I lost 1.5 inches from my waist and 1 inch from my hips. I know it is not a lot but it definitely means something to me. People used to tell me that it didn't matter if I didn't see a change on the scale because I could be losing inches. I never quite understood it until now.

I want to lose weight. I don't want to be a size 2x and 20/22. So if losing inches is the way I'm going to see progress right now then ... Thu, 31 Jan 2013 22:37:26 EST A 2 Mile Walk, Dining Out & Exercise http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5230946 Today was another successful day for me. My fiancé and I went for a nice walk today in this beautiful, unseasonably warm NJ weather. We went to the post office and did a little bit of other walking around. It was a nice 2 mile walk.

We went and had a lunch date. It was my first time dining out since starting my healthy lifestyle. I have to admit I was a little nervous but I feel I did really well. To drink I ordered a water with lemon (yay to no soda!) and ordered a lunch combo. ... Wed, 30 Jan 2013 22:31:58 EST My Official Starting Pictures http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5229020 I have never done this before. I am not the person who takes a before (or as I like to call it) starting pictures. I hate the way I look in pictures so this is a huge step for me.

I thought about it and came to the conclusion that having these pictures will be a reminder of why I want to change my life for the better. So here goes.

Front View

<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/n... Tue, 29 Jan 2013 16:09:41 EST A Very Emotional Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5227729 Today was very trying on me both emotionally and physically. I didn't think I would get to work out because I have a lot of pain (unrelated to working out). This pain has caused me quite a bit of emotional stress. I'll spare the details, I just hope the end is near and I get relief soon.

Anyway, thankfully I was able to work out for 23 minutes. It's better than nothing and I am glad I did it since I took a day off on Saturday. I really don't want to get in the habit of taking days... Mon, 28 Jan 2013 20:23:32 EST A New Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5226351 Since it is Sunday I decide to start tracking my weight today so it stays in sync with SP. I'm down a pound which is better than nothing. I also updated my fitness goal because starting today I will be doing 45 minutes of exercise. 30 minutes with the Wii and 15 with the elliptical. I'm hoping to get up to an hour on the elliptical. Slowly but surely I guess.

SP changed my calorie range since my exercise time increased. I'm finding it hard to eat the amount of calories required. I... Sun, 27 Jan 2013 23:00:06 EST Still Going Strong http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5225047 So it's the end of another week and I am still on the right track for a healthy lifestyle. I took a day off from cardio today, but still ate healthy and stayed within my SP ranges.

For breakfast I had oatmeal with strawberries and vanilla soy milk. Lunch was a turkey sandwich on whole wheat multigrain bread with veggies. Dinner was pizza! And it was healthy pizza too.

I used a wheat dough that I got at the supermarket, used low sodium tomato sauce very lightly, less tha... Sat, 26 Jan 2013 23:45:23 EST Successful Movie Date! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5223729 My fiancé and I love having a daytime movie date. It is so convenient for us to go because we only go when our daughter is in school. We get some alone time together and don't have to worry about who we can get to watch our daughter.

I love going to the movies. It is my chance to get that large popcorn with extra butter and salt and a large Coke Zero. If we have the extra money we even get chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks, but usually just stick to the popcorn and soda. Today... Fri, 25 Jan 2013 22:29:06 EST A Pretty Good Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5222406 Today I can say that I was healthy all day. I stayed within my ranges, didn't eat any bad food, and did 15 minutes on the elliptical. Today was my first day doing 15 minutes and it felt great!

I feel like the more days I get through successfully the more I can keep up with this healthy lifestyle change. It's important for me to have a better life and set a good example for my daughter.

Another big achievement... I got my daughter to eat brown rice. She loves rice and I... Thu, 24 Jan 2013 23:40:12 EST Hotdogs for Dinner? Not for me! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5220676 So my fiancé suggested hotdogs for dinner today. I didn't realize that he was going to pair them with enriched white buns and baked beans. He is very supportive of me eating healthier but what he doesn't seem to understand is that I'm not just doing this for me but for our whole family. We all need to be healthy and especially set a good example for our young daughter.

So I passed on the hotdogs and baked beans. Instead I had leftovers from dinner yesterday which I have to say was... Wed, 23 Jan 2013 20:20:42 EST Healthy Breakfasts http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5218735 I never knew that a yummy breakfast could also be healthy. I'm the kind of girl that could eat a whole package of bacon for breakfast with 3 eggs and toast and be happy and satisfied. I could never get enough bacon. Now that has changed.

I haven't had that kind of breakfast in about a month and I don't even miss it. Today I had scrambled egg beaters with chopped spinach (thank you Magic Bullet) and avocado on top with a side of multigrain toast. OMG it was so good and I was satisf... Tue, 22 Jan 2013 14:00:13 EST
