My hurdle is that I just don’t think that I’ve changed mentally at all. I lost the weight by calorie-counting… I found that I can achieve a goal if I can measure my progress along the way and counting calories worked well for me. But I’m not going to count calories for the rest of my life, that’s for certain.

As it is right now, I’m looking forward to my next visit to McDonald’s, my nex... Tue, 7 Sep 2010 11:42:54 EST Planning for the weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3320187 With the World Cup starting tomorrow and a Yankees game on Saturday, I need to really cut back on my calories today. I hope it's not too tough to do. Thu, 10 Jun 2010 09:16:45 EST Came up short today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3311495 I came up short in my calorie count today. I think I overcompensated after blowing my calorie count on my last two gym workout days. I considered meeting my calorie goal today by "rewarding" myself, but I decided to just leave it be. I am going to the Yankees/Astros game this weekend and I'm sure to blow out my calorie count then.

But I still completed my strength and cardio workout today and drank my 8 cups of water.

Mon, 7 Jun 2010 22:00:24 EST good visit to the doctor http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3306720 So with the weather forecast for temps in the 80's and a chance of thunderstorms, I went for a bike ride this morning at 7am. It was already 77 degrees when I started.

45 minutes later I had ridden 11 miles and burnt 570 calories according to my bike computer.

An hour after that, I was at the doctor's office for a previously scheduled checkup. I thought that I would have recovered from the bike ride by that time, but when the nurse did a double-take on my pulse read... Sun, 6 Jun 2010 17:27:45 EST Not even going to bother today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3298171 So the boss gave me a ticket to an afternoon game at Yankee Stadium. The seat was in a corporate suite where catered food is served. Not good. When I go to a baseball game, I have to eat at least one hot dog and drink one beer - which is usually all that I can afford at the new Yankee Stadium.

But when the food is catered, i.e., free????

So I won't even bother filling out my nutrition tracker today besides the yogurt and two cups of water that I had for breakfast. ... Thu, 3 Jun 2010 20:48:40 EST Dusted off the Cannondale today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3281718 I dusted off the Cannondale this morning and took it outside for a quick sprint - 13 miles in 60 mins. I felt better than I expected - was even surprised to find a newly paved road in the neighborhood. It was on a hill and I approached it in the uphill direction, but a newly paved road in NYC is still a blessing in disguise.

Then on the way home, I somehow hit a road defect that jarred my bike viciously. I thought I broke a spoke or at least bent a wheel, but nothing. That pu... Sun, 30 May 2010 09:24:04 EST Small steps in the supermarket! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3279764 I read somewhere on this site that I should stay away from the middle of supermarkets because that's where all of the preprocessed (and comparably unhealthy) foods are. Ok... that makes sense to me.

But what about end caps? They're not in the middle of the supermarket at all!

I go shopping today and the first thing I see is an endcap with Vienna Fingers cookies and Chips Ahoy cookies on sale. I buy Vienna Fingers 99% of the time when I see it on sale. One cookie is... Sat, 29 May 2010 12:34:39 EST Let's go Mets! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3272220 It's going to be tough meeting my calories limit tomorrow as I'm going to the baseball game. I guess I'll have to try to fill up on salads before I get to the game. I will be walking a lot too on my tour of Yankees Stadium, so maybe that'll help burn some calories.

I went over by about 300 calories today, but I really needed to eat after working out. 39 Wed, 26 May 2010 23:45:28 EST Water, water, everywhere http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3271273 So I figured out how to drink my 8 cups of water daily. 2 before I leave for work, 3 more before lunch, 3 with/after lunch, and 2 more at least after I get home in the evening. Not so bad when I realized that a glass of water is actually 2 cups.

So those SparkPoints should come easily. Wed, 26 May 2010 18:20:45 EST Getting the right mindset http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3263477 Hey, so I just ordered these AbsOfSteel DVDs yesterday and I know that I am going to need some help completing them. Somehow I arrived at this site today and maybe this site will provide me with the motivation that I need.

I'm currently 215lbs and 6 ft. tall. It seems like I've been 215lbs forever. I go work out with a personal trainer 2x/week and have been doing so for the last three years. I started with the trainer at 219lbs and the lowest that I've been is 210lbs. Yeah,...
