Being that it's Friday it means I'm in 5 days of my 12 day work streak. UGH. 7 more days of being stuck in this HORRIBLE chair at work. BUT... I just completed my 10 minute walk to keep my 10 min/day streak going. Day 4... done!

I did my 10 minutes just now at work (actually, 12 because I'm an over-achiever 211 )... It is such a constant challenge to lose/maintain weight.

Thanks to my dear friend, IAMZBEE, I took my first steps towards making this maintainable. I took a walk. Had a whole blog typed up and accidentally closed out of it. Here we go again:

I am not abandoning my goals, but I am revising them. This time of year is just too difficult for me to stay on track with my eating. I have 1-2 bad eating days and I am tempted to give up. So that I don't give up I am going to focus mostly on my fitness and less on my eating habits. I will still strive to get my water in (weekends are the hardest) and make better decisions on food most of th... I am so far out of shape that the 3 miles of interval running and my 10 squats, 10 push-ups, and 30 second plank have me sore today! I can't wait to get out for another interval run today. My speed intervals were roughly 7MPH (yes, that is fast for this girl) and my darling dog must have seen a bird or something and damn near killed me by running in front of me during a speed interval. I really thought I was going to get intimate with the pavement for a second. I ... I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was very nice. I did pretty well on my goals last week... I didn't get a formal walk or run in on Saturday, but we took the dog to the Farmer's Market and then to a City Festival and did a fair amount of walking around, so I know I got my 2 miles in. Mon, 18 Aug 2014 14:19:37 EST Progress Report http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5759680 Happy Thursday! It's my last working day of the week - yay!! I had every intention of getting up and walking the pup (Summit is her name) this morning and FAILED. I don't know what it is going to take for me to get going that early in the morning. The dog didn't even get up this morning either to watch my husband get ready. So, I plan on taking her out for a 3ish mile walk tonight... as my knees are still killing me, I don't think running is a good idea.

I weighed in today and... Thu, 14 Aug 2014 13:45:35 EST Workout #3 Complete! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5759081 The pup and I went out for our third run this morning. 3 miles today. I put her training collar back on today and she did much better. It was also pretty quiet on the trail since it was about 9am on a Wednesday. She still likes to veer into my running legs and trip me. I don't know what I need to do to keep her a safe distance to my side. My knees are killing me now... I forgot to foam roll my IT band before my shower and that usually seems to help.

Regardless, I got it done... Wed, 13 Aug 2014 16:38:04 EST Feeling better http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5758406 I'm feeling much better after such a down day yesterday. The dog and I even got out for an easy jog after the sun went down (though it was still like 87 degrees). I was pretty proud of myself for not letting the heat stop me. We got up this morning and got in another 2.25 mile walk/jog. I'm feeling pretty tired sitting here at work, but my mind is more calm than it was yesterday.

I also stayed in calorie range yesterday (actually slightly below) and am well below today with t... Monday. I'm in a pretty down mood today - I haven't felt like this in quite a while.

I've managed to gain all of my weight back, plus a little. I am really unhappy with my body.

The bright part of my life right now is that we got a dog just over a week ago, and I'm hoping she will help me get back on track. I have been getting out for walks/runs with her, but I need to be more consistent, for both of us. I need to get over the darker mornings and get out of ... Mon, 11 Aug 2014 13:38:12 EST I'm alive! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5695153 Ugh. I am so bad at being consistant with Spark lately... But I'm still here and I'm still working towards my goals! I am not doing great with my weight loss. So let's start from where things left off in my blog at the end of February....

We had an AWESOME time in Vegas! So great that we came home and planned our next trip within a week. We will be there in just over 2 months for my birthday. On the down side, I didn't really lose any weight for the last trip. We did not ge... Wed, 14 May 2014 19:33:59 EST Impromptu Rest Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5636101 Well, yesterday turned into an unplanned rest day for me. For several reasons. First, I developed a knot in my back when I was working out on Wednesday. It is PAINFUL. I got my kettlebell in the mail and it hurt to even pick it up. So between that and my father in law wanting to take us to dinner, I decided to take a rest day.

I overate and overdrank at dinner last night... But still consumed less food than I normally would. The scale didn't move this morning, so I'll take t... Let's start with some backgroud.... Last year I went to my doc and asked her to change my birth control prescription to make me only have 4 cycles a year. I was getting so tired every month and skipping workouts. I didn't want that anymore. So, here I am... not having to deal with it every month, but for the first time in my life having to deal with cramps every 3 months... Thu, 27 Feb 2014 13:59:00 EST One week plan: Day 1 done http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5633586 I kicked some booty last night! The only thing I didn't do that I was planning for was my detox bath. It just got too late and I didn't have the time/energy. I honestly don't know if I will ever have the time/energy... but I'll keep trying.

I did manage to do my 30 min HIIT and followed it up with 30 min of walking @ 3.5mph with a 5% incline. My booty was on FIRE! It felt really good. I slept so well. I did well with the calories too, coming right in at my minimum. Today I ... Tue, 25 Feb 2014 16:08:13 EST This week's plan: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5632760 I am hoping to take this month out with a bang! I want to be as good this week as I can. Kick some butt with workouts, and show myself (and the scale) that I can do it. I did well last week, but I'm going to step it up this week. In addition to eating on the lower end of my calories every day this week here is my plan for the workouts:

Today: 30 min HIIT, 30 min walking, then stretching and foam rolling. I'll follow it up with a detox bath and then hit the hay
Tuesday: ... Mon, 24 Feb 2014 18:05:24 EST Evil Foam Roller http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5630143 So, I foam rolled last night. I've had a foam roller for quite some time now. I bought a small one that came with a video. The guy who is in the video is like rapist creepy so I can't watch that for instruction. So after hearing from some of you that I should foam roll and maybe that'd help me knee pain - I looked up some videos and went to it.

46 It hurt so bad! I mean, bad in a good way... I think? I know it takes a while to loosen up the muscles so it's not so ... He is having his prostate removed in 2 weeks and hopefully that will be the last time we see the cancer. I hope everything goes well.

I had a horrible, indulgent weekend. I am still trying to recover. I keep losing the same few pounds every week. I want to lose at least 10lbs before Vegas and that's just 31 days away. I don't think that's happen... Wed, 19 Feb 2014 15:35:27 EST What is it going to take?? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5623132 I don't know why I do this to myself. I am so unhappy with my body. So badly wishing my clothes fit. So determined to lose the weight. But when the morning rolls around I just cannot get up and get my workout in. I wake up - hell, I even get out of bed to go to the restroom. Then I climb back in bed - I toss and turn and feel guilty about not working out, but I still don't get up and do anything about it.

I have been doing well with my eating, but I know this weekend is going... Thu, 13 Feb 2014 12:50:33 EST Highs and Lows http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5620613 Happy Monday, all! I hope your week is off to a good start. Mine is okay. I had a rough end to the week last week. I've never felt quite as down in the dumps as I have the last few weeks. I would actually call it depressed. Normally I get into a funk, but can come out of it. This was/is deeper than a funk. I'm doing everything in my power to fix it. On Friday (my 1/2 day at work) I went home and got dinner in the crockpot, then forced myself out the front door for a run in the sun. ... YES!!!!

So, that's the good news. The bad news is that I have fallen off the bandwagon. My last workout was on Friday. I cannot make excuses. But I will say I went to bed early last night and I am feeling much better today.

I am really hoping that I get home early enough from my doc appt this afternoon to hit the treadmill before we have a meeting with someone about life insurance. My legs hurt just sitting here. My butt hurts just sitting here. Even my arms hurt... from running! UGH. I am shocked at how sore I am but I guess running sprints on an incline, even for only 15 seconds at a time, is quite the workout.

So I know when I started this challenge I said I would do 4:30am workouts every day for 21 days. I am feeling awfully proud. I haven't stuck with 4:30 workouts every morning, but I've made SO much progress!

The last 2 days I saw the hubs off to work then climbed back into bed. This is a serious no-no, but I did it. The plus side? I did what is even harder for me, and went back to sleep but still got up early enough to fit in a workout before getting up for work. Yesterday I got up and d... Wed, 29 Jan 2014 14:55:43 EST 5 days down - 16 to go! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5607368 I am so proud of myself right now. I cannot believe I have gotten up and worked out every morning for the last 5 days. Now, they have not all been 4:30am workouts like I wanted, but here's how it has looked the last few days.

Day 1 - 4:30am workout. 15 min HIIT on treadmill
Day 2 - Had some discomfort in my shin, opted to do planks at 4:30am, and a 45 minute workout after my 1/2 day at work to test out said shin pain.
Day 3 - Saturday... got up at 7:30 and hit the trea... Something funky happened to my right shin yesterday during my run. It is sore... hurts to walk down stairs. I got up with the hubs and got him off to work. First step done. But my leg was just bothering me so I opted to do a couple of planks then climb back in bed.

I am going to hit the treadmill when I get home (I only work 3-4 hours on Friday mornings). I plan on walking through a TV show, about 45 minutes. I'll try to do... Fri, 24 Jan 2014 12:52:34 EST I must be crazy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5603447 I must be crazy because I decided I needed a challenge. So, I challenged myself to 21 days straight of waking up at 4:30am to workout. 4:30 is when my husband leaves for work (and wakes me up for my morning meds) so that is why I chose that horrible hour.

I work different hours all week, so on days that I work at 10am (rather than 7:30/8) I will be doing a 30 minute HIIT workout on the treadmill. On my earlier days I will be doing a 15 minute HIIT workout on the treadmill. T... I may have been MIA for a while, but I've been trying to get back on my feet. With the move and the holidays I just let myself go crazy with food and sitting on my butt.... So not a good decision. I have gained back a bunch of weight. A BUNCH.

My lowest low was 135 last year - I weighed in on 1/1 at 162.4........... I feel like I could fail miserably. I'm scared!!! I took a week off to recover from my 10 mile run that caused PAINFUL runner's knee. This week I have done a 2.5 and a 3.5 mile run with my coworker. My knees still hurt. So do my feet.

I am the poster child for "too much, too soon". I know this. But I am NOT about to give up on this one. If I have to call across that finish line I will. It has been a while since an update on how things are going. My diet and exercise have been hit and miss. But I've been good about getting my long runs in. Problem is that those are typically my only exercise. It is no wonder that my 10 mile run on Saturday left me in PAIN. Runner's knee is no joke, I am learning quickly. I am in some serious pain still after icing all weekend. I just want it to go away. It is going to make these last 3 weeks before our half difficult. I... On Saturday I met up with my co-worker at 6am to walk for Relay for Life. We walked 5 miles in under 2 hours. It was great. Hubs met me there, we drove to our trail (this time a few stops further from the city) and did our 9 mile training run. 14 miles in one day. I'm still pooped!

The run was BEAUTIFUL. I think I'll take my camera with me next time so I can share the beaut... Wed, 17 Jul 2013 15:39:03 EST Quick Update - And BIG "Thank You!!" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5414637 First of all, I want to thank all of you, my amazing Spark Friends, for the comments on my race blog! My official time was 39:38 - 9:55 pace. 244 Thank you ALL for the support and the kind words!

In other news - I have a sinus infection now. After running 6.5 miles on Saturday I spent all of Sunday on the couch unable to breathe and with a sore throat. Today I'm at work, but still feeling pretty gross. I'm afraid it will be tough to run with my sore throat. So..... Mon, 8 Jul 2013 17:25:41 EST 4 on the 4th Race - My new PR! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5411642 I can't believe it, not only did I beat my husband at the 4 mile race, but I finished in UNDER 40 MINUTES! I am floored! I was hoping for 42 minutes... and I finished at something like 39:40. AMAZED! I felt really good most of the time. I did start cramping in my shoulder (don't know why, but its why I quit soccer when I was like 7 years old). So I walked a tiny bit, but kept pushing through and hauled up the final hill. When I saw the race clock I couldn't tell if it said 38 min or 39... Between ST yesterday and 5 miles on the treadmill this morning... I'm pooped.

Today was 5 miles in 59 minutes including warm up and cool down. I wanted to quit at mile 3... and mile 4... but I managed to finish! I was hoping to finish in closer to 55 minutes, but I didn't want to push too hard since we have a race on Thursday.

I wish there was a hot yoga class tomorrow morning but there is not. Now that it has had time to sink in... I'm scared! I know we can do it, but a half-marathon??? I guess making dreams into reality is what life should be, right??

Well, I've got my training schedule written out, made one for the hubs too, and I had the hubs promise that he will not let me sleep in M-F for the next 2 months. I took "before" photos this morning as I'm sure this intense ST and cardio pl... So... my next 2 months are going to be BUSY. 9 weeks to train.

I wrote it all out. And I have a sheet to cross off each day on the count down. Sundays will be rest days.
