blue, the birds were singing.
I went to weight watchers, learned some new things, went and worked out at planet fitness, went to the mall and then came home. I wasn't home long when my new daughter in law called and asked if I wanted to go for a ride to drop off the kids and go shopping....yeah!! Shopping twice in one day. That's a new world record for this non shopping girl. I ended up spending under $2.00 AND SAVED TONS! Thin... Sat, 27 Apr 2013 20:24:14 EST My blog post for the morning Started the morning out with coffee (nothing new). HUbby went out to check the camper to start getting it read for a summer vacation and what does he find? Over the winter the ceiling is mushy and water is everywhere. CRUD. well, I suppose the up side to all this is that he now has a project to get involved in.

Tonight is church. I usually feed about 15 - 25 kids dinner. They were so disrespectful and wouldn't clean up after themselves and just plain extremely hyper I thought I wou... Wed, 24 Apr 2013 10:30:24 EST Food Bank Tuesday This is a two part journal today.
A) It's food bank day. As the delivery guys are bringing in the food, our minds are hard at work trying to figure out what we will make the volunteers for lunch. When asked what's on the menu for today we always label it ___________ala surprise. Sometimes we hit a home run other times....well lets say "we should have ordered pizza".

It can be very challenging for someone receiving the food boxes to eat nutritionally and not all sugary/ carb... Tue, 23 Apr 2013 09:02:49 EST What an unusual day! A) Kids came back from kidfest, I think the chaperon's need a week off...LOL
B) Bomb scare at the local hardware where my son works. Don't know what happened there yet.
C) Didn't go over my allotted calories and I feel full.
D) Might have another kitten adopted out.
E) I actually increased my work out!
Have a blessed week!!♥♥ Sun, 21 Apr 2013 16:47:46 EST Not an ordinary Friday what do you have planned?? First let me catch up on yesterday's news: we had 30 families show up for boxes of food, that alone is great because it was storming like CRAZY and we were under a tornado watch. The guys who load the food for the people were holding umbrellas so the people wouldn't get too wet.. Seven deliveries went and 45 people were fed. The total number of people fed through our food bank was 108. I am very thankful to have a part in this even though there are ups and downs.

Now on to today!... Fri, 19 Apr 2013 08:48:02 EST Food Bank Thursday Today is what we call food bank Thursday. My husband is the senior pastor and we started a food bank 7 weeks ago. The first week we had 8 families come out. Last week we had 38 families and fed a total of 286 people that week. My food bill is running close to $200.00 a week. I don't know how we make it but by the Lord's grace the money comes in.
Today we had a terrible set back. The bread company that we get free bread told us this morning they didn't have any bread! We get about 300 lo... Thu, 18 Apr 2013 11:51:05 EST I only have one body I only have one body and I haven't been too good to it. It has been stretched, shrunk, overfed, under nourished, abused and pampered. I know what I should and shouldn't eat. I passed the class.....TWICE!! (another story some day).
One day this body is going to get fed up with my shenanigans and call it quits (Hopefully later and not sooner).
I need to learn that eye candy is just that, eye candy!! I don't have to eat it. Especially not the WHOLE thing if I do decide to indulge. Tryi... Mon, 10 Oct 2011 12:55:14 EST Three years and still sparking It has been three years and I am still sparking. I have yo-yo'd and of course got back on track. My weight has gone up a little lately and I promptly started to eat healthier. Eating out is just not good for you! So here I am back at it. The thing I really want to stress is NEVER GIVE UP. Fri, 30 Sep 2011 17:37:39 EST Another comment on nutrisystem (my opinion) I had the bran flakes for breakfast. They were just like raisin bran with out the raisins. I sprinkled some raisins on and it tasted good.
For lunch I had the fettuccini alfredo. It was ok, but I feel you could eat rice a roni pasta and get about the same thing. Nutrisystem has the benefit of being premeasured and once you eat it, it is gone and you can't go back to the pan for seconds. If I made the rice a roni pasta, I would probably eat more than one serving (1/2 cup), because I don't... Thu, 7 Oct 2010 14:43:59 EST weighed myself. I ended up getting on the wii this morning. I lost 1.8 pounds in 9 days.
Yah!! Thu, 7 Oct 2010 09:17:11 EST Nutrisystem left overs. My son gave me a box of his left over from nutrisystem. He went on it for 3 weeks and lost what he needed to.

I have 2 weeks worth of food. Of course the food I got was the stuff he said was nasty. I must agree some of the dehydrated food IS down right nasty tasting. Some was ok and some was tasty.

Today I did NOT like the chicken & dumplings. It did not look like the picture on the box, No way! It even looked a little like dog food. But I do not waste anything so I ate... Wed, 22 Sep 2010 09:33:55 EST Is Dieting for the Birds? Have you heard the expression: "Eat like a bird?"
I don't know if anyone ever watched a bird eat. I have a nest of brown birds right outside my kitchen window. The birds are constantly feeding their babies. I mean from sun up until it goes down.
If I was to eat like I bird, I would be as big as a cow!

The Dr. told me to eat small meals thro... Tue, 25 May 2010 09:13:44 EST OoOoOops! Fri, 21 May 2010 11:30:33 EST Understand it's a lifestyle Losing weight is not a quick fire decision, and don't expect to wake up one day and find yourself skinny.
I woke up recently and found someone had waved a wand and *poof 6 pounds magically was added to my body. This happened because I couldn't exercise for 3 months, but I didn't change the caloric intake to justify this.
Now that I have clearance, I am all raring to go!! This is a lifestyle. Fri, 3 Jul 2009 00:35:16 EST Tracking It is very hard for me to track the last 2 weeks. I haven't found a happy medium between finding time to do this and yet finishing everything else I need to do. From the time I wake up I have only 3 hours max to get everything done that I need to do around here, then when I come home from work it is already tomorrow and I haven't the energy to sit down and enter. Wed, 1 Jul 2009 09:28:04 EST Another foreclosure Last Monday we woke up to the sound of glass breaking, weight lift grunts and then solemn silence.
Another home owner has been evicted.
The belongings were immediately picked through by people passing by.
This makes the 10th in a years time.
There are not many jobs available to sustain a family.
I thought the banks were working with people? I went a couple of days with out tracking food. During this time it seemed like I was going over on my calories. I was afraid to eat because I didn't figure out the calories. When I actually figured the calories out, I find I am short changing myself. When I don't use the food tracker I eat 800 - 1000 calories. In order to be successful one needs to eat the lowest RECOMMENDED amount with out going under it.
That is why I need to use this tool to achieve my goal. I will see what this we...
